Villa Akasa is an amazing place in a beautiful location. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, and the breakfast was delicious. The adorable dogs made my stay even more special , they are so sweet! I would definitely recommend staying here.

The place is located very close to famous cafes with south cliff views. The breakfast was a unique experience for us (thanks to the amazing staff), it was very well managed, despite many guests everything went smoothly. Lastly the host (Sid) was very gentle and friendly, he guided us for Scooter renting, good restaurants options and ensured we have a pleasant stay.

We booked the second most expensive room of the property, it was in front of the pool and dining area. But the room did not have had a TV (which was strange as its provided in hotels/ properties which are much cheaper than this one). It did not bother much, but it would have been better with the TV (or some portable projector for watching movies etc.)

The stay was very peaceful and laid back with tastefully furnished rooms. The complimentary breakfast was also really good. The attending staff were courteous and responsive. Highly recommended.

Charming villa rooms set in a beautiful garden, located on a quiet road a little away from Varkala’s main beach. There’s a great restaurant just across the street, and South Cliff Beach is only a 10-minute walk away. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, even arranging a driver for us to Kottayam. A lovely and peaceful place to stay!

The location, proximity to the beach, the villas themselves… no superlative is enough to describe this. The attention given to us by the team was wonderful. This was my baby’s first vacation and she had a lovely time, a testament to great hospitality.

Our stay was truly wonderful. The homestay is surrounded by lush greenery, offering a peaceful and refreshing escape from the city. Waking up to the sounds of birds and enjoying the calm natural surroundings made the experience very relaxing. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the hosts were warm, welcoming, and attentive. The food was fresh, homely, and delicious, adding to the overall experience.

Loved our tranquil stay at Villa Akasa. We appreciated the beautiful plants that kept the gardens cool and the pool area. Loved the stone outdoor shower (you have to be ok being up and close with nature so don’t come here if you are not ok with that as a few leaves fall into your natural shower and you may see an ant). Yummy fruit bowl breakfast, good AC and a variety of breakfast options that you order the night before.

A little bit further out on south cliff but offset by being the beach and next to two of our favourite cafes in Varkala.

We stayed at Villa Akasa to celebrate a special occasion, and honestly the property was a very pleasant surprise. The location is great. The beach is 5 mins away (we used scooter to get there in 2), and my family ended up going down to the beach every single morning! There’s also a really good cafe (Trip is life) just opposite to the property with v.good coffee and amazing view. The room was comfortable and there were plants and greenery everywhere, which gave the whole place a really calm feel. The property is beautifully done up. The pool was clean and well looked after, and the view from the dining area was gorgeous. Breakfast was fresh and well cooked! Most importantly, the host and staff were friendly and always happy to help. The thing that really stayed with us: it was our daughter’s birthday during the stay, and the host sent up a cake for her without us even asking. Such a sweet, thoughtful gesture and it honestly made her day. If you’re heading to Varkala, we’d really recommend it. We’d love to come back.

It was expensive and they did petty to charge 400 for a cup that was broken by mistake by a baby, do not expect this from a hotel that charges so much for the stay. Also it was difficult to find the location and the care takers did not pick the call when looking for a room.

Without question the best Homestay we have ever stayed in. A wonderful environment, beautifully laid out with really friendly and courteous staff. A great dining area overlooking a small but perfectly formed pool. The breakfasts were fresh and delicious and we also opted for home cooked suppers every night, which were amazing. Our stay was truly wonderful.

It's a little away from the main part of Varkala but that has its advantages too. Easy walk to South Varkala beach.

