EVERYTHING!! The Winemakers Cabin was outstanding with more than we could ever want. So roomy and comfortable with lovely hosts who were very helpful and friendly. All the extras they provide such as home made bread, jam, honey from their bees, freshly made lemonade, yoghurt..... are so thoughtful and appreciated. They also have special food so that you can feed their sheep, chickens and deer - they have thought of it all. The whole property is beautifully designed and maintained and you are able to walk around it at your leisure which is great.
Nothing at all!
We had a lovely 2 night stay at St Leonards just outside Blenhiem in July, a perfect relaxing spot to experience the Marlborough region. Sharon and Jason were lovely hosts and gave us excellent recommendations for the local area as well as the rest of the South Island. The included breakast was lovely, cottage was very comfortable and warm, and the sheep were a an added bonus. Would stay again and highly recommend.
No improvements to be made, a perfect stay.
Our stay at St. Leonard’s was magical. The Wool Shed was cozy and well appointed with no detail left unattended. The warm blankets, tasty breakfast basket of local provision’s, inviting kitchens, and picturesque views at every angle made this a trip to remember. Jason and Sharon were wonderful hosts. Truly this is the most beautiful setting and we didn’t want to leave. We enjoyed snuggling and reading by the fire each evening and sharing meals at the table while recounting our daily adventures. We would love to return and visit all the wineries and local sites we missed. What an amazing stay.
The Woolshed cottage is well positioned to provide vineyard views and privacy. The outdoor bath was a treat and the fireplace at night brought warmth and cosy ambiance. Having the opportunity to feed the farm animals was also a nice countryside touch. Well located within the heart of the beautiful wine region. Total relaxation. We all enjoyed our stay at this wonderful cottage and highly recommend.
A lovely 3 day winter stay in the Stables with its cosy decor and fantastic views. It was spotless , quiet and the log burner was a great addition. Centrally placed amongst the vineyards of Blenheim. We were made most welcome by Sharon and Jason and we also enjoyed a top class cheese and charcuterie platter one evening.
We recently stayed for 4 nights in the Winemakers Cottage at Leonard’s Vineyard Cottages and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that Jason and Sharon have thought of every detail to make guests feel welcome and comfortable. We were looking for somewhere to slow down, relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings, and this place exceeded all expectations. The cottage was exceptionally well appointed, with high-quality inclusions throughout. The daily breakfast provisions were generous and a lovely touch, and even small details such as providing animal feed for the farm animals added to the overall experience and made our stay even more memorable. Jason and Sharon were fantastic hosts, offering great local winery recommendations and sharing their knowledge of the region. The facilities were first class, the setting was peaceful and picturesque, and the whole property is maintained to an incredibly high standard. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway in Marlborough, we highly recommend Leonard’s Vineyard Cottages. We would not hesitate to stay again. Thank you, Jason and Sharon, for such a wonderful stay.
From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Winemakers Cottage. The cottage is modern, spotless, and very well equipped, while still feeling warm, comfortable, and cosy. The bed is exceptionally comfortable and made for a great night’s sleep. Sharon and Jason are wonderful hosts: welcoming, personable, and full of humour. Their dinner service provided us with two delicious evenings of food, and their recommendation to visit Small Town Winery for a glass of wine was excellent. What makes this place truly special is the personal attention. You genuinely feel cared for as a guest. And it’s not just Sharon and Jason—the deer, sheep, and chickens add even more charm and character to the experience. This was without doubt one of the nicest places we stayed during our trip around New Zealand, and we would happily return.
Absolutely amazing location and stunning cottage. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a getaway. Will be planning another stay here! We stayed in “the stables” and it was incredible.
