Lovely spot. Rural. Great for listening to bird song and stargazing. Lovely outdoor deck to share a glass of wine and a platter. Well stocked kitchen. Large room. Large bed. Large bathroom.

Nothing really. I just couldn’t work the under floor heating and missed having a TV to unwind as I forgot my book! But that was a minor problem.

Private bush location, very close to Te Arai Links golf course

Best to arrive in daylight if you can, down long gravel driveway. very clear instructions.

Wow! What an amazing find. Sorry we only spent a night here. Arrived on a winter rainy night and felt so comfortable and snug. Private and set in lovely bushland. So comfortable. Hope to be back.

Remote and hidden away, as the name implies. The unit is small, compact, with everything we needed plus an amazing shower. It is ideal for a getaway, with peaceful views, but pretty far from town.

Access roads as we came during a major rain storm.

Secluded and set amongst the Kauri

This is my third time staying here. I always stay in Ruru cottage which has a beautiful outlook onto the bush. The cottage is extremely comfortable with everything you need. Listening to the birds is so peaceful. Great shared BBQ area

Nothing, everything is amazing

Clean & everything was absolutely beautiful.

The property was perfect in every way except the bathroom of my room had a door (that leads to the back deck) that didn’t have a blind or was tinted one way for privacy. You can see outside during the day but at night it was dark, anyone outside could see in while you were showering etc.

Two cockroaches crawled up my hand (gave me a hell of a fright) by the coffee station as I reached for a coffee sachet. Otherwise everything else was perfect.

The scenery from our back balcony was unbelievable. So beautiful and peaceful. The nature and wildlife you're surrounded by is amazing.

Few bugs around, but you are kind of in their space :)

Very comfortable, clean and private. The communal bbq area is lovely. It would be great to go with a group.

Be aware the is no TV. Not an issue for us, but maybe for other people.

Absolutely fantastic. So quiet and peaceful. All I could hear were the birds, cicadas and the breeze. The view was spectacular and the cabin beautifully appointed with an amazing bathroom. Highly, highly recommend.

Unfortunately, because we are getting old, the bed was way to hard. It was large thou which was great, but just to uncomfortable 😐

Was a beautiful escape out in nature, surrounded by beautiful bird life and animals, the shower was absolutely amazing!!! Just overall a great stay.

The cabin was great and the view was also. We really could have done with a heater. It got quite cold for older people. Not having a TV was interesting.

The drive down is quite daunting so be prepared.

The cabins were in a stunning location with an amazing secluded view from the back verandah. They were very new and very clean. The bed was so comfortable and shower had great pressure. Also had information about local places to eat and things to do. The hosts met us as we came in and were very friendly whenever we saw them.

Amazing secluded location with such a beautiful peaceful feel. We were sad to leave, even to stock up on supplies so do that before you arrive! You won’t want to go anywhere else.

Beautiful location, comfortable bed, the walk to the waterfall was lovely.

Awesome location, very well laid out to maintain privacy between cabins. We enjoyed a walk on the farm and into the bush to the waterfall. Kids loved playing pétanque and the hammock was lovely. Hosts were very friendly and thoughtful providing games, water and lights when the power was out.

The kitchen is quite small and impractical if you plan to cook.

Secluded location so you need your own car however it is worth it !! Beautiful place with natives, birds and a creek with waterfall to swim in. Also has a lovely picnic/BBQ area which we used. We also managed to make some friends with others staying there.

Beautiful cabin and setting but difficult to get to.

Didn’t provide clean towels or refills coffee after first night. No power or means to light our cabin was dangerous and miserable given the isolated location. Luckily owners brought candles at 8:30pm but was way too late.

The peace and quiet, yet how accessible local amenities were.

Nestled in such a peaceful location and thoughtfully designed space. It was such a cosy stay, perfect for a getaway to relax and unwind. The communal area with the bbq was a bonus and very accomodating hosts.

Room was perfect, well appointed and comfortable. the bathroom is great. Love the location, nestled in nature, calm and tranquility. Loved keeping an eye our for rabbits and the local quail family!

A dishrack would be helpful, and other cleaning items eg scourer or steel wool for pans

We booked 3 villas and all were designed well. Units were very clean😊 We also liked the hall where the family converged to have lunch and dinner together. It also served as kids play area when the weather wasn’t that great. Also loved the short walk to the waterfalls!

This was the second time I have visited and I love it here. It is so peaceful and you really feel like you are in the bush. Beautiful room surrounded by birds and nature. Love the main area and lots of cool facilities. Also a cool little waterfalls/pool nearby. Very close to the main attractions of Mangawhai :)

Everything was beautifully present and the views were just stunning.

The cabin was stunning. King bed, beautiful bathroom and shower everything you could possibly need. The surroundings were amazing, like being in the middle of a rain forest, very private and quiet. Our host was very generous in letting us have a later check out which was great.

Loved the peaceful Seclusion. A place to completely relax and disconnect

Our cottage was perfect, as they all likely are, with a view out the fully glass wall out the back to a private deck and what can only be described as a tropical jungle with a multitude of birds. The comfortable bed faced that wall as well so you could sit up in bed and enjoy it. The bathroom was also exceptional with a great rain shower with lots of water pressure if desired. The kitchen had what you needed with a good sized refrigerator.

The private gravel driveway was long and the road to the driveway was also not paved but both were well worth it for how peaceful and quiet it was at the cottage.

The unit was large and comfortable, surrounded by nature. Very comfortable bed and well appointed kitchenette. The exterior deck was our favourite space to spend time

Everything was just perfect, best stay during my 10 days travel.

The place is very quiet and peaceful. Bedroom and living space is spacious. Shower is great. There was a falls nearby too which is bonus.

I like everything. An outdoor spa bath would be a great addition.

a beautiful place to escape to. couldnt find any faults. we only stayed one night as we where attending a party in the area. but would love to come back and stay longer and really enjoy the place. waking up to a view of the Forrest was magical.