Na een lange rit door de drukke straten van Varkala hadden we nooit verwacht in zo’n oase van rust terecht te komen. Zodra de poort van Villa Akasa openging, voelde het alsof alle drukte meteen van ons afviel. Overal zagen we groen, mooie planten en rustige plekjes om even te ontspannen.Het gaf ons direct een gevoel van rust. We werden warm ontvangen door Raju en Babu.Vanaf het eerste moment voelden we ons welkom. Tijdens het hele verblijf waren ze ontzettend behulpzaam en servicegericht. Je merkt aan alles dat ze echt om hun gasten geven.Terwijl we naar onze kamer liepen, viel meteen op hoe sfeervol de homestay is ingericht. Alles voelde verzorgd en met aandacht opgebouwd.De kamer zelf was knus, schoon en rook heerlijk fris.Maar het absolute hoogtepunt voor ons was de badkamer met open dak. Dat was echt prachtig gedaan. Juist dat soort details maken een verblijf bijzonder. Later op de dag ontmoetten we de zoon van de eigenaresse. Zijn ontspannen en laid-back uitstraling paste perfect bij de sfeer van Villa Akasa zelf. Waar je ook loopt op het terrein, overal zie je groen en mooie hoekjes om te zitten. Er lopen honden rond die rustig dichtbij komen zonder opdringerig te zijn. Dat gaf de plek voor ons een extra huiselijk gevoel. Door de LPG-crisis werd er geen diner voor gasten geserveerd. Wel werden ontbijt, snacks, fruit en drankjes met veel aandacht verzorgd. Het eten dat voor het personeel werd gekookt rook iedere keer ongelooflijk lekker. Na alle lange reizen vonden we hier precies de rust die we nodig hadden. Dank je wel Siddarth, Raju en Babu — jullie hebben ons verblijf echt onvergetelijk gemaakt.

The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The ambiance around the villa was calm and refreshing — the perfect escape to unwind and enjoy Varkala. What really made the experience special was the incredible hospitality of the hosts and staff. Everyone was extremely friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist with anything we needed. Their attention to detail and genuine care for guests made our stay even more memorable. The location is also excellent — close enough to enjoy the vibrant Varkala vibe, beaches, and cafes, while still offering a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Mais cette partie de la falaise semblait bien mieux que l’autre. - prix peut être un peu élevé pour l’Inde selon nous mais peut être normal pour une station balnéaire - du double vitrage serait le top du top mais pas très courant en Inde je crois donc c’est très bien comme ça

Der Pool war super und trotz der Hitze schön kühl bezüglich der wunderschönen Fragipani Bäumen. Da wir zu dieser Zeit wahrscheinlich die einzigen Gäste waren, hatten wir den Pool für uns.💦😊

Trotz der kleinen Snack- und Getränkekarte konnten wir nur noch Wasser und Früchte bestellen, ich nehme an ebenfalls bezüglich Saisonende.

Traumhafte Unterkunft in Varkala. Zauberhaftes Personal und eine besondere Gastgeberin mit gutem Geschmack für eine wunderschöne Einrichtung. Wir wurden mit wundervollem Essen verwöhnt und uns wurde jeder Wunsch erfüllt. Wir fühlten uns als Familie sehr wohl und willkommen. Eine Woche hier half uns, in Indien in Ruhe anzukommen und unsere Abenteuerreise zu starten. Wir hatten das große Zimmer im Obergeschoss für eine Woche mit großartigem Balkon, das war für uns zu dritt einfach fantastisch. North and south cliff, sowie ein großartiges Ayurvedazentrum in unmittelbarer Nähe.

Quiet location on Varkala's South Cliff with only 5 minute walk to the beach. We booked a room with outdoor patio and really enjoyed sitting out there in the evenings. The room was really spacious and beautifully decorated. Also loved the outdoor shower! The highlight is definitely the swimming pool, which can be enjoyed at all times of the day thanks to the shade from the trees. The landscaping has been so well thought out. It truly felt like a little bit of luxury staying here and we loved it!

We had a truly wonderful stay at Villa Akasa and are incredibly grateful to have experienced such a beautiful place. The entire property is absolutely stunning — from the charming architecture of the houses to the tasteful furnishings and impeccable cleanliness. We especially loved the peaceful atmosphere: waking up to birdsong in the morning and relaxing by the lovely pool, where there was always enough shade to enjoy some quiet and tranquility. The location is excellent, set on the quieter south cliff, offering less hustle and bustle while still being close to everything you need for a few perfect days by the beach. The staff were exceptionally attentive and friendly, making us feel welcome at all times, and the food was absolutely delicious. A truly special place that we would recommend without hesitation!

Er wordt regelmatig vuurtjes in de buurt aangestoken waardoor alles stinkt Er staat dat je er kan eten maar dat blijkt niet het geval te zijn. We hadden een lunchpakket meegekregen omdat we een vroege lange treinreis gingen maken, in vergelijking met het ruime ontbijt was het een trieste snack, heel jammer we hadden er wel voor betaald. Er zijn veel goedkopere overnachtingmogelijkheden in de buurt die wellicht niet zo luxe zijn maar dit is voor Indiaasche begrippen heel duur.

