Prachtige locatie, supervriendelijke en meedenkende eigenaren die alle tijd voor je nemen, zeer schoon.

Alhoewel bekend qua afmetingen, was de kamer en de badkamer erg compact. Maar we mochten gebruik maken van de woonkamer met prachtig uitzicht.

Für uns die perfekte Unterkunft! Leider gibt es keine 12, die wir hier vergeben können. Jens und Barry sind wahnsinnig tolle und herzliche Gastgeber, bei denen man sich rundum umsorgt fühlt. Die Unterkunft ist sehr liebevoll und gemütlich ausgestattet und bietet einen wunderschönen Ausblick auf die Bucht. Das Frühstück ist ausgezeichnet! Wir bekamen jeden Tag tolle Tipps für Ausflüge, die sich wirklich lohnten.

The hosts were so welcoming and accomodating. They did everything to make our stay memorable. The location was so very beautiful and the accommodation was extremely comfortable.

House was built to be a B&B. Rooms ensuite, clean, and well furnished. Beautiful view of the sea. Nice helpful onsite hosts. On the Ring of Kerry—only 6 miles from Kenmare. Kenmare was easier to drive than most towns—had some one-way streets & real parking lots.

We stayed two nights at Valhalla while touring the Ring of Kerry on our bikes, and it was the highlight of the trip. Barry and Jens are first-class hosts. Warm, welcoming and genuinely accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. They also knew the local roads properly and gave us real, useful pointers on which routes to take, which is not something you get from a guidebook. It shaped both our riding days and we saw roads we'd otherwise have missed. The house itself is spotlessly clean and superbly maintained. Everything has clearly been looked after with care. Breakfast deserves its own mention. The quality and the presentation were closer to a top restaurant than a typical B&B, and it set us up well for a full day in the saddle. If you're touring Kerry, on two wheels or four, this is where you want to be based. We'll definitely be back.

Stunning BnB! Wonderful position with view over the sea and Beara peninsular. Beautiful garden with areas to sit and enjoy the view. Very comfy bed and high quality coffee and tea, plus sparkling water from their well! Immaculately clean everywhere, with interesting art and lovely furnishings. Great base to explore the Ring of Kerry and Kenmare.

Wunderbare Lage dieses tollen Hauses mit großem Garten, fantastischer Ausblick auf die Kenmare Bay, ganz nah am Ring of Kerry und gleichzeitig so ruhig und friedvoll. Sehr geschmackvolle, gemütliche und hochwertige Ausstattung; Jens und Barry sind herausragende Gastgeber, herzlich, authentisch, sehr aufmerksam und rücksichtsvoll. Wir haben uns vom ersten Augenblick an sehr wohlgefühlt. Das Frühstück war excellent, wir bekamen tolle Tipps - mit Besonderheiten für jedes Wetter. Diesmal waren es drei Nächte, wir hoffen ein nächstes Mal wird es länger.

Prachtige locatie met mooie vergezichten maar toch dichtbij Kenmare, uitzonderlijk nette accommodatie, tot in de puntjes verzorgd. De eigenaren doen het woord gastvrijheid alle eer aan: ze waren supervriendelijk en behulpzaam zonder opdringerig te zijn, we kregen elke dag advies omtrent wat te bezoeken met een bijhorende wegenkaart, leuke lunchadresjes, etc... . Het ontbijt was ruim, vers en gevarieerd en tot in de kleinste puntjes verzorgd, met elke dag ook vers gebak. Eigenlijk wordt alles je uit handen genomen om je verblijf zo aangenaam mogelijk te maken. Kortom: een pareltje om te ontdekken en om volop te genieten.

Ons vertrek, het verblijf had gerust wat langer mogen duren 😀.

