A magical homestay experience in Mirissa – Bon Accord is a must-stay! ❤️ We had the most wonderful stay at Bon Accord, and it's hands-down the best homestay in Mirissa. From the moment we arrived, Prasad's & Prashantu's hospitality made us feel like family. The breakfast spread was outstanding every single morning — fresh, generous, and clearly made with so much care. But what truly won our hearts was Prasad's & Prashantu's thoughtfulness: he handmade a different flower arrangement for me each morning — sometimes a garland, sometimes a tiara — all crafted himself. It's the kind of personal touch you simply don't find anywhere else. The rooms were spotless and smelled absolutely amazing, and the whole property had such a warm, homely feel. Add to that two adorable dachshunds who instantly became part of our stay, and it made everything even more special. If you're looking for a homestay in Mirissa with genuine warmth, incredible hospitality, and thoughtful little touches that turn a stay into a memory — Bon Accord is it. Highly, highly recommend!

What a beautiful place, everything was perfect. We were welcomed so kindly by Prasad! We were given great recommendations by him also on places to see in Mirissa. We were also extremely grateful as we visited over the Sri Lankan new year and we noticed how gracefully Prasad managed a time which is spent visiting family whilst also ensuring we were well looked after, we thank you for this and wish you and your family a beautiful new year. Finally, it can’t got without mentioning THE BREAKFAST! What a beautiful spread! A typical Sri Lankan breakfast each morning that was all homemade and absolutely delicious, we ‘rolled’ away from the table wishing we could have more of our tummy’s didn’t feel like they’d burst. We stayed for 4 nights and we loved everything. It was sparkling clean and the host is very meticulous so he cleans the rooms every day. AC was good and there is enough space even with big suitcases. The bed is comortable and sheets very clean. There was always flowers in the room. You also have a little balcony which is a plus. The best thing during this stay was the breakfast. The host made local dishes, different every mornning, which were really tasty and in large quantities. It was by far the best breakfast we had during our trip. Even better than the food was the host who is super pleasant, speaks great english, he is caring and if you want to go somewhere or do something just ask and he will help. I am travelling often and it was the best host i ever had. If i were you I would book this.

Our stay at Bon Accord Guesthouse (Mirissa) was absolutely outstanding. Without a doubt, the best hospitality we experienced during our entire trip in Sri Lanka. Prasad and his partner are an incredibly kind and welcoming couple. From the very beginning, they made us feel at home. We were welcomed with cold towels (perfect after the heat) and given a full introduction with recommendations on where to eat and what to visit. They truly went above and beyond to help us with everything: organizing our whale watching tour, driving us so we could arrive first and get the best seats, helping us exchange money, and arranging our taxi. Every detail was taken care of with genuine care and attention. The room was very comfortable, with air conditioning, fans and even a fridge, which was a great extra. Everything was clean and well maintained. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, one of the best we had during our trip. The location is perfect — just a 2-minute walk to Mirissa Beach and close to places like Parrot Rock and Coconut Tree Hill. Overall, an amazing stay. I honestly don't even know where to begin! Everything about this stay exceeded our expectations. Firstly the place is in an amazing location. Close to shops, restaurants, 5mins walk from the beach and the port, and walking distance to famous tourist attractions like parrot rock and coconut tree hill. Secondly, the host is absolutely amazing, and the hospitality was unmatchable. We were provided with beach towels, a list of recommended places to visit, there's flashlights for the evening if needed, umbrellas in case it rained and he explained to us what we should be careful about. He offered us cold towels to cool down when we got back from the whale watching as well as tea/coffee. He gave my wife flowers to put in her head during the day and a flower tiara before we went out for dinner. And the breakfast was amazing! It was proper Sri Lankan breakfast and it was so delicious!! As for the actual room, it was great. There was AC and Fan, mosquito net, every plug had an international adapter, the room was great, bathroom was very nice with warm water, the bed was comfortable and our room also has a nice balcony. I want to go back to Mirissa again just to stay in Bon Accord again. Thank you so much for everything Prasad!

Wat een fantastische gastheer! Zeer behulpzaam met allerlei aanbevelingen voor restaurants, stranden etc. Het ontbijt is het meest uitgebreid en best dat wij in Sri Lanka gehad hebben.

The hotel’s super close to the beach. The rooms get cleaned every day. Even though I told them it wasn’t necessary, they asked me to check, and when I came back, my room had been cleaned again—it made me really happy. Breakfast was amazing, full of local dishes, and the staff even explained how to eat everything, which really shows how much they care. They also gave us tons of tips about things to do around here, which made our trip so much easier. If I come back, I’ll definitely stay at this hotel again.