Great choice for Varkala. If you’re looking for a gem a little away from the hustle of Varkala north, this is a great pick. We loved it. The bungalows are made with style and Balinese inspiration. The pool is beautiful and the breakfast is delicious. Good massage available just across the street.

Best breakfast of our stay in Kerala, the team is incredibly kind and went out of their way to be helpful, the room is quite large with beautiful local prints. We were fans of the open air bathroom. Location was great, just a 10 minute walk to the beach and close to lots of bars and cafes while still being removed enough to create the sense of a tranquil oasis.

Wunderschöner Ort, wir hatten ein sehr großes Zimmer im 1.Obergeschoss mit einem riesigen Dach und einem Balkon. Alles war super liebevoll gemacht, super sauber und das Personal war extrem freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wärmste Empfehlung! Direkt gegenüber gibt es ein mega gutes Café/Restaurant oder man kann in der Villa Abendessen. Zum Meer sind es ein paar Minuten. Yippieeeee

Nous avons très mal dormi pendant les deux nuits. Notre chambre était située côté rue, avec un bruit permanent de voitures qui passent et des aboiements de chiens toute la nuit. À partir de 4 heures du matin, l’appel à la prière de la mosquée située juste à côté commence, suivi ensuite par des chants/musique hindous qui prennent le relais jusqu’au lever du jour (un haut parleur est situé dans la rue, à proximité de la chambre) Il est donc quasiment impossible de se reposer correctement. Nous avons été très surpris, car nous n’avions lu aucun commentaire mentionnant ce niveau de nuisance sonore sur Booking. Si nous avions su, nous n’aurions pas réservé cet hôtel. Cela a malheureusement gâché nos deux journées à Varkala, car nous étions épuisés. Très frustrant car c’est l’hôtel le plus cher de notre séjour en Inde, et l’établissement où on a le moins bien dormi…

We loved our stay its understated elegance. Everything is thought out with beautiful table linens and sheets. The staff are so kind and friendly making us feel so welcome. The gardens are lovely as is the pool. It’s a short walk to the beach where we had a morning swim before the delicious breakfast!

Villa Akasa could act as a model for how to run a homestay. The staff are the best, our room was fantastic, the breakfast and dinner amazing.

The shower could do with being warmer!

Sehr gepflegte, hübsche Unterkunft mit geräumigen Zimmern, einem schönen Garten mit erfrischendem Pool, sehr leckerem Frühstück (wir haben immer die Südindische Wahl getroffen, es gibt aber auch „Continental-Optionen“) und auch das Abendessen, was wir an zwei von sechs Abenden dort gegessen haben, zählt zu den besten unserer Reise. Man ist schnell zu Fuß am Strand oder bei anderen Restaurants und Bars. Das Personal ist super hilfsbereit und freundlich. Es wird auf Nachhaltigkeit geachtet.

A perfect and serene getaway - set in nature, close to Varkala attractions, we didn’t want to leave. The staff are so helpful and the meals among the best food we ate in Kerala.

This is a lovely, relaxed place from which to explore Varkala. The team are so friendly, breakfast is really good and the pool is perfect. The rooms are very spacious with an attached outside ensuite bathroom. The shower and hot water level was excellent. We loved the outside seating area. It was perfect for a game of cards or just reading a book.

Villa Akasa is a true hidden gem in Varkala, it is peaceful, beautifully designed, and full of charm. The rooms are spacious and spotless, with lots of privacy and the open-air shower is an unforgettable highlight that makes every day feel special. The recently added pool and dining area are stunning and elevate the whole experience, offering the perfect spot to relax or enjoy one of their delicious homemade meals. Sidharth the host, his family as well as the staff are exceptionally warm and attentive, making you feel genuinely cared for from the moment you arrive. I have spent quite a while researching accomodations in Varkala and this is by far the nicest, even compared to the high-end hotels that can be found in the area. Overall, Villa Akasa is the perfect blend of style, comfort, tranquility, and authentic hospitality, a place you’ll never want to leave.

Beautiful place to stay in Varkala. It’s outside the main hustle of the cliffs (ideal for us), but still easily walkable when the heat has died down. It is directly opposite one of the best cafes in Varkala, so you don’t have to even go far for decent food and coffee. Hosts were lovely, breakfast large portions, and the pool glorious!

