The bed was good and it was nice and clean
Everything was fine
Historical charm
Shared kitchen not ideal
Unexpected continental breakfast, hadn’t realised it was included, nice surprise
Handy location right in the centre of town. Excellent facilities and super comfy bed.
Clean and well presented room, Good value for money, well maintained heritage property.
Squeaky bed and not very sound proof when cars drive past you/people talking in the corridor.
The building is characterful and homely, and the bathroom was clean. The bed was very big.
I think the general cleanliness could be improved, for example in the kitchen and also large cobwebs in places. The mattress was exceptionally soft and unsupportive, possibly even on it's last legs. Breakfast is very very basic but sufficient.
The site from the Steet certainly does not look like accommodation, but once you get inside you are met with a charming venue that is a jump back into the past. The instructions for gaining entry and as to what room we were allocated was very well done Our room was a very quaint room but sufficient in size for the two of us. The bonus for us was that the old Safe had been turned into an ensuite, complete with old (heavy) steel vault door. To the rear of the building was a shared space - lounge and kitchen/ dining area. Our Continental Breakfast was clearly marked and left for our use.
Our only feedback would be that our beautiful bed squeaked, every time you moved either onto the bed or in it. I would suggest possibly either rubber or nylon washers for where the bed bolts together may eliminate this, as these points seemed to be the culprits.
Different and so with the era . Felt like we were back in the 1800s except a beautiful modern en-suite to top it off
Nothing
super comfy bed
can't fault anything
Beautiful, clean it was absolutely perfect
Nothing - it was perfect
location
Great. Everything expected for a Continental Breakfast.
Great welcome by host, amazing rooms with character decor. We were lucky to have the place to ourselves. Kitchen and lounge facilities.
No key in lock box and no breakfast first morning
didnt feel it was value for money
Location smack bang in the middle of town! What more could you ask for.
Nothing, everything was on point.
Location great Friendly hostess Lovely place For me mattress was a bit soft but partner liked it
All good
The design, the comfort, space and uniqueness as well as the thoughtfulness of the main area along with complimentary snacks/breakfast.
Since the change of name from Reef cottage to the Barristers I liked the subtle differences, and it meet all my expectations
Very clean, comfortable, warm.
Light from the hallway really high up was beaming into the room. I couldn't turn that outside room light off.
The breakfast. Comfortable bed. Shower although only if noone using basin water!!
Cold on arrival. No reading light on one side of bed. Perhaps some more spread options at breakfast - honey, vegemite, marmalade???
Great
Electric blankets
We had the Judges Room. It was beautifully decorated and well finished with quality fittings. The location is excellent with easy walking to restaurants and a little supermarket next door.
Another guest took all the breakfast items in the shared fridge that was marked for our room as well as their own. Not the fault of the establishment but very rude of the other guests.
I arrived Kate but had an easy check in with the lock box at the cafe next door
Nothing. It’s great.
Love the period look and feel
Location, facilities
The mattress on the bed was sloping in one side
loved the original character of the Inn, my bathroom was actually in the original strong room with a massive metal door. Very nicely decorated in character of the era, the exterior is under whelming but the interior is beautiful.
Very comfortable and stylish. Cosy, well thought out. Lovely bathroom.
The location and the staff were fantastic.
The bed was too soft, but that’s ok.
I would highly recommend staying at this wonderful ,warm interesting place It was full of memorabilia . It had everything there to enjoy a night in and relax. I highly recommend the experience
Beautiful room, and right in centre of town.nice area outback to sit with your coffee. We should of ordered the breakfast as we seen. What was on offer in the fridge we were gutted we never ordered one.
We loved everything.
It was nice to have breakfast supplied, one less thing for us to think about. The breakfast area and lounge room were of a nice size.
Only had about a 1/4 of a roll of toilet, couldn't find a spare in the room or common areas. One of the other ladies had the same issue, lucky we both had a spare roll in our cars :)
Everything
Not much.
The comfort level was excellent. The owner was absolutely wonderful. It was exceptionally quiet. Every single space in the place was SO Clean!!
Nothing to comment on. We were Very pleased.
Very conveniently located in the Main Street of Reefton’s historic town centre. Easy access from street parking outside front door to our room at the rear of the property. No street noise like when we last stayed, when our window opened to the street so we then heard traffic and people walking by. Useful kitchen facilities and and pre packed breakfast provided. Some discussions enjoyed with other guests in living and kitchen area
Communication from the hosts was limited when we enquired before arrival. The outside space at the back of the property seemed a bit neglected, making enjoyment of that part of the property less attractive
Great location Excellent continental breakfast Great decor fitting for a real west coast experience
Location was great the breakfast was over and above what was expected. Room was lovely with comfie bed and the bathroom was extremely good.
The little step up into our room (the judges room) I tripped on this wee step and fell into the room and no there was no alcohol involved.
