House had wonderful character and convenient features. Check in was very simple and autonomous. Room had all the comfortable features we could ask for and then some. Bed was very comfortable with crisp white sheets. Small extras and details in room were a nice touch. Hosts were friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend.

Outstanding beautiful place, in a neighborhood with a short, pretty walk into the colorful and fun town. Only a few rooms which made for a quiet and comfortable stay and an interesting single-table breakfast experience with a few interesting people. We learned a lot about the history of the town and the home from the owner who served the buffet breakfast. It was like being a guest in a home, not a boarding house - superior setting and accomodations.

The breakfast selection was very good. I enjoyed the hot sausages and the brioche pancakes. I also enjoyed meeting the other guests during breakfast. The house interior and decor were in line with my expectations, in a traditional style for the time period. The bedroom and bathroom were beyond what I expected. I would stay again if visiting the area.

Breakfast was available for only one hour, from 8 am to 9 am. The shower pressure seemed to be on a timer. Having long hair and the shower water continuously turning off made it difficult to shower.

The whole property is beautifully presented and the room we were allocated was very much so. It is the oldest house in the new Lunenberg with great historical interest. It was very quiet at night. The breakfast seated all eight guests at one table with the hosts avaialble to assist with the self serve including fruit, juice, coffee and delicious brioche prepared by them with turkey sausages. It is about a 10 min drive from the historic old town where parking was not a problem during our visit.

We like to travel with some food basics but there was not a fridge on our floor.

The hosts had really good suggestions for things to do in the area. Suggest they promote that service as part of reservation process.

Location was great. Breakfast was great and they worked very hard to accommodate us. Thank you!

The shower in our room (Kingfisher) is quite small for tall or bigger people.

The property is stunning - gorgeous yard with lots of garden that is well kept. I also love that it was away from the hustle and bustle of the town but not far walk.

We were in the Carriage House, adjacent to the main house. Lovely grounds, and as the weather was so good, we enjoyed the outside patio. Ample parking, plus a basket of breakfast goodies left on the table for us.

This was one of the most charming places we’ve ever stayed. The attention to detail was amazing. We stayed at the dragonfly room and everything was decorated accordingly. The room was very spacious and late check-in also worked seamlessly. The hosts were super kind and friendly and just elevated the whole experience again.

Beautiful property and location

Fantastic breakfast. A delicious fruit salad wonderful eggs, fresh bread and muffins, all served in a spectacular room.

Beautiful home & cottage in a quiet residential neighbourhood. The cottage is perfect for 2 couples and having the lovely breakfast basket was a bonus! Pleasant walk to town.

Could use some thinner pillows

The property has a great location, about a 10 min walk from the main historic area. The exterior and interior are cute and tidy, and our room had its own A/C unit. The latter came in handy on an unusually hot day and to block ambient noise . The breakfast offerings were simple but adequate and tasty. Many guests I met were from Europe and likely did not expect a full breakfast. I was not aware until we were at the house that breakfast was only offered from 8 am to 9 am. The owner was willing to provide some fare outside that time frame, if asked.

The rooms were very cozy, but unfortunately, we had the only guest room that was on the first floor of the property. (The Kingfisher Room). We therefore heard every step on every stair and in every room above us. Also, the Kingfisher room is right across from the dining area, so we heard most of the morning conversations, a few of which were loud for early morning. Turning the A/C up high helped drown out some of those sounds. Also, at the start of our stay, the housekeeper fell and hurt herself, so we did not receive any room service. That was definitely an unusual circumstance, which we understood and accepted.

Beautiful property. Joe was very warm and informative about the area. Room was spacious and bed was comfortable. Very clean. Location is a 10 minute walk into town in a lovely neighborhood.

Only criticism is that breakfast is only served from 8:00 to 9:00.

Great location just 10 minute walk from Lunenberg downtown. The hosts were welcoming and provided an excellent breakfast ! Had a recuperative night’s sleep that gave us good energy for the next day. Spacious spa bathroom.

Ja die Dusche steht frei im Raum mit einem Duschvorhang, es ist etwas schwierig zu Duschen ohne dass nicht Wasser auf den Boden kommt.

