Port Aran House

We felt very lucky to have booked a room at this lovely guesthouse on the magical isle of Inishmore. Everything about our stay was great - the breakfasts, the hot tub in the backyard with breathtaking seaside views, the room facilities, and above all, Kevin's warm hospitality and care. The host really made sure that all his guests had everything they needed. We didn't bring much luggage so it took us around 25 minutes of walking to reach the house, alternatively there are bike hire places and occasional taxis near the pier. We'll be keeping very fond memories of this place and hope to return one day. Thank you!

Everything was really good, we felt quite comfortable and warm for the most part. Our room floor was a little cold to walk on without shoes though (it was mid-September), so we'd recommend to bring slippers if possible.

Kevin and Sokha were wonderful hosts and we really enjoyed our stay!

Port Aran House is a nice house with several rooms overlooking the see, about 20' walk from the ferry port. The host was very welcoming and friendly. He showed us the room and the facilities in the house. The next morning, the host had prepared for all people staying in the house, very nice scones and provided with different other options like fresh fruit, yogurt, coffee, juice, bread, butter, etc. for breakfast. There were also eggs that one could use to cook if they wanted. Overall, the overnight stay was very nice.

The only issue with the place was its sound-proofing. Our room had a private bathroom but it was also adjoint to the common bathroom. Every time someone used it, you could hear a lot the noise from the water. Luckily, other residents did not use the bathroom late in the night but this might be an issue. Also the doors to the rooms do not block much the sound. Another potential comment would be that the terrace and hot tub are in front of the host's house which makes it slightly uncomfortable perhpas to use any time.

Very comfortable accommodation in the wonderful Aran islands. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean and stylishly furnished, including beautiful artwork. Great facilities including a dining room with access to tea, coffee, fresh milk etc as well as a fridge and cooking facilities. We especially loved the hot tub on the terrace with stunning sea views . Excellent breakfast with homemade bread and scones. Good location on edge of the village of Kilronan. The host Kevin is friendly and helpful.

Port Aran House was in a beautiful location with a panoramic view of the ocean from the deck. The deck was a comfortable place to rest. The hosts were delightful. Breakfast was great even with homemade bread.

Das Port Aran Haus können wir allen die auf die Aran Islands reisen absolut empfehlen! Die Zimmer und das ganze Haus ist sehr sauber und geschmackvoll eingerichtet und die Gastgeberfamilie war extrem freundlich und hilfsbereit. Fast täglich bekamen wir richtig gute Tipps für unsere Ausflüge auf der Insel. Das Frühstück war superlecker und mit jede Menge frischem Obst auch sehr gesund. Von unserem Zimmer hatten wir einen tollen Blick auf das Meer und haben uns immer wieder gerne auch dort aufgehalten. Das ganze Haus hat eine freundliche einladende Atmosphäre, hier kommen wir bestimmt mal wieder!

Lovely shared housing on Inishmoor Island, the owners were friendly, welcoming and super helpful with adjustments and suggestions for the island.

It was a little noisy, with thin walls and small kids families staying, we expected this going in, it really just meant early morning wake up and lots of kids interactions which we wasn't too disruptive for us.

Ein sehr schönes und stylisches B&B, Kevin war ein sehr freundlicher und hilfsbereiter Gastgeber. Bonus war der Whirlpool mit Aussicht auf das Meer.

The location, the cozy atmosphere, the care and attention to details and a great breakfast selection with handmade products.

Liebevoll eingerichtete Unterkunft mit einem super sympathischen, gastfreundlichen Gastgeber. Die Lage ist ein bisschen entfernt vom Hafen, was wir vorher wussten - zu Fuß und mit dem Rad war der Weg kein Problem. Für den Transport des Gepäcks zur Unterkunft hätte es Transportmöglichkeiten über den Fahrradverleih und über Kevin gegeben - wir haben das nicht in Anspruch genommen, sondern sind mit Gepäck zu Fuß gegangen. Rechtzeitig vor unserer Ankunft haben wir eine Nachricht von Kevin mit allen wichtigen Infos bekommen. Das Frühstück war liebevoll zubereitet, mit frischem Obst und selbstgebackenem Brot, Scones und Muffins. Es gab einen Hot Tub, den wir nicht genutzt haben sowie ein gemeinsames Wohnzimmer mit Sofas und Fernseher.

