The wifi was artificially rate-limited in the downstream direction to 2.2 MBit/s, despite the upstream working at >15 times that speed; but as I wasn’t there to work, it didn’t bother me too much; anyway 4G telco coverage is fine in the area. The TV reception in the top room in the house was poor and frustrating to watch.

Het ontbijt is heerlijk: keuze tussen Irish of pancakes. Altijd toast, yoghurt en fruit. We krijgen fijne tips waar heen en hoe er heen te gaan van John en Barbara.

Reviewed Jul 15, 2026We stayed in Barbara's lovely Woodlands Guest Accomodation Oughterard after a football match in Salthill. We left Salthill and arrived at the B&B little over 20 mins which makes this place a fantastic location. I felt it was really wonderful value also. Barbara had checked in with us via email earlier that day about our arrival time which I thought was a nice touch. She was very welcoming, warm, professional and the setting of the B&B was very peaceful and relaxing, yet not too rural. Ample parking available. Delicious Irish breakfast and a luxurious, cosy bedroom with ensuite which we could sit back in, relax, watch television and make a cup of tea. Overall, we were very impressed. I would recommend to all.

Barbara notre hôte est très accueillante. Elle vous prépare un super petit déjeuner copieux et toujours avec le sourire. Elle nous a même conseillé des itinéraires, afin de voir les plus beaux paysages, nous recommandons sans hésitation !

Reviewed Jul 7, 2026We stayed in the family room at the top of the stairs. Beautiful and very comfortable room with ensuite bathroom. Very peaceful surroundings. We slept like babies. Our host Barbara was very welcoming, a lovely lady. Breakfast is included and is worth spending time to enjoy it. You can choose between Irish or continental and also have a small buffet to choose from (cereal, yoghurt, orange juice, fruit salad). All in all, we had a short but great stay. I highly recommend this B&B. Great starting point to discover Connemara.

Reviewed May 15, 2026Barbara was such a great host! She made sure we had what we needed and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Her husband gave us wonderful tips for sightseeing close by. We wanted somewhere near Kylemore Abbey without staying in Galway and her place in Oughtrard was a perfect location. The place was so, so clean and her made to order breakfasts were divine. Very reasonably priced. Definite 5 stars! Thank you, Barbara!!

Notre chambre était très confortable avec une moquette si douce et une literie des plus agréable Le petit déjeuner est très bon, nous avons le choix entre le typique petit déjeuner Irlandais ou des pancakes, c’est très appréciable. Barbara et son mari sont au petits soins pour nous, ils nous ont conseillé le meilleur itinéraire autour des lacs du Connemara.
Le seul bémol, c’est la chasse d’eau qui met longtemps à se remplir, quand on est plusieurs, ce n’est pas très pratique

The breakfast is amazing (pancakes, yogurt and fruits or classic Irish breakfast). The owners will help you to organize you journey through the Connemara ( worth it ! We saw some amazing spots thanks to their advise !

La casa es de ensueño y la habitación muy coqueta. La limpieza es impecable y los detalles brillan. El entorno si te gusta la naturaleza es excepcional.