A pro and a con was that it was a bit of a walk to the centre. Parking is way easier but you do have a bit of a walk. Probably 10 minutes to the edge of the centre.

Very comfortable room in a charming period property. Beautiful setting - it’s obviously a much a loved home. All needs catered for. Joe made us feel v welcome.

No issues - would have liked a kettle & teabags instead of the pods for the coffee machine - but that’s just British fussiness not a major issue.

An exquisite property, immaculately kept. Very quiet and comfortable. Great location, walkable to Lunenburg old town.

The woman who is managing the property made sure to let us know she is doing this temporarily. Breakfast was served between 8-9 which we found to be too tight a timeframe. We’re used to a 2 hr. time slot. Early risers shouldn’t have to wait, but guests shouldn’t have to be up before 8 on vacation. The breakfast was very pedestrian. At this price, there should be hot and cold breakfast options with lots of choice. It’s not that we went hungry, but the first morning we were served scrambled eggs with sautéed cherry tomatoes but no bacon or sausage. There weren’t enough croissants for the 4 people and rye toast did not appeal. There was a fruit salad of cantaloupe and watermelon, which reappeared the next day with barely any watermelon, so just cantaloupe. The manager apologized for the cold breakfast the next day, but the reason for that is she is just part time, which isn’t acceptable at this price. The cold buffet included some deli meat and cheese, (nice European touch, but only if it is part of a larger buffet selection), grocery store bought muffins and yogurt containers. There were some cold cereals, but no berries or dried fruit for the store bought granola. Breakfast at a pricey B&B shouldn’t be less interesting than what I have in my own fridge.

Critiques are relative to the price. At $275/night, this was a disappointing property. The property has been for sale for a year and I must say, the disengagement shows, for example the two lamps by our bed had lampshades with fairly large rips. We had a spacious king room with a large bathroom, but the layout is a bit awkward and cramped. Very few surfaces to put things on without removing all the knick knacks. Nice closet but no shelf. There was a bureau but most of the stuff we take out of our suitcases would be better on a table or shelf. Perhaps a pet peeve, but given the size of the room we were surprised there was no suitable work surface. My husband always appreciates some kind of desk and chair as he always brings work and was disappointed that neither the room nor the living room had anything suitable, so he had to balance his laptop on his knees. The window shade is a roman blind and the cord is too short to allow the blind to be open enough for air, but low enough to ensure privacy. Our room faced the garage which has been converted into an AirBNB that can hold a group of people. The guests there often sat outside directly in the sightline of our window. We had to use the Britta Water Filter jug to prop up the blinds to just the right height, so we didn’t have to close them completely. The bathroom is large, but the shelving unit is filled with knickknacks. There is a pedestal sink but only a very narrow slightly slanted shelf above. There were lots of hooks for hanging towels, (very good quality), robes, etc. The light switch was connected to the fan was very, very loud so we avoided turning on the light as much as possible. The tub is a luxurious spa tub, but the controls are in the center of the wall which are very hard to reach and turn on without getting wet and I am tall with long arms.

Das Zimmer war nett eingerichtet, allerdings hatten wir nicht das gebuchte Queensize Bett, sondern 2 Einzelbetten. Das Frühstücksbuffet hatte eine tolle Auswahl. Parken war auch kein Problem. Wenn man einigermaßen gut zu Fuss ist, kann man problemlos in den Ort laufen. Check-in erfolgte problemlos über Zugangscode und dann fand man einen Briefumschlag mit dem Zimmerschlüssel und allen. notwendigen Informationen.

Mein Mann fand die Dusche in einer alten Badewanne auf Füßen nicht ganz so toll, aber sie hat funktioniert. Ausserdem wären wir mit dem gebuchten Queensize Bett glücklicherweise.

Très bien situé à proximité du port de Lunenburg et des restaurants, dans un environnement calme, ce B&B nous a proposé une chambre très propre et confortable. L'arrivée autonome est un plus.

Le plat chaud du petit-déjeuner, pas vraiment à la hauteur de l'ensemble des prestations.

