Comfortable, warm an welcoming. Beautiful setting, well worth the visit . Charming hosts. Went out of their way to make sure you had a wonderful stay.
Couldn’t think of anything to not like, excellent property
Beautiful venue, delightful hosts! Artistic decorating with spectacular fabric art! Great wine tasting and enjoyed the tour immensely!

Relaxed atmosphere
Very friendly hosts. Great wine tasting and vineyard tour.

Beautiful location quiet and Sue and Paul were lovely hosts. Accommodated our slightly later arrival for a wine tasting and tour. Room is spacious well equipped. Even has robes. We only stayed a night but well worth it.
Sue & Paul were amazing hosts, the tour of the vineyard with Paul was great, the wine tasting was great and the dinner all cooked & prepared by Sue was amazing

Fantastic location and beautiful views. Our room was perfect with very fine linens and super comfortable bed. Our hosts had thought of every detail to make it a special place to stay. We enjoyed our tour of the vineyard, wine tasting and delicious dinner with Sue and Paul, who were great company. Thank you!
It was perfect.
Beautiful property! We enjoyed exploring the nearby area and towns on our 3 night stay. The Vineyard Studio was super comfortable and clean (very comfy bed), Paul and Sue were very welcoming, and wine is excellent! Highly recommend.
Excellent hosts. Accommodation spacious and outstanding views
The suite looked quite new and was extremely clean. It was very comfortable. It was very quiet. Our hosts were very hospitable. We very much enjoyed our host talking us on a tour of the vineyards and the tasting we had.
There was no air conditioning, from mid afternoon to early evening it was uncomfortable. The accomodation was in the country so you need to drive for meals.
The service was wonderful, lovely place to stay.

The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. The free wine tasting was lovely, I learnt a lot. The accommodation was very spacious with two large bedrooms, sitting room and laundry. The winery is a short drive to Alexander or Clyde and in a peaceful setting. We could walk about the property and there was lovely seating outside. The continental breakfast was lovely with some options homemade. We really enjoyed our stay.
Nothing really. Have recommended this B & B to others.
Location was excellent and staff enthusiastic
The hosts were excellent and the property exceeded my expectations.

The grounds were beautiful and it was really fun to walk through the vineyard and learn about the growing process. The hosts were charming; having dinner and chatting with them was a lovely time.
This was my second time visiting New Zealand, and by chance, I decided to dive deeper into its wine culture — which led me to Alexandra. What a wonderful surprise! This stay turned out to be the highlight of my entire trip — peaceful, private, and deeply relaxing. Paul and Sue were the most amazing hosts. From the wine tasting to the outdoor tour and our delightful dinner together, every moment felt warm, fulfilling, and full of joy. It was such a pleasure meeting them! The accommodation was simply perfect — spotless, comfortable, and beautifully set up. I honestly couldn’t find a single thing to fault. I’ll definitely return the next time I’m in New Zealand, and I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone who wants to slow down, unwind, and experience what true travel feels like.
Everything is perfect
We had the best time from the moment we arrived to when we left. Sue and Paul were super friendly and welcoming—such lovely hosts. They showed us around, offered a complimentary wine tasting (which we definitely said yes to!), and then we settled into our superior studio. It was really comfy and had everything we needed. We were pleasantly surprised to find we were the only guests which made it feel unique. We skipped the vineyard tour since it was a bit too cold, but we did go for the dinner option—and we’re so glad we did. It turned out to be a fantastic evening with delicious food, great conversation, and plenty of their amazing Pinot wines to enjoy. Breakfast was also delicious. And the view from the house? Just stunning. The garden, the vines, and the mountains in the background—it was all picture-perfect.
It was cozy and well equipped, though the heater made some crackling noise—not the most pleasant sound, but nothing that ruined the stay.
The information and what was involved in making the wine was very informative
Nothing. The hosts covered all the basis. Went well and truely beyond expectations
Breakfast was lovely

Our time spent here was perfect from the moment we arrived to the time we left. We were met by our very friendly, warm, welcoming hosts Sue & Paul. After showing us around and asking if we wanted a complimentary wine tasting & tour, we settled in our one bedroom Studio, which was very comfortable and well appointed. We took up the dinner option & had a wonderful, memorable evening full of delicious food, good fun conversation and of course their fabulous Pinot wines enjoyed by all of us. Another highlight of course is the magnificent view from the house over their great garden & extended to the Vines and the majestic background of the Grey Ridge, just amazing! Thanks again for a great time & experience. Bruce and Carolyn
We had a lovely two bedroom maisonette just off of the main house. Sue and Paul were delightful hosts. We had a tour of the vineyard and a tasting. The grounds were immaculate and we were made to feel very welcome. There was a great bathtub with bubble bath and a candle. Heaven!
It is an operating vineyard in a rural setting. Peacefull with everybody working hard .
That it’s on a vineyard!
Lovely

