The Editory Garden Porto Hotel

Bij aankomst ontvangen met een drankje en hapje: zo ontzettend gastvrij. We voelden ons direct thuis. Mooie ruime kamer, prima bed en badkamer en heel vriendelijk personeel.

Wij slapen altijd graag met een raampje open. Dat was er helaas niet. We hebben ervoor gekozen de buitendeur op een kier te laten 's nachts. ( we hadden een kamer op de begane grond,dus binnen wel een tas achter gezet😊)

What stands out about this hotel is the big, beautiful patio, where you can have your breakfast. For a rather corporate hotel it looks pretty nice and the rooms are definitely alright for the price. The staff is super kind and the breakfast absolutely solid.

For the more charming parts of Porto you have to expect a 15-20 minutes walk - for all on the way back when things go up the hill. You won't find any nice bars and restaurants close to the hotel. It's not that bad, but just keep in mind you'll need to walk a bit.

Comfortable beds, clean facilities, friendly staff and nice welcome on arrival at 2am

A written breakfast menu should be available on the tables as not clear what could be ordered.

The property was beautifully set up. The plus of it all was the very friendly staff. A truly great team!

The only downside of it was the lack of additional shelf in the shower space.

The room was a great size and evry comfortable! Had everything we needed. The staff were lovely and very helpful and gave great recommendations. The restaurant was really nice although we only visited for drinks so cannot comment on food but smelt amazing.

The hotel was amazing it was perfect for a decent rest a good shower and getting ready for dinner

For me personally the breakfast was a bit meh great selection of cereals and drinks (mimosa included) however for me I’m not an egg person so if there was any other options in the breakfast hot menu such as pancakes or sausages in a roll

Very well located hotel to explore the city, nice room, comfortable and clean, very nice staff always willing to help you and make our stay enjoyable. Lovely garden as well to enjoy our breakfast or a drink

The air conditioner stopped working one night but the maintenance team fixed it a few hours after we reported it to the staff.

Great location easy to reach everything yet a nice quiet street. Charming Catarina and Rafaela (trainee) went over and above to help us. Our talented waiter at our delicious tasting dinner was just great, as was his sweet colleague, from Ivory Coast, sorry forget his name but he poured a great Gin and soda! The breakfast folk were very friendly and accommodating too. Our room had everything we needed and the ambiance of the hotel was very relaxing and attractive.

We changed rooms due to a running toilet but was no big deal.

Willkommen! Wir wurden sehr nett empfangen. Das Zimmer verfügte über die nötige Ausstattung und war geräumig, die Betten bequem. Wir waren mit der Lage sehr zufrieden: ruhig und fußläufig zum Zentrum. Das Parken war unkompliziert. Wir können die Unterkunft weiterempfehlen.

La ubicación está muy alejada de la Ribera. Está cerca del metro Trindade y cerca de Vía Caterina.

Me ha gustado todo, las instalaciones , la cafetería , el patio con muchas plantas muy relajante. La amabilidad del personal y el desayuno muy variado , bueno y de calidad. Mucho silencio para descansar.

Por decir algo las almohadas no son muy anatomicas.

La botella de agua de cortesía me la pusieron el último día??... Te ofrecen para hacer un café y no reponen...a veces si estás en la habitación te apetece tomar uno,sin salir de la habitación...en otros hoteles de esta categoría te lo ofrecen.No cambian a diario las toallas,estaban húmedas cuando volvías a la habitación...al no tener colgadores amplios para secarse. Falta de perchas ..menos mal que suelo llevar 4 mías para suplir carencias,en un hotel 4 estrellas.

The room was very comfortable and front desk staff were very helpful. Night staff also came outside to see me into my taxi at 3am which was a nice touch as a solo female traveller.

The tap doesn’t really run cold so not possible to get cold water unless you ask for ice downstairs. I was also not given any body towels - after housekeeping cleaned my room nothing was restocked (tea, coffee, milk). Nor were I then provided towels. I had to ask for these again.

Hotel is lovely in terms of decor and has potential to be fantastic. Just lacks some cleanliness on the terrace which was covered with bird poo.

Check in process was a long wait - 1hr 10 mins after arrival we got checked into our room due to a maintenance issue we were not told about.

We could not find anything we liked in this hotel, perhaps the cleaning service was a he only good

We experienced very inconsistent service during our stay. Many of the reception staff did not speak English, making it extremely difficult to communicate or even order food. The restaurant experience was particularly disappointing. On several occasions we were told there were no children’s options available and that they couldn’t even prepare a simple bowl of plain cooked pasta. Another day we were told the entire hotel had run out of both rice and salad, so they couldn’t make a basic meal. On a different occasion, they agreed to cook chicken and pasta for my child but refused to prepare the same meal for me, saying they didn’t have enough ingredients. When the food arrived, the chicken was dry and overcooked. Staff also frequently forgot parts of our orders. For example, we were offered bread and butter with lunch, but it only arrived after we had already finished eating. The breakfast buffet was equally disappointing. There was consistently not enough food available, and we repeatedly had to ask for basic items. The scrambled eggs left in the serving dish were usually dry and there wasn’t enough for everyone, so we had to request a fresh batch. The cucumber slices were often dried out, tomatoes were unavailable unless we specifically asked for them, and there were only a few slices of cheese and ham, which were rarely replenished unless guests requested them. Overall, the service lacked consistency, organisation, and attention to guests. While some staff members tried to help, the overall experience fell well below the standard we would expect from a hotel of this category. I want to add that the housekeeping staff were kind, hardworking, and took good care of us. They were one of the highlights of our stay. Unfortunately, the overall standard of the hotel, particularly the management, restaurant service, food organisation, and maintenance, did not justify either the four-star rating or the price we paid.

