Very central to where we needed to be. The room was spacious. Very modern. Lovely view from the window. There was everything and more you could possibly need in the room. There was attention to every detail. Very clean. Bed and bedding was luxurious.

we are 2 mature adult ladies . 2nd day of stay we learnt that Vicky had entered our apartment without any request from her to be allowed to do so and we were out at the time !! she said this was to empty bins and flush toilets !!! totally not neccesary and an invasion of our privacy , she also states that she always does this !

Excellent location on High Street in Lewes - very convenient for Waitrose/local restaurants. The bedroom was very quiet. The accommodation was more spacious than I anticipated with sitting room and small kitchen as well as the bedroom. It has been created and decorated by someone with an eye for design and it made for a very comfortable stay

Great location and free parking Nicely decorated, everything we needed was there. Great little kitchen - plenty of tea and coffee provided along with milk and few other bits on the fridge.

Entrance to parking was very narrow ( but we got used to it) Would have preferred a door down to the lower floor to make it more private, but again it was fine.

We had the whole ground floor apartment plus cute outside space in this absolutely gorgeous town house right in the centre of Lewes: spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated with some really thoughtful touches. Loved listening to the sound of the water feature from the owners garden, upstairs. Bonus: it’s 50 yards from Gail’s.

The en-suite shower was out of bounds: we had to use the shower off the sitting room. Not a big deal but could have been better communicated.

Large spacious room, well equipped. Comfortable bed. Great shower. Location is perfect. Parking is always a good thing to have.

Stairs to to attic can get tedious but that's what you get with an attic room, so we new what to expect. So only a tiny minor issue for us.

Welcome drinks in the fridge- very welcome in this heat!

A beautifully presented property in a great location in the heart of Lewes, with the added bonus of a parking space.

The property is ideally located in the heart of Lewes.The bedroom was cool and quiet so we slept well. Everything we needed was provided in the kitchen and the bathroom products are lovely.

The dining and lounge space was disappointing, the seating wasn't comfortable.i

Not much room for clothes, couple of cupboards needed fixing, very small amount of toilet roll provided. Room bit stuffy in hot weather.

location was ideal for what we needed to do. Lovely and clean throughout. Thoughtful touches like fresh milk, cold water and some drinks in the fridge. Good quality toiletries and the fluffiest towels ever. Perfect place to stay and having the use of the small courtyard garden added to the experience. Property has parking which is rare in Lewes. We plan to stay again sometime

Loved my stay. Location was perfect- right downtown and one didn't have to climb hills :) 6 min from the train station. The apartment was so tastefully furnished, super clean, great bathroom with amazing gels and such, and bed was very comfortable. Also the kitchen had a few amenties so one could bring some food in and it was just perfect! Check-in instructions were very clear and finding the unit was very easy.

Didn't love the 4th floor walkup - but anyhow, was definitely worth it! I got used to it :)

Location is fabulous. I had a large bedroom and a living room in the basement. Both were spacious; the Wi-Fi was functional; Vicky communicated very well, so everything went smoothly; I could leave my luggage in the hallway for several hours before my departure from Lewes. It was very helpful.

We stayed in the basement Courtyard Apartment. Vicky was a wonderful host and we had a fantastic time. The property is perfectly situated in central Lewes and with the benefit of off street parking not too far away. The directions to the property and access details are easy. Everything we could have wanted was taken care of. The apartment was spotlessly clean and on arrival Vicky ensured there was milk for tea and plenty of tea and coffee available. In the morning she even provided fresh fruit and orange juice which was really unexpected and very welcome. Everyday the apartment and bathrooms were cleaned. This was a lovely surprise which we were not expecting. We would highly recommend this property and would definitely stay again. The bed was super comfortable and we had several great nights sleep. Thanks Vicky!

Great location and very friendly hostess. Room was beautiful with many luxurious touches, especially the library and the stand-alone bathtub.

We were given the opportunity to upgrade to a room "at the top of the stairs" ... we didn't know it was six flights of stairs.

Great location in central Lewes - easy access to all the shops. Gail's down the road meant we had coffee and pastry for breakfast. Apartment was spacious and warm. Fridge had milk and a couple of beers - thoughtful gesture by owner. Convenient to have parking space close by.

I didn’t know the room was above the owners property, I felt like I didn’t want to make too much noise when I came back late one evening walking round!

Die Unterkunft war sehr sehr schön! Die Vermieterin war sehr aufmerksam und hat regelmässig frische Handtücher gebracht. Sehr positiv war auch der vorhandene Parkplatz! Dies ist eine Seltenheit in Lewes!!

It was in walking distance of our sons where we were spending Christmas Day. It was at the top of a number of stairs but it wasn’t too difficult, the room itself was excellent, roomy and had everything we wanted. We would like to thank Vicky who was very accommodating during a difficult time where due to illness we weren’t sure if we were going to make it, many thanks for your considerations.

The only difficult thing I should mention is be careful when approaching the lane you need to go down, it is extremely tight and you need to have your wits about you,

The room was right in the centre of Lewes with a reserved car parking space (we were self driving). The entire property was furnished to a very high standard, with modern shower room and a free standing Victorian style bath. Bed very comfortable and they had complimentary tea/coffee. Very convenient for the station as well as we went to watch Brighton play football which is one stop away on the train. All in all, excellent throughout.

