Problems started at check-in. The front desk attendant took some time to locate my reservation, and when she finally did, she told us that nothing had been paid in advance—despite the fact that everything had been paid in advance. When we tried to confirm whether the room was the correct type, she had to ask her colleague. The room itself was not bad, but the corridors smelled strongly of fresh paint, possibly due to a recent flood. We could still see signs of damage in some areas. Cleanliness was below expectations, particularly in the bathroom, which didn’t have a proper shower enclosure—just a curtain. In fact, we were given an accessible room, even though none of us have a disability. The worst part of our stay happened when my wife went to the front desk to ask for a roll of toilet paper and a bar of soap (which, by the way, was a miniature). The receptionist was extremely rude and started questioning why we needed them—implying we might be trying to sell them. That’s completely ridiculous and offensive. Perhaps the issue was with the two girls working on September 27th, as the other staff members seemed fine. Breakfast was also disappointing. Only one person was cleaning tables and refilling food, and she clearly couldn't keep up with the number of guests. I honestly can’t believe this hotel has such a high score, especially when compared to other places I’ve stayed with the same rating.

Comfortable stay, communication with staff not always easy but they were nice. About 13 minute walk to main part of town which got a little old when I would have loved a nearby restaurant to grab a bite. But overall I was very happy with the hotel.

Flotte og komfortable leiligheter i nytt og moderne bygg. Parkeringsgarasje i kjelleren, som var veldig praktisk. Gangavstand til alt man ønsker å se i Aix. Vi hadde ikke frokost på hotellet, men det så fint ut dersom man ønsker det.

I would have given 5 stars except for a weird little interaction right at the end, when I asked the person at reception for a scissor to cut the tag off a shirt I’d just bought. He said we don’t have scissors at reception. No “let me ask my supervisor” or “maybe there’s one in the office right behind me.” Just basically “no” and no effort. Otherwise, clean, close to the train station but quiet, nicely equipped kitchen which I didn’t use bc it was a short stay, all positives.

A/C in the room worked well. Otherwise it was fairly basic. Felt more like a dorm than a hotel. A bit far to walk for good dining options.

This hotel says it has parking on site, but they don't take reservations and it fills up quickly, leaving most of our group with no place to park at the hotel. It was a bit of a hassle. There's also not really a convenient loading area, either. They service the rooms only once every 3 days, so 1 serving of coffee for 2 people was inadequate from the start. The first day i asked a housekeeper in the hallway got more coffee, but she said to ask reception. The second day I asked a housekeeper in the hall and she gave me more coffee. However other members of our group were told they couldn't have more coffee because they didn't check some box, we have no idea what. I also ran out of toilet paper my last night and had to use the facial tissue...

Modern, new hotel, good facilities and not far from the centre of Aix. The parking was fully booked but is wasn't too hard to find a space in a nearby side-street. There are not many shops/bakeries etc. near the hotel so you will need to walk into the centre to get a coffee/croissant, about 10 minutes.

We did not know that you could absolutely not get your room cleaned unless you stay a week. We were there three nights and all of our trash cans were overflowing. We had to get clean towels by switching out our dirty ones at the reception. Also there was no soap in the room. Every day we had to ask for a tiny bar of soap that was good for one shower. Pillows were bad. We bought our own pillows in town. Location was good. Short walk to the main area of town.

Great hotel walking distance to the city centre

Die Lage ist perfekt, Bahnhofsnähe, Supermärkte und regionale Märkte ca. 700 m. Hotel ist sauber und ordentlich. Negativ: Kein Willkommens-Geschenk trotz ca. 20 Übernachtungen im Jahr. Alarmanlage geht bei jedem Aufenthalt mind.1 mal an, auch nachts. Vermutlich wird trotz Rauchverbot in den Zimmern geraucht.

Our experience here overall was good and we felt it provided good value for money. The hotel room included a mini-fridge and a microwave and a good-sized bathroom.The hotel is convenient to a lot of central Aix. However, the parking (even in the underground garage) is limited and cannot be reserved in advance. We ended up parking at the La Rotonde parking garage -- about a 10-minute walk from the hotel. Food options close to the hotel seemed limited.

Positiv: zentral gelegen, wenn man will ist zu Fuß alles erreichbar, relativ ruhig gelegen (Bahngleise nebenan, jedoch bei geschlossenen Fenstern nicht hörbar), geräumige Zimmer, Kitchenette, im Keller Waschmaschinen und Trockner 24/7 gegen Gebühr verwendbar, Personal war höflich und hilfsbereit. Negativ: Belüftung der Kitchenette war durchweg hörbar, obwohl die Kitchenette nicht verwendet wurde (Lüftung wurde von der Haustechnik für mich stillgelegt), Sauberkeit war nur an den offensichtlichen Stellen gewährleistet (Staub war an vielen Stellen in mehreren Schichten liegen gelassen), Frühstücksbuffet war für Allergiker sehr überschaubar (glutenfreie Brötchen und Minimuffins, Mandelmilch, keine Margarine). Der Kaffeeautomat hatte die ganze Woche meines Aufenthaltes eine angetrocknete Milchschliere aus seinem Auslass hängen und das Tastenbedienfeld an einer Stelle einen Fingerabdruck ebenso lang. Résumé: Appartementhotel gut gelegen, Hygiene und Sauberkeit mit Luft nach oben.