Totally fab stay in Mirissa. Prasad was a top-class host and arranged our whale watching tour and even took us there in the early hours of the morning to ensure we got the best seats/ experience possible. We loved learning about the changes in the local area from the experience of someone who grew up in a very different era of Mirissa. The room is exceptionally clean and comfortable. We felt part of the family and were fed extremely well at breakfast.

Хозяин очень старается, молодец, подал замороженные полотенца при заселении, чем удивил. До пляжа 5 минут пешком, сам пляж понравился, ресторанчики хорошие. Вечером в ресторанчиках официанты обкуренные серферы. Завтраки вполне нормальные с фруктами или соком. На 1-4 дня можно останавливаться.

У соседей была свадьба, гуляли до 4 утра, не поспишь. Нет кондиционера в общих помещениях, выходишь из номера и плывешь, таешь). В остальном не к чему придраться.

Wir hatten leider nur eine Nacht hier – und das bedauern wir wirklich sehr. Das Frühstück war einfach sensationell, frisch, vielfältig und mit viel Liebe zubereitet. Der Gastgeber war außergewöhnlich freundlich, hat uns alles genau erklärt und für eine rundum angenehme Atmosphäre gesorgt. Das Zimmer war sehr groß, sehr gemütlich und hatte eine Klimaanlage, die wir überhaupt nicht gehört haben. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen!

Beste Unterkunft unserer Sri Lanka Reise. Jeden Morgen wurde ein anderes üppiges frisch zubereitetes leckeres Frühstück serviert. Alles wurde ausführlich erklärt. Das ganze Homestay sehr sauber, Zimmer liebevoll dekoriert. Der Gastgeber ist bei allem behilflich. Ist mit meinem Mann extra zur ATM gefahren Geld holen, da wir irgendwie nicht zurecht kamen. Haben noch nie ein so tolles homestay gehabt. Strand ein paar Minuten Fußweg entfernt. Unbedingte Empfehlung!!!

Wonderful location, spotlessly clean and lovely decor. Excellent host providing welcome drink along with information about how best to get around and what places to see and recommendations for restaurants - you’ll only need an evening meal though as Prasard personally prepares the most amazing and more than ample breakfasts … they are an experience not to be missed :)

There is little I can add to all the previous reviews. This place really is exceptional! The host is such a lovely man who makes it his business to look after everyone and anticipate what anyone could possibly need. The room was spotlessly clean the bed was comfy. The frozen flannels were genius and the breakfast was magnificent. It’s literally 2 minutes walk to the beach and there are plenty of restaurants and bars on the same road. Utterly faultless. 😁

The hotel is located close to Mirissa's main beach. It's clean, tidy, and cozy. The room has everything you need for a stay; we were even given towels and a beach bag, which was a nice touch! Prasad, the owner, is an incredible person, very friendly and courteous. He prepared new dishes for breakfast for us every day, and at the check-in he gave us a leaflet with all the sights of Mirissa. In addition to the room, we also had umbrellas, flashlights, and a shared refrigerator. I've never seen such care for guests anywhere! I wish this hotel prosperity and will definitely return!

This accommodation was recommended to us by friends who were very enthusiastic about it and convinced us with their enthusiasm. So we decided to book and spent three nights there. What we experienced was not just simple accommodation. It was a mixture of hospitality, warmth and gratitude. Prasad told us about Sri Lankan country and history, prepared us a typical Sri Lankan breakfast, typical dishes that we hadn't tried after 10 days in Sri Lanka, took us to an ethical whale watching organisation in the morning, helped us with all our questions and gave us really good tips. The house is really well maintained and we would give it 100 points for cleanliness. We have never felt so welcomed with open arms and hearts as we did in this house. Thank you for everything, we had a wonderful time in Mirissa. Thank you to Prasad and his friend for making this time so wonderful.

Room was very clean and close to the beaches. Host was very kind, booked the whale trip and transportation for us. He allowed us to use the bathroom & store the luggage before & after the check-in/out hours. He provided information on the nearby beaches & recommended restaurants, which were very good.

The host went above and beyond to welcome us to Mirissa and enhance our stay; we really felt like special guests in his home. Very well situated for the beach and whale watching tours. Prasad ist ein sehr herzlicher und hilfsbereiter Gastgeber. Er hat uns ganz kurzfristig eine Führung in die Zimtplantage organisiert 🙏🏽 und ist für alle Fragen offen. Seine Unterkunft ist sehr sauber, gemütlich und ruhig. In 5 min ist man am Strand und viele Restaurants sind in der Nähe. Das Frühstück war für uns auch mal etwas ganz besonderes. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.

