Had a really lovely stay here! ❤️ The aunty was very kind, friendly, and welcoming. The room was clean, comfortable, and very affordable for the price we paid. The place was peaceful, private, and felt very safe and free. The breakfast was also really delicious and perfect for the morning. 😋 Overall, a wonderful place with great hospitality. Highly recommended! ❤️

Unfortunately, this was one of the worst accommodations I have stayed at in Sri Lanka. The room was extremely dirty, and many things were broken or poorly maintained. There was no soap or toilet paper, and the towel provided was dirty. When I went to bed, I discovered that the undersheet was full of hair and dirt. When I sent a photo to the owner, instead of apologizing or offering a solution, he asked me why I had taken off the undersheet. This all happened around midnight, when I was already exhausted and just wanted to sleep. I was also scratching all night and strongly suspect there may have been bedbugs. On top of that, there was a show or event outside with extremely loud music that continued until around 6:00 AM. If the owner knows in advance that there will be such a noisy event, guests should be informed before booking or arrival. At least then they can decide whether they are comfortable with the noise or choose another place. Because of the poor hygiene, the possibility of bedbugs, and the extreme noise, I didn't even feel comfortable having breakfast there. I have stayed in many places in Sri Lanka, and I have never had an experience like this. I would not recommend this place.

Fantastic place, wonderful family, lovely athmosphere and delicious food. The room was perfect, clean, spacious with the private terrace and all the surrounding green. They organise very nice tours so everything you need is handy. Thank you for everything. I would already love to come back!

We loved the location and the room, the family running this guest house is really kind and the owner helped us with his car and the tuk tuk to go around to Sigiriya and to see the temples. The food they served was also great! We definetely reccomend it to anybody.

Die Unterkunft war super und familiär, ruhige und abgeschiedene Lage. Das Frühstück und Abendessen waren sehr lecker. Der Host ging auf alle Wünsche ein und bot sich als Fahrer für Ausflüge an. Sicherlich gibt es günstigere Optionen aber wir genossen den Komfort und seine Erfahrung. Er kennt die Gegend und Sehenswürdigkeiten sehr gut. ☺️

L'endroit est très joli. La chambre est parfaite et très confirtable et le petit déjeuné délicieux. Les gérants ont été adorables avec nous et ils ont des chiens très mignons :) je recommande !

Super accueil, chathu et ses parents sont adorables, honnêtes et donnent pleins de conseils. La nourriture est très bonne, la chambre est confortable. La maison est dans la nature. Le jardin et la maison sont très bien entretenus. La chambre est spacieuse et propre. Un service de taxi et tuk tuk est également possible sur place. La famille est très accueillante.

The bed was big and comfortable. The room has a nice terrace facing a small green garden. The house is located in a quiet area. The breakfast was delicious and the owners very friendly and helpful.

The bathroom had some bad odors coming out from the piping.

We had a wonderful stay at this guest house in Ambulla. The family who runs it is incredibly kind, welcoming, and always ready to help with a genuine smile. They made us feel at home from the very first moment. The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and prepared with great care. Every meal felt special and gave us a real taste of local Sri Lankan cuisine. The atmosphere is peaceful and authentic, perfect for relaxing and experiencing the true spirit of Sri Lanka. Aloe Vera offers a clean , spacious upstairs double room that leads to a plant filled veranda. Option of fan or ac.Comfortable beds and pillows! If you do stay do your tastebuds buds a favour and eat dinner. The curries were exceptional. Owner has a tuk tuk so convenient for trips to town or Pophams arboretum for Loris watching. Longer trips to see sights in surrounding towns can also be arranged. Breakfast was also good . Thankyou for a lovely stay.

Really nice stay. The room was clean and with a private terrace. We even got a tuktuk pickup from a bus station and a lift to Sigiriya for a good price (even better than on PickMe). Traditional breakfast was tasty.

Musíme vyzdvihnout výborné jídlo. Rozhodli jsme se si zde dát večeři i snídani. Oboje bylo místní autentické a výborné. Bylo toho tolik, že jsme to ani nezvládli sníst. Ubytování je v přírodě což my bereme jako výhodu ale je tím pádem nutné počítat s pár pavouky a občas s nějakým mravencem. Milý personál nám zařídil dopravu i do ubytování, po památkách a do následující destinace. Vřele doporučujeme.

Aloe Vera ci ha accolto in Sri Lanka e siamo stati contentissimi. Erhat e la sua famiglia sono accoglienti e gentili, la stanza che abbiamo preso era pulita e accogliente, con un bel terrazzo circondato da piante. La posizione è ottima per chi non vuole alloggiare a Dambulla Town ma essere comodo per visitare le principali attrazioni della zona. Il cibo è super, la colazione è tipica e ricca, le cene buonissime: offrono rice and curry, kottu e fried rice, abbiamo provato tutto e possiamo dire che vale davvero la pena mangiare qui. Se dovessimo tornare a Dambulla, torneremmo qui senza dubbio!

