We had a wonderful stay at Misty Paradise of Lake Gregory. The host and all the staff were extremely kind, welcoming, and attentive, making us feel right at home. The lakeside location was beautiful, especially watching the mist move across the water. The food was delicious, and the customized breakfast was a lovely touch. Overall, a peaceful and memorable experience—we truly enjoyed our stay!

We had a wonderful stay with 4 adults and 4 kids, including our newborn. The stay was very comfortable, and the kids absolutely loved it! The food was delicious, and the portions were really generous most dishes were easily enough for two people. We really appreciated that they offered halal meals and provided safe parking, which made our stay even more convenient. And the view was absolutely breathtaking! Overall, we had a lovely and relaxing experience and would definitely love to come back again

Our stay at Misty Paradise of Lake Gregory was truly unforgettable, largely thanks to the incredible hospitality we received. From the moment we arrived, the host was exceptionally kind, generous and attentive. He went out of his way to make us feel at home, even taking the time to personally give us a tour around the hotel and share more about the property.The location itself is spectacular. Being right on the edge of the lake meant the views were beautiful. A real highlight of our trip was just sitting back and watching the mist gracefully move across the water, it was an incredibly scenic experience.To top it all off, the food was absolutely delicious. The team went above and beyond by putting together a special customized arrangement for our breakfast, which was such a thoughtful touch. We deeply appreciated how well we were looked after.

Id have to write an entire short story to describe my experience. First off, when I made the booking, I simple wanted some place near Lake Gregory. However things changed when I got there. What greeted my eyes was something far greater than what was advertised. The view from my room's balcony was so great, that I simple cancelled my plans to go out and decided to spend the entire day at the room. I sat out on the balcony, with cups of tea, a plate of devilled chicken (many thanks to the chef for prepping at a moment's notice), and Tagore's Naoukadoubi on my iPad. Looking up from time to time to to glance at the llake, speed boats and jet skis rushing by, people enjoying strolls, vehicles taking the winding roads. Funnily enough, in the book Annada Babu was describing how good the up country atmosphere was for one's soul, and here I was, at a literal Misty Paradise treating my soul to a cleansing of a lifetime. Speaking of mist, it comes and goes, so does the chilly yet comforting wind. I didn't wear a blazer like most in Nuwara Eliya do. This chill from heaven should be felt by one's bare skin. When the sun when down, and lights on the lake went on, it was a whole different vista in front of my eyes. I wanted to stay up through the night, but the hot meal Ive had simply put me to sleep. (Thank you, chef :-)) Due to the closes proximity I walked over to and around the lake early next morning. And was surprised by a sizziling breakfast spread. To top everything, I took a walk into the property's garden right before I left. I realised i had been so preoccupied by the lake yesterday that i had totally missed out on the nearby river and tiny rapids. While spending a few more minutes simply warching the water flow, the smell of vegetables crept into my nose. That was when I knew my Nuwara Eliya visit was complete.

My weekend wasn't long enough. :-)

The owner was incredibly friendly and treated us just like his own family, which made our stay feel extra special. 🥹 The staff were equally lovely—always friendly, welcoming, and greeting us with a smile. 😊 And the food… absolutely delicious! 🤤 Every meal was full of flavour and definitely worth the money. But the highlight has to be the panoramic view of Lake Gregory. 🌿🏞️ The scenery was simply breathtaking, and waking up to that view was unforgettable. Overall, this was such a wonderful experience, and I genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Nulla me ne sono andata via dopo la prima notte

Hotel per gente del posto non per stranieri. Arriviamo in questo hotel dove ci sono dei lavori in corso, praticamente un cantiere dove accendevano anche un falò e dal fumo non si poteva aprire la finestra del balcone. Tutto il mobilio vecchio e che sa' di muffa e muffa ovunque sulle pareti. Asciugamani bagnati, ne chiediamo due asciutti e c'è ne danno altri due sempre bagnati, ci rinunciamo. Doccia fredda perché la ragazza che ci porta in camera che parla pochissimo inglese non ci dice come funziona e non ci accende il boiler. Altri clienti dello srylanka con musica a palla per più di due ore che si sentiva in tutto l'hotel. Al check in se così si può chiamare non ci hanno neanche chiesto il passaporto e gliel'ho chiesto ben tre volte. La colazione la peggior cosa: ci sediamo in un tavolino vicino alla parete piena di ragnatele e ragni, la ragazza non ci parla e non ci chiede nulla e dopo più di 15 minuti arriva un succo di frutta annacquato, due salsicce e due fettine minuscole di omelette, marmellata burro e del pane dei toast che hanno schiacciato nella macchinetta x fare i waffles, ripeto schiacciato arrivato freddo e durissimo immangiabile, non mangiamo nulla, chiediamo un frutto e non lo hanno chiediamo un the ed un caffè che non ci arriva e nel frattempo mi faccio chiamare al telefono il proprietario perché dal giorno prima non si è mai visto e non puoi lasciare soli i tuoi dipendenti che non sanno parlare inglese e non sanno gestire il lavoro!!!! La cosa peggiore è che alla colazione alla gente del posto hanno praticamente portato un pranzo, ho chiesto perché a loro quel trattamento è a noi no? La ragazza dice che loro mangiano vegetariano, e perché non chiedi nulla a noi??!!?? Poteva piacere anche a noi!!!! Le recensioni positive sono solo di gente dello srylanka, se sei straniero evita questo hotel come la peste!!!! Dimenticavo di dire che non siamo riusciti a dormire letto scomodissimo e camera con bacarozzi