Rooms are beautifully styled with natural light, sheer curtains and nice lighting. Bed was a bit hard, duvet was a bit hot, and the pillows were a bit squishy, but overall a nice place to stay.

Sober maar schoon en goed verzorgd hotel. Prima bedden en zeer stil. Op 10 minuten loopafstand van het centrum. Prima ontbijtbuffet maar was niet in de prijs inbegrepen. Parkeergarage a 15€/dag ook niet inbegrepen. Tot twee keer toe vals brandalarm gehad.

Place lovely. Reception young woman a little bad tempered and borderline rude. Claimed garage door not working was our issues despite us having followed all instructions. Other staff lovely, friendly and helpful.

I was pleased with the well-equipped kitchen and other facilities. The staff were all very kind and helpful. I understood that the sheets would be changed every five days and the room would not be cleaned, but I was not informed that I would have to request towel changes. I was also unsure about how to dispose of garbage.

I spent 3 nights at the Originals while attending a meeting at the adjacent Aix Marseille Université (which is a 1-minute walk away). The Originals is fairly new and so the facilities are in top condition. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast (which is an additional charge) is good and plentiful. The rooms are small by south-France standards but otherwise adequate. The location is very convenient to the university but on the fringe of the downtown area. It is a 10-15 minute walk to the bus and train station and restaurants. Rooms have small kitchenettes and so for longer stays you might want to visit a market, the closest is a 10-15 minute walk. If you are a jogger, the primary option is on the streets/sidewalks, although there is a large park about 1 km away. Be warned that housekeeping is not daily, and may be as long as 3-5 days between housekeeping visits. If you want more frequent housekeeping, there is an additional charge.

Fräscht hotell med kitchenette så vi kunde kyla mat och dryck. Trevlig personal vid incheckningen. Vid utcheckningen var kvinna lagom dryg och otrevlig. Bra läge. Sköna sängar. Bra med tvättmöjlighet!

Trash can is small and have to dispose by ourselves since we use the kitchenette to consume take outs. There is a bus route near the hotel if you prefer not to walk every time.

Zimmer relativ klein, Küchenausstattung gut, Frühstück ausgezeichnet inkl. frischem Obst und griechischem Joghurt in 2 Fettstufen aus dem Spenderapparat. Hotel unweit von Busbahnhof und Bahnhof (ca 8-10Min zu Fuß), in die Altstadt ebenso. Google zeigt in die Altstadt auch einen Weg durch einen kleinen Park an, der direkt, etwas versteckt, links vom Hotel über eine Treppe nach oben, in den Park führt, dann weiter zum Cours Mirabeau.

What a nightmare! We arrived at 9pm and didn’t get into a room until 10:30. No driveway, and the parking garage was blocked by four full-sized fire trucks—nowhere to go. We parked on the street with hazards and walked into total chaos: people in pajamas, dogs, crying babies, and one elderly woman yelling and trying to cut what was supposed to be a line. After 45 minutes, I finally get to speak to someone at front desk… only to be told their system is down and I’m treated like I’m the problem. They charge me for parking and a minor city fee, but their card machines are down. One staffer asks if I’ll pay in the morning (duh, I’m checking out then), but another guy (wearing a graffiti-print t-shirt, not a uniform or name tag) says they can’t trust me and asks me to leave my car title as collateral. You can’t make this up. Finally, I get a key, only to find it’s the wrong room and reeks of urine. After another trip to the lobby, I get reassigned, grab my things (with no help), and head to the new room… only for Graffiti Tee to stop me and say that room’s also wrong. Third room finally works… barely. Clogged sink, hairs in the shower, dirty towel, and a blood-stained pillow. Not exaggerating. The fire? Not their fault. But everything else? Rude, disorganized, and completely lacking basic hospitality or professionalism—especially during a crisis. Never again. Missed dinner because by the time we were in our room, everything was closed.

El hotel está muy cerca del centro de la ciudad en una ubicación muy conveniente! Es seguro, muy cómodo, limpio y bonito. Únicamente el último día solo había agua caliente y no había agua fría. Pero fue una situación de un momento. Por lo demás lo recomiendo y volvería.

The hotel was ok for the price considering all other hotels were very pricey. Good enough for 1 night. The parking garage was full we had to park in the street. The staff was nice enough but not helpful to suggest things in the area or solutions to the parking. If you are just passing through Aix like we were then it’s good enough.

