Authentiek hotel, kleinschalig, vriendelijke ontvangst, mooie en rustige binnentuin. Overal zeer schoon. Goed ontbijt.

Separate bedden, krakend bed. Douche gedateerd.

Delicious and fresh breakfast each morning. Nice pool. Clean towels each day. Beautiful location. Hostess was very sweet.

Swing on the lawn needs cleaned - full of spiders.

Das hochgelobte Frühstück ist in Ordnung, es gab fast alles, was wir benötigten. Für den Preis insgesamt würde ich mir dennoch mehr Auswahl erwarten, wie z.B. Lachs und etwas mehr Obst. Positiv ist die Lage der Frühstücksterrasse. Hervorzuheben ist die Sauberkeit, die Reinigungskräfte machen einen tollen Job.

Die Unterkunft, zumindest im Gartenhaus, ist nichts für Langschläfer. Entweder lässt der Bauer vom gegenüberliegendem Feld um 6.30 seinen Trekker laufen (im Leerlauf des Traktors entsteht eine sehr unangenehme, laute Resonanz, die im Gebäude zu einem lauten Dröhnen führt) oder der Rasen auf dem Grundstück wird früh gemäht oder es fahren laute Motorräder durch die Straßen oder die Buslinien, die durch beide angrenzenden Straßen fahren, sorgen dafür, dass man sehr früh aufwacht. Ich konnte keinen einzigen Tag länger als 6.40 Uhr schlafen und war sehr froh, als wir zur nächsten Unterkunft abreisten. Zudem ist das Haus für den gebotenen Standard viel zu teuer. Abblätternder Putz und alte Möbel rechtfertigen keine 185 Euro pro Nacht. Was wirklich fehlt, ist ein Angebot auch abends einen Wein oder ein Bier trinken zu können, die Bar ist dann nämlich leider zu. Auch die Zimmer laden leider nicht zum gemütlichen Sitzen ein.

Slechte koffie en een matige kwaliteit ontbijt. Matras maakte dat het bed steeds wiebelde als je bewoog.

Prachtige omgeving, gezellige en schone kamer en vriendelijk personeel. Daarnaast ook goede faciliteiten, zoals een zwembad en pooltafel. Het ontbijt is ook zeker aan te raden.

L’endroit est juste incroyable et la bâtisse historique est magnifique avec ce très beau rose et la végétation environnante. Belle piscine pour profiter de la fin de journée. On a adoré le petit déjeuner en terrasse face au jardin.

Le rapport qualité-prix avec un tarif très élevé, mais on est en haute saison…

Mooi gelegen. Mooie ontbijtplek buiten. Zwembad was ok. Natuurbad in de zee in het doro was super. Vriendelijke mensen.Er is een leuk restaurant aan de zee. Dr is ook een kleine winkel in de buurt.

Te veel lawaai in onze kamer. Lag aan de voordeur en smorgens vroeg vertrokken mensen met veel lawaai. Deur maakt veel lawaai.

Belle chambre , très bel hôtel dans son jus d ancienne demeure. Piscine agréable et pas petite, on peut nager dans un coin protégé du jardin.

Le bruit de la route de notre chambre et le carillon du village qui sonne à partir de 4h du matin. Ces deux facteurs ont gâché mes nuits . D autant que la climatisation est pas top, alors nous dormions fenêtres ouvertes. Nous avions probablement la plus mauvaise chambre à côté de la route, les autres sont certainement plus calmes. Pain du petit déjeuner pas terrible.

Wir hatten die Queen Suite.. der Blick und die Ausstattung so wie auf den Fotos dargestellt.. toll.. einzig das Bett war für zwei Personen etwas kuschelig😉 .. aber ansonsten traumhaft und idyllisch.. ruhige Lage ( die oft angegebene Straße hat uns nicht gestört), wunderschönes Vogelgezwitscher, der Garten einfach nur um zur Ruhe zu kommen, tolles kleines Schwimmbecken .. rundum um sich wohl zu fühlen..

Die in manchen Bewertungen angesprochene kleine Bar gab es leider nicht bzw. war während unseres Aufenthaltes nicht besetzt.. angesichts der spärlichen Restaurants im Ort wäre dies perfekt gewesen.

Nice location! Peaceful and quiet.

The breakfast was very poor and quite repetitive. There were no vegetables at all! The apartment had a moldy smell, and there were no wardrobes, which made it very inconvenient.

We loved the breakfast out by the garden. The grounds are beautiful.

