The Greytown Loft

We liked absolutely everything, and agree with every positive comment that has been posted. There is no detail, no matter how small, that Cherry has not thought of and provided for. We arrived as strangers and left 4 nights later feeling as though we had made new friends.

The Breakfast was great, plenty of different choices, home made stewed apples with yogurt was lovely. Home made ginger loaf was just the best with our coffee. Easy walking distance to town.

The entire accommodation was wonderfully presented with great little touches. This included the home made ginger loaf, the muesli with the boutique yoghurt and stewed apples, the range of T2 teas etc. There were also lovely seating areas. My wife and I were both saying that if the weather had been poor that we would have been very happy just to spend time relaxing in the accommodation. Even though this was in a loft there were inspiring views from the various windows. And the skylight windows allowed a lot of natural light and sunlight into the accommodation.

There is not much to say here. In an ideal world I would have liked another surface in the bathroom.

Cherry and Paul are truly some of the kindest and most welcoming people we have met in New Zealand. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel so comfortable and genuinely cared for. We stayed at the Loft during our trip to the Golden Shears, and after long days , our favourite part was always coming back to it. The Loft is beautifully decorated but still feels cosy and comfortable Cherry very kindly made us some home baking during our stay, which was absolutely amazing and such a thoughtful gesture that meant a lot to us. My partner and I have been away from our home in Scotland for several months now, and it can sometimes be hard to feel at home when you’re so far away. But during our time here, we truly did feel at home. Cherry and Paul created such a warm, welcoming atmosphere that made our stay really special. We are so grateful we had the chance to stay here, and it’s a place we will always remember fondly. If you’re booking accommodation in New Zealand, I honestly couldn’t recommend the Greytown Loft more highly. It’s a truly special place with wonderful hosts and a very sweet dog (Murphy)

The Loft is exceptional in every sense of the word. Very friendly welcome, spotlessly clean, beautiful decor, and great location (very quiet, but only a couple of minutes walk from the centre of town). The breakfast and everything provided is way beyond what you would ever get anywhere else.

Gorgeous self-contained room, with all the small touches that make a stay so special. Luxurious, cosy and so peaceful. Hosts who were so accommodating and professional. We left very reluctantly when our weekend away came to an end. Cannot recommend highly enough.

A stunning space to relax in. The loft is impeccably presented and incredibly close to the town centre, yet feels peaceful and private. Cherry is a wonderful host. She gives a brief introduction to the loft on arrival and then leaves you to enjoy the space in complete privacy. We were welcomed with a gorgeous gingerbread to nibble on, and the breakfast and treats Cherry provides are wonderful. The extra touches are impeccable, from the delicious tea and coffee selection to marshmallows ready for your hot chocolate. Everything has been thoughtfully prepared. A tranquil delight. Go and enjoy.

Absolutely everything. The wonderful welcome, the outstanding decor, the little extras to make our stay exceptional, everything was perfect.

The loft was beautiful, comfortable, spacious and only a short stroll into town. Cherry was an amazing host, thought of everything even leaving us a lovely ginger cake with candles to celebrate hubby’s birthday.

The apartment wowed us right from opening the door and kept giving for our wonderful 3 nights there! Cherry and Paul were great hosts and made us feel so welcome and were so helpful. From the ambiance of the room with quality linens & furnishings to Cherry's decorating touches, we were pampered & relaxed. The bed was super comfortable. Beautiful bath and bathroom with underfloor heating, robes to use & quality toiletries. Loved Cherry's welcoming ginger loaf for afternoon tea! Breakfast provided was very generous, from home stewed apple, nut Muesli, yoghurt, bread, large array of condiments & milks. Location to Greytown Shopping Village was amazing, just across the road & down a drive - yet it was so quiet. We were there for the Mid Winter Christmas & loved every minute of the opening night of the festival, such a great winter occasion to go to. We felt very spoilt & rested after our 3 night stay - a sumptuous space with super hosts. Definitely will be returning and recommending to all. Thanks so much Cherry, Paul & special dog Murphy!

Attention to detail so we felt pampered and comfortable. Welcomed by home-made baking & everything we needed for a leisurely stay. Quiet location with main street a few minutes walk away; easy to explore beautiful Greytown on foot. Featherston ( Booktown) nearby.

A warm welcome from our host, Cherry, was just the beginning of a wonderful stay in this stylishly appointed, yet homely and cosy loft apartment. It was so nice to call home and come back to at the end of each day, offering everything you could ask for, and many other extras, like homemade bread and ginger loaf. The super king bed was extremely comfortable, and all linen, towels and furnishings top quality; so much attention to detail. The bathroom included a wonderfully large bath with lavender bath salts, and fluffy robes to climb into. We also enjoyed having access to several streaming services for watching movies on the smart TV. On top of all of this, Cherry offered us the use of two bikes during our stay, and local info on where we could cycle as well as recommendations for what we might enjoy. From the start to our reluctant end, the stay exceeded our expectations, and our host, Cherry, went above and beyond to ensure that we had all we needed and were well looked after, whilst also giving us space and privacy. Book it, you won’t regret it!

The location was perfect, so quiet and restful. Breakfast was delicious, even fresh home baked bread, stewed apples in the fridge all home made. Very spoilt.

The hosts cherry and Paul were very welcoming, the guest suite beautifully appointed and special touches like the bath robes, the sheepskin lined chairs in the breakfast nook, the breakfast area and cherry especially catered for me as I have dietary restrictions so I had wonderful food options. Went the xtra mile and did clothes washing plus other things that made my trip worry free. Paul collected something special for me as he was going into wtgn central and honestly that was above and beyond but meant I wasn't caught in traffic monday morning. So i truely appreciate the thoughtfulness. Pointed out things to see in greytown, how to get to martinborough. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there, you are an impressive pair, impeccable place due to cherry flair as an interior designer. Thank you so much.