Great accommodation and friendly staff. Would recommend.
large room, bed, very clean through out.
couldn't get the floor heater work, so the room was cold
Fantastic place to stay in Reefton. A wonderful self-serve breakfast is provided that includes yoghurt, cereal, fruit, toast etc...
Good breakfast
All good
Perfect location for Reefton . Exceptional rooms and very very clean.
Nothing
This B and B is exceptional. We adored the historical decor, the ensuite in The Attorneys Suite is luxurious indeed with a bath as well, and the shared kitchen, with its big table and eight chairs, was a lovely place to gather our group. The location, of course, is central to everything, and it is quiet and peaceful. We really enjoyed our stay here!
The property is a very old building but well maintained and clean, with the old and new rooms blending together. The breakfast supplied was an added bonus and was very quiet for sleeping. Parking at the front of the building made access easy to transfer suitcases. Being in the middle of the Main Street made easy walking to cafes etc. Would recommend and would stay again if ever in Reefton.
Chontel and family were so friendly and helpful! The accommodation was very neat and we loved the special features (like the safe door for our ensuite) The breakfast provided was above our expectations also. WiFi was great.
Nothing!
We enjoyed the shared breakfast room and living space where we got to meet some other travellers, It was very well appointed with everything we needed and very organised.
Very central and surprisingly quiet. Clean room and suite
Very small room and bed very soft but it was ok for one night. Could not shut bathroom door. Could have put a bit more thought into breakfast but it was ok . A filter coffee would have been good but if there was one I didn’t find it.
Very quaint, beautifully clean and with a surprise breakfast.
Great location, great bathroom etc
Ah the bed was a bit out of level, felt like I was falling out of bed all night
Great location and great facilities
Quirky but highly recommendable.
Amused by the " vault" bathroom door. Served our needs perfectly. Kitchen, variety of breakfast choice was great. The entire establishment we absolutely loved & would definitely stay again & would recommend to others.
There is nothing we can think of that needs improving.
The room was warm and clean,
The TV was not working well and had a line through it that made it hard to watch, the bed was very soft and squeaky so was not good for a night sleep. We have stayed a few time before and liked it so was a bit disappointing this time.
Location, value for money
Only suggestion would be to provide some kitchen roll / paper towels for the shared kitchen.
Bardzo ładny i czysty pokój, pomocny personel, wszystko ok. Rano w lodówce czekało na nas w śniadanie.
So clean and quaint!
Not a thing.
Just about everything
The room was a bit gloomy for old eyes like ours
Old worldy decor & atmosphere..
Lovely old building, beautifully renovated with great attention to detail. Liked that our bathroom was in an old strong room/vault.Free leftover pies from the café next door was great. Lovely garden courtyard out the back.
Bed was squeaky which woke me up whenever one of us turned over. Our room was right on the street and we were woken by trucks roaring past in the early hours of the morning.
Quirky, comfortable accommodation. Very clean. Breakfast provided for self catering in the well equipped kitchen. Nice communal lounge area plus outside seating area.
Lockbox self check in.
Spotlessly clean, excellent communication. Beautifully decorated and great to have a self-serve breakfast
I had the Judges room, and that King bed, all to myself and could easily (and happily ) have fitted more people in . I have been on the move around the South Island for three weeks and that room was by far the most spectacular and comfortable that I experienced over that time ! It is a stunner. Robin Manson.
The fact that I had to leave after only one night.
Was nicely furnished and decorated, central to shops, supermarket etc, very clean and breakfast included!
Nothing
Very cool rooms, centrally located! Good breakfast and back deck to lounge.
There was a hallway window high up in our room, light was left on the first night, a bit bright.
Location great breakfast what we expected
Toilet seat broken no fan because it was very hot
Love the detail - Fantastic place to stay 5*
Bathroom was beautiful. Clean and functional. Very soft bed. Located right in town surrounded by eating places.
Love the concept ver clean and comfortable
Room was great with a spacious bathroom and the sitting room lovely
Loved the situation and unique presentation.
Nothing negative about this property.
Great room and ensuite, nice kitchen and breakfast provision.
Nothing really - perhaps a second key would be good for flexibility purposes.
Breakfast very good as was the communal area
Lack of natural light in our room
Breakfast was perfect. The room was delightful, bathroom was great. We wished we could have stayed an extra day.
Just needed a bigger sign on our breakfast container 🤣
Accommodation in a historical building with easy access to restaurants and nearby walks.
Everything went well. The place was wonderful and quirky -filled with character. The breakfast was unexpected and extremely good. As was the package left in the fridge for our arrival. Very thoughtful Hosts
Central location, friendly management, very good bathroom, and great breakfast provisions.
Nothing - all good.
Everything was great
Very good breakfast
Lamp beside bed didn’t work…..we told cleaner but didn’t improve. Toilet seat is very loose. We were in the first room on the left as you enter front door.
Central to Reefton. Huge bed and very comfortable. Spotlessly clean and well equipped.
bathroom and breakfast
