Niets, heerlijk verblijf gehad. Hou er wel rekening mee dat je maaltijden moet aanschaffen ter plekke aangezien er niets in de buurt zit. Daarnaast moet je contant betalen wat het net wat lastiger maakt.

Reviewed Apr 22, 2026So peaceful. Right on the beach. The bed in front of the room with the longer was perfect for just hanging out on and still being in the shade. The owner went above and beyond to make me comfortable.
Not transparent about food pricing ahead of time and it is cash only. I did not bring enough cash with me (it is 12usd per lunch and dinner, 8 for breakfast) so I couldn’t eat breakfast or lunch my last day and didn’t eat until I arrived at my next destination around 6pm.
I also wish there was a cheaper, lighter option for lunch/dinner. Not just a 3 course meal with enough food to feed a family. It felt very wasteful as a solo traveler.
Also FYI if you want lunch when you arrive you need to say the day before.
Also dont believe the tuktuk driver if he tells you the buses will be full or wont leave for hours. The tuktuk arranged by the hotel tried to trick me into paying 12k lkr for a tuktuk to my next destination. When we arrived at the bus station, the bus was right there. I got a seat and left 5 minutes later. Super easy

Spectacular beach side location on the edge of Yala National Park. Compact and comfortable rooms set within a beautiful garden frequented by all manner of birds and animals. The rugged coast is a short walk away. At night, all is peaceful and the sky was clear with an amazing display of the milky way.
Hansa and his wife, the hosts, were very helpful in organising a morning safari and the food was all delicious.
Beautiful, relaxing stay.
The location is amazing. Your at the beach and also very close to the entrance of the Yala NP. The owner is very kind and his wife cooks amazing food. She is from Laos. So the food is a mixture of Indian curry's and here twist. We booked the Safari with him. Do private Jeep. Very on time. We were number 8 in the line to get in. And... we saw 2 jaguars, a black bear, elephants etc etc
It's was totally okay. But if you book the 8 m2 room your private , big bathroom is across your room. Do you have to go outside and crossover to the bathroom. A bit of excitement knowing as the owner told he has had elephants, bears and jaguar in his garden. 😬
This place is very isolated. It is situated on a beach which is nice for a walk but too dangerous to swim in. The sound of the waves is lovely and it does get a sea breeze which is a god send as Yala is so hot!
The rooms are tiny and very basic but clean. We found the a/c essential but it was very noisy, although I imagine this will be resolved.
It is 5km away from the town and so we ate dinner on the premesis which was absolutely divine!
For Sri Lankan standards, compared to other properties that we've stayed in (nine others) we think that it was rather expensive, although there are only four rooms and on the beach so it is quite special. We only stayed one night and we were the only guests at the property.

Reviewed Apr 6, 2025Amazing place, right by the beach, & a short drive to the entrance of Yala NP. Our hosts organised a fantastic safari for us - many elephants, & a sleeping leopard. The home cooked food was delicious. Many birds to watch from the day beds or chairs on the porch. Thoroughly recommend.
This house is a unique place at a beatiful, empty beach, simply breathtaking! The owner is really kind, they make us feel home, they prepared delicious dinner with special request for the kids, and the breakfast was also fantastic after our safari in the very early morning. We could even have a coffee at 5 am before the safari. Yala entrance was about 2p min drive from there.
As the house is in the middle of the nature, you can expect it to be quite minimalistic, hear the animals. Bed was comfy. The shower / bathroom opens to the open air, but has a mosquito net. It would be maybe great to have a mosquito net on the windows too, so we could get some fresh / hot (?) air in. The rooms have good working AC. It was a good place for our short stay, the beach is just sooo beautiful there, not for swimming though. You can hear the waves from the house. Thank you for the owner couple for sharing this experience with is.

The locations is absolutely amazing. It is close to the park gate as well. The owner and the other guy working there are super nice and attentive.
One thing I take one star because is that we were informed that dinner is 12 usd per person, and breakfast 8. That was fine, even though its expensive for Sri Lanka, the food was good. However when it came to pay, we were also charged 10 percent on top of the food. This is not the best way to run business people. It will always leave a bitter taste not to be informed about it beforehand. And that’s when you are forced to use their services as there are no other options around. I felt uncomfortable.

