The ambience and vibe was soothing and classy In the area you will not be able to find another place with similar tranquility The 2 helpers were very understanding and calm Gave a homely atmosphere Cheers
Rooms not very spacious When unknown families stay there could be issues. But im sure many who book the place would come from similar classy backgrounds
Everything , the ambience was superb. Breakfast was excellent. I would recommend it to any one.

The staff was very friendly. The host communicated effectively. Comfortable stay.

A very friendly family guesthouses in a beautifully renovated colonial villa. We were given a very warm welcome even though the host present during our stay did not speak much English. Breakfast was delicious. Thank you!!
Pleased provide proper blankets so that guests can sleep with AC on.
The staff is incredibly accomodating, friendly and helpful; fulfilling all our requests. The rooms are very clean and the bathroom is modern. As well as having a beatiful garden where one can relax after a long day, the Villa is conveniently located near the center making it easily accessible and in close proximity to shops and restaurants. The food provided at the property was excellent along with the homemade juices we were offered.
We were looked after by a lovely pair of older ladies who cooked us the most delicious Sri Lankan breakfasts and dinners. We were also greeted by the owner, Nihal, who had come up for a couple of days from Colombo, and we sat two nights on the patio with him drinking gin and tonic and hearing about the history and politics of the region. It was a wonderful stay and will be much remembered. Thank you.
It’s located in a convenient place and has been well looked after. Staff were very friendly and caring.