We rented two spacious rooms for a night. The host was incredibly accommodating and friendly, and we were served an amazing Sri Lankan breakfast for free. The location is very convenient, as it’s close to the main road. Overall, it was a great value for money, and I would highly recommend it.

Die Unterkunft lag mitten im Grünen, sehr sauber und gepflegt. Die ganze Familie hat uns warm und herzlich empfangen. Hareth hat uns mit seinem tuktuk vom Busbahnhof abgeholt und an unserem Abreisetag geholfen den richtigen Bus zu finden. Ausserdem zeigte er uns mit seinem tuktuk für einen sehr fairen Preis die Umgebung (Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa…).

Chathura/Herath are great host, super attentive. They came to pick us up at the bus station first day and drop off us last day for free. The room was clean, tasty breakfast and nice people.

Ciche miejsce jest pełne uroku – piękny taras z widokiem na zadbany ogród. Śniadanie zostało podane w przepiękny sposób – świeże i pyszne. Co najważniejsze, właściciele to niesamowicie mili i pomocni ludzie. Zdecydowanie polecamy to miejsce - nocleg tak nam się spodobał, że zostaliśmy jeszcze jeden dodatkowy dzień.

This was our perfect place to stay to seeing Dambulla and Sigiriya. We would definitely recommend booking the upper room with a private terrace where there is shadow and lots of plants around. The bed was amazing. We had such a good sleep. The place was quite, clean and beautiful. Herath and his wife were very welcoming, helpful and lovely people. He has a tuktuk and offers nice trips with a lot of knowledge of the beautiful area.

We had a really pleasant stay at Aloe Vera Guesthouse. The rooms were clean, and the accommodation was well-maintained. Our host, Herath, was friendly and shared a lot of interesting stories with us. Both breakfast and dinner were good and well-prepared. Overall, it was a very nice experience and we would go there anytime again!

Rodzina prowadząca ten hostel stara się zapewnić gościom jak najlepszy pobyt. Śniadania są przepyszne. Pan właściciel ma swojego tuk tuka i proponuje wspaniałe wycieczki po okolicy. Guest House znajduje się na uboczu, przez co jest cicho i przyjemnie. Spędziliśmy naprawdę fajny czas dzięki właścicielowi.

Our stay was very pleasant! The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The location was excellent, making it easy to explore the area. Everything worked out smoothly, and the host was very communicative and available whenever we needed assistance or had questions. We would definitely recommend this place!

Beautiful room with a nice garden view. If you’d like to be a lazy tourist for a few days you’re at the right address. The owner shows you around all the highlights, we saw things we wouldn’t if we went by ourselves. Lovely food as well.

la struttura è una casa in una stradina a 5 minuti di tuk tuk dalla strada principale. tutto si presenta ordinato e con una vegetazione rigogliosa che copre l’intero edificio rendendolo un ambiente unico

La guest house e’ immersa nella natura,piante ovunque,veramente bello! La camera è molto semplice con un tavolo uno specchio e un letto. Stessa cosa il bagno. Il proprietario è veramente una persona per bene, mi è venuto a prendere alla fermata del bus la sera e mi ha accompagnata a prendere la cena. Con lui e suo figlio ho fatto le escursioni fuori da Dambulla e mi sono trovata molto bene. Colazione veramente molto molto buona,la cena è un po’ scarna di opzioni ma di buona qualità. Terrazzo circondato dal verde,bellissimo mangiare lì! Non ho avuto nessuna difficoltà pur essendo da sola, il proprietario e il figlio sono veramente persone educate e rispettose!

non c’è la zanzariera nella camera ma hanno fornito il diffusore contro le zanzare. Magari un asciugamano in più farebbe comodo!

Herath und sein Sohn haben alles getan um mich in ihrer Unterkunft wohlzufühlen. Als ich nach einem Moskitonetz fragte, wurde sogar eigens für mich eines besorgt und montiert. Die Lage ist absolut ruhig, umgeben von Natur. Herath hat ein eigenes Tuk Tuk mit welchem er oder sein Sohn mich herumführten. Auf den Weg zum Nationalpark sind wir auf der Straße sogar Elefanten begegnet. Heraths Frau war gerade im Krankenhaus und somit kam ich leider nicht in den Genuß ihrer Küche. Abendessen wurde von auswärts geholt. Frühstück war gut und ausreichend. Es war die 1. Unterkunft in Sri Lanka wo ich Warmwasser hatte. Vielen Dank euch beiden, habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt.