Reviewed Sep 28, 2024If I have to say which is great : the location is great。 Right next to the yala entrance, the beach is beautiful.
I arrived at the hotel after Yala safari in the evening, and the caretaker insisted there was no reservation for me and tried to kick me out: next to the safari park, nothing around and wasn't even downtown.
The reason is that another local group booked the same room at the same time after I made my reservation that day, and they decided to cancel mine. However, instead of call me directly, he just sent me a message at booking.com .
Who is going to read the booking message? especially when the safari phone has no signal!
Eventually, the caretaker decided to "take me in" and give me an extra room, but charged me the price of a normal room.
But from the beginning to the end, I never felt welcome, I paid the money, and I was as careful as begging. The caretaker seemed to care more care of the local family and made me feel that I was redundant, but I had nowhere to go but to lie on bed that was less than 4 square room until I fall sleep.
Very, very bad and sad experience, the room was very small, the toilet was outside and very inconvenient , there was no air conditioning, I had to open the window, it was very noisy outside, the mosquito net didn't work and it made it more difficult to sleep.
Finally, I woke up at 4am in the morning and all I wanted to do was get out of the place as quickly as possible. So sad…

Reviewed Mar 15, 2024Fantastic location, close to long stretch of empty beach. The host Hansa is super friendly and makes amazing Sri Lankan breakfast and dinner. The room was simple, but perfectly comfortable, with quiet and effective air con. Access is down a very bumpy unmade road, but iur driver had contacted the hotel in advance and arranged to meet Hansa on the main road and he picked us up. The safari organised by the hotel was very good.
We had the odd frog visiting us in the room. It didn't bother us, but some might be more so.
Awesome location surrounded by nature and a huge "private" beach. Exceptional meals (dinner is recommended) and very nice staff. They also organize the safari with a very good driver for a reasonable price. Would love to return
Gorgeous architecture, and location near the beach.
It’s a shame to see a place that has such great potential be so disappointing. This was one of the places I was most looking forward to staying, but it ended up being the worst stay of our 3.5 weeks in Sri Lanka. The most uncomfortable beds we have ever experienced. WiFi was not functioning. While the semi-outdoor bathroom is beautiful, the shower and toilet are constantly filled with frogs that jump on you. The patio area outside the room is awkwardly shared with the room next door, and one side is inexplicably filled with 4 single beds (which were covered with filthy sheets so that you would never consider lying on them). You need to have all your meals there as you are very secluded, while one dinner was fine, one was absolutely awful and the blandest food we have tasted in Sri Lanka (after being asked multiple times if we like spicy food and answering in the affirmative). In addition, there are no cold drinks (coke, beer or even water) for sale, so after a long hot day of safari we couldn’t even have a cold drink. The service in general was awkward and uncomfortable (the host even sat and watched us eat our meals). The rooms themselves are extremely small, which would not be an issue except there was not even a spot for us to keep our backpacks (we’re traveling with one 40L bag per person, not huge suitcases).
The food was fresh and good but there were flies on the food sometimes. The beach was good.
There were frogs in the toilet that freaked us out and roving dogs.
Get rid of the frogs and keep the dogs away from the guests. Also the jeep used to pick us up was in a horrible condition.)’n

Reviewed Feb 7, 2024We spent two nights in this little resort at a lonely beach right next to Yala NP. We just wanted to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. You can stroll along the long beach, collect shells and watch the sea birds. The owner Hansa and his assistant and cook made us feel very comfortable and served us delicious meals and great breakfasts with big fruit plates, once even the Sri Lankan style breakfast. The curries and the fish dishes were outstanding and very tasty! It was a three-course meal every evening cooked just for us! The price for these meals was absolutely okay for us. Hansa is a very knowledgeable person who can tell you a lot of interesting things about life in Sri Lanka if you ask him. We especially enjoyed sleeping outside on the big porch where there are three beds to relax in during day and night. The unforgettable highlight of our stay, however, was watching an elephant at about four o’clock in the morning, eating some leaves from his favorite tree next to the main house and then passing silently by the veranda where we were breathless (and a little nervous) onlookers!
Our budget room was tiny and very basic, so we were happy to sleep outside. We would definitely recommend to opt for this unique chance. Maybe you will also see a friendly elephant!

Reviewed Oct 15, 2023Would recommend staying here for the Yala Safari. The host can organize for you with an experienced guide. When you get to the park the difference in experience is night and day between those tearing around the park and those which know to wait and allow the animals to come out. Can't fault the location either, super close to Yala with a little private beach. Apparently elephants and turtles both frequent the area too, but not when we were there.
Bed was a bit thin for a side sleeper.
Good quiet location to disconnect and go to yala, the host can also arrange a great safari for you.
The room size is very small and basic. We knew that the location is quite off grid so that meals would have to be eaten on the property but they are comparatively expensive, 48$ for 2 dinners was more than we paid anywhere during our 3 weeks in Sri Lanka and this is not communicated until receiving the bill upon departure which was a quite a shock.