Perfect place to spend your vacation. Very clean. The caretaker is very kind and is ready to help with everything. Would come back again for sure.
We arrived in the evening after a long train journey. We were tired and hungry and our hosts gave us the best welcome! We met Nihal and his family who invited us to have drinks with them and it was so great chatting with them. The housekeepers had prepared us a Sri Lankan dinner which was outstanding - probably the best food we’ve tried during our month long stay! They were just so kind and they really looked after us. Breakfast was also absolutely amazing. The villa is gorgeous and the location is in Badulla town which was great, we did have a little look around the next morning. The room and bathroom were spacious and the bed was super comfortable. Great shower too. Highly recommend staying here - it was one of the highlights of our time in Sri Lanka.
Wish we could have stayed longer
Humble and kind staff. They also gifted some mangoes from their orchard to us - free of charge.
Water pressure in the shower could have been stronger.
Excellent homestay with spotlessly clean and aesthetically pleasing home.we visited as a group of 4 and had booked 2 rooms in October for a night. We were pleased to receive a warm welcome by our host and a super breakfast by the caretaker the next morning…
Caretakers were very nice and welcoming. Provided super tasty food
Breakfast ist very good. Nice staff
We had a wonderful stay at this villa in Badulla. The freedom to enjoy the villa at our own pace made our stay truly relaxing. The rooms and garden are impeccably maintained, creating a peaceful and inviting atmosphere. The two ladies who take care of the property are exceptionally kind and loyal, ensuring we felt at home throughout our visit. I highly recommend this place for families looking for a comfortable and welcoming stay in Badulla.
The bathroom lock in the room near the reception table didn’t work properly.
Beautiful old house, friendly staff, big breakfast.
Lovely friendly care takers, great breakfast, freshly made sri lankan food, catered for our needs. Very Clean house, and room and showers. Beds had nets so can have a safe peaceful night sleep. Location very close to shops and restaurant. 10/15 mins drive to Fort station, would book again.
Location, Food, Sweet staff, Comfortable Beds, All the fun games
There were lots of ants in the bathroom… Found that a bit uncomfortable…
Yammy traditional breakfast with full heartedly prepared. Location is good.
Wi-Fi access
It’s clean and the whole shebang is professional. Two caretakers there are exceptional. They are very nice and made us to feel like home. We were privileged to stay there on a special day in the Sri Lankan calendar (Sinhala new year). Owner in Colombo who’s on constant touch with the caretakers to make sure all are comfortable. Superb Sri Lankan breakfast. Mamma Mia!!!!. We came here via a word of mouth through our acquaintance in the UK. Definitely we’ll pass the word around about this place among our friends in the UK. We are hoping to stay there again in few months time. Best wishes. Dr Bahu
We wanted traditional Sri Lankan food and it was delicious. We were well looked after here, my husband had a medical issue here and we were enquired after by staff, the owner and their friends to make sure we were okay. The accommodation is clean and comfortable. Definitely go there if need accommodation in Dambulla.
Breakfast provided was ample and location was assessible to reach other places.
WiFi was not easy to access. Had to use hotspot.
The architecture takes you back to a time when the world was a little less noisy
Nothing
Breakfast was nice, caretakers are kind.
Bathroom window could be upgraded, there were lot of ants in the bathroom. We could only pay cash and didn’t get any receipt for the payment. Overall too expensive for the rooms and location.
Ac and fan. Hot shower. Access to kettle. Desk. Comfy bed with net. Little terrace. Delicious Sri Lankan breakfast. Everything very pleasant at house.
Two women ‘caretakers’ spoke no english but host in colombo was in contact to help translate. Nowhere much locally to eat. Small room no wardrobe/hangers
A beautiful recently refurbished family home now rented out by the room . The owner lives in Colombo but kept in touch and helped with any queries. Spotlessly cleaned & maintained by 2 live in caretakers. The breakfasts were delicious . Central location . Highly recommended.
Very enjoyable stay with the best view. Excellent staff, lovely room, fabulous food, very helpful people.
Parking was a little tight but it all worked.
We liked the accommodation and the staff were very accommodating and attentive to our requests. The location was ideal. The typical Sri Lankan breakfast was exceptional.
Breakfast was tasty.
It was indicated that C/C was available for the payment on the booking confirmation, but it actually was not available. No bottled water, No kettle in the room. Accommodation fees are higher than others. Staffs didn't speak English.
The two care takers were very freindly and their cooking was excellent.
We had such a lovely stay at this house. As others have said, we were welcomed by the caretaker sisters who were so accommodating and friendly. We loved the traditional breakfast, and the ladies took into account my lack of tolerance for chili :) My partner was able to speak sinhala with them which made things simpler for us, and we got to know more about the history of the house. The owner called (in English) on the final morning to check how our stay was and to finalise payment arrangements. I really loved the decor in the house - simple, but elegantly keeping in line with the historic nature of the house. I also liked that it did feel like someone's home, with photos of the family (multiple generations) on the walls. I also appreciated the aircon in the bedroom - so necessary with the heatwave!
I guess if I'm being picky, the shower door was a bit tricky to close. But that's about all I can suggest to improve. And just a top tip for future guests: make sure that the shower hot water is turned on (switch near bathroom door which mysteriously doesn't turn on any lights... but it does turn on the shower hot water).
- Located close to a good restaurant - Tasty breakfast and helpful ladies
- The owner is the only person speaking English located in Colombo. It was needed to call him every time - It's not an issue but anyway. In fact it is a private house is rented, not hotel
The location was calm and quiet, which was suitable for relaxing after a long day of travelling. The facilities and rooms were very clean and organised. Additionally the staff were very friendly and helpful.
None.
The staff (two old ladies) very nice and helpful. They cook excellent meals. This place has a vibe of old colonial bungalow. Even though the owner was not residing there, he responded quickly.
Charming, clean and well maintained. The two caretaker ladies were also exceptional and made it feel like home. Definitely a great find in Badulla where the options are minimal.
Beautiful villa with a familiar atmosphere that make feel almost at home. Excellent dinner was prepared on request by the two caretaker ladies.
Cleanliness
Food, not good enough
it’s was very aesthetic and the very clean.
The family home was charming and the staff delightful. The Sri Lankan home cooking was some of the best I've had! A lovely experience!
The breakfast was delicious and so is the dinner that was served on request. The property is approximately 3 km away from the Badulla Railway Station. You can take a three wheeler to reach the destination from the railway station.
We booked the quadruple room. There is no mirror available in the room apart from the mirror that was there in the washroom. Hence it would be better if a mirror could be installed inside the room so that you don't have to wait till the washroom become vacant to use the mirror.
