Aran Walkers Lodge

The lodging was clean and there are many ammenities in the common room (comfortable seating, weights, exercise mat, games, books. It was attractively decorated. The room views were amazing. The assistant, Eliana (hope I'm spelling her name correctly) who worked with the owner was simply lovely and made a delicious breakfast. She worked hard and seemed so friendly and genuine. The area is beautiful and we received a coupon to get into the Fort at no charge (which was easily in walking distance to lodging). The owner offered to take us into town for food in the evening. We elected to order in food from a local cafe (note that they close at 4 so you have to get it to go and reheat at the Lodge---but they have a microwave at Lodge). I also noted that Eliana made supper for one young couple staying there and it smelled delicious. I'm not sure the cost of that, but it might be an option. Again, Eliana was a gem and the Lodge is lucky to have her.

We booked 2 rooms and one was to be a family room with private bath. However, I had to share the bath. That wasn't a problem and I didn't complain but not what I believed to be the case when I booked. I also encourage any lodgers to be crystal clear about pickup time and location (at dock) with the owner upon arrival. I highly recommend speaking with the owner directly rather than relying on email to confirm pickup plans and to avoid miscommunication....and being forced to find your own way to the lodging. We were successful in finding a taxi driver after walking a bit with our luggage. I also recommend that you book a hop on/hop off tour before going to the Lodge. Though this Lodge isn't that far from town, it is an inconvenience to book at taxi to return to town if you want to sightsee. This isn't the fault of the Lodge...I just didn't understand how transportation worked on the island or distances involved.

Eliana is a strong asset to the Lodge. She is not the owner but an assistant but very easy to talk with and work with. We booked 2 rooms and I've already written a review. Nice and spacious rooms and good view.

Loved visiting the Island. The sitting room and breakfast room at the inn are nice.

There was mold in the showers. The hosts were a bit tepid in their welcome and helpfulness.

Offer of pick up and drop off at the port. Staff was really kind and supportive. Breakfast was lovely.

Absolutely love the Aran Islands, and the scenery. The Lodge is amazing, and the cycle there was tough but worth it.

It was an excellend location and it provided the serenity we were looking for. The option for a shuttle pickup was great and the free pass to the fort along with advice on what to see and do while we were on the island was helpful. The continental breakfast we had was wonderful.

The lodge is what it is for keen walkers and hikers and people who want remote rest. Sean is brilliant at getting everybody sorted and picking up from the ferry. to get to the lodge by yourself would be tricky and it is not walkable from the ferry landing quay. sean offered advice and there was tea, coffee and biscuits always ready in the dining room. this place is isolated - the Atlantic wind rips around and clears your head. but it is peaceful for a great night's sleep. - although see not like section.

i did not like the bed - it was uncomfortable and these blooming memory foam mattresses so beloved by many are too soft and curl up at the edges. i slept very badly due to this and the narrow size of the bed which was a shame as in essence the place is quiet - apart from the wind. we had to pay for a taxi to a restaurant and back as it happened to be the night the chef was off - fair enough- but that meant no food. the nearest place with food is the village at the ferry landings but Mike, our lovely driver, did make sure we could get a table at the hotel there before leaving us. he was very cool about pick up and drop off. and he also gave us a deal on the fare. the private bathroom is actually separate to the room, but each room seems to have one so it worked out fine - just need to be appropriately dressed for leaving the room.

Chambre spacieuse avec deux fauteuils. Très belle vue. Les lieux sont très propres. Grand salon agréable à disposition avec des jeux et des fauteuils confortables ainsi que thé / café. A l’étage, petit salon devant une baie vitrée, l’idéal pour bouquiner face au paysage. Bien situé sur l’île avec les principaux sites proches.

Personnel peu accueillant (sauf le jeune homme).Pas d’échange avec le chauffeur du lodge et juste quelques échanges avec madame au moment de payer. Nous ne parlons pas couramment anglais mais nous avons toujours eu des échanges avec les propriétaires des locations. Bref, nous revenons en Irlande pour le formidable accueil et c’est la première fois que nous ne le retrouvons pas .Prises non accessibles, cela demande de déplacer le bureau.

