Le petit déjeuner était simple et correct (Oeufs , saucisse et pain grillé avec fromage et salade de fruits frais et petits fruits confits. Des céréales, confitures et yogourt et barres granola sont mis à notre disposition. L'accueil et l'hospitalité du personnel.
La climatisation de la chambre plus ou moins adéquate. La douche dans la salle de bain, dans un bain sur pattes, mais correspond à la configuration de la pièce.

Very convenient for walking into town (perhaps 500 feet to the main commercial pedestrian-friendly road with restaurants and shops). Quiet location (not on a main road) and good off-street parking. Community room (piano, couches, etc.) and outdoor areas for sitting if you want to mingle with other guests or spend quiet time outside your room.
Bath towels could be better.

Reviewed Aug 5, 2026This is a charming B & B. Lyn and Eric are wonderful hosts who gave us a very warm welcome and some pointers on what to do in town. Our spacious room was on the first floor had a very comfortable bed and large bathroom. We had a terrace off our room so were able to enjoy the lovely garden outside. Lyn cooked a delicious breakfast of Turkish eggs and there was plenty of cereal, yogurt etc. so you won't leave hungry. We heartily recommend this lovely B & B and the town of Magog was also a lovely surprise with lots to do and see.

Because we booked all the rooms, she invited us to use the living room to gather. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Thank you!
My friends said that opening the window with a breeze blowing through helped them sleep better. The AC was a little noisy, but these really were less complaints than comments. The neighborhood's very quiet.

One side of one of the beds was less comfortable - we informed our hosts who appreciated the feedback. The air conditioner in one room wasn’t terribly effective. Both issues were minor niggles and we would definitely stay here again!

Reviewed Jul 25, 2026Hôtes adorables pour nous accueillir et offrir un petit déjeuner soigné, varié. Ils sont prompts à nous aider ou nous proposer divers services. La literie est très confortable, la douche agréable. L'endroit est très calme. Le gîte est très bien situé et rejoindre le centre à pieds est aisé d'autant que tout le stationnement dans le centre est payant. Une place de stationnement privé est mise à disposition, ce qui est un plus.
L'établissement est très rustique, meublé d'antiquités et décoré de bibelots anciens, cela peut nuire à l'espace dans les chambres un peu chargée (en tout cas pour la chambre "Authentique"). L'espace sanitaire est un peu juste (lavabo dans la chambre), des patères pour les serviettes/vêtements et des étagères libres, côté douche seraient utiles . Un meilleur éclairage serait également apprécié.

Fromages de la région, salade de fruits frais, tout préparer sur place. Attention particulière, la tasse même du café était chaude. Tout était délicieux. Hôtesse très attentionnée, Son mari très facile d'approche et concert privé des enfants, piano et violon, je me suis sentie spéciale. Chambre avec AC, très apprécié quand il fait 37 degrés avec l'humidex. Jai profité de la balançoire en écoutant la cascade d'eau et visite d'un petit suisse. Merci à cette belle famille.

The location of L’Ancestrale BnB was perfect for walking into town and down to the lake. The area was lovely to drive around, and we particularly liked Hatley North.
As 2 older single travellers, we would have appreciated a bigger second bed with appropriate bedding to match. The ground floor room we were allocated would certainly be big enough for this more comfortable addition.