Quite hard pillows

We were in Dragonfly room and it was beautiful. The whole building has lovely period furniture. The room was spacious and there was also a comfortable lounge. The fridge was communal but as it was right outside our door that was fine. Breakfast was also at a communal table (up to 8 people) and we enjoyed chatting to other guests.

Breakfast is hot one day and cold the next. My personal preference would have been for cold each day. The quiche lorraine on the first day was tasty but not my taste for breakfast. I should have done as another lady did and taken it away with me.

The Carriage House was a nice separate building from the main house. It was well equipped to prepare food and the master bedroom and bathroom were pleasant. There were two seating areas and a second bedroom that we did not need. At the back there was garden furniture and even a barbecue although we did not use it. Parking was very simple on the road at the back of the house

Our arrival didn't get off to a good start when I discovered from my instructions in an envelope upon entering the property that we had not been given the room we had booked with included breakfast. I phoned the owner and had quite an unpleasant conversation. He said there had been a problem with their booking system and made it seem as if it was my fault. I had in fact booked months in advance. He could only offer me the Carriage House or give me my money back. He said we could not be served breakfast either. I had been looking forward to that. We had had a long drive and we were not in the mood to go elsewhere so we accepted the Carriage House with a small monetary compensation. I received this the following morning with an written apology from his manager. I appreciate that sometimes errors occur, but I felt that this was very badly handled. A sincere apology and an offer of compensation should have been the starting point. What's more It would have been a lot better if the conversation could have been in person rather than on the phone. I never did meet the owner or the manager.

My husband and I were disappointed with the b&b stay for the price. No personal touch that you should get from a b&b. Owners/manager was basically non existent. When we did see the manager at breakfast she was impersonal. The place is for sale so maybe they just dont care.

No staff around. Advertised hot/cold breakfast so we were expecting a cooked meal offering. Manager came out first day and said continental offering only after a other couple inquired. Couldn't get the TV to work and no one around to ask. Instructions were in the room but could not get roku to work. Not a big deal, but already disappointed that no one was around.

Das Haus ist sehr hellhörig (eben altes Holzhaus) und das Frühstück könnte etwas reichhaltiger sein.

Eigentlich alles hat uns gefallen. Die Unterkunft liegt in ruhiger Lage und man kommt dennoch nach einem kurzen Spaziergang in das Zentrum. Das Zimmer war sehr schön. Das Personal ist herzlich. Die gediegene Atmosphäre rundet alles ab.

Our only meh moment was that the mattresses were very stiff for my daughters. I had no problem with the mattresses. The pillows were too thick for all of us. We ended up using throw pillows from sofa as they were thinner. We loved your property and your decor and design. Would gladly book again.

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt! Die Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich und haben uns viele Ausflugstipps gegeben. Unser Zimmer war gemütlich eingerichtet und super sauber, das Frühstück sehr lecker. Die Lage der Unterkunft ist ebenfalls sehr gut, Sehenswürdigkeiten und Restaurants sind fußläufig erreichbar. Insgesamt sehr zu empfehlen.

It was amazing to stay in this heritage property, and you can tell the owners take good care of it. Check in was easy and we were given a key and a code so we could come and go as we liked. Breakfast was great and they make the best homemade muffins! We had a great time chatting with other guests - this was my first time staying in a traditional B&B. The room was very clean and well appointed.

Just a note for others - there was a note in the guest book about leaving a gratuity for your housekeeper ($5 being the accepted rate). Considering the cost of the stay, I would expect these types of service fees to be included in the rate, or at least be given as a heads up prior to the stay as it is very rare to carry cash these days.

Eine Zeitreise in die gute alte Zeit, das Herrenhaus ist stilecht mit Antiqutäten und passendem Mobiliar ausgestattet. Die beiden Gastgeber sind ein perfekt eingespieltes Team und die morgentlichen Gesprächsrunden beim Frühstück ein wahrer Genuss. Lunenburg Zentrum und Hafen sind in weingen Minuten zu Fuss zu erreichen, die Lage erhöht auf eiem Hügel liegend und in ruhiger Wohngegend. Hier grüßt man noch die Nachbarn, wenn man abends auf einen Sundowner im Garten sitzt und den Tag ausklingen läßt.