Camerele sunt dezgustatoare. Pozele sunt frumoase dar realitatea este alta. Pline de mucegai, este locul ideal data vrei sa faci astm bronsic. Gazda se ofera sa te duca cu tuk tukul la Templu fara sa iti spuna care este pretul, te face sa crezi ca este doar amabil si benevol dar va avea grija sa te taxeze la final. Incerca sa iti vanda safari la elefanti. Micul dejun foarte saracacios nu este ca in prezentare cu optiuni Locatia este departe de templu, nu sunt 1,8 km asa cum spune in descriere, este in padure, traseu plin de caini, necesita transport. Dar iti poate chema el un tuk tuk la preturi de turist evident. Dupa ce ne-a preluat de la templu l-am rugat sa tracem pe la piata sa cumparam fructe, evident cand am ajuns acolo a facut un semn discret vanzatorilor sa ne incarce la pret . Pretul fructelor ajunsese sa fie de 7 ori mai scumpe decat in mod normal Sri Lanka. A incercat sa ne impresioneze spunandune de mai multe ori ca sotia este in spital si face o operatie la ochi fix in ziua aceea. Dupa ce am plecat de la cazare am primit notificare de la Booking ca proprietarul a dat rezervarea anulata prin neprezentare. Nu recomad niciodata aceasta cazare, oameni care par amabili dar de fapt inceara prin viclenie sa te stoarca de bani, tipic multor cazari din Sri Lanka. Fi atent ce cazari iei daca iti doresti o vacanta fericita!

I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND this hotel, especially for single female travelers! The hotel owner is very intrusive from start to finish. He tried every day to convince me to use his services as a driver, since all the facilities are very far away and I will not be able to reach them myself, BUT THIS IS NOT TRUE! At the same time, it was sometimes optional, and one day he just didn't come for me at the appointed time, I waited for him for 20 minutes on the road, then just took another tuk tuk. He constantly wanted to take more money than was stated. As a result, even my laundry bill included his expenses for a taxi there and back, although this was not discussed and I'm paying for it for the first time. The most unpleasant thing was that on the last night before I left, he asked me what I didn't like, I told him and he started looking at me very angrily, I felt that he could do something very bad. It was very unpleasant and scary, I wanted to get out of this place as soon as possible. The room smelled of mold very strongly! Крайне НЕ РЕКОМЕНДУЮ этот отель, особенно одиночным путешественникам женщинам! Хозяин отеля очень навязчив от и до. Он пытался ежедневно убедить меня использовать его услуги в качестве водителя, так как все объекты находятся очень далеко и я сама не смогу до них добраться, НО ЭТО НЕ ПРАВДА! При чем иногда был необязателен и однажды просто не приехал за мной в назначенное время, я прождала его 20 мин на дороге, потом просто взяла другой тук тук. Постоянно хотел взять больше денег, чем было заявлено. В итоге даже за стирку в счет мне включили его расходы на такси туда и обратно, хотя это не оговаривалось и я с таким стакиваюсь в первые. Самое неприятное было то, что в последний вечер перед моим отъездом он спросил, что мне не понравилось, я сказала и он начал очень злобно на меня смотреть, я чувствовала, что он может сделать что-то очень плохое. Было очень неприятно и страшно, хотелось поскорее убраться из этого места.

The owners are lovely, although a better level of English would make the communication much easier. The whole ambience of the place is really nice, a bit secluded, nestled in jungle plants. Such a romantic and charming setting, that I decided to stay for a second night. The room is cute, it's clean and well maintained. They accomodated to my dietery requirements for the breakfast, which was really nice of them.

A mosquito net for the bed would help a lot. My second night I couldn't sleep much because of the mosquitos. They offered to pick me up on arrival, wich sounded nice, but it was actually a bit of a hassle, as I had to wait for them to find me. You are better off just grabbing a tuk tuk from the street, it might be cheaper also.

Nous y avons séjourné lors d'un épisode très pluvieux, de ce fait, la chambre était humide et une odeur s'en dégageait. Malgré leur sympathie et leur accueil, nous avons trouvé le personnel beaucoup trop insistant concernant les activités et les services proposés. C'est dommage car cela complique les rapports avec nos hôtes.

Hôtes très courtois, ont tout fait pour nous aider. Nous ont facilité les démarches de visites. Petit déjeuner de qualité, cadre tout à fait charmant. On recommande !

Nejvíce jsme ocenili terasu, která byla obklopena zelení, což velmi zpříjemnilo nás pobyt. Dále chci pochválit welcome čaj a snídaně, které byly moc dobré. Majitel nám také zařídil půjčení skútru (3000 LRK/den), který nám byl dovezen přímo na ubytování.

Přehnaná snaha nabídnou nám doplňkové služby jako byl třeba celodenní výlet s tuktukem. Někdo to možná ocení, ale my jsme měli vlastní plán a obtěžovalo nás majitele neustále odmítat. Na pokoji chyběla moskytiéra, což byl celkem problém, jelikož komárů tam bylo velké množství. Lokalita ubytování je daleko od města a do centra je možné jet jen tuktukem nebo jít podél poměrně frekventované silnici.