We came for 2 nights and stayed in the Shearers quarters. The accommodation was excellent and everything had been thought of for self catering purposes. The breakfast that was left in the room was superb from the cereal and fresh milk to the fresh eggs from the chickens and the fruit from the trees outside the windows. The pool was excellent. We did a Marlborough vineyards tour with Gavin and had a fantastic day and he picked us up from the front door at 10am and dropped us off at 4pm. The animals were lovely and it was great to be able to see them and meet the egg layers ❤️ The hosts Sharon and Jason were very helpful and friendly and Jason gave us a scenic route to our next destination which proved to be amazing. There is also a pottery on site as Sharon is an accomplished potter and has some great pieces on display and will soon be running pottery courses with accommodation. We wish we could have stayed longer and will be back 🤗
We stayed in the Woolshed at St Leonard's Cottages. The Woolshed was set amongst beautiful vineyards with every amenity you could want. A lovely breakfast supplied to make in the morning with a well equipped kitchen. The bed was very comfortable with lovely linen. The hosts Jason and Sharon were friendly, warm and accommodating.
What a wonderful find. Sharon and Jason thought of everything for our stay. The cottage was cosy, well appointed and beautifully decorated. Its location right in the middle of the premium wine region of New Zealand is just another reason for this accommodation to be so special.
Absolutely everything!!! The fastidiously clean cottage was so very cosy, with all the added touches of home. The extras were considerable with an abundance of yummy eggs, bread, butter, spreads, milk, nuts, fruit, yoghurt, coffee and chocolate.
Having to pack up and leave this lovely cottage. :(
The location was fantastic for touring the Marlborough wine region. Very relaxed place with well equipped and comfortable cottages. We loved getting animal feed each day to feed the fallow deer, chickens and sheep in the grounds. So peaceful and secluded. The additional option of food delivery really helpful. The owners Sharan and Jason were very helpful and even gave us a list of places to visit on our onward journey in the South Island. I would definitely recommend - a real gem!!
What a fantastic place! Everything was amazing - especially the smaller touches. There were fresh eggs for breakfast - just laid the same day! We could feed the sheep and deer - and it was in the middle of a vineyard - almost magical ! The owners - Sharon and Jason were amazing - always available for any help and suggestions. The dinners were incredible - we ordered in on both days - very high quality. We could even pick fresh fruit that had fallen off the trees. Just wow.
Everything was awesome
We had the great pleasure of spending two nights at St. Leonards Vineyard Cottages—and would have loved to stay even longer. The entire property is beautifully maintained and exudes an incredibly relaxed, nature-oriented atmosphere. You can immediately tell how much love and thought went into creating this place. We were particularly impressed by the well-thought-out overall design: the combination of stylish, cozy cottages, the vineyards, and the open, spacious layout is simply unique. Everything feels harmonious and invites you to truly unwind. A real highlight for us were the sheep, chickens, and young deer—they make the stay even more special and give the property a charming, almost idyllic character. All in all, a wonderful place to relax, enjoy, and take a deep breath—we would come back anytime and can absolutely recommend St. Leonard’s Vineyard Cottages.
This was the highlight of our trip to Blenheim. Jason and Sharon were so helpful throughout the entire stay. The property is gorgeous, the room was amazing, and feeding the animals every morning was pure magic. Can't recommend enough!
Delicious breakfast supplied in our room
It was all fabulous
We had the most amazing stay at St Leonard’s. Everything was perfect. The accommodation was spacious, comfortable and immaculately clean. We had fresh eggs from their chickens, homemade bread and honey and other goodies in our room for breakfast. We also ordered their dine in food both evenings and can highly recommend it. The steaks were delicious. Sharon and Jason were excellent hosts, friendly and welcoming. Thank you!
Thoughtful touches, lovely spaces and beauty everywhere.
We had to leave!
Very well appointed cottage. Owners were great with all the amenities that were provided. Highly recommend.
Nothing
Unfortunately, we were only here for two nights! A lovely little cottage, the "Shearers Cottage", with B&B. A warm welcome, a fridge stocked to the brim, and plenty of information from the host about day trips and restaurants. You can pick ripe fruit all around the house!
