Mambo Beach Resort

Quelques points positifs : la salle de restaurant est jolie et agréable, et la vue sur la mer est évidemment appréciable. Le lit est également confortable, même si un deuxième oreiller par personne aurait été bienvenu pour davantage de confort. Le fait que l’hôtel soit également associé à un centre de plongée était aussi, à l’origine, un vrai avantage pour nous et l’une des raisons pour lesquelles nous avions choisi d’y séjourner. Malheureusement, ces quelques points positifs ont été largement éclipsés par notre expérience globale.

Tout d’abord, la nourriture a été extrêmement décevante. Nous avons essayé plusieurs plats, aussi bien de cuisine locale qu’internationale, et très sincèrement, nous n’avons rien trouvé de bon. La qualité des produits, les saveurs et l’exécution étaient très loin du niveau auquel on peut s’attendre dans un hôtel de cette gamme de prix. Après avoir très bien mangé tout au long de notre voyage en Indonésie, le contraste était particulièrement frappant. L’hôtel est également extrêmement bruyant. Bruit de la route, du restaurant, de la circulation autour de l’établissement… Ce n’est la faute de personne, cela est lié à la configuration et à l’emplacement de l’hôtel. Cela affecte néanmoins considérablement le confort du séjour et contribue, selon nous, au très mauvais rapport qualité-prix de l’établissement. Nous avons également été déçues par l’accueil et le manque de chaleur du personnel. Il ne s’est rien passé de spécifique, mais les interactions nous ont souvent semblé assez froides et surtout très transactionnelles. Là encore, le contraste avec tous les autres établissements dans lesquels nous avons séjourné pendant notre voyage en Indonésie a été particulièrement marqué, alors que l’accueil et la gentillesse avaient jusque-là été l’un des points forts de notre séjour. Notre expérience avec le centre de plongée de l’hôtel a d’ailleurs renforcé cette impression. Avant notre arrivée, nous souhaitions naturellement réserver nos plongées directement avec eux, puisque cela aurait été beaucoup plus pratique. Mon amie faisait son Open Water quelques jours avant notre arrivée et nous avions simplement demandé un peu de flexibilité : si elle ne pouvait finalement pas plonger, serait-il possible de transférer tout ou partie du montant payé à l’avance pour ses plongées vers mes propres plongées (additionnelles), plutôt que de perdre entièrement la somme ? Nous étions clientes de l’hôtel. Aucune flexibilité ne nous a été proposée.

Felt really relaxed at Mambo resort. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Todo bien organizado. Nos facilitaron la transfer del puerto al hotel y viceversa. Así como un tour al día siguiente.

El ruido. Se escuchaba la carretera y la musica. En nuestro caso no nos molestaba, pero si eres una persona a la que te pueda molestar no te lo recomiendo.

Het huisje zelf was wel erg mooi. Het had een privétoegang tot het zwembad, wat een grote meerwaarde was. De inrichting was stijlvol en gezellig, waardoor het verblijf op zich erg aangenaam aanvoelde.

Het lawaai was een minpunt. De muziek stond vrij luid en bovendien hoorde je muziek van twee kanten, aangezien er naast het hotel ook een restaurant/hotel lag waar eveneens muziek werd gespeeld. Hierdoor was het niet echt rustgevend of ontspannend. Ook het restaurant was een teleurstelling. De prijzen waren hoog, terwijl de porties erg klein waren. Op andere plaatsen hebben we veel beter gegeten voor een lagere prijs. Daarnaast vonden we de ontbijtformule wat vreemd. Je mocht twee gerechten kiezen. Voor het eerste gerecht waren er verschillende opties beschikbaar, maar voor het tweede gerecht moest je altijd eieren nemen. Dat was jammer voor mensen die niet echt van eieren houden of liever iets anders zouden kiezen.

Helaas voldeed Mambo Beach Resort totaal niet aan onze verwachtingen. Het resort ziet er in werkelijkheid veel minder mooi uit dan op de foto’s. Daarnaast is er veel lawaai, waardoor het moeilijk is om tot rust te komen. Ook is er nauwelijks privacy; vanuit de restaurants kunnen mensen gemakkelijk naar binnen kijken in de kamers. Wij voelden ons hier niet prettig bij. Uiteindelijk waren wij zo teleurgesteld dat we besloten hebben er niet eens één nacht te blijven. Op basis van deze ervaring zouden wij dit resort niet aanbevelen.