It was amazing. Spacious, airy, great decor, amazing home baked goods. Breakfast was nice but not used as we went out. Felt really at home and was quite luxuriant. Enjoyed being a stones throw from the main street and eateries. Cherry was a lovely host who we felt wanted us to really enjoy our stay. It's a nice private space with views out of all windows.

A luxurious haven.....Cherry provided delicious baking and breakfast food. With the beautiful decor, comfy furniture, delightful personal touches and gorgeous garden, The Loft truly was food for out tummies and for our soul. Just perfect ! A great location, so close to walk and explore the Greytown shops and eateries. It was a treat that our stay coincided with Ruth Prettys' Book Sale in the Town Hall. We enjoyed visiting nearby Martinborough, and the many quaint bookshops in Featherston. Thankyou for our lovely weekend.

An absolutely wonderful place to stay in Greytown. Beautifully appointed with everything we needed including very generous breakfast supplies and a plate of ginger crunch on arrival! The fresh flowers were an added touch. Cherry was a welcoming and wonderful host. The Greytown Loft is warm, comfortable, private and peaceful. Within minutes walk to the main street, it is the perfect place to explore everything that the Wairarapa has to offer.

The location was fantastic and very quiet. Less than 5 minutes to the main street. Cherry our host had stewed fruit for us, baked a delicious ginger slice and provided us with everything we could need for breakfast and more. We felt so relaxed in the gorgeous loft.

This was a wonderful, comfortable, large, place to stay when we needed a quiet place for a getaway from Wellington. Close to all Greytown facilities, just a couple of minutes walk to the high street, but tucked away in a quiet road away from the traffic. Lovely host who provided more than we could have asked for.

I don't know what it is about Greytown, but it does boutique accommodation exceptionally well, and the Greytown Loft is no exception. We intended to book another favourite in town but left it too late, so chose here as the alternative. Met upon arrival by the owner and shown around before being left to admire the tastfully furnished interior. A big space with room to move, home baking, a proper fridge, plenty of tea, coffee, milk and breakfast treats, TV with Amazon, Netflix etc on demand, a nice deep bath in a large bathroom and, best of all, a supremely comfortable bed with quality linen. The loft is literally 5 minutes' walk from the town centre, yet it is blissfully quiet, being set back from the street and access road. There's a radiator for those cooler nights and a small but effective heater to take any chill off otherwise. Easy chairs that are actually comfortable, too. If I had any negative, and I'd be pushing hard, it would be the water pressure in the shower is a little low, but that's really being pedantic. All in all, it's a great place for a romantic getaway, etc.

The Loft in Greytown exceeded our expectations. We were greeted by the host. They showed us up to our room and it was magnificent. The room was HUGE, the bathroom was excellent and the views were great. Cherry had made us some fudge plus some delicious stewed Rhubarb to have with our nut muesli. We could not have asked for anything more. There was instant coffee, plunger coffee and a coffee machine plus 6 different sorts of tea. We were supplied with a full-size milk (2 different sorts) and a loaf of Freya's bread - how did she know that was what we normally eat at home! The bed was super comfy and we both slept throughout the night. Who could ask for more? NOT US. Thank you Cherry and Paul.

Utterly fabulous.....the best accommodation I have ever had, anywhere, and at any price. Brand new 5 star luxury with private access and parking yet only 2 minutes walk to the centre of town. Totally quiet and peaceful with flowers from the garden in the dining area and bathroom. The attention to detail was fanatical, spotless and beautifully furnished by Cherry who is an interior designer. We wanted for nothing. We stayed for two days and the fridge was stocked with home made delicacies for our breakfast. It's the sort of place you would go to just for the pleasure of staying to unwind. Greytown if you don't know it is magical, full of weird boutiques and cafes/restaurants and with plaques everywhere explaining the history of the town. Do yourself a favour, go out of your way, and add a day to your planned stay, you won't regret.

We were made to feel very welcome on arrival, and the owner goes above and beyond, including supplying a freshly made fruit loaf, and stewed apple to have with our breakfast, a great selection of tea and coffee selections. The Loft was beautifully presented and immaculately clean. Only a 10 minute walk to the main street in Greytown but nice and quiet off the main road. Hosts Cherry and Paul were very friendly and happy to help out but also respected our privacy. We really enjoyed our weekend staying here.

I loved everything about The Loft..the decor was beautiful, little touches everywhere showing the hosts really cared about our experience. The furnishings are luxurious and thoughtful...a basket of books, dish of sweets, even a freshly baked cake to welcome us! The nook with lovely sheepskin covered seats at the window, the comfy chairs and ottoman to recline in and read or watch a movie, or just enjoy a cup of tea and that lovely cake. Lovely bedlinens, luxurious bathrobes, a variety of teas and nespresso coffee pods, freshly poached pears for our breakfast had we not made breakfast plans elsewhere. The weather wasn't great but that did not take away from our break, and in fact when we weren't out looking around Greytown and further afield on the Wairarapa coast, it was a pleasure to just relax back at the accommodation. Nothing was too much...Cherry even lent me a pair of gloves on the freezing evening we chose to stroll around enjoying the mid winter street celebrations, and providing a thermos when we went for a long drive. Just a most wonderful experience and accommodation that I cannot recommend enough :)