No information on how to control central heating but did work out it via green button in lobby TV in sitting room on the small size as settee opposite end of room. Settee not that comfortable as not a full length back

A perfect two night stay in a lovely large room. We explored the town and attended a wedding. Thank you for the little extras in the fridge too :)

A pity that we couldn't stay longer!

Vicki welcomed us and gave a good tour of the facilities. Milk and fresh orange juice awaited us in the fridge. We had the whole of the basement and I'm not sure if that is always the case as there were more facilities than I expected like a washing machine and dishwasher. However the dishwasher was no use as there were only 2 of anything so you had to wash up anyway. The shower was great with a nice control, great bath products. We didn't go into the courtyard as the weather was rather dull. Good internet but no phone reception on my esim. Great location with a mainly flat walk from the station and there was a bus stop just outside. Fabulous bakery a few doors away which was open on a Sunday. Close to everything, right off the high street but very quiet. Vicki was very obliging offering to give us a lift across Lewes We were able to leave our cases on the day we booked out as we had time to kill before we could access our next destination.

A couple of small things. The TV was in the bedroom and not the living room where there was a screen if you wanted to stream anything. The couch really only sat one as the back only went half way along, it was very uncomfortable

This is such a lovely place to stay. Vicky makes every effort to make you comfortable and make sure you feel at home. The apartment is very comfortable and has everything you need. The bed is especially comfy, which is always great when you are away from home. My husband liked the ingenuity of the easel in the bedroom to hold the telly so much he immediately looked up buying an easel and I think is planning to get one! The appartment feels luxurious, with lovely toiletries. We would highly recommend a stay here if you are looking for somewhere in Lewes or fancy exploring the area.

We loved the property, I would just say the parking space is down a very narrow alleyway, I was not sure I would get my car through at first but when I saw someone else do it I went for it and it was fine. But if you have a big car it’s just worth knowing that in advance.

The location is fantastic! Right in the middle of Lewes. The house is beautiful and is tastefully furnished with everything you need for a short stay.

The basement apartment does not have it's own lockable front door. When you enter the property via the main door and walk downstairs, the living room and kitchen are accessible to anyone who is in the building. This means that anyone who knows the code for the front door (i.e. everyone who is staying in the other rooms/apartments in the house) can simply walk down stairs and be in your space. It also means that you can hear everyone coming and going as there is no door to block noise. The sound of people walking/running up and down the stairs often felt like it was directly outside my bedroom door which made me quite anxious. As a solo female traveller, I found my stay uncomfortable as I wasn't able to fully relax in the space. It is worth noting, however, that the bedroom (with ensuite bathroom) is lockable so I locked my belongings in when I went out, and locked the door when I was in. I messaged Vicky to inform her of my concerns and to recommend that this is made very clear when booking (or, ideally, put a door in). I see that others have given the same feedback on their stays so hopefully this makes a difference to folk in the future. As I said, it's a stunning house in the perfect area, but had I have known the that there was no door to the apartment, I would have booked somewhere that I could have used more as an apartment and less as a room with a bathroom on it.

I hadn’t appreciated that the basement apartment doesn’t have a door to separate it from the main staircase. Having looked at reviews since, I see it is mentioned but it wasn’t clear when I booked. I felt a little exposed as a result, particularly as a solo traveller.

Located right in the centre of town. Lovely spacious, clean apartment - comfortable bed. Relaxing environment - nice just to spend time in the room (with its wonderful bookshelf).

Spacious, clean, it had everything we wanted with nice touches such as milk left in the fridge. The location is amazing on the High Street (but quiet, our bedroom was at the back of the house), it’s so convenient for restaurants with parking included just a short walk away. Lewes itself is a lovely place, just walking along the High Street looking at the historic buildings is an experience in itself. Vicky was an excellent host answering our questions and providing advice we wanted on restaurants.

Lovely location - much cheaper than the local premier inn and way nicer. Great spot and handy for the local park run. We were here for a wedding and all worked smoothly! Hosts are great.

Vicky the owner communicated well, was super helpful and friendly. Myself and my daughter stayed for one night to visit Glyndebourne. It was a beautiful room with luxury products. Spotless with a comfortable bed and good shower!

The parking is tight to drive into if you have a larger car. The noisy seagull wake up haha.

Had a lovely stay. Use of downstairs basement along with a little terrace which we didn’t use due to weather and we were out most of the day. Free parking in a private car park for the length of stay. The host was on hand, very friendly and helpful.. Clean facilities and nice selection of refreshments. Another great stay at Montys. Vicky is an excellent host and always responsive to any communication. The accommodation is very comfortable and clean with tasteful decor. The location, in the centre of Lewes, gives access to many different activities. Lovely walks on The South Downs, local art galleries and a fantastic choice of pubs, cafes and restaurants. Easy access to London and Brighton on the train. I highly recommend staying here.

Perfect accommodations in the heart of Lewes. We had the room at the top but the stairs were not a problem. Vicki was a wonderful host! A big room with lots of high quality touches. The bed was big and very comfortable, small kitchenette with everything we could need. Lovely bathroom with a big shower! We loved our stay here for Bonfire night! Perfect location!