Séjour de 4 nuits pour les affaires. Hôtel idéalement situé sauf pour les fêtes étudiantes du jeudi soir. Accueil global bien mais dépend des personnes qui y sont. Service OK même s’il a fallu que je demande à changer de chambre pour raison sanitaire.

Hotel récent, à proximité du centre-ville. A 105 euro la nuit j’estime que le ménage pourrait être fait tous les jours. Si vous passez moins de 5 nuits pas de menage et au-delà de 5 nuits c’est 1 fois par semaine. Le petit-déjeuner est hors de prix, plus de 16€!

Great location, very comfortable hotel.

The places bad if you drive in, do not explain rules, may be they can not speak English well enough explain. However they charged me of city tax when I was check in and when we about check out they try charge me again. They change the room and did not recorded on there record.

The hotel is new and clean and in a quiet area, just 6 mins walk from the train station. The staff at the reception are friendly and helpful. It would have been great to have 1-2 cooking utensils eg ladle.

Nous avons été très bien accueillis à notre arrivée, ce qui a été très appréciable. Le séjour a été globalement agréable : le matelas était confortable et nous avons bien dormi. Quelques améliorations seraient les bienvenues, notamment sur la propreté et les remontées d’odeur dans la salle de bain. Le petit déjeuner était correct, même si les pains au chocolat étaient un peu trop cuits et le café manquait de goût. Merci encore pour l’accueil chaleureux

C’est un appart hôtel fonctionnel bien agencé sans être très grand. Le minimum y est ! Pour 4 nuits, 2 sachets de thé seulement et quand je demande à la réception si je peux en avoir 2 autres on me répond non car c’est le package d’accueil. Si on en veut plus c’est à nous d’aller en acheter. Pour le prix c’est un peu excessif. Également tous le mails sont en anglais ! J’ai écrit moi même 2 mails pour avoir des infos, aucune réponse !! Dommage.

There was a very apparent foul smell coming from the bathroom and our beds had blood stains on the sheets. When we mentioned the stains and asked for a room change, the reception only offered to change our sheets which we accepted because there were no other options. The bed still felt dirty and the smell kept us up all night. Terrible experience

Very friendly receptionists who were always there to help. Accommodated early check in and rented an umbrella for unexpected shower. Facility was very clean and pleasant. Only thing was the distance from the bus station and city center, of course still walkable and good deal for the price!

Ici pour une nuit, l’hôtel était convenable sans être exceptionnel. Le service est correct, le petit-déjeuner très bien mais assez déçue de la chambre : le descriptif parlait d’insonorisation alors qu’on entendait clairement tout ce qu’il se passait dehors et dans les autres chambres, le descriptif parlait également d’une literie confortable, résultat 1 seul oreiller et un lit dont on ressent les ressorts… niveau propreté rien à redire à part les murs qui présentaient de nombreuses taches pas très ragoûtantes… On s’attend à mieux pour un tel budget mais l’ensemble reste correct.

Stayed here twice in a two week period - the rooms we had are small, but if all you're doing is sleeping, it doesn't really matter. Staff welcoming and helpful, parking is easy (below the hotel). No issues at all.

Everything newly decorated and well designed. So happy I could open the window wide in my room. Liked the heated towel rack in bathroom. Friendly staff at reception. Actually I’d have liked something in the lobby area like book exchange/ coffee making facility/coffee & snacks machine or even free coffee available to make it a communal place to chill out in.

Deixo minha reclamação pelo valor de € 100 que foi depositado como caução e após 4 dias ainda não foi devolvido. Já mandei mensagem para o hotel duas vezes e ninguém me responde.

This was a nice hotel. It's actually more of a business hotel than a tourist hotel. The hotel was clean, well appointed. The staff was incredibly pleasant and kind. It is located adjacent to the university., Which was surprisingly quiet in the evenings. Hotel is also located close enough, approximately 1 mile, to the main center of Aix.

They gave us someone else's room initially. We walked into the room to discover the other guest's things still inside! The front desk staff was apologetic, but the experience made us feel uncomfortable for the rest of our stay. Also, the bathroom in the (correct) room had a strange smell. If you need fresh towels you need to request them, as they don't change them at all during any stay under 5 days. Similarly there is a 10€ fee for having the room cleaned if your stay is under the 5 days. Honestly, I wouldn't bother with this hotel. I'd suggest going for one of the many other options in the area.

The location is very good. Parking in Aix en Provence is confusing and the desk staff was so helpful to this confused tourist. Very good breakfast buffet - well worth the 16 euro cost.

Hotel is close to train station. It is a bit out of the old town, about 15mins walk, with no food/shop options close. Room was spacious with kitchenette, was clean but not cleaned during stay (expected but just fyi as is extra). Fire alarm went off first evening but when down at reception they said wasn’t an issue and can return to room.