Not an issue for us, but the bathroom for our room was outside (still connected, just open air). It was very pretty but do expect critters, so consider whether that’s something you’re ok with before booking.

We stayed here for a few days with our 3-year-old son. We've traveled a lot in Kerala. This accommodation has in comparison to others a very high standard of cleanliness. The staff is incredibly friendly and can answer any questions you might have. The food is very authentic and delicious. A major advantage is the shaded pool, where you can relax and cool off during the midday heat. we have been to Varkala a few times before but this was the first time to the south cliff region which is much less crowded and relaxing than the more popular north cliff. We highly recommend Villa Akasa if you want to be close to the beach but still enjoy idyllic privacy away from mass tourism.

I had a truly wonderful stay, spotless and stylish room, exceptionally friendly owner who would do anything to help you, great service throughout, and a location that made exploring the area effortless. Villa Akasa was truly a home away from home. My mum and I absolutely loved our stay and the two days we spent there were incredibly peaceful. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated, with handmade fabrics that gave it a lovely artisanal feel. The outdoor shower was a wonderful experience. The beautiful lush green surroundings gave the whole place a quiet, oasis feel. We were initially concerned about the mosquitoes due to an allergic reaction, but the Villa Akasa team were so helpful and provided repellent sticks, which made a big difference. The food was the best we had in Kerala - so fresh, flavoursome, and clearly made with care. The team were great with my nut allergy. The owners, Sid and his mum, are genuinely lovely people with the kindest hearts - and Raju and Babu were just as wonderful. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming and caring. We felt so well looked after throughout our stay. Their dogs are also gorgeous! Sid also provided us with some great shopping recommendations - thank you again!! Thank you SO much to the entire Villa Akasa team. You have truly built and run a beautiful place. We hope to visit again!

There was some traffic noise and construction pollution (dust / smog) from the nearby road which could be heard from the room (as our room backed onto the road). However, this is to be expected and did not put us off - but just flagging!

This is a beautiful property, and rooms are immaculately furnished and spotlessly clean. Each little suite has its own private patio (ours even had its own private garden and outdoor shower). There is also the cutest serene pool and relaxing area…. again kept absolutely pristine. The owners (Sid & his mum) are excellent hosts and they truly treated us like family over the 10 nights we stayed. They went out of their way to assist us with transport, shopping, spa treatments and more. The staff are nothing short of amazing and the food is outstanding…… woke up this morning in UK craving the Indian breakfasts I had every day. Whilst I was more adventurous in my diet, my husband stayed with non-Indian options…. We were both delighted each day!

Really not anything negative to say…. What’s not to like?

The rooms were spacious, clean and tastefully decorated. The staff was quite helpful and warm. The food provided was fresh and tasty, you need to book the meals in advance to avoid any wastage. They kept changing the menu to keep variety, everything was freshly prepared by the staff and served with love. We met the wonderful owner of the homestay and her super friendly dogs. She ensures the guests are comfortable and provides all the assistance/ local guidance needed. Overall, a wonderful stay.

Well the room has an open roof shower section. Though it looks quite nice especially during the day, it becomes a huge problem when it rains. You need an umbrella to use the loo or have to wait for the rains to stops as the water comes in that section as well.

The staff was absolutely fantastic in how friendly and supportive they were on any queries or requests. The room was nice and the whole villa area well kept. The location is great and located right in front of a very popular cafe with great sea view.

We are so happy we found this place- it’s the best find of our 2 month Asia trip. The property looks absolutely stunning, so well maintained and so lush, it feels like a little paradise surrounded by the frangipani trees and other beautiful flowers. Located on the South cliff the beach is just a 5 min walk away and the hustle of the North cliff is accessible but not on your doorstep. We rented a scooter at the rental place conveniently located just opposite of the villa to get around easily. The rooms are incredibly thoughtfully designed. We absolutely loved the authentic touches. Simple, non pretentious and effortlessly stylish. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, thank you Babu, Raju & Sid, we have felt so at home. Thank you for being so available and communicative and warm. We really enjoyed the breakfast and were very happy we took the dinner package as well- delicious, home cooked, comforting food which left us happy and satisfied. We are leaving relaxed, inspired and grateful to have discovered this little corner of beauty in Kerala.