Direkt am Strand Poolzugang Tauchschule direkt am Hotel Nähe zum Hafen Tauchschule konnte uns wegen starkem Wellengang und Übelkeit eher zurück bringen

Abends laute Live Music die sehr laut im Zimmer war bis 22 Uhr Frühstück sehr begrenzt Vor dem Hotel stand ein Schild, dass es 20% auf das Essen am Wochenende während der Live Musik gibt, beim 2. Essen. Wir haben extra nachgefragt und uns wurde gesagt, dass wir am nächsten Abend 20% bekommen werden. Auf der Endrechnung fehlten diese dann. Mit einiger Diskussion konnten wir weniger bezahlen…

Sehr tolles Zimmer mit eigenem Poolzugang. Zum Meer sind es nur wenige Meter.

Zimmer sehr hellhörig konnten sogar den Nachbar ober uns schnarchen hören.

Wir sind früher abgereist.strand sehr dreckig.strasse beim Hotel Lebensgefährlich. Und die Musik jeden Abend zu laut.

Personnel all friendly, room and bathroom clean and spacious. We liked the live band and music ( unril 21.30u) Very lively resort and nicely decorated outside. Restaurant and breakfast enough variety. Location near harbour and good for east or west tour.

Amazing location, very clean, very good location for diving with a diving centre right in the hotel! Restaurant on the beach, with relaxed seating for coffee or lunch on the beach as well as more formal tables for dinner. They have live music in the evenings as well as happy hour with tasty drinks. They offer massages you can order to your room and are very helpful in booking transport

The vibe, the restaurant, the pool, the plants - more or less all of it! A place to return to! Love the little, green oasis right by the sea.

There are many dogs in the area and some are barking loudly in the night making it difficult to sleep. As it is beachfront it is sand everywhere but that is just how it is 😆

Alejado del puerto por lo que requiere traslado en vehículo, ofrecen el servicio pero ya no es gratuito como antes.

The size, only 10 rooms. The staff, the room was cute and connected to the pool. The restaurant location, ambiance and food was excellent. Breakfast was not that flavorful but still good.

Une partie du personnel: sourire forcé trop visible! Autant pas sourire… Usine fric: aucun écart sinon c’est tout de suite payant… pas rencontré ce type de rapport jusqu’à présent en Indonésie ! Music live tous les soirs en face des chambres : en soit c’est cool mais avertissez dans le descriptif non ??? Sortie snorkelling maintenu alors que le temps était pourrie, d’ailleurs la 2ème « plongée «  arrêtée au bout de 10min, trop dangereux : surtout ne pas perdre de fric en remboursant !!! Bref, pas convaincu.

所有房間對正餐廳，餐廳音樂噪耳； 房間pillow 太厚，而且很硬； 浴室去水很慢，可能有住客沖洗充滿沙粒衣物？ 浴室水壓比正常低； 餐廳很多烏蠅，早餐又要分開三碟上菜，忙著要趕走烏蠅，如果有蓋可以蓋住食物會比較理想。

Very nice staff and the rooms are clean and nicely decorated.

It is very noisy. the hotel is situated between the main road, so from 6 am. on there is loud noice from the traffic, on the other side of the room there is the restaurant, where they play music starting at 10 am. and have live-music (nice for the restaurant but very loud in the rooms) from 6-9.30 pm.

Our stay at Mambo Beach Resort was ultimately disappointing and, in our opinion, poor value for money. While the location is good for beach access, that was really the only notable positive.

Unfortunately, the resort felt overpriced for what was offered. The breakfast was particularly poor, with a very limited and low-quality selection that didn’t reflect the nightly rate. Noise was a major issue throughout our stay. Evenings were extremely loud due to music from both Mambo and the neighbouring bar, and if you’re allocated an upstairs room, you hear everything. This was made far worse by the room design - there are large gaps around the French doors and balcony, meaning the room is not sealed from outdoor noise or the elements in any meaningful way. Motorbikes passing at night were also very loud and regularly disrupted our sleep. There were also maintenance issues. The WiFi was unreliable, and the air conditioning unit repeatedly spat dirty water whenever it was switched on, sometimes throughout the night. As the unit is positioned directly above the bed, this was particularly unpleasant. After being kept awake late into the evening by loud music, we were then woken at 8:30am by construction work starting in the room directly below us, which felt inconsiderate. Overall, this was the least relaxing and yet most expensive place we stayed during our time in Indonesia. For the same nightly cost, there are far more comfortable, better-managed resorts in more central areas of the island. If we were to return, we would choose one of those instead.

