Reviewed May 27, 2026This is one of the nicest properties we’ve stayed in. Fantastic layout, lovely inside, and everything needed for a stay. Some thoughtful extras like a night light in the bathroom, full length mirrors in bedrooms, fabulous coffee machine, make this place extra good.

Reviewed Mar 29, 2026You could really tell the host had an eye for detail. The location was perfect for walks on Mount Taranaki, just a very short drive away, and it was quiet and scenic. The place was also very clean, which made the stay even more comfortable. The thoughtful touches made a big difference too, complimentary snacks, breakfast items, milk, condiments, and even essentials like tampons and pads. The host kept in constant communication throughout, which made everything easy. I’d definitely stay here again.

Reviewed Jan 31, 2026The accommodation was perfect. The outfitting of the property is beyond expectations - everything has been thought of. The kitchen is so well equipped, nothing has been missed. The living area and bedrooms are very comfortable. The outdoor deck provides a great place to relax and enjoy the peaceful rural setting. And the cows and ducks are a very nice touch! This property is highly recommended and is deserving of its very high rating.

Reviewed Jan 11, 2026Was hat uns gefallen - ALLES! Es ist sauber, top ausgestattet (mehr als man braucht), die Lage ist super um Wanderungen am Taranaki zu machen oder ans Meer zu fahren. Das Städtchen ist süß und bietet essensmöglichkeiten. An der Unterkunft hat man komplett Ruhe, was wir sehr genossen haben. Wir wären gern länger geblieben!

Reviewed Jan 9, 2026Die Unterkunft ist super super sauber. Die Lage ist ein Traum da es sehr ruhig ist. Die Aufteilung der Zimmer ist super. Die Kommunikation mit Therese war sehr freundlich. Wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Betten waren auch sehr bequem und wir waren selten in einer so sauberen Unterkunft.

Host went extra mile to make us feel special ie treats left for us to enjoy, knew we had children so got some books for our girls to enjoy during our stay.

Reviewed Nov 7, 2025This home is one of the most beautiful we have ever visited. And it had absolutely everything you could possibly need or want for a comfortable stay. The kitchen is fantastic, every tool and device imaginable. Comfy beds, big windows, amazing views including mount Taranaki. Very quiet at night, great sleep! As good as the photos are, you have to be there to fully appreciate this amazing home and surroundings. We would love to return!

Reviewed Jul 31, 2025Therese goes out of her way to make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. As we were arriving late she went out of her way to make up the extra bed and have the heatpump on for our arrival. There were so many gestures that you don't find in normal accommodation places, everything was above expectations and we got a great view of the mountain. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to get away.

They had every detail covered, including a fully stocked kitchen with all the appliances etc. The quality of the bed linen, pillows and towels were all high quality. Beds were really comfy, even the fold out couch was amazing. It rained our whole trip and the heat-pump kept us nice and warm
Only issue was the dryer within the washer / dryer was only one temp and was too high for my clothes

Reviewed May 8, 2025The facilities were exceptional, everything we needed wash/dryer, dishwasher, cooking facilities was provided. Beds very comfy! Welcome snacks and breakfast provided which was a lovely surprise and just what we needed when we'd just arrived into NZ after 48 hours of flying. The views of Mt Taranaki were stunning. It perfectly balanced being close enough to all the sights, with nice and relaxing privacy. Excellent value for money.

We can’t recommend peaceful on Pembroke more highly. We came to hike to the base of taranaki volcano 🌋 we couldn’t of been in a better location.
There’s nothing to dislike. The accommodation is just the best.