Our stay at Bon accord was trully something amazing. Prasad is such an amazing host and person. We loved every moment of our stay! From the beginning, he welcomed us with amazing tea and juice and he was explaining everything you can do around Mirissa, showing us places and recommending restaurants. His house is beautiful and so are the rooms. It was very clean, with everything you need and very clean bathroom and we also had a balcony. Prasad is taking care of you like you are the part of his home 😍 He cleans rooms each day and he pays attention to every detail. It really was our best stay on Sri Lanka. The beach is very close 2 minutes by walk and all restaurants are also very close. This is really something extraordinary and I highly recommend to stay at his place. And ofc breakfast was amazing. The host guided me carefully, cleaned the accommodation cleanly for two nights and three days, and replaced towels. The meal was generous and delicious. Whenever I went outside every day, the host put pretty real flowers in my head or hung them around my neck, so I felt good. The beach is close, so the location of the accommodation is good. The lounge and dining room are decorated with beautiful colors to upgrade the travel mood. If I go to Mirisa, it is an accommodation I really want to stay again.

Words can not express how wonderful this stay was. Prasad and Krishantha are the most wonderful caring people I have ever met and, of course, their loveable dashounds.. The room was immaculate everything you need. The extra little care and beautiful touches with the flowers and the best smelling and softest bed linen and towels in all of srilanka. The thought and kindness that these 2 gentlemen put into your stay is above and beyond. Believe me all the comments are true. 100% recommend this place can't wait to go back.

Our host was the kindest, most thoughtful man who went out of his way to make our stay so memorable. The rooms were immaculate. He has fresh flower petals on the beds, a beautiful varied breakfast every morning for us and even made me some beautiful flower chains to wear out when we were leaving for dinner. He showed us lots of lovely places to eat and places to visit. Definitely worth staying here if you want a personable homely stay. Location was also fantastic- walking distance to everything.

The location of the property is perfect. Only a 2 minute walk to the start of Mirissa beach, but far enough away that it’s nice and quiet on an evening. The room was spacious with a large bed, bathroom and your own balcony. The breakfast was amazing every morning, with a mix of Sri Lankan and western foods. But by far the best thing about this place is the owner. He is by far the nicest host we have ever had the pleasure of staying with. He really made us feel like we were at home.

You need to stay at Bon Accord! The rooms are beautiful, very clean and you get fresh flowers every other day. The location is perfect; a very short walk from the beach and away from the main road so it’s nice and quiet. But that is just the beginning. It is Prasad’s personal touch that takes it to the truly exceptional level, and beyond! From the breakfast to all the help he offers and his eye for detail. He has a long list of fantastic tips for restaurants, beaches and other things to do. You want something? Prasad will take care of it. We were there during low season so he even had time to drive us around. I’ve never seen a personal touch better than Prasad’s. Prasad; we love you!

I can't rate Bon Accord highly enough ❤️ great location, just a short walk from the beach, harbour, shops, restaurants, and an ATM. It was impeccably clean and the room was tended to daily, complete with fresh flowers. The value was excellent and included a very generous and beautiful homemade breakfast in the morning. We were also able to book transportation and whale watching through the property. Prasad was a wonderful host and made every aspect of our stay pleasant and easy. He runs Bon Accord with great care, and it was very much appreciated.

First of all, I can't say enough for the owner Prasad. 6-star hospitality!!! Excellent breakfast, super clean, gave us very helpful tips and suggested excellent places. He really seems to love what he is doing and really cared about us. In the second night I was feeling sick, and he woke up like at 3 o'clock in the morning and went with his car to get me some paracetamol! The room was super clean with lovely smell and all amenities. Even towels for the beach! Laundry services as well. Every day the room was cleaned up. Thank you, Prasad!! Totally recommended!!!

Prasad and Krishantha were excellent hosts - so attentive and friendly. We were welcomed to the homestay with an ice cold flannel and fresh juice, and this level of attention remained throughout our stay, including lovely touches such as giving my girlfriend flowers for her hair every day and explaining the traditional Sri Lankan breakfast. The room was clean and comfortable - it was lovely to be a part of this homestay.

