Tranquil Water

The view from the room was absolutely beautiful. It was so peaceful and such a great place to stay.

It was just great, I have nothing I didn’t like.

Byla to naše první návštěva Irska. V tomto ubytování jsme strávili 10 dní. A rozhodně vřele doporučuji. Krásné , klidné místo. Vše čisté, upravéné s osobitým kouzlem. Rodiná atmosferá. Majitelka Mary byla oprovdu neskutečná. Velice milá a vřelá dáma . Cítili jsme se opravdu jako doma , dala nám spoustu tipu na krásná místa . Snídaně chystala vždy s úsměvem, vřelým slovem . Chuťově výborné. Setkání s ní se nám opravdu zapsalo do srdce.

Mary is een geweldige gastvrouw en verwent je met een heerlijk ontbijt, de huisgebakken scones zijn met zelfgemaakte jam zijn heerlijk. Ze kan je ook veel tips geven over de omgeving. Het huis ligt op een heuvel met uitzicht over de baai. De kamer en badkamer zijn prima in orde. Goede uitvalsbasis om naar Cobh te gaan. Extra tip is de Ballycotton Cliff Walk.

La camera era molto carina, con una splendida vista , in un posto tranquillo. Ottima la colazione con dolci e marmellate preparate dalla signora Mary, che con noi è stata davvero gentile.

Eine wunderschöne Unterkunft in ruhiger Lage. Ideal zum Entspannen. Mary ist eine hervorragende Gastgeberin, macht ein fantastisches Frühstück und versorgt einem mit allem was man braucht.

The whole experience was exceptional. Mary is a wonderful hostess and her breakfast was second to none. Beautiful homemade breads and jams . 5 star welcome and accommodation. Would love to return especially for the breakfast.

We realised we were staying in someones home when you book a B&B, but it was a bit difficult to sleep when the host has guests over and does not supply a TV in the room to block the noise from both the guests and the toilet that flushed all night. Bookings photo of a sign, does not give a clear indication of what the property is like.

Not your usual fry, rather homemade breads and jams. You share the breakfast table with the other guests. The setting is excellent surrounded by mature trees overlooking the inlet.

Wunderschönes Zimmer mit äußerst liebevoller Einrichtung und Dekoration. Mary ist eine sehr nette und aufmerksame Gastgeberin und ihr Frühstück ist außergewöhnlich umfangreich und mit allem, was das Herz begehrt. Wir hatten vom Zimmer eine großartige Aussicht auf den Garten und das Meer.

Leider ist das Bad, vor allem für groß gewachsene Menschen sehr klein.

Quite secluded location, but still within easy travelling distance from Midleton. Rooms are spacious with great character and ensuites. Rooms are supplied with tea and coffee. Mary is the consummate host. Her attention to detail with the superb breakfast that she serves up is to the highest quality. Fresh baked scones, a huge variety of cold meats, cheeses ,and condiments. Nothing is left out and the hot porridge is devine. Mary makes you feel like you are home, so welcoming, witty and just wonderful. We truly loved our stay there.

Can't fault anything.

Beautifully scenic and so relaxing! Mary and Paddy were both super knowledgeable and helpful with plenty of recommendations for the area. Would recommend looking at booking a hire car as it is a bit in the sticks, but this is exactly what we wanted and it didn't miss a beat.

Die Gastgeberin war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Sie hat uns wertvolle Tipps gegeben. Das kontinentale Frühstück war außergewöhnlich vielfältig und sehr gut. Viele Produkte waren hausgemacht. Sehr feines Bett - wir haben sehr gut geschlafen. Zu erwähnen ist noch der fantastische Blick vom Zimmer bzw. Bett aus.

Chambre spacieuse, literie confortable et petit déjeuner varié et copieux. Vue directe sur le bord de mer. Mary est très chaleureuse et bienveillante, et de bon conseil pour les excursions touristiques et culturelles.

Très objectivement, au regard de la situation de la maison d'hôte (Midleton, Cobh, Cork), de la qualité de la prestation et en dépit d'un excellent petit-déjeuner, cela reste très cher payé pour une nuitée dans une simple chambre sans télévision, même face à un bras de mer. Même pour dîner il convient de prendre la voiture (côte très raide)...

Our stay at Tranquil Water was delightful! Our room was tidy and had everything we needed! We truly appreciated the maps, town info, and in-room tea bar! Mary's breakfast was fabulous! Delicious jams and biscuits! The location was perfect...we enjoyed being able to walk to the water and a nearby restaurant, as well as explore some local hikes! It was the perfect place to spend our anniversary weekend! Highly recommend!

