Provider-sourced guest reviews.
The host did not communicate about the booking until the next morning and refused to let me stay the evening I arrived, claiming there was no booking. I contacted booking.com for a refund as I had to find other accommodation .
Nothing
Nothing
Owner was very helpful and considerate, particularly supportive as my wife had broken wrist.
Nothing. Coral took our booking in December; took our money in March; cancelled our booking when we arrived to check in; refunded our payment to someone else’s credit card; and left us stranded in a strange town without the accommodation we had paid for, needing to find replacement accommodation and pay for it again. When we later questioned the failure of the refund to appear, apparently she has a clear policy of no refunds, and I would agree, had WE cancelled the stay. Also, for a company with a clear policy of no refunds, WHY did she give me a credit card refund slip, with someone else's credit card details on? Yes, we told her it was the wrong card at the time, we showed her the card to refund too, but she told us it was "booking.com's" card. I wonder, of the dozen or so reviews of this type, were we all catching the ferry the following day? Do Travellers leaving town the next day make for a much easier mark? All I can hope is that the NZD$220 she stole from me is compensation enough for the review I am leaving her.
The short version, for those not wanting to read the full story is that I found the hotelier, Coral, to be particularly rude and prickly, and her actions could almost amount to fraud. She took our booking, took our money, cancelled our booking, refunded our money to someone else’s credit card, and left us stranded in a strange town without the accommodation we had paid for, needing to find replacement accommodation and pay for it again. I cannot recommend that ANYONE stay with her – my personal experience is that she let the room we had booked and paid for out to someone else, and when I complained that she wasn’t fulfilling her contract, she CANCELLED my booking with Booking.com and paid my refund to someone else’s credit card. This left us stranded, late in the afternoon, in an unfamiliar town, and without accommodation for the night. I suggest you do a lot more digging before you book any stay with this establishment and check out the 1-star reviews – they paint a similar picture over time.
In a great location, walking distance to downtown, with great little restaurants.
Excellent location, staff was extremely helpful and considerate
The breakfast was lovely! They provided a variety of home made components, along with cereal, toast and spreads. The display of the food was professional and lovely. Ahaha don't let the butter fool you, it's not ice cream. The staff was very flexible and accommodating. I checked in after 10pm, due to delay. They also allowed me to leave my luggage after checking out so that I could explore Picton and come pick up my stuff later. The location was truely convenient.
Coral was a very welcoming host. We loved the retro style of our unit and were very impressed by the spaciousness and cleanliness of the motel.
For the price and location there's really nothing we could complain about.
Walking distance to main street Picton. Good parking.
Although it was clean, and all the windows were open when we arrived, it was very musty. The internet was terrible, we could log in, but it wouldn't even load facebook. The loungeroom chairs weren't very comfortable. There were only 2 teabags.
Very friendly and welcoming staff. Excellent continental breakfast with freshly prepared ingredients. Easy walk from ferry terminal and centre of town.
Didn't bother me particularly but some might struggle with the very small and narrow sink in the single room. Otherwise all good.
Everything 🤗
Nothing 🤗
Friendky people.
..
Spotlessly clean and everything we needed. Owner/Staff very helpful. Would definitely recommend!
Grossartiger Empfang, unglaublich freundlich die ganze Zeit, ob am Gang vorbei an der Rezeption oder beim Frühstück. Es war mir eine Freude und Ehre die beiden grossartigen Frauen kennenzulernen!
Hospitality and clean
The security light outside our room that was activated by the wind throughout the night
Wir sind sehr herzlich empfangen worden, es gab abends sehr lebhafte, interessante Unterhaltungen mit der Besitzerin.
It was abed that we needed
It is very dated, needs an overhaul
B&B was traditional, very homely and comfortable. The ensuite was small but well formed. The shower was good. Rooms were very clean, neat and tidy. We had the Queen room which was a nice size. The breakfast was hit the spot. Cereal, fruit, toast and home made jam. Plenty of coffee and tea. Ladies working there were very nice and friendly. Our ferry back to North Island was late but we were able to keep the car in their car park after we checked out until needed.

La localización y la comodidad para entrar.
El baño. Una ventana abierta siempre. No es bueno por los bichos.
Great position Lovely staff
Accueil sympathique, bon emplacement
Il faisait froid dans la chambre et elle était bruyante
Stairs, but that goes with the territory.
Owners are friendly, knowledgeable and available. Location is great. Fruit compotes for breakfast were delicious. Coffee is good and strong.
WiFi was a problem except in the lounge and dining room (owner explained why and has done what she can to remediate it). I would have appreciated more protein at breakfast - maybe hard boiled eggs?