Sean was extremely helpful and very friendly. He got us sorted very quickly. The porridge was great for breakfast. The staff were very friendly. The lift to and from the Ferry . Great that we could also rent a bike from Sean.

Spotlessly clean and professionally run accomodation. Very helpful hosts collected us from the ferry when we missed our first ferry and dropped us back again. Arranged electric bikes for us out of hours. The beds were comfortable, free tea, coffee and water available. Close to beach, fort and the wormhole and a few cafes. We only stayed one night but enjoyed our short stay. Thank you Sean and staff.

Ça fait du bien de passer une nuit au Aran Walkers Lodge. Ça permet de profiter d’Inis Mor la splendide quand elle est calme. Que le gros des touristes sont rentrés en ferry. Monica est accueillante, prévenante et très sympathique. Nous avons écouté ses bons conseils pour découvrir et profiter au mieux de l’île. L’ambiance du Lodge est à son image. Les lits sont confortables et le petit déjeuner copieux. Rapport qualité /prix imbattable.

Rooms were clean, nicely decorated and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with tea, coffee, cereal, etc. The lounge was also nicely decorated and comfortable. It was a 10 minute walk away from one of the best beaches on the island, made even better by the fact that you get the whole thing to yourself after the last ferry has left for the day. The breakfast was very generous with lots of nice options

There was no wifi connection in our room, although simply going down to the end of the hallway allowed us access to it. Somebody else used our bathroom at one point, and tried to get in while one of us was using it, which isn't a huge issue but to my understanding the bathrooms were supposed to be allocated to each room? Unless thats a misunderstanding on my part, maybe the room numbers should be on the bathroom doors to prevent confusion

Mycket vänlig och hjälpsam personal, fantastisk utsikt och omgivningar. Vi hyrde cyklar så det var enkelt att ta sig till sevärdheter och till middag i Kilronan ca 6 km bort.

The room we stayed in was bright and spacious, clean and comfortable. The hosts were so lovely and friendly and full of information on things to do on our stay. It's great that they offer cooked breakfast and transfer to the pier. House was located close to wormhole and fort. Also nice little area with food vans close by, and lovely beach and area to watch sunset.

It would only be a suggestion, not a dislike, maybe a low radio for some background noise in the breakfast room. It was super quiet and I think some low music might break the silence a bit.

The owner, a friendly and kind man, was the reason this lovely place was closed to the shore. Although there’s no air conditioning, we were in the summer (June), so it wasn’t really necessary.

I wasn’t a fan of the breakfast, but I’m quite particular about my food.

Ideal pour sentir l’ambiance de cette île, loin du port et de l’animation, surtout le soir. On peut se promener dans l’ile en se sentant seul au monde. Sean nous a très bien accueillies et était aux petits soins pour nous.

C’est un peu rustique mais c’est pas gênant. Les vélos loués 15€ ne sont pas dernier cris !

The rooms are very clean and the windows have a good view and ventilation. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast is delicious. Very close to the worm hole which means you are out of town a bit which we loved because it is very quiet.

Sean était vraiment gentil, le personnel est attentionné et la loge est bien située pour aller voir les attraits de l'île même si elle est un peu loin du quai. Ce n'est pas grave puisque Sean nous y a conduit 5 euros par personne par trajets.

Room decor was gorgeous and staff were so friendly and helpful. We arrived early and were allowed to leave bags there which helped us. The proximity to Kilmurvey beach was wonderful.

The private bathroom is just outside the bedroom, not a big deal at all and private to us to use only but just might be an issue for some people.

Very clean rooms and great location near some pubs

The location was only a short bicycle ride from the pier. The room was clean and spacious with beautiful views. The communal areas were well kept and inviting, the sitting room especially. The staff were welcoming and friendly.

There was no phone reception which meant you couldn't make phone calls in the Lodge. There was free WiFi provided which helped.

Staff gentilissimo (Sean) e molto disponibile (abbiamo potuto cenare con richiesta very last minute) e la cena era buona. In effetti, se alloggiate lì, è difficile cenare altrove nell'isola.
