Reviewed Sep 17, 2026In a nice quiet part of Mangawhai and with walking distance of basic shopping requirements. New World 5 minute drive. Short drive to the fabulous Heads, with beach walks, Tanekaha trails and 10 minutes to Langs beach and Waipu cove. Equally stunning.

The sheets were very noisy, maybe polyester material. Maybe swap them with the traditional fleece or non noisy ones.

Reviewed Mar 26, 2026Great location right on the water's edge. Easy 5min walk to takeaway places and restaurants. High standard accommodation, beds were great and all essentials provided for. Plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Would definitely stay here again if returning to Mangawhai.
Minor thing - bedrooms could do with blackout blinds on the wooden shutters as it got pretty light in the mornings once the sun came up. Wouldn't stop us booking the place again.

The bed (I think it is a super king size) was soooooo comfortable best sleep I’ve had in ages. Beautiful quality linen throughout. Kitchen had everything we needed for our 1 night stay including an excellent little coffee machine. Would not hesitate to book this again if we are back up in Mangawhai.

NO cooking facilities. NO stove- NOTHING. There is a microwave. We bought groceries thinking we could cook breakfast. Food was wasted because we couldn't cook. Electric frying pan would have been handy or a small portable stove. They would have spent a lot of money building this unit but forgot to incorporate cooking facilities. We won't be back because of it. NO outside BBQ Internet did not work at all. Poor

Reviewed Sep 2, 2025Fantastic quiet location with easy access to the estuary walkway and the tavern. The space was beautifully decorated, very comfortable bed and pillows. Bathroom was great and excellent pressure in the shower plus wonderful smelling shower gel and hand soaps. Plenty of facilities in the kitchen, we didn't use the Nespresso coffee pod machine but appreciated it was there along with a lovely assortment of teas and hot chocolate. Real milk in the fridge not UHT pots was a nice touch along with the night light plugged in on the way to the bathroom. Its these little things that shows the host really thinks about their guests.

It was so thoughtful to have nearby restaurants menus and formularities already copied making it easy to decide what to have for dinner.
