Ambleside Lodge Bed & Breakfast

This was my first visit to Canada and what an amazing first few days. All the information arrived through a couple of days prior to our arrival of checking in, parking and requesting your preferred time for breakfast. We arrived and met Annie and Brian, they are so welcoming and gave us some great Ideas of local hikes and places in Canmore to eat. Brian’s breakfasts were delicious, wholesome and really set us up for our days adventures. No two days food were the same. The bedroom (Wilderness room) was very comfortable & clean. They had kit for hikes to borrow, poles and crampons. I would so recommend staying at Ambleside B & B and just a 10 minute walk into town.

Ein sehr individuell gestyltes Haus mit viel Atmosphäre. Das Frühstück wurde frisch zubereitet und wechselte täglich. Der Kaffee wird in einer original italienischen Siebträgermaschine zubereitet. Die Zimmer sind vergleichsweise klein, aber sehr gemütlich eingerichtet. Wir kamen mit den Gastgebern und anderen Gästen schnell ins Gespräch.

Great hosts! Annie and Brian went out of their way to be helpful with recommendations about the local sites and activities (including Banff and Lake Louise). (It's a short walk from Canmore and adjacent to a lovely hike without feeling touristy. Brian's breakfasts kept us full all day and changed every day. As Manhattanites, we loved being able to stretch out in the spacious public rooms. Annie even did our laundry after our adventure travel at no cost. They couldn't be nicer and we hope to see them again.

Fantastic breakfast, wonderful hosts

The staff were so kind and helpful. Breakfast was at times when we were out for tours but they would provide us with a box breakfast. The place is lovely tastefully decorated. Easy walk to downtown across the bridge. Quiet and comfortable. Parking included.

Stairs were of no concern to use as it might be for others. We had a private bathroom but it was down the hall. The other bedrooms had a private bathroom in their rooms. Again this might be a consideration for some.

Juste le fait que la salle de bain ne soit pas dans la chambre même si elle était privée et uniquement pour nous .

The hosts were extremely welcoming, the property was easy to find with parking available. The room was very comfortable and the communal space was lovely. Breakfast was fantastic and the hosts made everything easily accessible and available during our stay.

Beautiful property, clean room and the most amazing breakfasts! The owners are friendly and have taken great care to provide lots of amenities for a comfortable, fun B & B stay! Great location to Canmore village and easy access to the highway for traveling to the parks.

Diese Unterkunft ist wirklich außergewöhnlich. Alles ist gemütlich und sehr hochwertig eingerichtet. Wir haben uns in den beiden Nächten außerordentlich wohl gefühlt. Viele liebevolle kleine Details machen das Haus zu einem ganz besonderen Ort. Das Frühstück war ausgesprochen lecker. Wir waren selten in einem so fantastischen Bed and Breakfast. Nicht zu vergessen, die freundlichen Gastgeber!

Die Unterkunft ist nicht ganz günstig, aber wir würden sagen, sie ist auf jeden Fall ihren Preis wert.

Das war die beste Unterkunft, die wir in den 4 Wochen Rundreise hatten. Gemütliches „Wohnzimmer“ für alle Gäste, toll ausgestattetes Schlafzimmer (Mountain Room), mit eigenem Bad schräg gegenüber, war völlig in Ordnung. Max. drei Zimmer, die Anzahl der Gäste bleibt also überschaubar. Es ergab sich, dass man gemeinsam gefrühstückt hat (frisch zubereitet von Annie und Brian) und dabei haben wir sehr nette Menschen kennen gelernt (liebe Grüße an unsere Nachbarn aus den Niederlanden! Und Danke für die Waffeln). Wir würden jederzeit wieder hier wohnen wollen und können die Ambleside Lodge 100%ig empfehlen!