Wir hätten länger bleiben sollen 😊

The host was very friendly and helpful. The luggage arrangement was fantastic that I didn't have to go back and forth. The location was great, much shorter than I expected. The continental breakfast was fantastic. The freshly baked scorn was die for. I'd highly recommend Port Aran House to anyone!

One of the beds made a little creaking noise. But it didn't bother me to sleep well. I wasn't woken up by it. It happened when I got into the bed and when I moved around on the bed.

Rien de spécial. Ajouter peut-être un peu de fromage ou de charcuterie au petit déjeuner, mais rien d'obligatoire.

Very happy with our stay at Port Aran House! It was super easy to get to, we could leave our bags and come back whenever we were done wandering the island, and Kevin gave us some good tips on where to go. The room was clean and comfortable with a lovely sea view and the scones are breakfast were delicious.

Nothing negative to add. The property matched the description on Booking.com and suited us very well.

Super accueil, très bonne situation, beaucoup de soin apporté au déjeuner "continental" avec du bon café en libre service, plein de fruits, des fantastiques scones maison et du bon pain. Possibilité de réserver le jacuzzi avec vue sur la mer. Tout était formidable!

Maison moderne très bien décorée (très belles photos de Kevin). Salle de bain spacieuse et espaces dédiés aux hôtes : cuisine, salle à manger et salon : spacieux et confortables. Petit déjeuner copieux et varié. Facile d'accès en vélo depuis le bateau. Bel endroit sur l'île et bel accueil.

Kevin and Sonja are great. The place was spotless with a very nice vibe. I booked the hot tub at 7 am and had a magical morning. Breakfast includes homemade bread and muffins, fresh fruit and the location is very easy to access. Would definitely stay there again. Highly recommend.

De accommodatie was van topkwaliteit; wat betreft netheid en hygiëne veel beter dan de meeste andere verblijven in Ierland. Het ontbijt, zelfbediening zonder dat de host er bij was, was van uitzonderlijke kwaliteit: vers fruit, versgebakken brood, yoghurt, zelfgemaakte scones…. Wat ons betreft niets op aan te merken. Verder nog een heel behulpzame host, en een jacuzzi met uitzicht op zee, in de prijs inbegrepen.

Als je van de haven komt, dan moet je een beetje omhoog fietsen of wandelen, maar dat wisten we op voorhand.

The property was spotless, modern, and beautifully stylish. After a long day on the bikes, we headed straight for the hot tub, which was the perfect way to relax. The views were absolutely stunning, and we had the most wonderful stay. Highly recommend!

The host is very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely, well decorated, nice bathroom, good shower. The buffet breakfast was fantastic, the home baked goods, the fruit, the eggs provided etc.

The location is great. We cycled. It took us 5 minutes to get there. Super easy check in. Communication with the hosts = no problem. The room was gorgeous, clean and beautifully decorated. The bed was so comfortable I would have stayed another night just to sleep in it hahahaha

I was a bit disappointed with the breakfast to be honest. I expected a bit more. We came down for breakfast at 9.30am and most of the goodies had already been gone :-(

Sokha and Kevin were so friendly and welcoming. The house is beautiful, the hot tub is the icing on the cake. Breakfast was also really good, the scones and bread were outstanding.

Very welcoming guesthouse, good location, nice breakfast, very clean, host Kevin was very friendly and helpful and even gave us a lift with our luggage to the ferry on the way back, didn't try the hot-tub but the other guests said it was great with fabulous views of the sea, hope to return to try it! Excellent location- fresh fruits and baked goods provided each morning for breakfast . Friendly and welcoming hosts who had some great tips on things to do during your stay- highly recommended.