Great location lovely pub within ten minutes walk with great food . Breakfast was excellent and staff were great on my list of places to revisit.

Mary the owner show interest in everyone who stays, keeping a friendly but private enviroment. The pod is warm and confortable.

Blick aufs Meer und Preis in der Gegend hat gepasst. Nähe zu Middleton.

Viele Spinnen (Weberknechte) in unserem Zimmer. Wir entfernten ca. 15 Stk. am ersten Abend. Frühstück ist mir zu persönlich, zu sehr bei den „Eltern zu Hause“ an dem Küchentisch.

Nous avons passé deux nuits avec ma femme et mon fils , Mary nous a accueilli très chaleureusement dans sa magnifique maison. Chambre impeccable, très propre et confortable. Superbe jardin , mon fils a adoré la balançoire et la table de ping pong. Le petit déjeuner est fabuleux ! Très belle table , joliment dressée , les scones et la confiture de mûres étaient succulents ( le tout fait maison ) Mary a remarqué que mon fils adorait les mûres et lui a proposé d’en cueillir dans le jardin , une jolie attention qu’il a beaucoup apprécié Elle s’est assuré que nous ne manquions de rien durant tout le séjour , nous a donner de précieux conseils pour notre visite de la région Je conseille fortement de suivre le tour qu’elle propose ! Merci encore à Mary pour cette superbe expérience

Mary ist eine herzliche Gastgeberin, die ihr Haus für Gäste öffnet und so fühlt man sich eher wie ein Familienmitglied, das zu Besuch kommt. Wir hatten das Zimmer mit Blick auf die Keltische See, ein echter Traum! Das Porridge zum Frühstück haben wir mit Genuss gegessen, wie auch den Rest des mit viel Liebe zubereiteten Frühstücks, wo man sich an einem Tisch lustig mit den anderen Gästen unterhalten kann. Ein Aufenthalt mit einer sehr persönlichen Note, der uns Einblicke in die Irische Seele gegeben hat.

Das Zimmer ist sehr einfach, es gibt kaum Staumöglichkeiten für das eigene Gepäck. Ein TV ist nur im Aufenthaltsraum vorhanden, nicht im Zimmer. Das Haus ist sehr hellhörig. Das einzige Gasthaus in fußläufiger Entfernung (Rosy's) hat Montags und Dienstags geschlossen, das ist schon ein Problem, wenn man ein warmes Abendessen haben möchte und nicht mehr Auto fahren möchte9

We felt relaxed as soon as we arrived. Mary, the host, was welcoming, and her breakfasts were superb. The house is in a wonderful location with fantastic views. The room was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was spacious.

Wish we could have stayed longer.

Location was perfect with a beautiful view back across the estuary to Cobh. We could walk down to the local Pub/Restaurant. Lovely healthy breakfast. The fact that no fry was on offer may not suit some. Our host was very sociable and chatted away during breakfast which really added to the stay. We were going to a concert in the marquee and the drive was only about 30 mins.

Mary serves a delicious brekfast with homeade jams, breads. porridge, eggs. The table overlooks a beautiful garden with a view of the sea in the background. Our room was spacious with 2 sitting chairs looking out a window with the same view. Mary is knowledgeable about the area, very helpful with good information. Overall... one of the best stays in our 30 days!

The location was difficult the first time figuring it out but easy when you get the landmarks. It is out of Midleton about 15 minutes south. Bedrooms are up a flight of stairs, as with most B & B's. Stairs were a bit tricky for our friends with luggage (in therir late 70's.)

Fantastic view from our bedroom of Cork Harbour. Amazing breakfast including homemade brownbread, scones and jam. Host was lovely and friendly.

The breakfast was excellent. The host Mary was very welcoming and gave us local knowledge for getting around etc. The room was plenty big enough to accommodate two big suitcases.

I had a wonderful time staying with Mary. Her home is warm and welcoming with many special touches throughout. My room, with ocean views, was lovely, extremely comfortable/cozy with the absolute best shower in all of Ireland! Mary provides an exceptional breakfast and is a wealth of knowledge on “must do’s’ in the area.

Tranquil water has atmosphere...in fact we'd say it is unique . The whole house / garden has a distinct personality and character .It's a wonderfully magical place. .It most definitely lives up to its name ....tranquil. All round superb.