Lovely venue.. a stable cottage door welcomed us. The accommodation was clean and beautifully maintained. Lovely bed, little kitchenette (supplied with bread eggs orange juice mild coffee tea). Bathroom shower clean and good. Hosts were welcoming and supplied a hot meal and wine despite our late arrival. Set amongst vines, some cute sheep (who loved being fed with supplied grass pellets) hens (for the supplied eggs) and deer. Lots of autumnal fruit.. walnuts and figs to pick. Hot tub (at 39deg) and pool provided a lovely relax. Recommend
A special place. A working farm with fruit trees, chickens etc nestled between vineyards. Each cottage is fully separate and private. Make your own breakfast with ingredients provided. Delightful people. Good location
We stayed in the Woolshed which was a magical experience in every way including popping out through the kitchen window every morning to enjoy breakfast in the rising sun. Sharon and Jason are the most generous of hosts not just with the accommodation offering, but with everything else including top tips on what to do locally and further afield. Breakfast ingredients are truly farm to table, eggs from their hens, honey from their bees, homemade granola (so moorish I could spoon from the jar!), yogurt and bread. We also picked fresh peaches to enjoy from the sheep paddock when we went to feed Buster the Sheep and his retired friends. Could not recommend a stop here highly enough and it is so central for exploring the famous vineyards.
Stunning accomodation in the vineyards Amazing attention to detail.Beautifully appointed room. What a treat Awesome hosts . Thank you for a great experience.Highly recommended to visit relax and recharge.Awesome breakfast sourced from the farm.
This place is out of this world . more like a country retreat. We loved seeing the animals close up and picking fruit to eat. Breakfast supplies were provided in the cottage, all home made/produced - bread in particular was so yummy. Pool and hottub were a bonus. Owners really friendly and super helpful. Not to mention nearby to wine area . We didn’t want to leave.
Thoughtful and generous accommodation in a beautiful vineyard cottage in Blenheim's wine country. Loved all the personal touches that elevated our stay into luxury. A bouquet of hydrangeas, home made bread and granola for breakfast along with eggs and honey fresh from the property. The invitation to wander and pick grapes, figs, walnuts and other fruits. A stunning setting with the villa porch overlooking the vines and onto the mountains. Would 100 percent come and stay here again.
This was a fabulous experience! Jason & Sharon are wonderful hosts. The cottage was perfect and situated in a lovely park. Beds were great. We will be back!
Visited family in Blenheim and had the most peaceful lovely experience at St Leonard’s (spotless and well thought out!
We stayed in the Winemakers Cottage and enjoyed it! Jason and Sharon are very friendly and helpful. Everything you need is in this very complete, cozy cottage, located in the middle of vineyards, including a generous and healthy breakfast. You are surrounded by fruit trees, sheep, chicken and deer and there's even food for the animals! One of the best B&Bs in the country!
This is one of the nicest places I’ve ever stayed. The warm welcome was accompanied by fresh bread and milk, peaches and walnuts from the garden, lots of very specific tips and advice. There’s a lovely little heated pool and hot tub. We loved feeding the deer, sheep and chickens. We were treated like favourite friends rather than paying guests.
Every detail has been thought of to make your stay comfortable.
If we return to New Zealand in the future, St Leonards will definitely be at the top of our list of places to revisit. Waking up in the morning to see deer and birds just outside the cottage window was truly special. There are lemon and other fruit trees around the property, so you can simply pick fresh fruit for breakfast. Speaking of breakfast – everything is homemade and absolutely delicious. The hosts are a wonderfully friendly and welcoming couple who made us feel right at home. And not to forget the surroundings: vineyards stretching across the landscape with the mountains rising on the horizon. A truly beautiful and peaceful place to stay.
Heerlijke faciliteiten.

Fabulous accommodation, we stayed in the winemakers cottage. Perfect. It was extremely well equipped with great attention to details. Sharon and Jason's focus is fostering a welcoming feel to the stay by including such delights as a fabulous hot tub as well as providing animal treats to feed the pet animals. We enjoyed both activities. ( There was a pool too ). We enjoyed the fruits from the gardens. A clean gas bbq was outside our property . We enjoyed a steak with a lovely bottle of wine overlooking a vineyard ... Our only regret was that we only had 1 night to enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
A great place to stay! Little paradise in the heart of the Marlborough wineregion. Absolutely recommended.
