The rooms where clean and the staff was so amazing! They picked us up from the bus station and drove off us to the train station! The breakfast was delicious and they offered us coffee and tea! The hotel itself was simply amazing! A true Tibetan house very beautiful! The rooms were very well decorated and spacious! The courtyard was very beautiful!

Tutto, a partire dall'appartamento che era un vero e proprio chalet, super spazioso e dotato di ogni comfort. Arredato con cura e dettagli. Il proprietario anche super gentile e sempre disponibile, ci ha sempre consigliato posti e attivita'. Inoltre ci ha anche accompagnati alla stazione, una gentilezza unica! Grazie ancora

El hotel no se ve desde fuera, es una puerta de madera que da paso a una casa de madera grande donde está la recepción . Cada habitación es una casita separada de las demás. Nosotros estuvimos en una con vistas a Shangri La preciosas, con cama grande y saloncito con sofás, juegos de té, mesas, y terraza acristalada, etc. todo con muy buen gusto. Si la casa es bonita, de los dueños solo podemos decir cosas muy, muy buenas. Nos vinieron a buscar y a llevar a la estación, al parque nacional Potatso, siempre con muchísima atención y cariño. Los desayunos son buenísimos y variados y siempre con detalles (más). Un lujo en Shangri La.

Die Unterkunft befindet sich in einer zentralen Lage, sodass die Altstadt innerhalb von fünf Minuten bequem zu Fuss erreichbar ist. Zahlreiche kleine Supermärkte befinden sich unmittelbar vor der Haustüre. Wir wurden vom Bahnhof abgeholt bei der Ankunft sowie an den Bahnhof gebracht bei der Rückreise. Die Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich & hilfsbereit; sie buchten uns für den selben Preis sogar in ein grösseres Zimmer um. Zudem hatten wir den Wunsch, den Balagezong-Grand-Canyon zu besichtigen. Der Gastgeber fuhr uns persönlich hin und zurück, legte noch einen extra Halt bei einem Aussichtspunkt ein und wartete den ganzen Tag vor Ort auf uns zu einem Preis von 1000 Yuan. Am Morgen wurden wir vor der Abfahrt kostenfrei mit Kaffee versorgt, und am Abend erhielten wir jeweils eine Flasche Wasser pro Person für die Rückreise. Des Weiteren betreiben die Gastgeber ein charmantes kleines Café, in dem Sie euch ein ausgiebiges Frühstück für 68 Yuan anbieten. Die Zimmer sind gut ausgestattet und komfortabel; sie verfügen über Heizungen & Heizdecken. Wir waren mit unserem Aufenthalt äusserst zufrieden und würden jederzeit gerne wiederkommen.

Wir bekamen ein Upgrade in das neue Gebäude des Besitzers. Diese Suiten waren unglaublich schön und modern sauber und gut ausgerüstet. Die Zimmer waren sehr ruhig. Wir hatten viel Privatsphäre. Wir wurden von einer jungen Frau, die zwar nicht Englisch konnte aber sonst sehr reizend und hilfsbereit war, war empfangen und konnten uns gut mit der Übersetzungs-App verständigen. Das Frühstück konnten wir vorbestellen. Es gab nicht viel Auswahl, doch für uns war das in Ordnung. Den netten Besitzer trafen wir am nächsten Morgen, er war sehr freundlich. Die Zimmer werden nicht gereinigt für uns war das aber kein Problem, weil wir nur zwei Nächte waren. Und wir konnten Wasser und Toilettenpapiere jederzeit holen. Die Lage des Hotels ist super. Wir würden wieder buchen. Wichtig ist noch zu sagen, dass es nicht so ist, dass in allen Zimmern wie gemäss Beschreibung bei Booking Waschmaschinen zur Verfügung stehen. Wir durften aber eine Ihrer Waschmaschinen benutzen, darüber waren wir sehr froh.

Es hatte einen Wasserkocher und auch Tee, aber keinen Kaffee. Dies könnte man noch verbessern. Sonst können wir nichts Negatives sagen.

Super staff, very helpful. Drove us to airport. 10 minute walk to center of old town, where everyone joins in huge dance party from 7 to 9 pm. Very nice traditional rooms. In floor heating keeps it toasty.

Dormimos dos noches y no había servicio de limpieza en las habitaciones. La ubicación en Google mapa es incorrecta, nos costó encontrar el hotel.

Rzadko wystawiam oceny, ale tym razem niemal się zakochałam w miejscu, apartamencie i samym właścicielu. Wszystko było naprawdę doskonałe! Shangri-la ma niesamowity niepowtarzalny klimat, uliczki, place, bramy, świątynie i cuda natury. Apartament pachnący świeżością, przestronny i bardzo gustownie urządzony. A gospodarz uroczy, uprzejmy, uczynny i doskonale mówiący po angielsku. Kropką nad „i” był świetny samochód, którym Pan Lee odebrał nas z lotniska, a potem zawiózł na wycieczkę do wąwozu skaczącego tygrysa. Serdecznie dziękujemy!!!