Arrived very late off Ferry. Was warmly welcomed by hosts.
motel was good but a bit dated facilities and decor
Near to ferry terminal
Extremely rude woman at reception. The desk was unmanned with a bell that said ring. I pressed it once giving one ding. No one answered or appeared. After a few minutes I gave it one more ding but still nothing. Eventually I thought that maybe the person was in a noisy environment and couldn’t hear it so I pressed it 3 times. Again no one answered and as I was about to give up and sit down a woman appeared. Instead of apologising she went into a rant about how not to press the bell and as I tried to speak she carried on talking over me. Definitely the wrong person for the job. The whole place is very tired smelling musty. The bathroom was/is very poor with one of the worst showers I’ve ever come across. Beware the shower is not fitted with mixer tap and possibly not a thermostat to stop you getting scolded.
In een oud huis is met liefde en aandacht een leuke B&B gecreëerd. Een betrokken gastvrouw.
Niets
Proximity to town centre
Offered a a very tiny cramped room for 2 nights when more spacious rooms were available, not good value for money ie. $360... outdated, staff were impolite & disrespectful. Breakfast was minimal, situated on the main & noisy road Internet was not accessible from my room....a very dissapointed stay!
Die Lage .
Das Zimmer war sehr klein. Das Bad kaum größer als ein Kleiderschrank. Das Frühstück war sehr bescheiden. Tost, Butter und Marmelade .
Lovely staff. Good breakfast
Very small bedroom and even smaller bathroom
All the ladies were very friendly and we were made very welcome. The B & B is very homely and pleasant. Our room was a nice size and the bed was comfortable. Ensuite was small but was fine Breakfast was nice, with lovely homemade jam and a good supply of coffee. Located close to the port, shops and restaurants. Picton is a pretty town to stay overnight.

It was very clean.
The street light beamed into the room all night.
Someone was there to let us in at midnight from ferry, nice kitchen, unit was clean, shower was good
Quite out dated Over priced for what it was
Lovely friendly B and B, location great for town and ferry.
More options at breakfast
Staff great, unit clean...
Couldn't access WIFI in unit. No hot water/ soap in shower. Loose mat in kitchen, slip hazard.
Ioved tfe fruits
Nette Gastgeberinnen, gute Lage. Einrichtung etwas älter aber tiptop.
Walking distance to the town and facilities
Sehr netter Aufenthalt
Nice friendly people
It was unique. Exceptionally clean! Lovely family run business with wise, calm helpful people involved.
The staff were friendly and cheerful, and the location was very convenient.
The room was quite noisy (very close to reception), the wifi mostly didn't work (weak, intermittent signal mad streaming impossible), there were few outlets, and despite the room description claiming there would be a TV, there was not.
Aardige mensen
Great place and great host
Water pressure in shower
Good location , 5 minute walk into town . Close to marina and numerous walks in the area. Lovely , friendly, helpful family run business .
Nothing to dislike , property is a little dated but is clean .
Proximity to the city centre, welcoming staff. Cleanliness and the way the unit was equiped.
Wifi was difficult to access. Furnishings were a bit dated.
The price was good. They also accomodated me arriving on a late ferry. I also liked the shared lounge and the breakfast.
I think next time I would book one of their motels, on the same property, for a bit of added privacy. My room was right next to the check in counter but because they were so busy I was lucky to get that.
The accommodation was OK, but from two reservations I was already charged from my Credit Card, I had none, and had to pay my stay for the third time with debit card.
I cannot communicate with Booking.com about, because the communication requires a lot of proovs, and communication abruptly cuts. Needing an a- mail to solve this
Posizione e ampiezza alloggio
Lovely hosts and staff.
Location and hosts are excellent. We stayed in a motel unit and it is really good value for money, with everything you need, and super clean despite it being quite old. The accommodation was very close to everything Picton has to offer, so it was great to be able to walk everywhere. Would happily stay again.
The weather was unseasonably cold, and the unit could get quite chilly at times.
Excellent location to access water front and cafes by foot. A simple breakfast to set you up for day. Had everything you needed for a stay.
A bit dated, but was clean and comfortable
את היחס של הצוות, יכולנו שנגיע מהמעבורת שהגיע ב12 בלילה
Furniture not clean and worn Needs replacing
Super friendly staff and convenient location
Good old fashioned B & B , taking a step back to the 70s Lovely friendly hosts
Friendly
Not much to say.
Host was very accommodating considering my late arrival. My room was perfect for my short stay. Beautiful breakfast. Would stay again.
Coral was fabulous, friendly, funny and very helpful.