We have selected for a normal room but we have got a premium room which was a complementary gift from Mr. Subash chandra boss. He was very kind and very nice. We have got very delicious food prepared by him as well.

The. Rooms were big and even got a dining space for outselves. The food was mostly Sri Lankan cuisine. I would give 100% for the location. We could see misty lake, mountains from our room. The staff were kind and helpful

Sehr schönes und sauberes Zimmer, ausgestattet mit warmer Decke, Kuscheldecke sowie einem Wasserkocher mit Tee und Kaffee. Der Aufenthaltsraum ist groß, gemütlich und verfügt über eine Küche und ein Sofa. Das Frühstück war sehr abwechslungsreich und lecker. Auch das Personal war ausgesprochen freundlich und hat uns viele hilfreiche Tipps für die weitere Reise gegeben und sogar einiges für uns organisiert (Tuktuk-Trip durch die Stadt, nächste Unterkunft).

La habitación y el baño bastante amplios y bien equipados. El desayuno bastante abundante y el personal muy agradable, nos ayudaron para encontrar un tuktuk y nos dieron una manta gordita para por la noche porque hacía frío.

La cocina que comparten las habitaciones no está equipada ni con cubiertos, deberían poner platos y cubiertos por lo menos. Por la mañana se había ido la luz y pusieron un generador eléctrico en la recepción que podría haber sido peligroso por el gas que soltaba

Everything was perfect! The staff were friendly, the room was clean and cozy, food is definitely delicious and the view was stunning. The owner, Dr. Shubash, treated us like his own daughters, we’re both female and first-time travelers in Nuwara Eliya. He even arranged a tuk-tuk driver to show us around at a fair price and called us from time to time during our trip to make sure we were safe and enjoying ourselves. Such genuine kindness and care, definitely worth the stay! 🤍✨

The place was really lacking some hygiene. The bedsheets had a few dead bugs in it and the bathroom didn't look like it was cleaned (hair on the sink, half used shampoo)

Location, host, hospitality, cleanliness and everything about the stay was amazing. Rooms have a shared common area which is great for a couple and has an amazing view overlooking both the lakes and mountains. 10 min away from ashok vatika temple

Velmi příjemná paní majitelka i ostatní personál, pohodlný čistý hotel, pěkné umístění, dobrá snídaně. Přijeli jsme za deště a paní majitelka nás ubytovala ve větším pokoji, protože náš ještě nebyl připraven, za což jsme jí byli opravdu vděčni.

Stolek pod televizí by zasloužil utřít, ale vše ostatní bylo krásně čisté.

We feel like we are at home ! They care for customers, and make everything they need ! The staff and the owner are really nice ! Great room with big bed ! The best view we can have on Lake Gregory and other famous viewpoints ! Very close to the lake, 3 min by walking !

Breakfast is good. We check-in to the hotel with the heavy raining at round 6.30 pm. They serve us a coffee. That is the best I ever had my life.

Bathroom should be more clean. As well as balcony. Bathroom door is not working properly. There was some blood mark in side the door. Bathroom floor wet and there was a huge water. Drainage not working properly.Balcony is very dirty. Balcony door is not working properly. Cold wind came to the room through that door. One of the staff member ask us to leave at 10.00 am. But checkout time was 11.00 while we made the booking.

The cleanliness was very poor. The blanket in the room was unhygienic, extremely dirty, and had a bad odor — it was unclear when it was last washed. Additionally, the staff seemed to prioritize and focus more on white guests and foreigners, which was disappointing. It's worth noting that we never tried to cook in the room, as we had our dinner elsewhere. Given these issues, I absolutely do not recommend this place.

We had an absolutely delightful stay at this hotel. The view from the balcony was truly breathtaking. Waking up to the serene sight of Gregory Lake felt almost heavenly. The owner was exceptionally attentive, ensuring every detail of our experience was thoughtfully managed with genuine hospitality. The host took personal care and ensured a comfortable stay. We had an early morning train. They arranged a meal and dropped us off at the station. They even suggested places to visit and we opted for the tuk tuk. The chef, tuk tuk driver, owner and the manager all took great care of us. Highly recommend.