We loved how careful and carrying Barry and Jens are. They pay attention to every detail you can imagine. The comfortable mattress, the perfect breakfast (they even give you a list to choose the items the day before every morning). They’re both warm and so cute. It’s very special what they give you as an experience. The location is SPECTACULAR. With a view to the sea… Thank you for everything! 10/10

The property was amazing. The facilities were perfect - everything we could need. The house and grounds were very beautiful. The owners were absolutely wonderful - very warm, welcoming and helpful. They provided us with many suggestions for our sightseeing and our travels, which we wouldn't have otherwise done. We enjoyed our conversations with them, and they always made time for us. And the food they prepared was delicious, fresh and filling! They made our time there very memorable.

We didn't realise that it was a shoe free house and TV free zone. An easy chair would have been good in our room.

The location was perfect for touring the Ring of Kerry and local small towns. The views from sitting room were spectacular! Breakfast was delicious and was a great way to start the day!

Das Valhalla und die Gastgeber Jens und Barry sind wirklich etwas ganz Besonderes! Die Lage und der Ausblick über den Garten auf das Meer und die gegenüberliegende Beara-Halbinsel sind traumhaft schön. Hier wohnt man absolut ruhig und idyllisch. Vor allem aber machen Jens und Barry den Aufenthalt zu einem Erlebnis, als wäre man für ein paar Tage zu Gast im Haus von Freunden. Ihr Wohlfühl-Konzept ist, nur zwei Doppelzimmer zu vermieten und sich sehr persönlich um ihre wenigen Gäste zu kümmern. Das fängt an beim persönlichen Empfang und der kleinen Führung durch ihr Haus (Sie bewohnen in der Saison nur einen Teil des Hauses selbst, der andere Teil steht den Gästen zur Verfügung), geht über das frisch zubereitete, wunderschön angerichtete und unheimlich leckere Frühstück, das man sich am Vorabend nach Wunsch zusammenstellen kann und das die beiden persönlich "Gang für Gang" an den Tisch servieren (mit Klaviermusik im Hintergrund, als wäre man in einem Luxushotel) und führt bis zu den nach individuellen Interessen zusammengestellten Tipps für die Tagesplanung und Ausflüge in alle Himmelsrichtungen. Im Valhalla erlebt man einfach ein ganz besonderes "Rundum-sorglos-Paket" mit sehr viel Ruhe, Charme und Entschleunigung. Dazu gehört auch, dass die beiden den Gästen jedes Doppelzimmers einen Frühstücksraum für sich alleine zur Verfügung stellen (abwechselnd im Wintergarten mit Ausblick oder am großen Tisch im "Kunstzimmer"), und sich nach dem Frühstück Zeit für individuelle Tagestipps und einen Plausch nehmen. Ihr privates Wohnzimmer mit den großen Glasfronten und gemütlichen Sesseln überlassen sie in der Saison ganz den Gästen (Ausblick deluxe!). Und in den Zimmern ist bis ins kleinste Detail an alles gedacht (z.B. Ohrstöpsel, Hausschuhe und eine Steckerleiste für englische Steckdosen, um mehrere deutsche Geräte gleichzeitig laden zu können.

Dass wir zwar eine Nacht verlängert haben - aber dann doch nach Dingle weiter reisen mussten und wegen unserer begrenzten Urlaubszeit nicht noch länger bleiben konnten :-)

Super Frühstück und Lage, einmalig herzliche Gastgeber.

This BnB is absolutely stunning. The view of the water is beautiful, and having breakfast in the sunroom is a fabulous experience. The house itself is very clean and beautifully decorated as well.

The breakfast experience was exceptional. The setting, the presentation, the service, the food and all the special touches were impeccable. Our hosts went out of their way to make us feel a special part of their family. They were engaging and extremely helpful with travel advice and restaurant recommendations. Breakfast included a freshly baked “cake of the day” which they packaged for us to take on the road as a snack on our daily excursions. Be sure to book this gem early as they intentionally limit the number of guests so they can provide the kind of attention and service we described here. There’s no need to break the bank to stay in a castle when you can stay at Valhalla B&B.

No negatives whatsoever other than the fact we didn’t have a longer time to stay here.