Beautiful old building. Lovely part of the island. In a nice quiet village with great views from the property. Nice pool area in which to relax.

Très belle résidence ayant le charme des vieilles pierres. La piscine est très agréable. Le petit déjeuner est également très bien. Le tout dans la charmante ville de Maïa.

Good atmosphere, the landlady was super nice and helpful in person and always available via WhatsApp. Good breakfast.

Het heerlijke bed. De ruime kamers in het prachtige gebouw. Het gevoel van tijdloosheid.

Er was geen barretje of iets dergelijks.

This property is a true classic - a step back in time! (In all the best ways😉) Our suite in the main structure was extremely comfortable and spacious- nice to have room to spread out our stuff to facilitate packing for the trip home! We spent most of our days out and about, so didn’t take advantage of the grounds like we perhaps should have, but there’s a lovely terrace for breakfast seating, and on the main level, benches perfect for an evening glass of wine. Note that there is no elevator (in the main building), but with only two above ground stories, it would only be a problem for some- and I believe there are other rooms on the property with ground level entrances. The property is gated, so very secure, if that is a particular concern. Larger vehicles might find it difficult to gain entry.

A stunning property—the chance to stay in a palace for a few days is well worth the money. The location is perfect—peace and quiet, yet just a 15-minute drive from the city. Right behind the hotel is the ocean and beautiful walking paths. Delicious breakfasts. I highly recommend it.

A wonderful, historic manor house with a truly magical atmosphere. We felt as if we had stepped back in time :) We didn’t expect too much, as it was only a one-night stay, but the hotel did not disappoint us. Beautifully located, full of antique furniture and photographs in the communal areas. A modest, but perfectly adequate breakfast.

Solar de Lalem is a beautiful old home with lovely grounds. The pool felt private, was so clean and very relaxing. We wandered 5 minutes down the road into the small town of Maia for a delicioius dinner and beautiful evening.

Todo es excesivamente antiguo y sin mantenimiento. Si lo cuidasen algo más y cambiasen y modernizarse los baños y algunas estancias sería un gran alojamiento. Nunca me gustó dormir en habitaciones con muebles de los tatarabuelos , donde ha muerto tanta gente. Me daba un poco de repelús. La cadena redecorada podría ser de Relais &Chateaux. La persona encargada de recibir y dar desayunos nada agradable.

It was a big room and the place was huge. Everything is beautiful around. They have a natural pool nearby. The staff was supper.

One night a guest ring the bell around 1 am and we were sleeping but the staff quickly go there and ask them to be quiet.

La casa es muy bonita, el entorno y los jardines también. El desayuno y la persona a cargo lo mejor de la estancia, supersimpática y atenta.

La ducha de la habitacion, con cortinas y muy pequeña. Nos tocó una habitación en un edificio auxiliar de la propiedad, quizá las habitaciones en la casa principal estén mejor

Schönes Anwesen mit einem netten kleinen Garten. Der Pool war eine kurzweilige Abkühlung . Super gutes Frühstück auf der Terasse.

Die Unterbringung in dem Nebengebäude( nicht in Haupthaus) war dunkel und recht spartanisch eingerichtet. Für eine Nacht hat es jedoch nicht gestört.

Plumbing/pipes bubbled in our room - weird - not always 100% pleasant.

Great location to explore Furnas and Nordeste. Charming house, exceptionally nice staff.

Quite overpriced for what it was, breakfast was very average. You can hear a lot other guests on corridors and on terrace walking next to your window, the curtains don’t give full privacy. There was no chairs on terrace. Not much restaurants in the area, we went to Fim de Seculo, and it turned out to be closed even though google said it’s open. We had to drive to next village, got amazing fish stew at Cantinho Do Cala. Next day we went a bit earlier to O Estrela Bar and they also had great fish.

Le meilleur hôtel pour nous lors de notre séjour aux Açores. Les draps étaient les plus doux dans lesquels je n'ai jamais dormi. La maison a été magnifiquement rénovée et le parc est une merveille ! Le petit déjeuner est de loin un des meilleurs que nous n'ayons jamais eu et le déguster dans le jardin avec vue sur la mer était un vrai moment de plaisir. Nous aurions su nous n'aurions réservé que cet hôtel pour toute la durée de notre séjour. Pour couronner le tout, nous avons été surclassé dans la plus belle chambre de l'hôtel :-) Cette demeure nous a permis de vraiment imaginer comment une riche famille vivait aux Açores dans le passé.

Le coin piscine est sympa, le bâtiment en lui même est très joli, le personnel au top et le déjeuner très bien!