An utterly amazing experience, we booked last minute due to issues with another hotel, the host gave us an upgrade incredible room with amazing facilities, view, perfectly cleaned and we loved every minute we spent there.

Nous étions logés dans la nouvelle partie de l’hôtel. Généreux et très agréable - tout permet un super séjour dans cette ville en hauteur. L’hôte est très sympathique et bienveillant.

Wonderful stay in Shangrila! Mr. Lee was incredibly kind and helpful - he personally picked us up at the airport and then even dropped us off at the train station at the end of our stay. The hotel was cosy, clean and full of charm. Great location and warm hospitality made us feel right at home. Highly recommend staying here! I hope to revisit one day!

Mr Lee - the owner of the place had upgraded our booking to another of his property just few doors away from Courtyard Shangri-la. It is a much bigger and newer property - actually everything looked new. Mr Lee had given us a big penthouse with sitting and ensuite downstair and a big area on the upper floor with 2 queen beds, another sitting / TV area, a large writing table, huge bathtub, and another toilet. This room can in fact stay for at least 4 persons comfortably. The property was clean, very comfortable and very quiet. It also feel secure and exclusive. Taxi or Didi can just reach up to the entrance of the property, so it is also very convenient in that sense. Mr Lee has been very kind to offer to pick us up at the train station when we arrived and drop us off when we left with his nice big 4WD. We can also enjoy our coffee at Courtyard Shangri-la in the morning for free. The property is a bit out of the busy area of Dukezong Ancient City but it is better as it is more peaceful with less people. It also has a very nice view to the Big Buddha Temple at Guishan Park in the Ancient Town (from the upper floor) - particularly when the lights are on, fantastic view! Note that this IS NOT about Courtyard Shangri-la but another newer property of the same owner. Thanks to Mr Lee for his hospitality. If I ever return to Shangri-la City, I will certainly contact Mr Lee again.

I think Mr Lee has a bigger plan for the new property, as there are kitchen, dining area, and a very nice sitting area in the new property, but he was not ready yet, and disappointed not to enjoy those facilities.

Really good location just outside of the busy streets of Shangri la. The queen room is spacious and clean.

It was close to the old town

The day we arrived nobody was at the counter as a ghost hotel. We were received by a maid who only spoke chinese and apparently did not even get that we could not speak chinese. Then the room was decent, but the curtains were dirty so I could help but I was grossed out by that and the stay was unpleaseant. No breakfast, no coffee. They just booked a cab and paid for it to make up for the inconvenience we had once arrived.

The host very friendly and provided all the information that we need. The location is good, few minutes to the center of old town. The room was clean and comfortable. Definitely will visit again!

This place is sooo amazing 🤩 it is a Tibetan inspired stay, it’s clean 5⭐️ (not dusty,did not trigger my sinus ⭐️) clean bed sheets. the highlight is it has a heated bed and floor which is god sent during snow or cold weather. Toiletries and towel provided, has a kettle in the room and some candy. Good shampoo and body wash. The location is strategic, near the ancient town, lot of food shops, walking distance The owner is so charming (and handsome like a movie star 🌟 haha) he is able to communicate in English, and he is so kind to pick us and drop us at the train station early morning 🥹 -No insects seen during my whole stay -No paranormal activity 😆

The husband and wife team is very helpful and friendly. The home cook breakfast was so tasty, and the owner prepare good latte with beautiful latte art for us! The room is clean, floor heating keeps us warm. Everything is perfect!

The hosts were so lovely, and helpful. Providing tea whenever we came back to the hotel and giving us some freshly baked cakes to sample. The first hotel I’ve been it which provides shawls and hats for guests to borrow. The room was big, and very comfortable.

A wonderful welcome by this nice young couple who has beautifully transformed this old, wooden house into an oasis of calm in the old city of Shangrila. Bedding and showering are also very pleasant.

As often in China, sound insulation (especially at the doors) is weak.

Within 10min of Walking, we could reach every angle of the ancient city. Furthermore, the room was spacious and comfortable with a charming wooden touch. But most of all, Gin and his staff made our stay memorable with their very helpful and generous manner.

Exceptional customer service by Mr Lee. Free loan for the cowboy hat and scarf for cold wear, complimentary tea and coffee as well. Even made a cheese cake for us to bring on the morning train. Excellent location. Food and shops are within minutes walk

The hotel is so pretty and the staff were very friendly and helpful as well. Just a short walk to the main shopping street with lotsa food options. Rooms were tastefully decorated with views. The floor has heating and there’s electric blankets as well to keep us warm AND 3 ADORABLE CATS

There’s no door to the toilet, just a curtain which got us freezing after showers But other than that there’s really no complaints

Close to old town centre but far away enough from the bars so it remains quiet during the night. Staff was extremely helpful and helped to order medicine when my sister was unwell with altitude sickness in the middle of the nigh.