Der Ausblick ist unglaublich schön und sorgt direkt für maximale Erholung. Dazu gibt es täglich persönliche Empfehlungen zu Ausflügen in der Umgebung. Wir haben Valhalla und Kenmare ins Herz geschlossen und planen fürs nächste Mal gerne noch ein paar Tage mehr ein!

Everything! Barry and Jens were probably the best hosts my wife and I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. They went above and beyond in welcoming us into their wonderful home and to help us plan the perfect day around the ring of Kerry. Breakfast was 11 out of 10 and we just couldn't have asked for a better place to stay for a couple of nights on our Ireland adventure. I can't recommend this B&B enough!!

Our stay at Valhalla BnB was easily one of the main highlights of the trip. The location was absolutely beautiful, and Barry and Jens were INCREDIBLE hosts. They gave us wonderful recommendations for the Ring of Kerry, restaurants in town, and even other cities for us to visit along our route even after we left Kenmare. The town is gorgeous and the food was amazing, both in town and at the BnB. We absolutely hope to make it back to visit and stay again!!

Our hosts were gracious and so very attentive. They curate a marvelous experience, from the amazing art work on the walls to the mineral water and beverage station in the room - great attention to the smallest details. We loved the customized breakfasts each morning, offered in a lovely space with beautiful views. A special gluten free breakfast cake was baked just for us to enjoy. We got lots of wonderful suggestions for touring the area that helped us make the most of our visit to Kenmare.

Das Valhalla BnB ist absolut herausragend. Ein wunderschönes Haus, in toller Lage. Die Zimmer sind so geschmackvoll eingerichtet und supersauber. Das absolute Highlight sind die beiden Gastgeber Jens und Barry. Sie sind so herzlich und zuvorkommend, dass man sich sofort wie zu Hause fühlt. Man bekommt tolle Ausflugstips und das Frühstück ist perfekt. Diese Unterkunft bereichert einen Irlandurlaub und ist absolut zu empfehlen.

Jens et Barry sont des hôtes exceptionnels, très attentionnés. Leur logement est très bien situé avec une magnifique vue sur la mer et la montagne, tout est décoré avec goût. Les petits déjeuners sont délicieux avec de très bons produits. Jens et Barry ont été à l' écoute de nos besoins pour nous guider dans le choix de nos visites, cela correspondait exactement à nos attentes. Hallo und guten Tag, Meine Freunde und ich haben vom 06.08.2025-08.08.2025 im Valhalla BnB 2 Übernachtungen im DZ mit Frühstück genossen!!-;)) Wir hatten eine Rundreise mit den Autos unternommen, und sollte mit der Halbinsel Ring of Kerry abgerundet werden. Die beiden Besitzer vom Valhalla B&B empfingen uns alle sehr herzlich, zeigten uns die Zimmer sowie persönliche Infos zur Umgebung. Das Frühstück war reichhaltig ,lecker auch etwas fürs Auge..👍Wir erhielten eine Landkarte der Halbinsel Ring of Kerry,dieses war gut zur Orientierung. Durch eine Reise vor 11 Jahren kannte wir einige Orte noch, sowie neues entdeckt.. Auf dem Rückweg hatten wir die Stadt Kenmare besucht, ein beschaulicher Ort mit seinen dekorativen Straßenzeilen und den herzlichen Menschen.! Die Abreise nach dem schönen Frühstück.. ein Blick auf die Kenmare Bay.. und weiter 🚗 Richtung Süden ..zum Strand...der Steine ..⛱️ Herzlichen Dank, der Reiseleiter..😉

Unser Aufenthalt im Valhalla BnB war großartig! Barry und Jens sind fantastische Gastgeber bei denen man sich sehr wohlfühlt! Ausgezeichnetes Frühstück, Unterkunft mit fantastischem Ausblick und wertvolle Tipps für Sehenswürdigkeiten von den Hosts, was will man mehr! :) Sehr zu empfehlen! 😊

Sehr persönliche, herzliche Betreuung durch Jens und Barry. Viele gute Tips und aufrichtige Gastfreundschaft. Tolle Lage mit herrlichem Blick auf's Meer. Komfortable Zimmer mit Wohlfühlambiente. Das ganze Haus ist stilvoll und edel eingerichtet. Das frisch gekochte Frühstück lässt keine Wünsche offen. Es macht wirklich Sinn hier länger zu wohnen. Von 10 zu vergebenden Punkten würde ich mindestens 20 vergeben!