Les équipements de la chambre étaient vétustes et la propreté laissait vraiment à désirer. Le prix était assez élevé par rapport à la qualité générale.

Tout ! L’emplacement idéal pour visiter l’île en étoile, l’hôtel dans un ancien bâtiment d’époque, la gentillesse et la prévenance du personnel, la propreté, le petit déjeuner copieux, la piscine très agréable en rentrant de randonnée, la proximité de petits restaurants dans le village et aux environs.

Les pétards dans le village à toute heure de la nuit et du jour pour la fête des saints durant les jours où nous étions présents….

Eine wunderschöne Anlage mit einem sehr netten und hilfsbereiten jungen Mann am Empfang. Die Bepflanzung, das alte Haus mit den historischen und historistischen Möbeln, der ovale Pool mit der originellen Dusche: Traumhaft. Auch der Blick von der Frühstücksterrasse war toll. Die alte Küche im Haupthaus darf besichtigt werden und ist besser als jedes Museum. Alles sehr atmosphärisch und nicht von der Stange.

Die Straße war akustisch sehr präsent in unserem Zimmer und die Motorräder darauf extra laut. Während des Buchungsvorgangs war uns nicht klar, dass unser Zimmer nicht im Haupthaus, sondern im neueren Gartenhaus gelegen ist. Das wurde uns zwar sofort nach der Buchung von der Unterkunft persönlich mitgeteilt, wir hätten es aber gerne von vorne herein transparent gehabt. Das Bett ließ uns allerdings genau wissen wenn sich der andere bewegt…

El chico que hace el check in es muy majo y el sitio es como un palacio antiguo con mucho encanto

Very unique property! This is a centuries-old manor house with extensive grounds. Lots of character. The staff was friendly and accommodating

Le parking fait partie de la propriété, la piscine est spacieuse .

La chambre ne correspond pas du tout au photo présentes sur booking, nous étions logés derrière le bâtiment principal, et l'atelier avec vue sur les bouteilles de gaz et les poubelles, le lit était inconfortable, et la salle de bain était vieillotte et minuscule (1,50 m x 2,00m).

I really like the location - it’s close to the coastline and you can also drive to Caldeira Velha thermal pools in 25 min. There’s a delicious restaurant at the beach - just a 2-min drive. The premises are really beautiful. The staff are nice and friendly. Breakfast was substantial.

Unfortunately, the shower head in room 7 was barely working and it was hard to find the proper temperature. Also, there were a few cellar spiders on the ceiling and walls. But we’ve come across these creatures in most properties. So be prepared :)

Das Gebäude hat einen gewissen alten Charme der aber leider etwas in die Jahre gekommen ist.

Betten und Türen knarren. Die Bettwäsche hatte leider auch Flecken die beim Waschen anscheinend nicht mehr rausgegangen sind. Frühstück war etwas dürftig - kein frisches Gemüse

What an amazing experience. A truly beautiful hotel in a historic building. We were welcomed by a very professional and friendly manager. We had a perfect room. The breakfast exceeded our expectations. When we left, the manager also gave us several tips for places to visit in the surrounding area. This hotel is highly recommended.

Breakfast was quite poor and without doing restock for eggs for instance even if it was not the deadline for the breakfast time. The bathroom was very old style and only providing basic shower gel - no shampoo or conditioner No nice restaurant around so needs to make a 20min drive minimum to go elsewhere

We stayed in a king suite, which was excellent, and the building itself has a lot of character. You can park either on the property or on the street, both free of charge. The staff was very friendly, and the breakfast was great. Highly recommended if you're looking for a place with a welcoming and authentic atmosphere.

Solar de Lalem is a wonderful old mansion that retains some of its original features, all of which makes it feel like you are staying in a museum. The rooms were nicely done and have all the modern features you would expect. The boutique hotel is run by Rod, who is very welcoming and informative about both the mansion and the area. The breakfast was wonderful and the outside patio was a nice feature. We loved it and were sad to leave.

This was such a relaxing, calm place in a wonderful small village with breathtaking views.

Quarto enorme, muito confortável, com grande janela para o parque. Otimo pequeno almoço buffet, muito variado, com mesas no jardim, perfeito. O solar é magnifico com um enorme jardim e piscina

I cannot recommend this place more highly. The location on the north of the island is great for exploring, and it is an easy walk down to views of the ocean. There is a small supermarket and a couple of places to eat nearby. Staff were welcoming, and breakfast was fabulous.