Brilliant place to stay for visiting the vineyards in Marlborough. Jason had a busy time, but still insisted on driving us to and from the annual Wine Festival in Blenheim, and refused any payment. Accomodation is superb, every detail carefully thought out; unique. We whole heartedly recommend a visit.
We stayed in the Woolshed and I can’t rate this unique accommodation highly enough! The breakfast provided was excellent. Having a glass of wine sitting on the porch, whilst overlooking vineyards was just the icing on the cake!
An absolute top location. Beautiful surroundings in the midst of the vineyards. Surrounded by lemon trees, orane trees, chickens, sheep and fairly tame deer. The hosts could not have made us feel more welcome and at home. Thank you Sharon and Jason. You made beautiful memories
An amazing location in the Marlborough wine region and a real home from home. Sharon and Jason were warm and friendly hosts who made us feel so welcome. Lovely accommodation , food was delicious, the animals a joy! Would thoroughly recommend
Stable Cottage at St Leonards Vineyards was amazing. A beautiful cottage over looking the mountains and vineyards as well as the sheep, deer and chickens pretty much in your back garden. The accommodation is spotless and very well appointed. Nothing was too much trouble for the hosts Sharon and Jason, and the attention to detail was impressive. Great to come back from days out to the hot tub and wonderful optional meals brought to you door…. Would highly recommend this place.
A real gem of a place - perfect base for exploring the Marlborough vineyards. We made good use of the pool and hot tub. Jason and Sharon couldn't be more helpful, food available on site absolutely delicious! We can't recommend the Vineyard Cottages highly enough!
Beautiful location surrounded by vineyards, and mountains in the background. Small farm with sheep chickens, fawns, fruit trees. Beautiful property. We stayed in the woodshed it was so beautiful like something from an HGTV episode yet it was so comfortable. Very nice two large bedrooms 1.5 bath with big living area and huge floor to ceiling windows. You could just sit and look at the views all day!
We had a fabulous stay in the gorgeous and incredibly comfortable Woolshed. We loved our hosts hospitality and local knowledge. The family loved feeding the animals and the pool and spa. We look forward to returning again!
A fabulous set of cottages set right in the heart of Marlborough wine country. A few minutes drive from centre of Blenheim. We stayed in the Shearers Cottage. The cottage was spotless and was so very well equipped. We were especially grateful for the breakfast items provided. Even fresh eggs, bread and milk. Highly recommended. Jason the host was very welcoming and helpful.
We absolutely LOVED staying at St. Leonard's! Sharon and Jason could not have been more friendly and accommodating. They offered suggestions for day trips, restaurants and tours. They even provided suggestions for stops and restaurants along our journey after we left. Our cottage was perfect! We had a lovely outdoor table overlooking the vineyards. It was stocked with fresh bread, yogurt, granola and peaches for a beautiful breakfast. There were also goats, deer and chickens on site that we visited and could feed. The grandkids loved the pictures! And best of all, since we had been traveling for over 3 weeks at this point, we were offered the option to have dinner and wine delivered to our cottage. What a nice treat to simply relax and enjoy at the end of the day! Highly recommend staying at St. Leonard's. You won't be disappointed.
Fantastic communication from Sharon - very welcoming. I was blown away as every detail was taken care of, from the breakfast provided with home made bread, jam/honey and eggs from the chickens. Beautiful bathroom products too. We stayed in the Shearer's Quarters for three nights, which was perfect. Nice and quiet. Lovely grounds to walk around in. Would stay again!
Fab location, such a nice touch with the inclusion of breakfast (with fresh eggs no less!) and so good to be able to order the food for dinner in also - it was delicious. Loved hanging out wit the animals too.
Nothing at all - we could have stayed for much longer!
Lovely cottage which is thoughtfully and perfectly equipped. Works well for couples and also for families. There is sheep, reindeers and chickens on the property. You get breakfast essentials including fresh eggs. We had a wonderful time.
Loved everything about this experience. Can’t wait to return!
Nothing!
