C'est dommage que le lavabo n'as pas de mitigeur, mais on a compris qu'en Irlande, comme en Grande Bretagne d'ailleurs, il y a cette tradition bizarre d'avoir deux robinets distincts : eau chaude et eau froide.

1. Überhitzter Zimmer (über 27 Grad) als wor darauf den Gastgeberin aufmerksam gemacht haben hat Sie geantworzet dass bei fem Wetter sollte man drausen sein...totall daneben finde ich 2.Frühstück erst ab 8.30 und dazu sehr bescheiden, kein frischer Brot, nichts warmes. Der Gadtgeber kamm immer erst 8.20 in der Küche um Kaffe zu kochen. Als der Saft aller war, würde der Krug nicht nachgefüllt.

A vintage home in great condition run by a couple who have lived for generations in Ireland It’s a quiet location so one would have to drive a bit for activities. I appreciated the hospitality and had a pleasant one night stay.

Reviewed Jul 4, 2026A hidden gem! Incredibly charming place, very cozy and pristinely clean. Short and easy walk to town where there are shops and restaurants. Hosts are just so lovely, kind, and helpful, you can tell they put their heart into this place. Neil knows so much about the area and is like a built in travel agent, he wrote us an itinerary! We really wish we could stay longer.

Die Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und haben uns noch wertvolle Tipps für unsere Rückreise nach Dublin gegeben. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und die Atmosphäre angenehm persönlich. Die Lage ist ruhig und trotzdem ist das Zentrum von Athlone gut zu Fuß erreichbar. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Reviewed May 30, 2026Great walkable location, very nice place and friendly hosts. Breakfast is serve yourself buffet. Internet was bursty but usable. Plenty of free parking. Easy to get in and out of town. Host should moonlight as a tour guide - he knows all the local spots, plus wherever you're headed.
The parlor was closed during our stay, which was kind of a bummer as we wanted more space to relax after a long drive. Everything else was pleasant and comfortable!

Reviewed May 26, 2026Die Lage war perfekt , man war direkt in der Stadt hatte aber eine ruhigere Straße und konnte dadurch den Lärm der Statt entfliehen. Die Zimmer waren liebevoll eingerichtet und die Gastfamilie war wirklich extrem freundlich und morgens beim Frühstück auch sehr humorvoll !
Das Bett war wirklich sehr klein für 2 Personen und die Spüle von der Toilette hat sich beim Spülen angehört wie ein Riesen Dampfer, das rumoren ging auch einmal durchs ganze Haus 😅😅 das war wirklich sehr laut. Zudem war es wirklich sehr warm im Zimmer, aber wir haben zumindest einen Ventilator gehabt :)

Reviewed May 21, 2026We stayed at Riverdale for the weekend of the Croílár festival in April - short walk into town so no need for taxis. The property was immaculate. Bed was very comfortable and the room was incredibly cosy. The breakfast was fantastic with lots of variety. The highlight of the weekend was the hospitality shown by Neil and Avril. We struggled to leave the breakfast room in the morning as we were having such a great chat and could easily have stayed the whole day catching up. Will definitely be back!

Reviewed Apr 29, 2026Beautifully restored home in a great location 10 minute walk from the centre. Neil and Avril were the nicest, most accommodating hosts ever. We booked the wrong date by mistake and they were actually closed for that one day but Avril insisted we stay and we were treated to a wonderful experience. If Athlone is on your itinerary then Riverdale House is a must! Can't say enough about it!
