Reviewed Jun 18, 2026A small BnB with only one room, Judith the host was really, really friendly and patient. She not only showed me the room but also recommended some nice bars and restaurants in town. The room was cozy and warm. Carpark available just outside the room.
A little bit far from town, you need to drive (5 minutes) or 30 minutes on foot.

Es hat einfach alles gestimmt und wir können das B&B ohne Vorbehalt weiterempfehlen. Einfach wunderbar, wenn man wie bei Freunden übernachten darf. Grosses Kompliment für alles an die Gastgeberin.
Da können wir lange überlegen, da gibt es keinen einzigen negativen Punkt.

They have a beautiful place and it was the perfect stay. 100% would stay here again and if you're reading this, this is your sign to BOOK IT!!

Mention particulière tout de même pour l'hôtesse qui est d'une gentillesse extrême et ça n'est pas peu dire en Nouvelle Zélande où nous n'avons rencontré que des gens sympathiques, on a envie de la prendre dans nos bras. Elle m'a préparé un petit déjeuner extraordinaire. Nous souhaitons qu'elle puisse vivre une retraite heureuse avec son mari.

Will recommend it to anyone staying in Stratford. I was bike touring on the SH 43 Forgotten World Highway, and the host kindly allowed me to store the bike safely in their garage overnight.

Reviewed Dec 7, 2025Die Eigentümerin ist äußerst freundlich und zuvorkommend, der Garten ein Traum. Obwohl die Unterkunft an der Hauptstraße liegt, ist es im Zimmer ruhig. Das Frühstück war hervorragend wurde uns sogar 5 Uhr zubereitet, da wir früh zum Shuttle der Vulkanwanderung mussten. Sehr guter Ausgangspunkt um dem Mount Taranaki zu erkunden.

Advice and tips on where to eat and the best route to the viewing platform on Mt Taraniki and its flying fox bridge over the gorge made our one night stay a great success.

Nothing really; the house is close to a major road out of Stratford, so you will notice the cars driving by; but the many trees and bushes in the lovely garden do their best to absord the noise ;-)
