Reviewed Sep 12, 2026De ruime kamer, het grote bed, de kamer was schoon. Elke dag kreeg je nieuw beddengoed en schone handdoeken. Er was ontbijt. De host reageerde direct via de app. De ligging is goed, rustige buurt, direct om de hoek een grote supermarkt en het centrum op loopafstand.
Niks, alles was goed.

Reviewed Jul 2, 2026Das Zimmer war sauber und gut ausgestattet. Die Lage ist gut und es sind sogar ausreichend Parkplätze vorhanden.
Das Frühstück war ebenfalls ausreichende. Wenn dann noch etwas Gemüse. z-B. Tomaten, Gurken oder ähnliches dabei wäre würde ich es optimal bezeichnen.

Hôtel très bruyant avec des portes qui n'ont pas d'amortisseurs, donc claquement dès que quelqu'un entre ou sort de sa chambre ou de l'hôtel. Petit-déjeuner pas terrible et la pièce sentait l’Ehpad. Besoin d'un gros coup de rafraichissement. Ma porte fenêtre était cassée et ne fermait plus à clé, j'ai dû laisser les volets fermés pendant mon séjour par peur que quelqu'un ne puisse rentrer.

Gli interni, i mobili, tende ecc sono evidentemente datati. Pulizia così così: cucina con macchie e zone appiccicose. Ma per capire; in cucina un lampadario da 5 lampadine solo 1 presente. Cioè una lampadina su 5. L atmosfera è un po quella. Poco luminosa, un po cupa. Comunque per due notti va bene.

Reviewed Jun 5, 2026My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, it felt more like a home than a hotel. Our room had a beautiful ocean view, which made every day really unforgettable. The atmosphere was peaceful, relaxing, and exactly what we were looking for. A special thank you to Anna, who was incredibly kind, caring, and welcoming. She did everything possible to make our 3-day stay comfortable and enjoyable, and her hospitality truly made a difference. The breakfast was excellent, and having a store nearby was very convenient. Overall, the hotel had everything we needed for a peaceful and relaxing getaway. We left with wonderful memories and would happily stay here again. Highly recommended!
The only small downside was that speciality our room was located next to the reception area and the kitchen, so it could be a bit noisy in the mornings. It might be worth considering a better soundproofed door for this room.

Reviewed May 20, 2026Hotel di recente costruzione con camere ampie ben pulite, dotate di bagno privato e alcune con vista sulla città e sulla vicina isola di Faial. Molto premurosa l'accoglienza di Ana, prodiga di tanti utili consigli. In meno di 10 minuti a piedi si arriva al centro con parecchi ristorantini; molto più vicino un supermercato con un banco tavola calda dove è possibile mangiare. Colazione adeguata. Parcheggio gratuito a disposizione. Rapporto qualità prezzo nel mese di Aprile con prenotazione effettuata con largo anticipo molto conveniente.

It was a bit of a wait for staff to arrive to check us in as we were late arrivals so we had to wait outside for her to arrive. Good thing it wasn't raining! Staff were not pleasant at all. They certainly did not make us feel welcome. The only time in 2 weeks in the Azores that we experienced this.

The twin mattress I used a little firm, making it hard to sleep. The sofa bed my brother used was uncomfortable for him. However, he is a heavy set person, and he felt the cross bar under the mattress.

Reviewed Aug 31, 2025Vila da Madalena è un bellissimo posto, distante 10 minuti a piedi dal centro di Madalena. Lo staff è molto gentile e disponibile, la camera era molto ampia. Buona colazione.
L'unico problema che abbiamo avuto sono le zanzare: suggerirei di installare delle zanzariere in ogni finestra della camera e del bagno.

Reviewed Jul 19, 2025They allowed me to check in early since I had a morning flight and the room was empty. The breakfast buffet has a nice variety of food. It's a short walk to the supermarket and the town center.
The bathroom had a horrible smell all the time. I had to keep the door closed so the whole room didn't smell. There's a huge terrace behind the buildings with a nice view across the water to Faial. It's too bad they don't have some nice furniture out there to enjoy it.

Reviewed Jul 4, 2025As a female solo traveller, this was a lovely place to stay. It was secure, clean, the staff were lovely the food was great and I felt very safe and comfortable. I stayed on my way out to Faial and again on my way back. It is within easy walking distance of the town so I had no problem finding somewhere to eat and the only thing which I felt bad about was that the staff carried my big heavy suitcase up the stairs because there isn't a lift.

Reviewed May 2, 2025We had a wonderful time here as the Villa is just above the city center with a magnificent view of the sea and the mountain itself. It is clean, it has a super breakfast, and the rooms are cleaned daily. Everything you need for a perfect stay at Madalena
The lights in our room - there are several but still it is not so light. But that is a minor issue.