Nice cottage and the premises are very well kept
Nothing
The location, the environment, the hospitality, the breakfast and the ability to order dinner to our room was beyond our expectation!
nothing
Fantastic property. Units are thoughtfully stocked, wonderfully decorated and super comfortable and impeccably clean. Wish we could have stayed longer. Great views of vineyards and friendly sheep and deer. They offer to arrange in-room evening meals, the meat and cheese board was perfect.

De locatie is waanzining! De hostes zijn super vriendelijk en hadden ons fijne recommendaties gegeven voor de rest van onze reis waar we zeker nog gebruik van hebben gemaakt
Niks
Beautiful location and stunning views. Amazing citrus trees on property and fresh eggs provided along with other incredible provisions for making a wonderful breakfast. Located in the heart of wine country and close to local restaurants. Our hosts were extremely gracious and helpful. It’s a perfect spot for a relaxing vacation in the Marlborough region.
I celebrated my birthday in the hotel! This was absolutely fantastic experience! The room itself is very comfortable, you have everything you need to enjoy the nature, farm and vineyards. Super special! Definitely recommend !!!
This property sits in the middle of the vineyards. All within easy reach by car or taxi. It was tranquil and relaxing. We enjoyed the fantastic views with sundowners each evening sitting outside the cottage. The smell of the lavender added to the mood. Afterwards we lit the stove inside. Jason came with more logs and kindling in case we ran out. At a reasonable extra cost we ordered a charcuterie platter one evening. It was generous in size and delicious. Fresh eggs from their own hens were provided in the cottage along with milk, bread, butter/jam/marmalade. On leaving we needed a large taxi for all our luggage for the airport which Jason organised for us the night before we left.
There is nothing to not like about this property
Wonderful renovation has made these cottages super comfortable. Great bathroom with recent fittings, good electric heating complemented by a pot belly fire for ambience. Kitchen is perfect for light meals. Hosts are responsive and informative with lots of local recommendations. Great views of the adjacent vineyards and super friendly animals😃. Do yourself a favour and avail of the evening meal packs. Perfect to heat and eat without leaving the home. Throw rugs, extra towels and lots of little touches make The Cottage a delight to stay in.
This property was excellent and very nice
The location is perfect for visiting the local wineries. Since the property is out of town a bit, it is quiet and very relaxing. Loved just taking a stroll around and feeding the sheep and deer. The hosts are wonderful and very helpful with tips on where to go.
Nothing. Our stay was perfect.
Beautiful accommodation where every little detail has been thought through. So stylish.
Private separate accommodation, but with so much character. The hosts welcome you like old friends, give you tips for wineries, restaurants and onward travel. Even down to snacks for the sheep if you’d like to feed them. The self serve breakfast was amazing - with fresh eggs from the hens the wander the property.
Exceptional. If you want to feel the both vineyard and village life as well as proximity to nearest town, this is the place. Very polite and helpful owner on top.
Nothing.
We had a few wonderful days here . Even the torrential rain and floods couldn’t dampen our spirits. The quaint whare was cosy and quiet. The food utterly delicious. Feeding the animals and tasting the citrus delightful. Our hosts Sharon and Jason were gracious and attentive to our needs and went the extra mile. A wonderful experience which tops up your spirit.
Sharon & Jason were very welcoming and kind. The cottage is very nice and cozy. The atmosphere is very good. We liked fresh eggs and orange juice for breakfast. It was a very nice experience!
Beautiful location, wonderful hosts. Stunning in room dining and loved feeding the animals
Nothing
Wonderful place to stay with a small group of friends or family. The cottage and the grounds had everything we could need, including a hot tub, tennis court and we could feed chickens, dear and sheep. The surroundings were very beautiful and peaceful. The owners were very hospitable and helpful. We ordered dinner from them and it was very tasty. They also printed out helpful tips on where to stop on our journey to Christchurch. We tried some of them and were very satisfied. Highly recommended place!
Winemakers cottage overlooks a vineyard and is quite private. The cottage is beautifully designed and fitted out. The bed was very comfortable and there is plenty of room for storage/suitcases etc. We used the fireplace which made it very homely and cosy. We were provided with breakfast provisions including fresh eggs, bread, jams, and it was nice to not have to rush out in the mornings and just enjoy the sunshine over the vines and the peace and quiet. The grounds are very attractive with fruit trees and some animals to feed.