The Ambleside Inn is in a first class location. I would recommend anyone visiting the Banff area to stay at Canmore and the Ambleside inn made a perfect base to explore the area from. The place is fantastic ran by the most helpful and friendly couple. Breakfasts are special much better than anything you’d get in a hotel

Our stay at Ambleside Lodge was the best of our entire week in Alberta. We truly felt at home there, and we even changed our last night in Banff to come back again. Canmore is much less touristy and more relaxing than Banff, and we would definitely stay here again if we return. The breakfast was delicious, everything was spotless, and the hosts made us feel incredibly welcome.

The hosts are warm, engaging and make an incredible breakfast. Rooms are cozy and well equipped and the living area is a nice place to relax at the end of the day with a cup of tea. Location was perfect. Easy walk to the center.

Great Host, Great Location, Super clean and inviting would recommend for someone that doesn't mind the B&B type of stay.

The Stay was great, The only comment I would say is I wish there was more than one choice for Breakfast. I didn't expect a menu but more than one option would have been beneficial. The host was accommodating for the breakfast modification I made which was great.

Annie and Brian were great hosts welcoming us into their home like family members. Breakfasts were incredible, and different daily. Location was really good for the local town of Canmore and also further afield. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend staying anyone staying there.

The hosts are amazing and so friendly. The house is beautiful and each room has its own theme and are all very well decorated and comfortable. The location is great and an easy walk to downtown. The breakfast was also spectacular!

Our room’s bathroom was not private because it had low walls open to the sleeping area. It’s nice to have privacy even with a partner.

Everything was great, the house, hosts, breakfast :) I slept soo well and hikes are very close by. Highly recommend!!

Familiär, gemütlich, tolle Zimmer und tolle Gastgeber - eine wirklich tolle Unterkunft, die wir zu 100% weiterempfehlen können.

Tolle Gastgeber, die immer einen guten Tipp geben könnten und jeden Morgen ein anderes frisch zubereitetes Frühstück machten. Das beste Frühstück, was wir bei mehreren Kanadareisen bekommen haben. Die Unterkunft selbst war gemütlich und wohnlich. Hinweis, Banff ist zwar etwa 35 Minuten entfernt, dafür ist Canmore nicht so überfüllt und deutlich günstiger.

The hosts were exceptional, very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was exceptional, both when we ate at there and when they packed us a breakfast box to go. Highly recommend!

The B&B is located in the lovely town of Canmore. Surrounded by wildlife and some beautiful hikes just close by. We were lucky enough to go on a drive on our first day and spotted some grizzly bears! What an experience. The hospitality at the Lodge is second to none, with tea, coffee and biscuits available throughout the day. Not to mention the beautiful breakfast which included fresh berries from the garden. What a welcome to Alberta!

Location was easy walk into town. Peaceful area. Easy to access walks. Very comfortable accommodation. Owners were knowledgeable and helpful. Was also nice to meet other travellers. Breakfast was A1. Could have gone all day on it!

The trip up the stairs with the suitcase was worth the effort, worth every penny and more. One of the best B&Bs I've been in for 45 years. I highly recommend it. STAY HERE!

Slanted ceiling made it difficult to read in bed, BUT I just went to the lovely living room.

Fue el broche final perfecto para nuestro viaje. Nos quedamos con ganas de estar más días sin duda! Habitación cómoda, limpia, con baño y todo lo necesario para sentirte como en casa… el salón invitaba a quedarte un buen rato en el sofá haciendo puzzles y los desayunos fueron de lo mejor de nuestras vacaciones por las Montañas Rocosas. En definitiva, es un sitio para repetir una y mil veces!

The lodge was super warm and welcoming. Annie and Brian, the workers, made it feel like this was our own house. We were so comfortable there. They were willing to help us plan our day or answer any questions we had. The breakfast was incredible! The location was perfect and you could walk to downtown easily.

This bed and breakfast was amazing! Annie is a superstar host. The property is warm and charming and a fantastic location to downtown Canmore and other hikes. She and her husband made us breakfast every single morning and it was 10/10. We would definitely stay here again.

The ambience of the place was cozy and relaxing and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was perfect to fuel us for a day of snowboarding and we got to meet one of the hosts who was lovely. We plan to stay there again in the future.