Loved watching the sunset there every day — such a beautiful spot, and the staff are lovely and friendly.

(1) The live music can get extremely loud at night, which isn’t ideal when you’re just trying to sleep or relax in your room. (2) The room cleanliness also needs more attention — even after changing, the pillow covers still had stains, which was disappointing. (3) Got bombarded with confirmation messages every day, even though we’d already confirmed via WhatsApp ages ago. When we followed up, the staff said their system was hacked — but the messages kept coming almost daily before the trip. 😓

I booked this hotel for just one night while passing through to another island. The hotel is in a good location, and the restaurant is nice with a sea view. Unfortunately, my room was quite noisy due to the hotel’s thin (gyprock) walls, and there was very loud noise coming from the neighboring hotel. The room also had a strong, unpleasant smell, especially in the bathroom, which made it uncomfortable to use. On a positive note, the hotel provided a free drop-off at the pier the next day, which was appreciated.

the location is superb! hardly 5 mins from the port. it is mainly an oceanfront cafe that also has rooms for stay. the best part is the vibe they have setup, great decor, plants, overall aesthetic is on point. the backdoor of your room opens up to a common pool, and beyond that you can see the cafe area and ocean behind that. we stayed here in jan, and it was where most people were, most other cafes etc around were sort of empty/dead vibe. good cocktails. food we didn't like that much. the staff was courteous.

overall we had a great experience at this stay! we spent 2 nights here. the one girl who we met during our checkout was the only person who gave us trouble. maybe she was having a bad day or maybe is like that always. if it was not for her, it was an exceptional experience. i would still recommend this place to stay and even to chill.

Very good staff and best place they amazing dive team

Breakfast is ok. Eggs came out like rubber and stone cold, first time I've ever sent back. But I had a beautiful scenery to take my mind off it. I loved the whole vibe of the hotel with lots of greenery and the view really is pretty. Smack on the beach for morning walk is great and sitting in the beanbags at night to watch the sun go down is just lovely. It's close to a couple of restaurants if you want to go out. Having a scooter is perfect to get around and you can hire right out the front. Staff are always fabulous . P.S. The rooms are beautiful and so pretty.

The extra loud singer at night. You can hardly hear yourself think from the balcony. We were exhausted from diving all day, starting at 6am by 9.30pm you just want to go to bed. You are awaken very early in the morning by traffic and if not, it's barking dogs. There are a lot of dogs in the area.

staff did a sweep of. the room before we left. Good thing, as my husband left his sunglasses! After we checked out, they contacted us, as they had it on their schedule to give us a ride to the ferry and were concerned we would miss it. So thoughtful!

This is a unique beachfront hotel with a bar/restaurant. Rooms are nice all have a terrace and all are facing to the beach (tough the view is somewhat limited by the roof of the restaurant terrace - but it's not a problem at all, it's still really cool). The garden/restaurant has a direct beach acces, you can easily spend a day by just chilling out there. And it also ideal as a homebase for discovering Nusa Penida. They also offer harbor transfer for free.

We had an upstairs room, sound insulation is not the best (by design, it's a wooden structure) but it wasn't a dealbreaker for us, we've still enjoyed this place very much.

The ambiance, the vibe, the location , the friendly helpful staff, the food, the cocktails. Love the toiletries pouch and the lavender shower gel and tea rose shampoo.

Would love to see more seafood options in the food menu.

Great dive center

The staff are not trained well at all and are very lazy. The pools smell seems they do not have enough filters and are not been cleaned daily. Rooms were never cleaned well you would always see the same stains. When our room on the ground floor was being cleaned we saw the staff cleaning it sweeping the dust into the pool just outside the room. We saw the dinning area tables being cleaned with the same sweeper used for the floor. Food quality breakfast and their lunch/ dinner menu is really not good would not recommend staying or having any meals here. As per what we paid we did not see the value of money. While the property does provide a shuttle to and from the port when leaving the driver tired to drop us off at the shipping yard instead of near the booking desks for the fast boats.