🔥 charming cheminée 🍋 🐑 lovely garden and animals 👑 top hosts (10/10) 🍇 great food&drinks selection 🥩 everything you need to chill and enjoy parking next to the cottage - barbecue grill - small but .all you need. kitchen - enough space to hang out - covered outdoor area
It is a beautiful place with excellent service. Jason and Sharon put a lot of effort to meet our needs. Organised a bicycle vineyard tour for us, moved rooms to accommodate our needs plus gave tips on where we should stop on our way back to Christchurch. The atmosphere and the location is ideal for anyone. We wish we could stay longer and I would return if I ever come back to new zealand
Beautiful location with excellent facilities and hosts Well heated - pool and spa pool a bonus Cycle hire definite must do visiting the local vineyards With delicious platter ready when we hot bavk Will be coming back next year Even messaged us just after we left to tell us that we had a left a scarf behind and offer to post or for us to collect
Aside from the accommodation itself, the suggested dine-in meals that can be ordered an delivered to the room were surprisingly good. It was not salty yet very flavourful. The hosts were thoughtful in every aspect - from the respect to nature (reflected in choice of products used, for example, to picking up some home grown walnuts for us to taste after we mentioned that we wanted to look at the walnut tree.
The views were spectacular, the hospitality so wonderful. Jason and Sharon were so very helpful and welcoming. The Woolshed was fantastic with the amenities perfect. And feeding sheep and deer and walking the grounds was an extra special treat. Thank you! Would love to stay longer next time.
We stayed in the Shearers’ Quarters over the Easter long weekend and had the most amazing time. Jason and Sharon are the perfect hosts - with so much knowledge about the local area as well as tips for your onward journey, which was much appreciated! The cottage itself was immaculate, incredibly comfortable and cosy and the perfect base to explore the local area and wineries - and the breakfast provisions (including fresh eggs from their chickens) were a lovely touch. You will not regret staying here - a truly magical place!

Our cottage was in a beautiful setting, well equipped and so comfortable. Sharon and Jason were wonderful hosts, making us feel so welcome. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Our only regret was that we were only there for 2 nights! We would love to return one day
We loved everything about the property. Particularly the small details that were so well considered. Also lovely welcoming hosts.
Nothing at all.
The St Leonards Vineyard Cottages are truly a unique and unforgettable experience. We stayed in The Stables, an adorable cottage nestled on a working farm, in the middle of a vineyard. Sharon and Jason are incredible hosts who made our experience spectacular. From their wonderful (and spot on) recommendations to their incredible breakfast catering (including fresh eggs from their hens) to their ongoing care and check-ins, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We even got to pick fruits and vegetables from their garden, feed their hens, and make friends with their sheep. It was the perfect place to return to each evening and felt like our own little slice of heaven. This is definitely a place we will return to one day. ❤️

We had a really pleasant and relaxing stay at St Leonard’s Vineyard Cottages. The cottages are perfectly well appointed, extremely comfortable and well equipped. The location in the midst of Marlborough’s finest wineries, surrounded by vines and a delightful menagerie of chucks (breakfast eggs), deer and exotic (?) sheep, with a pool and hot-tub is great. It is convenient for Blenheim and only a short cab ride to the cellar doors. A simple but delicious and fresh breakfast is provided in the chalet and a very tasty do-it-yourself evening meal menu is offered on request. The little extras like good WiFi, Netflix and a library of books on New Zealand make all the difference. I cannot thank Jason enough for his local and wider South Island guidance and his friendly repartee; particularly as I had messed my booking dates up - thank you
This is a great place to relax and rest with plenty of shady trees. The cottage was clean and comfortable. What made it extra special were the sounds of the breeze, the friendly farm animals nearby, and the occasional birds checking in on me. And a big "thank you" to Jason and Sharon for helping me with my itinerary and phone connection issues. I had a memorable time at St Leonards.