I cannot recommend Tranquil Water enough - the beautiful view, the comfortable bedrooms, the amazing breakfast but most of all, the kind and thoughtful host Mary. When Mary heard I was on a break both to recharge my batteries but also do some writing, she made sure I knew of the best places to walk to and even found me the most beautiful space to write. On a break of a few weeks in different hotels and places, this was the highlight.

Not a single complaint.

Mary is fantastic. Breakfast is divine and Aghada is gorgeous.

Slightly pricey for the size and comfort of the room but I also booked the smallest room so others might be more spacious. Nothing wrong with it tho, would stay again. Little bit noisy within the house from other rooms/guests but didn't bother me.

I got my shoes soaked a few times on the long uncut grass. Some cobwebs on windows, some soiling on china. Some mix ups with booking process but this was compensated for.

Mary was an engaging, yet non-intrusive host. We loved the view from our room and the comfortable bed. Breakfast was perfect with a water view from the table. It was a very peaceful and restful visit. Mary recommended dinner at Rosie's. The food and service was excellent.

It was actually more lovely than pictured.We stayed at the Haven, it was bigger than we expected, was spotlessly clean and truly peaceful and tranquil. Mary was so helpful ( we had phone problems) and had great recommendations for places to eat and get groceries. She even delivered freshly baked scones and homemade jam even though the Haven is self catering. Mary made our stay memorable just by her friendliness and thoughtful touches ( fresh flowers the day we arrived!)

Mary is an exceptional host. We stayed in 11 accommodations on our trip to Ireland and Mary's charm and warmth was unmatched. On our first night she gave us a list of local spots to visit which were beautiful. Her homebaked treats for breakfast, vegan included, were delicious. The property has a beautiful view in a peaceful and lush setting. Aghada is a charming little village with friendly people and pretty views. Rosie's Bar is a great spot to visit just down the road. We'd definitely visit Tranquil Water again if visiting Ireland.

Mary is a fantastic cook, breakfast was beautiful and delicious around her dining room kitchen table 😀Mary herself is a very sweet, friendly, caring person who was kind enough to give us a ride that included a tour to the train station. We had no car and we had miscalculated how far the cottage is from Midleton. Would definitely recommend having a vehicle for this guest house.

The district was under a mandatory boil water order which was no fault of the owners but a surprise to us. The owner provided us us with freshly boiled water in a decanter in our room. Room and bed were small for my 6’1” husband.

Mary was wonderful taking care of us and making sure our stay was great. The room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was homemade breads, jams and other delicious foods. The view was stunning.

The host Mary was very welcoming and friendly. Room had lovely armchairs and wonderful view over Cobh harbour. Peaceful. Loads of information about local area and access to library. Continental breakfast with loads of variety and home baked eg jams, bread etc. Good location to explore area.

Tranquil Water was an absolutely perfect stay. I chose it because of the beautiful view and location in the Irish countryside and I was not disappointed! The accommodation was so cozy and every need was met. The location was remote, but had stunning views, and was so peaceful. Mary was an incredible host who has a warm and inviting energy. Honestly, I had the perfect tranquil birthday out in the Irish countryside and Mary made it feel special and homey. I cannot recommend Tranquil Water enough, and I am looking forward to my next trip out there. One note, if you are not travelling by car, be aware of the accessibility the location is by public transit. You can still take a bus in from Cork, but make sure you do your shopping in advance before you arrive so you can truly be tranquil when you're there. ;)

The bus only runs three times a day M-F, so be aware of that if you're travelling via public transport. There is also the possibility to take taxis!

We enjoyed our stay here so much! Mary is a wonderful host who provides you with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The house is lovely, we had a great view from our room and from the garden. We especially enjoyed having breakfast together with the other guests and chatting a bit, what a great way to start in the day! Thank you Mary for the delicious homemade food (Those scones! That raspberry jam! It was perfect!) and your warm welcome, we loved staying with you!

I really enjoyed my stay at Tranquil Water. Mary was a fabulous host and gave great recommendations for places to visit and eat. The studio was spotlessly clean, comfortable and the views were exceptional. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit to Cork and for much longer.

The host is very kind and helpful. Very nice separate accommodation. Great view on the sea. Situated in a very quiet area but close to lots of interesting things to see.

Very beautiful house with great size en-suite bedrooms. The view to the sea is amazing and it is close to the town`s seaside. Mary is an amazing host and the breakfast is plentiful and tasty and lot of choices. There is a table tennis and swing on a tree for the kids.
