Knockaguilla House Bed & Breakfast

We loved our stay at the Knockaguilla House and recommend it highly. Our room was large and well-decorated with lots of amenities. We particularly liked the comfortable bed (and very soft bedding), sitting area, and modern bathroom. The breakfast was excellent - fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals, breads and pastries, meats and cheeses, and great coffee. We really enjoyed talking with our hostess, Marie, as well. She was very kind and welcoming, and had a wealth of knowledge about the area. We will definitely stay again if we are back in the area!

Our host was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast area was cheery and very clean. We stayed here two nights and found our room was very comfortable. We loved Doolin and would definitely stay here again.

Mention spéciale au petit-déjeuner, avec des produits frais et de grande qualité, un vrai régal. Et surtout, un immense merci à Marie pour son accueil chaleureux et sa gentillesse. Nous recommandons cette adresse les yeux fermés !

Marie was so friendly and lovely, and communicated well before and throughout the stay. The breakfast was nice and plentiful and the table we chose each morning had a lovely view out into the countryside. Marie’s homemade brown bread was very good and makes you wonder why everybody doesn’t use the same magic as she does🙂. The house and rooms were perfectly clean, and well looked after. The countryside location was easy and picturesque.

There was nothing we “didn’t like”, it was just that the room and bed felt quite small, the only window is a skylight so you can’t look out. There is no other comfy shared space accessible to guests to relax in. So when compared to other stays we’ve had, it’s missing any extra special details, yet comes at a pretty high price.

We had a wonderful stay at Knockaguilla House. From the moment we arrived, Marie made us feel incredibly welcome. She is such a warm, friendly and attentive host. The house itself is beautiful and immaculately clean. Our room was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. The location is perfect for exploring Doolin and the surrounding area. Wonderfully quiet and rural, while still being within easy reach of Doolin and the Cliffs of Moher. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely recommend Knockaguilla House to anyone visiting the area.

We loved everything! The bed and linens are the best we’ve had after 16 nights around Ireland! The decor of the house and room was excellent, TV worked great and it had all the necessities for Ireland. The house is about 10 min outside Doolin, enough to be private and enjoy the countryside but be close enough to activities, pubs and restaurants. The breakfast was ample and the homeowners brown bread was the absolute best we’ve had after over 25 meals. Ditto for banana nut muffins. We highly recommend staying here - TOP NOTCH!

Clean, homey, had everything we needed. Friendly owners. The breakfast included homemade bread and muffins, which were fantastic.

It was a bit out of the way, which is what made it nice and quiet, but definitely need a vehicle to get to, and the roads are very dark at night.

Marie è stata gentilissima con noi, disponibile e cortese ci ha accolto in casa sua! La colazione eccezionale con una vista dalla finestra bellissima e rilassante! Molto raccomandato!

Marie is a hospital and talkative host, always nice and smiling. Her homemade brown bread is the best we have tried in Ireland! Breakfast overall is rich and delicious. The room is very spacious and comfortable. It boasts a calm, bucolic view on the typical Irish countryside, which in County Clare is quite "flat" (no significant hills) but still lovable, with its green and cows everywhere. Parking lot provided.

The bath tub is not my favourite place to have a shower, but this is just a preference of mine: it is anyway roomy, clean and brand new.

We found a beautiful, peaceful temporary home here and felt right at home from the very first moment. Everything is furnished with great attention to detail and exceptionally well-maintained. The continental breakfast, featuring homemade bread and delicious muffins, was a real highlight every morning. The warm hospitality made our stay perfect. We can wholeheartedly recommend this accommodation and would love to come back anytime.

Ruhige Lage, absolut sauber, große Auswahl beim Frühstück mit vielen selbstgemachten Sachen und sehr nette Gastgeberin. Alles wurde liebevoll hergerichtet und aufeinander abgestimmt. Wonderful place! 5 minutes from Doolin and 10 minutes from the Cliffs of Moher... FANTASTIC! Everything was perfect! And the owner was so kind and friendly! Doolin is truly a beautiful place! Don't hesitate to book a room in this property!

Maree was the perfect host providing a very warm welcome and helping us navigate through the beautiful town of Doolin and its breathtaking scenery. Our breakfast was one of the best we have had in ou 6 weeks aboard in the UK and Ireland with a lovely variety of fresh food to choose from.

Marie and John were very accomodating, especially when we needed to leave early one day - they made sure that breakfast was available for us. The house was very easy to find and there was plenty of parking. I would definitely stay there again if we are ever in the area.

Cannot pick something specific as the entire experience was extremely good. If I must, our hosts were the most incredible people, kind and helpful. Always with a smile, they do this day after say. Thank you for the incredible time we had at your place!

Traumhafte Lage in der Nähe von Doolin. Dort ist man in max 10 Minuten mit dem Auto und es gibt genug Pubs zum Essen. Durch die Lage mitten zwischen Feldern ist es auch sehr ruhig. Die Besitzerin ist extrem nett, hat frühs immer Zeit für einen kleinen Morning- Talk und ist sehr bemüht, dass alles passt. Das Frühstück ist großzügig mit viel verschiedenen Obstsorten, Croissants, Bagel, Toast, Brown Bred, Käse, Wurst etc. Unser Zimmer war komfortabel mit allem was man braucht, sehr bequemen Betten, 2 Stühlen. Einen Kleiderschrank gab es allerdings nicht, man konnte aber etwas an einer Kleiderstange aufhängen.

Wenn man das Zimmer unten hat, hört man die Schritte der Bewohner im Zimmer darüber recht deutlich. Aber das ist der Bauweise des Hauses geschuldet und betrifft nicht die Zimmer im 1. Stock.

Het was er rustig. Het was een geschikte uitvals basis om de omgeving te verkennen. Er was een ontbijt buffet met een ruim aanbod, aan brood en vers fruit. Het was er netjes en schoon.

Wat tegen viel, was dat er bij het ontbijt geen aanbod was aan hot food, dwz geen eieren, bacon enz. Je krijgt na het boeken een mail waarin dit wordt vermeld, zodat je op de hoogte bent. In diezelfde mail staat bv ook dat je welliswaar een ligbad hebt maar dit ivm warmwater capaciteit niet kunt gebruiken, je kunt alleen douchen. Nu had ik voor deze reis 13 verschillende b&b en hotels geboekt via booking. Na het boeken krijg je van iedere lokatie nog meerdere mails, dat zijn er zoveel die lees je dan niet meer in detail. Maar los van de mail, ik had dit niet verwacht, ik vind het voor de prijs per nacht een gebrek aan service. We zijn hier 3 nachten geweest.

Das Knockaguilla House war unsere Lieblingsunterkunft während unserer Zeit in Irland! Marie, die Gastgeberin, war äußerst freundlich und herzlich. Die Zimmer waren schön eingerichtet und sauber, das Bett war super bequem. Im Flur und Zimmer gab es einen angenehmen, weichen Teppich. Wir fanden außerdem das Frühstück in Buffetform super. Wir würden jederzeit gern wieder dort übernachten.

It’s a beautiful B&B — exactly what you want in the Irish countryside. Marie, the proprietor, has thoughtfully curated the experience and every detail is perfect. She is sweet and accommodating in every way. Breakfast was delicious and included homemade brown bread that I could live on forever. A 15-minute drive to the Cliffs of Mohr and less than 10 to Doolin, it’s quiet but central with so much to love.

The Host was wonderfully kind. Breakfast was delicious - best brown bread I’ve ever had. The room was beautiful - large and airy with such a pretty view. Shower was hot with good pressure and a sweet tea service with the addition chocolates and drinking water was left in the room. Pub recommendations were spot on.
