Reviewed Jul 22, 2026Er was steeds een prima ontbijt, waarbij we ook nog gezellig een praatje konden maken met Sofie. De locatie is op slechts een paar minuutjes wandelen van Flanders Fields en het centrum. Parkeren is voor de deur niet mogelijk, maar het Minneplein is op een paar hoderd meter lopend te bereiken. En daar is parkeren gratis!
Het enige is een ophanghaakje voor mijn handdoek. Verder heeft deze B&B alles wat je nodig hebt - schoon toilet, prima douche, airco, bed zonder voeteneinde (erg fijn voor iemand van 2 meter !!!)...

Everything was perfect. Only thing that car parking space is not guaranteed opposite the B&B so you need to park car a little further away in the next street. Parking is free.

Uitstekende kamer met dranken in frigo aan zeer democratische prijzen. Dag en nacht toegang tot koffie en thee. Aangenaam terras. De gastvrijheid, gedienstigheid en vriendelijkheid van gastvrouw Sofie, maakt het plaatje compleet!!! Bedankt Sofie! We komen volgend jaar terug! Koen en Monica

Unfortunately we missed breakfast as we were having to start each day at 6.00 for a remembrance trip. Would recommend as a great place to stay.

A highlight at the end of a very hot day was good air conditioning and an ice cold drink from the well stocked fridge in our room. We also had a variety of fruit, biscuits and hot drinks whenever we wanted. Full cooked and continental breakfast every morning with a selection of homemade yoghurts and spreads. A clean room, fresh towels and a welcome back chat after each day made us feel at home. With the town centre very close we had supermarkets, restaurants and even a laundry near by. A very convenient, quiet location and walking distance from the station. What more could anyone want.

Reviewed May 18, 2026Cocoon has to be the best location in Ypres. Just 5 minutes walk from Grote Markt and the same from the nearest parking with electric chargers. We had a super clean room with a fantastic shower and it overlooked a quiet street. Sofie and Lode, are lovely hosts. They made us very welcome and looked after us for all of our 6 night stay. Their advice on places to visit was brilliant. And the breakfast-absolutely fantastic. Everything you could possibly want including eggs cooked to your liking and everything super fresh.

Our host was very helpful and knowledgeable, giving the impression that nothing would be too much trouble. The breakfast was tremendous everything you could want including cereal, yoghurt meat and cheese, fresh patties and even eggs and bacon. Throughly enjoyed our stay, definitely hope to return.

This quirky B & B is very well located, being just a few minutes stroll from the market square, yet incredibly peaceful. The accommodation was and spotlessly clean and beautifully presented by the friendly, helpful and knowledgeable landlady, who was happy to help with any queries. The continental breakfast was excellent and guests have access to coffee, fresh fruit etc. throughout the day. We greatly enjoyed our stay and hope to be backsometime soon.

The owners who live on the property themselves are most helpful and Sophie prepares the most delicious breakfast. There is free coffee available all day as well as fruit and cookies. The room is comfortable with an honesty bar fridge containg an assortment of drinks at a nominal price.
The floor creaks when you walk on it, but that's because it's a historic building that has been beautifully restored.

Reviewed Dec 24, 2025Uitstekende locatie, rustig gelegen en toch alles dichtbij. Gratis parkeren kan aan het Minneplein. Supervriendelijke gastvrouw, handig bonnenboekje met kortingen op verschillende plaatsen, royaal ontbijt, de hele dag door warme dranken en fruit ter beschikking.
De handdoeken roken wat muffig. En ja, de vloer kraakt een beetje , maar dat hoort bij de charme van het (mooie) pand.

We will definitely be staying at Cocoon again in the near future when we travel to see family in this wonderful part of Belguim.