Wo soll ich anfangen? Dafür, das dieses Haus noch gar nicht so alt ist, macht es von Innen den Eindruck eines kleinen Herrenhauses. Die Einrichtung elegant, zugleich nicht überladen. Ich glaube so etwas nennt man dezente Eleganz. Die Zimmer, die an Gäste vermietet werden, nehmen das Thema auf. Wer als Familie von vier dort zu Gast ist, fühlt sich als Gast, nicht als Kunde. Außerdem hat man sowohl Haus, als auch die Gastgeber Barry & Jens für sich allein. Und diese beiden machen aus dem Gastgeberdasein ein Kunstwerk. Gastgewerbe als Kunst. Das war eine neue Erfahrung für mich und meine Familie. Was besonders heraussticht, ist das Regelwerk, eine Art Hausordnung, die beiden etabliert haben. Einen Rahmen für den gelungenen Aufenthalt. Das ist m. E. die Voraussetzung für diese Gastfreundschaft. Während Jens die Gästebetreuung verinnerlicht hat, hat sich Barry als Remote Reiseführer profiliert, der mit Hilfe weniger Pinselstriche die “must sees” skizziert und beschrieben, denen zu folgen sich als absoluter Treffer herausgestellt hat. Einschließlich Essensempfehlungen irgendwelcher Fischbuden, die ebenfalls zu befolgen sich als sehr richtig erwiesen hat - Stichwort Helens Bar. W’ll come back!

Without a doubt, by far the best B&B we have staid in Ireland !! . The hospitality from the very supportive and very welcoming hosts Barry & Jens was top notch and unbelievably amazing. The breakfast was to die for and the location with the sea view was simply breathtaking and incredible. I highly recommend this wonderful place !!

Barry and Jens were extraordinary hosts in every way — their hospitality and the care in greeting us and showing us the property , the care and attention to every detail in the gorgeous house — curated with art to the level of a museum, and the superb breakfasts with home baked good courtesy of Jens — it was all beyond all expectations— and have travelled on 5 continents. Barry assisted us with helpful maps and recommendations in the area, and Jens artistic eye for details in the house decor and the skill of this cooking won’t be forgotten. They are two of the most attentive and friendly hosts we have encountered in 15 years of travel. M

As our stay was during the Olympic games we missed not having a TV for evening viewing. However, everything else was excellent.

The location was perfect. The accommodation was amazing. It was like stepping inside a 5* hotel. Our hosts greeted us with genuine warmth. Breakfast was of a high standard and presented with great care. If you are looking for a B&B that excels ,then look no further. You will not be disappointed. Highly recommend.

It was perfect, really, the definition of perfection.

My partner and I had the pleasure of staying at Valhalla a few weeks back and I have to say this was one of the best stops along our road trip. Barry and Jens were the most gracious and attentive hosts. Jens welcomed us and showed us around and left us to enjoy our evening. Barry has immense knowledge of the area and show us all the stops to take on the ring of Kerry. Breakfast was amazing. The home is lovely, and the location can’t be beat. You are 10 mins from Kenmare and is on the ring of Kerry if that is a stop for you.

Everything was amazing: the location, the view, the room, the breakfast and beyond all, the lovely hosts!

The room was very comfortable. Breakfast was prepared to please and was personalized to each guest. Jens and Barry were very helpful at all levels (advice as to what road to take, where to visit) and they offered the best gluten-free cake we've ever eaten.

The view from our room was spectacular. The breakfast was plentiful, healthy, delicious and varied. They accommodated our special needs. The owners helped carry our our luggage upstairs, were available when needed yet not intrusive, and recommended an itinerary for traveling the Ring of Kerry that worked out perfectly.