This property is absolutely beautiful, and the hosts are really lovely people. We were pleasantly surprised to find we were the only guests which made it feel unique. We were offered a tour of the vineyard and complimentary wine tasting - both of which were very enjoyable. We also opted to have dinner with the hosts - I have a couple of dietary requirements and Sue was able to easily accommodate me. Overall a fantastic first experience staying at a vineyard - Thank you Sue and Paul!
No issues with the property at all. We would have loved more wine with our food - perhaps they could suggest another package to include more wine with dinner.
Sue and Paul are incredible host, felt like a family staying with them for just one night. Paul is super enthusiatic to explain in details wine making process and patiently interacts with host Room facilities, breakfast and accessibility to near by in town restaurants / bar / cafe are top class. Highly recommended is someone wishes to spend a day or two in Central Otago vineyards.
Very neat and tidy. Rooms are spacious. Fantastic view from the common areas. Very friendly hosts and loved the fact that Paul is so kind to bring us out to do a vineyard tour and talked about his story in starting wine making. Loved also the meal prepared by Sue, very refreshing, much needed in these hot days! What makes it excellent is not just the accommodation itself but the whole experience of it as well with the friendly hosts, their hospitality as well as getting to know any other guests that stayed.
Nothing really.
Incredible hosts and property!!!!
Absolutely nothing
Liked the views.
With comments like “it’s hot so you don’t need the heater, use a blanket if you need it” and “a short tour of the vineyard “ (amongst other comments), we didn’t feel very welcome.
Clean spacious, friendly hosts and great wine & breakfasts
No tv & average wifi
Nice property, close to gorgeous town of Clyde. Very clean. Owners friendly.
Our recent stay at Grey Ridge Vineyard offered both positives and areas for improvement. On our arrival, despite it being late, the hosts sue & Paul were very welcoming, which we appreciated. The accommodation, though part of the main house, was separate and private, which suited us fine initially. However, there were a few aspects that detracted from our experience. We were surprised by Sue's request to have breakfast at 8 AM and then even more surprised when she asked if we could check out by 9 AM, an hour earlier than the standard time, as she and Paul were planning on starting their long awaited staycation and had plans to start the day early. We declined having any breakfast as this was too early for us and agreed to try and be out by 9am, but upon reflection, this arrangement did not sit well with us. We felt pressured to accommodate the hosts' needs at the expense of our own comfort and holiday time, especially considering the full price we were still charged for what we expected to be a more leisurely stay. We acknowledge we should have said something at the time but we were put on the spot and were a bit too shocked. Additionally, the room was uncomfortably cold. While the hallway heater had been turned on, there was no heating in the bedrooms. Given how cold it was, it would have been considerate if the heating in the bedrooms had been arranged prior to our arrival. Unfortunately, we had to move a heater from the tea room into the second bedroom, as there was none there, which was less than ideal. While the setting at the winery is undoubtedly charming and the initial reception was friendly, these issues did mar our overall experience. For future guests, we hope that Grey Ridge prioritises guest comfort and clearly communicates any unusual expectations or requests well in advance.
Perfect spot to experience the vineyards of the Alexandra wine region. Paul and Sue are exceptional hosts and clearly love sharing their beautiful space. Private entry and area to relax both indoor and outdoors overlooking the fields of Pinot Noir vines, olive trees and mountains. Five star bedding for a restful nights sleep.
Sue & Paul are exceptional hosts, delightful to talk to! If you stay at Grey Ridge - highly recommend to make it in time for dinner or the tasting/ tour! The room was spotless clean, bed was very comfortable - we had a great night of sleep. The vineyard is absolutely beautiful with amazing views.
Excellent stay - no points to critique at all!
My mother and I try to be gluten-free and so a fresh fruit and nut platter would have been a treat with the coconut yoghurt that was provided. To top it off an option of eggs and some gluten-free bakery bread would have been fabulous - easily done because you can keep fresh bread in the freezer. Outside of this a top 10 experience for sure!
As above
Hosts were exceptional.
Beautiful property
Just about everything. It was a superb experience. We especially enjoyed the wine tasting and the tour of the vineyard. We learnt a lot about wine and vineyard management.
Nothing really.
Everything… location sublime, hosts exceptional
Sue and Paul were excellent hosts and the tour and tasting of the vineyard and wine were very informative and interesting. They put on an excellent dinner. Definitely well worth doing.
The location was perfect for a peaceful weekend. The host was very friendly and helpful.
Vineyard talk, peace and quiet, spacious room.