Stayed a few weeks back and absolutely loved it. Very clean, quiet and comfortable after a day exploring the island. It is perfectly located just a short walk/cycle to Kilronan. Breakfast was superb and our hosts were lovely. We will definitely come back!

Everything was perfect, the breakfast, the best scones ever, Bailey was the cutest, Kevin was so helpful, the jacuzzi was an absolute delight ! Beddings and linen were comfortable and decoration was put with a lot of care and taste, the little photos at the entrance were so beautiful we purchased 4 of em. Thank you for everything, we just wanted to stay forever !

Die Gastgeber sind super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Es wurde z.B. extra für mich der Hottub auf der Terrase (mit Blick aufs Meer) angeheizt. Beim Frühstück gibt es selbst gemachtes Brot und Buttermilch-Scones. Die Unterkunft ist vom Hafen gut zu erreichen und der nächste Pub - mit gutem Essen - ist auch nur 5 Minuten zu Fuß weg.

Beim Frühstück fehlte es etwas an herzhaften Optionen.

Kevin was a very friendly guy that made all the guests comfortable. He imparted a lot of useful information about the island. The kitchen facilities were always available and the room was clean and comfortable. The location was on the high road less than 1km from the only town an easy 10 minute walk and convenient to Joe Walty pub less than 5 minutes walk. A great host and would definitely recommend this lodgings to see the island.

The weather could have been better although the expectations was low and no one comes to the island for brilliant sunshine .

Kevin and his lovely family (including Bailey the corgi!) made me feel very welcome and right at home. The room and common areas were really lovely and cozy. I already miss the homemade scones served at breakfast. Good location to explore the rest of the island from!

Sokha and Kevin were super welcoming, always engaging with hosts and giving the best tips about the island... and the scones, just delicious!

This was the most perfect location on Inis Mor. Sokha and Kevin were the most accommodating hosts. We travelled an adult family of 5, the oldest being 80 and youngest 36. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit. There is a communal kitchen area so u could cook of an evening if u didn't want to eat out. Breakfast was amazing!! Freshly baked goods and fresh fruit. Cereal and eggs are also an option. There is a communal sitting room which was perfect for my mother who liked to wind down of an evening and watch a bit of tv. The bedrooms had everything we needed and amazing views. I couldn't imagine a nicer place to stay. Outside the views were stunning and it was less than a 10 minute walk to joe whattys and a little bit further to the shop and the village. We did not want to leave. We had an amazing time and will definitely return. Thank you Sokha and Kevin x

That we didn't book longer

Sehr leckeres, liebevoll hergerichtetes Frühstück mit frischem Obst, Scones, Bananenmuffins, Sauerteigbrot. Geschmackvoll eingerichtetes B&B. Kevin war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und hat uns am letzten Tag sogar die Koffer an den Hafen gebracht, damit wir unsere Fahrradtour direkt am Hafen beenden konnten. Wenn man möchte, kann man nach Reservierung für eine Stunde in den heißen Whirlpool steigen. Von da aus hat man eine phänomenale Sicht aufs Meer. Immer wieder gerne. Danke Kevin!

Excellent building, terrific food, vegetarian friendly, and comfortable bed. Show was excellent, though it took some time for the hot water to reach our end of the house. The owners were very helpful suggesting who to contact for tours (horse drawn are much nicer and calmer). Not too far to walk for excellent lunch and dinner. House has rooftop solar and an EV so it definitely made us feel at home. The owner’s wife is an excellent cook. The owner is a terrific photographer. We would definitely return.

Superb accommodation in the heart of Inishmore. One of the nicest B&B's we have stayed in throughout the country. Kevin was a very welcoming host and took the time to chat to us about the island and more. We had the pleasure of lazing in the hot tub while soaking up the coastal views. Breakfast was a real treat with Sokha's delicious homemade scones. We will be back!
