Reviewed Sep 8, 2026Hostitelka je velmi milá a vstřícná. Snídaně byla velmi dobrá a měla přátelskou atmosféru. Líbila se nám poloha ubytování. Je to ubytování za dobrou cenu ve kterém nám nic nechybělo - pokoj byl čistý, v koupelně byl sprchový gel i šampon, hostitelka nás nechala použít rychlovarnou konvici :)

Booking.com to have rated it properly so we were aware of what the place was like. The accommodation was not as expected. It is a large home that needs a lot of work. We were looking for country cosy and it didn't have that feel at all.

Reviewed Aug 29, 2026The host was nice, she helped us check in late but gave us quite a scare when we saw her in the middle of the night in the stairs. The drive in was also a little creepy in the dark so it might be why.
The house is very old, the room was kinda fixed with the good old landlord coat of paint but I saw a few rust stains and spiders and it's just not the perfect time I was hoping.

Reviewed Aug 23, 2026Die Gastgeberin Kamla macht durch ihren Charme, ihr Freundlichkeit, ihre Verbindlichkeit und die sehr genussvoll Gespräche Alles wett, was es zu bemängeln gibt. Es gibt entgegen der Ankündigung d o c h Frühstück, eben nur ein kontinentales, kein englisches. Das war uns sehr recht. Kamla hat uns damit sehr überrascht. Trotz anderer "besserer" Häuser hat uns das Ballynona Haus am besten beeindruckt. .
Das früher sicher vornehme Gebäude ist in die Jahre gekommen. Auch die englisch barocke Einrichtung ;) Man wird dank der sehr sympathischen Ausstrahlung der Gastgeberin Kamla schnell darüber hinwegsehen.

Robinetterie d'époque sans beaucoup de pression car l'eau vient d'un puits. Mais possibilité de prendre un bon bain si vous êtes habitués à des douches avec beaucoup de pression.

Reviewed Aug 18, 2026The house is a beautiful old manor with wonderful charm. The decor was a vintage/antique vibe that I loved. Set right in the countryside with beautiful rolling hills of green as views from some of the bedrooms and the kitchen. Kamala was a wonderful, welcoming host and fixed a very nice breakfast in the morning with homemade muffins, hard boiled eggs, toast, cereal, milk, yogurt, and fruit. Chilled, relaxed place that I warmly recommend!
There were a few cobwebs in the room that could do with a little dusting away :D but all in all, a great stay! Just for those that don't do well with stairs, there are quite a few of them to climb in the house.

Reviewed Aug 14, 2026Ballynona House es una mansión del siglo XIX que tiene muchísimo encanto. La ubicación es espectacular ya que está rodeada de praderas bucólicas. Kamla es capaz de conseguir que te sientas como en casa (aunque nunca hayas vivido en una de 7 habitaciones y 2 chimeneas). Prepara un desayuno muy completo y con dedicación en su maravillosa cocina, lo que facilita la conversación con el resto de huéspedes. No esperes un alojamiento impoluto, moderno y aséptico pero sí uno que recordarás con cariño.

Reviewed Aug 3, 2026Kamla is echt de meest vriendelijke gastvrouw. Ze doet alles om het je naar de zin te maken, stelt zich heel dienstbaar op. Staat ook open voor een praatje, een gezellig mens! De locatie is prachtig, afgelegen en dus rustig. Een landgoed met veel charmes en rijk aan historie. Hier moet je van houden. Wij vonden het prachtig! Ook al moet er het nodige an onderhoud worden gepleegd, het doet niet iets af aan de ervaring. We hadden geen rekening gehouden met ontbijt (niet goed gelezen wellicht) maar er stond smorgens van alles klaar, van gekookte eitjes tot verse toast en yoghurt met diverse soorten cereals. Heerlijk ontbeten. Wat ons betreft is dit adres een aanrader!

Reviewed Jul 22, 2026Breakfast was fine. I would like a cooked breakfast but understand the reasons why a simple breakfast was supplied.
The Shower was excellent but a little on the small side. Hot water was plentiful. The toilet requires attention in the off suite as the refill takes far too long and generally does not flush sufficiently well to clear the waste. The b&b requires a lot of maintenance to bring up the standards.

Unfortunately, we were not able to stay at the property. When we arrived, we noticed that the house was very old, poorly maintained, and had a very strong smell of damp/old closed-up house. We had to open the windows immediately because the smell was extremely unpleasant and impossible to tolerate. In addition, the owner informed us that there were bats at the property, which made us feel very scared and unsafe. This caused a lot of distress, and we did not feel comfortable or secure enough to use the house, sleep there, or remain at the property. The atmosphere felt very heavy and uncomfortable, and the house did not seem to be in suitable condition to receive guests. For this reason, we had to leave immediately. This was not a matter of personal preference, but a matter of safety, hygiene, and well-being. Therefore, we kindly request the cancellation of the booking without any charge and a full refund, as we were unable to use the accommodation.

Reviewed Jun 15, 2026The host, Kamla, was very welcoming and friendly. We loved the grandeur of the property and the relaxed atmosphere. The room was very clean and the parking space for our van was excellent. Also, the informal breakfast was great and we particularly enjoyed chatting around the breakfast table with the other guests and the host, whilst enjoying the lovely views over the garden. The house is an old period property with original features, and for us, this added to the charm of our stay.
There wasn't anything that we didn't like. Everything was great.

Reviewed May 28, 2026We didn't stay for breakfast the following morning, but the owner still made sure we didn't leave with empty stomachs. Delicious, homemade and warm muffins set us up for our journey home. Her dog was lovely and friendly. I loved the view, it was gorgeous in the good summer weather and honestly, I would love to go back in the autumn to see how it changes. Very much enhanced our stay. The house itself is full of charm and it was easy to feel at home in such a cosy place.
Nothing I didn't like. Like I said, the house was full of old world charm and it was everything I would want for my own house. Lovely gardens and the owner works hard herself to maintain them.

After being cold all day we were looking forward to a cozy stay. The house was very cold when we arrived, and didn’t warm up. Luckily there was a hot shower and electric blanket for the bed. We were also told that the water upstairs was not drinkable, but only as an aside, and after we had already done that. There were glasses there but no notes indicating not to drink-oops!

Rooms are in need of a serious clean-and renovation work (I was afraid to touch the window for fear that it would disintegrate.. Only one small towel was provided for shower. Room was sparse and had no TV. Hostess was unfriendly and unwelcoming.
