Reviewed Aug 22, 2026I loved the beautiful views, and warm homie feel made by the lit fireplaces and cozy furnishings. There were Friesian horses on the property and carrots that you can feed them, the horses are gorgeous and very freindly, this was a very special part of our stay.

Our very large bathroom had a single small mat. We stayed in winter and this made using the bathroom feel extra cold. Warm white light bulbs would make it feel more homely.

Reviewed Apr 13, 2026Honestly one of the most beautiful views I’ve ever seen in my life. Also beautiful large trees, pleasant walks, the venue supplies carrots to feed the majestic Friesian horses, and a special shoutout to the staff that went the extra mile to make my children smile :)
Not a criticism at all, but a consideration for parents of toddlers specifically: the lawn where the main lodge house and pool sits does have some steep drops.

The tranquility and peacefulness of our stay echoed the magnificent setting overlooking the Nottingham Road countryside, well cared for garden surrounds and a sparkling blue pool. Breakfasts were relaxed and service was friendly. Fresh fruit salad, Full Cream Dairy and Full English breakfast, including easter eggs and hot cross buns - it was country bliss!
We liked everything about our stay and highly recommend Warren and his staff at Crestwood.

Reviewed Mar 25, 2026The accommodation is situated in a beautiful tranquil setting; the horses are a nice touch. They have a few walks mapped out. Host was very accommodating and staff very friendly. Breakfast was good and had a nice variety of tea, coffee, fruits etc. Host is also very informative regarding the history of the accommodation. Take the time to ask. Absolutely stunning sun sets.
Happy with everything, only advice is to have mirrors to do makeup and hair in the rooms. One room we had to remove the bathroom mirror from the wall to do hair and makeup. Other room although there was a mirror, kept on having to get up to do makeup had to stand to do hair in order to see. Need to check for spiders and their webs on the wooden beams. Some nasty looking critters. Although in such a remote setting one should expect a bug or two. Had no WiFi in the rooms battled for signal.

Reviewed Nov 12, 2025Dear Crest Wood Management, I am writing to express my absolute disappointment and disgust with the service we received from your manager (a white male) during our recent stay. We had requested an early check-in in advance, and our request was confirmed, as we needed to prepare for a wedding at 1:00 PM. However, upon arrival, when we called the office as instructed, the manager answered the phone in an incredibly rude and dismissive tone. He informed us that he “can’t help us” and that we were “too early,” despite the prior arrangement. After much back-and-forth, during which he made inappropriate and condescending remarks — including suggesting that we “should have booked two nights if we wanted to check in early” — he finally allowed us to enter. As we drove in, he added a completely uncalled-for comment, telling us “not to trash the room.” This level of disrespect and unprofessionalism is absolutely unacceptable. His behaviour ruined our mood for the entire afternoon and tainted what should have been a joyful occasion. I request that this matter be escalated to the highest level of management. The experience left us deeply uncomfortable, and I can confidently say we had a horrible stay because of it. I will be sharing this experience with others, as no guest deserves to be treated in such a degrading manner.