Comfortable room. Beautifull view. Nice people.
The location was so picturesque and relaxing! The hosts were so pleasant, accommodating and helpful.
The breakfast wasn’t quite as much as we excited but still great!
Friendly, clean, comfortable
Sue and Paul are very nice hosts. We chose the optional casual dinner, which was delicious, this allowed us to get to know our hosts and how they came to own and run Grey Ridge Vineyard. The wine is excellent and it was enjoyable to tour the vineyard with Paul. Sue prepared a delicious continental breakfast each morning with her homemade jams and jellies. We would certainly come back in a heartbeat and highly recommend anyone else to come to Grey Ridge Vineyard. The surrounding countryside is typical New Zealand … outstanding beauty.
We thought about this, and we can’t find anything we didn’t like (other than we had to leave).
The views, the hosts and of course the wine, were amazing! Make sure to stay at least 2 nights to take it all in, have brekky in the cozy sunroom and explore the beautiful area.
Continental type breakfast was good and was dinner the night before. All the little things in and about Grey Ridge added up to an enjoyable stay. Beds and bed linen excellent Great hosts.
Very hard to find anything we didn’t like.
Nice small vineyard with great views
Great location, friendly hosts who provided a private winery tour and experience as well as a delicious home cooked meal. The accommodation was exceptional.
Lovely hospitable hosts. Brilliant location. Luxurious bedrooms.
Would have been no ce to have good WiFi and a small tv in the lounge.
A very warm welcome from Paul & Sue. Paul showed us around the vineyard followed by a brief wine tasting. The rooms were with comfortable beds and next mornings generous breakfast was in their sunny kitchen. We can highly recommend the Grey Ridge Vineyard Experience.
Wonderful breakfast and delicious dinner, great vineyard tour with Paul / very enthusiastic, he loves, what he is doing perfect tasting with Sue and Paul
nothing, everything was perfect
Breakfast and Hosts were wonderful and the evening meal and wine tasting was excellent. Catered for my partner who is Vegan
The water pumps (I think) may have been located in the ceiling void. These need to be insulated for noise. We were hoping the view would be of the vineyard.
everything
location and plenty of room in clean tidy surroundings.
nothing.
This was our first night stay in New Zealand and we couldn't have picked a better place. Sue and Paul were the friendliest and most accommodating hosts. The room was very clean and comfortable. Our hosts offered us a tour of their vineyard, a wine tasting of their own homemade wines, and dinner, which was fantastic. We also enjoyed a breakfast. Sue and Paul are great conversationalists, and we wish we could have stayed longer. If you have the opportunity, you must stay at Grey Ridge Vineyard. We would also recommend booking with them directly, as they mentioned they offered perks if you do so.
beautiful location & super wine tour
Our experience at Grey Ridge was fabulous. The property and the location was picturesque and the accommodation was faultless. Our hosts were relaxed and so enthusiastic about the vineyard and their wines. Would highly recommend the dinner and wine experience. A highlight of our trip.
no views … bed faces toilet !! would have thought staying at a Vineyard would have decent views
Clean and tidy but Overpriced …
The hosts were fantastic. We had a great evening with them and another vineyard owner who came to visit... We recommend this to anyone visiting Otago.....oh and the wine and dinner was great as well
Everything was great
everything- everything was high quality and the hosts looked after us so well. We are now well informed about the making of wine - best wine tasting ever and wine was excellent- shame we are limited with luggage allowance.Dinner on our fist night was lovely and we really enjoyed just chatting.
for us everything was great
Very clean serene setting. Marvelous views from the dining room to the viniard and the snowcapped ridges. The aroma of freshly baked croissants is unforgettable The tour was very informative and the wine tasting experience was delightful. We've learned a lot about the grape cultivation, label design, and the art of wine making. Thank you for the complimentary glass of your wine and for answering all our questions.
The sitting area in the 2 bedroom suite is on the small side. It would have been nice to have a couple of plates and cutlery, besides the cups and glasses that were supplied. Bed duvet too thick and too heavy; yet the bedrooms have ample heaters.