The only quibble was with the in-room teapot and accessories, which was on a very low table.

Our hosts were very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was delicious.

We were disappointed that our room didn’t have a view (this was not clear when we booked) and that on two out of three days we didn’t have the view at breakfast.

We loved the localisation, the stunning view from our room upon the Ring of Kerry but most importantly, Barry and Jens made us feel at home there and gave us great recommendations. Amazing view and wonderful recommendations by the hosts. Barry and Jens are friendly and knowledgeable and the place is stylish and sophisticated without being precious. Delicious breakfast as well, in either of their 2 nice spaces. But the sunroom is perfection! They adapted to my allergen needs very well. Do love it is a retreat for adults only. Would stay again!

Would have preferred a TV in room. A minor thing…I don’t quite enjoy taking shoes off at entrance and wearing borrowed slippers. I do respect the preference as we have friends who do it but it’s the first time I see it at a BnB. Not a dealbreaker by any means but as an FYI.

We were returning to Valhalla BnB after our 2022's stay. Again for 3 nights. An awesome stay again. Such a beautiful place. It felt like coming home. Barry and Jens are courteous hosts. The room was in a superb condition as well as the whole BnB. We liked the chats at breakfast even though they were busy to make it an experience for us. Again "The cake of the day" was outstanding. Wonderful place with wonderful owners! We stayed for two nights, and everything was great. The house is perfectly clean, the views are amazing and, what melt my heart, owners are very attentive to make a good atmosphere. From breakfast serving to every detail in home decoration. Valhalla BnB is located about 10 away from then center of downtown Kenmare which is prefect for a quiet day, evening and night, yet close enough to enjoy the pub scene. The grounds are very well manicured and we’ll taken care of. Room had everything we needed for a pleasant and relaxing stay. The views of the bay from the property are stunning! The best part of the property was our hosts. Welcoming, kind, knowledgeable, friendly, attentive… I can go on. Do yourself a favor and stay here. You will not regret it.

Very attentive hosts, delicious individually arranged breakfast, very nice views and easy access to the ring of kerry. Hosts also provided maps and information about places of interest along the coast Wished we could have stayed longer

Our stay with Barry and Jen was simply incredible! The location is amazing (we have a sea-view bedroom) and our hosts went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. The breakfast was delicious, Barry gave us great recommendations to visit the Ring of Kerry - our only regret was that we had to leave after 2 nights!

Our hosts provided a superior ambience in terms of furnishings, colors, textures, and views. They were warm and inviting, knowledgeable about local attractions, restaurants, and roads. The hosts engaged in sophisticated conversation and shared in easy bantering. Our breakfasts were based on our selecting from menus items that were fresh, homemade, and presented with aplomb. Our stay was so compelling that we could have stayed a month longer.

Hosts Barry & Jens are very welcoming and made us feel home. The are very attentive and take their time for a nice chat. We never feeled in a hurry. The B&B is very comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed the available options for a continental style breakfast as we prefer it over a cooked breakfast. We can highly recommend that B&B.

Barry and Jens have a gift for hospitality and their beautiful home is a jewel. They anticipated our every comfort and provided sumptuous breakfasts and rich travel counsel that greatly enhanced our trip to Kerry.

Their colorful gardens stretched out high above the Atlantic and the house is beautifully appointed. Bedroom was spacious and comfortable. Highly recommend.

Barry and Jens are fantastic hosts. Incredibly friendly and always willing to provide suggestions for sightseeing or dining that were always on point. the breakfast was delicious and it is easy to have eyes too big for your belly. the eggs were made perfectly to order ;)

A truly spectacular location with views to die for. Barry and Jens are the most wonderful hosts, with an attention to detail second to none and a genuine wish to do everything possible for the comfort of their guests. Without doubt the best B&B we have ever stayed in.

I have never seen such attention to detail in the provision of a B&B service. They could not go to any greater lengths to ensure you have everything you need, Staying there was a treat. Exceptional breakfast served by hands encased in white linen gloves. The place was absolutely spotless.