This is actually the best hotel I've ever stayed at! The staff is so nice and if you have questions they will answer everything politely. The hotel was so clean and they cleaned our room everyday. We stayed here for a whole week and our room was just a dream. Great! You also get free water everyday and can watch TV.

The uphill way to the hotel after a long day (we were mostly walking) was always a bit annoying but this is not at all the hotels fault. Honestly I do not have anything to complain about at all!

It is quick to find, the staff was very welcoming and it was close to everything. Highly recommend

That they charge for parking. If the hotel has a private parking then I don’t think they should charge for guests because they are already paying for it.

The staff were brilliant with a special mention for Manuel on reception who was a mine of information. The garden was also brilliant relaxing for a drink,a meal or just to read a book.

There was only one thing they kept moving the bar and restaurant from this hotel to the adjoining one. Which was an old art school. Nice place but not as nice as the garden.

Sink had a leak, but it got fixed on first day. Also, smell of sewage in the room at 10AM every morning, but not a problem.

Schöne Anlage mit Garten. Zimmer hell und freundlich. Die Dusche sehr gross. Der Empfang sehr freundlich und die meisten Angestellten auch offen und zuvorkommend.

Die Einrichtung zum Kleider aufhängen ist minimal. Schade kann man die air condition nicht selber regulieren. Im Frühstücksraum eher zuviel kühle Zugluft.

Such a beautiful hotel, with lovely peaceful garden and bedrooms. Great location close to the centre and breakfast was very tasty and varied. The staff were wonderful and I couldn't have wanted for more.

The hotel is in the perfect location for a short walk into the main tourist centre . The hotel was very good in all aspects. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Manuel on the front desk went above and beyond.to help us get the best out of our 3 day visit. We would recommend this hotel

I returned to the hotel early evening planning to have a drink and sit in the garden but discovered there was no bar open.

Spacious comfortable artistic room. We were upgraded to the artistic room section of the hotel and it was very nice. Location is convenient in walking distance to Rio Douro and bridges and restaurants. Staff friendly responsive to requests

Amazing hotel with excellent staff

La chambre était propre et confortable. Les équipements modernes et pratique. Un accueil très attentionné et aux petits soins de la part du réceptionniste. Le petit déjeuner est très bon. L’accès avec le parking très pratique. Enfin, si on est prêt à marcher un petit peu, l’emplacement est top.

Le seul point négatif, s’il faut en trouver un, c’est le manque de pression de l’eau dans le lavabo, ainsi que dans la douche de la salle de bain

The hotel is very modern and clean. The green area is amazing for chilling and reading a book. You can also have some drinks during happy hour. The bedroom was super comfortable and quiet.

The good points were the location, the garden area and a fabulous powerful shower. The front-desk staff were all really helpful.

There was a lack of consistency in various areas - service, the rules for happy hour drinks, whether or not coffee and tea bags i room were replenished. A lot of this probably reflected the fact many of the staff were trainees from the hospitality school next door - the hotel should make a virtue of this and advertise it; guests would be much more understanding and keen to help the students learn.

Modern hotel. Slightly outside of the city centre but conveniently located. The car park was extremely secure.

Hotel precioso y muy seguro, ya que solo se puede acceder tanto al interior como a las habitaciones mediante la tarjeta de la habitación. El personal fue encantador desde nuestra llegada, incluso nos acompañaron hasta la habitación tras hacer el check in. Mientras realizábamos el registro nos ofrecieron unos pasteles de nata riquísimos, todo un detalle típico de Oporto que nos encantó. La limpieza impecable en todas las instalaciones. El parking es de pago (20€ por noche), pero merece la pena por la comodidad, ya que accedes directamente al interior del hotel mediante ascensor. Sin duda, una experiencia muy agradable y recomendable.

La entrada al parking es un poquito complicada si tienes un coche grande, aunque el personal te avisa previamente y está pendiente para ayudarte si lo necesitas.

Le personnel n'était vraiment pas présent ni sympathique. Pas de bonjour quand nous rentrions à l'hôtel. L'accueil est vraiment à revoir même lors de la remise des clefs. Le petit déjeuner était identique chaque jour. Pourquoi ne pas changer les gâteaux cuisinés par exemple ?? Ôn nous avait mis dans une chambre où une machine faisant un bruit énorme et constant était juste à côté. Pour le prix que nous avions payé, c'était vraiment minable.