Everything about my stay here was amazing. The main thing to say is that the host is incredibly kind, helpful, knowledgeable and generous! For example, he took me to get my whale watching ticket, then sped me to the boat on his motorbike so I could beat the others there and get the best seat! He also gave me a lift to the station when I checked out which was incredibly kind. He gave amazing restaurant recommendations too, and provided a beach bag and towel which was handy. The room was big, modern, clean and had good facilities like a fridge (v useful!). Bathroom was clean and good. The room was cleaned every day which was great. The AC in the room works really well too. The location is fantastic - quiet during the night, but super close to the beach and restaurants/cafes so you can walk anywhere you need to get to. The breakfasts were sensational, huge with different local options each day. If you want an amazing homestay in Mirissa, which is suitable for the expectations of Westerners, then this is the place.

Prasad was an exceptional host who pays attention to small details such as ice cold flannels when you arrive on a hot day. He went above and beyond giving us advice about the local area, and helping us to arrange a whale watching tour and onwards taxi travel, making sure we got the best price. The breakfast was excellent and huge. The room was spotless, comfortable and really well maintained. The location was an easy walk to the main Mirisa beach, secret beach, the harbour and the main town. We would have happily stayed longer if our itinerary allowed and highly recommend staying here.

He even took me down to the harbour early so that I could get a good seat on a whale watching trip. Very comfortable bed and excellent breakfast. Prasad was able to organise eco-aware whale watching trip for us (but we didn't see any whales 😥)

Room was a little on the small side for two people with large suitcases.

What not to like? Great hospitality with nice breakfast and a super clean room. Owners are super attentive, explaining each item at the breakfast. There are complementary beach towels. If you pass by a hotel, you can easily access to the Mirissa beach. Secret beach and whale watching organizations are also close. We also used their laundry service with a reasonable price .

Our stay was great. The accommodation was excellent. Everything was clean and it had all the necessary things. 2 min walk to the beach and 5 min to the city center. The variations of the Sri Lankan breakfast were perfect, Prasad made our stay very pleasant and comfortable. Always ready to answer and help with everything. Warm recommendations for this accommodation and Prasad. if the rating could be more than 10, Prasad would get it from us.

Everything. It was very clean and calm. We saw monkeys from the balcony. Whenever we left the building our super friendly host gave me a flower or a necklace or wreath of flowers. The topical sri lankan breakfast das amazing. We got beach towels and they provide laundry service too. We would have prolonged our stay, but the property was already fully booked.

We had the room towards the street which gets a bit noisy once the street gets busy in the morning. Plus, you always have a short walk ahead of you (which was not a big issue for us)

I had a fabulous stay with Prasad. His attention to detail is exceptional with fresh flowers, daily cleaning and regular linen change, and he gave me a paper with a list of places to visit and eat at. I started each morning early with coffee, which he was happy to provide, while I did some work. Then I sat down to a banquet of a breakfast with different Sri Lankan foods and fresh fruit each day. His knowledge of the history of Mirissa is fascinating and he is always courteous and attentive. I would definitely recommend if staying in Mirissa.

The host Prasad is amazing, super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a bit different every morning, with very good, local foods. Especially the fruit plate was beautiful and delicious. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, with an effective AC. The guesthouse is close to the Mirissa beach and also the harbour, if you are going whale watching. You can see wild monkeys and peacocks from the balcony, which we loved. Overall a perfect stay!

It was a wonderful stay. The house and rooms are beautiful and clean. The breakfasts are delicious, varied, and traditional to Sri Lankan cuisine. The owner is a wonderful person.

Excellent host who arranged everything for us. Brilliant location 5 minutes walk from the beach and town centre, but in a quiet spot.

Prasad is so attentive and welcoming. Passes on lots of knowledge and always there to help. Comfortable room with great location. So close to mirissa beach, secret beach is also walking distance. We booked whale watching, the harbour is less than 5 minutes walk too. Can't comment on breakfast as we were up so early for an excursion at the harbour. Complimentary water in the room. Highly recommend this homestay! Great value. Thanks Prasad!

His warmth, kindness, and thoughtful touches made our experience extraordinary. ❤️ Every night, Prasad created a beautiful, hand-crafted flower crown for me—such a personal and thoughtful gesture that added a magical touch to our evenings. The attention to detail was remarkable—everything we could need, from umbrellas and flashlights to beach towels and a beach bag, was provided. The rooms were spotless and cleaned daily, and breakfast was fantastic. The location was perfect, just 100m from the beach and a short walk to the main street. This truly was the best part of our entire Sri Lanka trip, and it’s all thanks to Prasad. If you're looking for a place with exceptional hospitality, I cannot recommend this place highly enough!