L’emplacement juste à côté d’un club, impossible de dormir avant minuit car on entendait la musique dans la chambre comme ci on y était et après c’est les personnes ivres qui chantaient à l’extérieur et mon voisin du dessus parlait très fort sur la terrasse. Je me suis endormie à 2heures…

Wir hatten einen traumhaften Aufenthalt im Mambo Beach Resort, das durchweg überzeugt hat. Das Personal ist extrem freundlich und aufmerksam – ein echtes Highlight des Resorts! Wir hatten ein Deluxe Zimmer in der unteren Etage mit direktem Zugang zum Pool gebucht, was wir sehr genossen haben. Die Zimmer sind ansprechend und modern, besonders das Bad war toll ausgestattet. ​Auch das dazugehörige Restaurant ist ein echtes Pflanzenparadies, fast schon märchenhaft in seiner Gestaltung. Die Speise- und Getränkekarte ist umfangreich. Das Essen ist gut zubereitet, wenn auch die Würzung manchmal etwas milder ausfällt. Das Frühstück kann man sich aus vier verschiedenen Sets zusammenstellen. Die Auswahl ist ordentlich, wenngleich nicht alle Gerichte unseren Geschmack zu 100% getroffen haben. ​Ein großer Vorteil ist die angeschlossene Tauchschule, über die wir unkompliziert tolle Schnorchelgänge buchen konnten – sehr empfehlenswert! Das Mambo Beach Resort ist die ideale Wahl für einen entspannten und komfortablen Urlaub auf Nusa Penida.

Am ersten Abend hatten wir ein Abflussproblem in unserem Zimmer, so dass es leider etwas unangenehm roch. Das Hotelpersonal hat sich jedoch sofort und professionell darum gekümmert, sodass die Reparatur wie versprochen schon am nächsten Tag erledigt war.

Sehr schönes Hotel direkt am Strand mit sehr freundlichem Personal. Super zum tauchen.

Leider war es sehr laut von der Strasse und jeden Tag mit Musik vom Hotel oder vom Hotel neben an. Türen waren nur als Deko da.

Der Checkout

Wir waren wirklich enttäuscht von dieser Unterkunft. Die Bilder sind hier sehr irreführend aufgenommen. Hinter dem Pool liegt das Restaurant, bedeutet, dass man keinerlei Privatsphäre während seines Aufenthalts hat und der Meerblick unter der Vielzahl von Gästen im Restaurant völlig ruiniert wird. Das Badezimmer hat gestunken. Nachdem wir dies meldeten wurde sich in unserer Abwesenheit drum gekümmert. Es roch stark nach einem Frischespray. Nach einem Tag stank das Badezimmer wieder modrig. Die Shampoo und Waschlotion hatten einen uns zu intensiven künstlichen Geruch. Das WIFI hat die gesamte Dauer nicht vernünftig funktioniert. Auch das meldeten wir mehrmals, aber es gab keine vernünftige Lösung. Besonders schade, weil ich während unseres Aufenthalts in der ersten Nacht krank wurde und so keine Chance hatte mich dort wirklich wohlzufühlen. Das Personal war nicht besonders hilfsbereit. Auf verschiedene Nachfragen hin wurde einem eine nummer weitergeleitet und gebeten sich selbst dort zu melden, was ich bis jetzt so noch nicht in Indonesien kannte. Das Restaurant hatte sehr langweiliges und nicht schmackhaftes Essen, war dafür aber das teuerste, dass wir bis jetzt in Indonesien hatte. Fazit: Hier stimmt einfach alles vorne und hinten nicht. Das war unsere teuerste Unterkunft auf der gesamten Reise und mit Abstand die enttäuschendste. Ich kann nur jedem von einem Aufenthalt abraten.

breakfast included has too many rules the coffee included was instant Nescafé. You couldn’t order off the normal breakfast menu. And the noise is crazy. No insulation in the rooms. You can hear the kitchen noise until 10:30 pm and the start again around 6:30am.
