Claquement des portes et surtout l odeur forte de cigarette qui suffoque en ouvrant la porte de chambre

I have no words to express how kind and thoughtful the staff at this hotel were. I was travelling alone with my 13-year-old son when he developed a fever, and they went above and beyond to help me in every possible way, from allowing late check out, to helping me find the medicines we needed, to arranging a car to our next destination. I would especially like to thank a gentleman (perhaps the manager?) and the young nepalese woman staff member who spoke perfect English. Their kindness made such a difference, especially when travelling in a country where you don't speak the language, it can be very easy to feel lost and overwhelmed. The hotel itself is an excellent five-star property, with extremely comfortable beds and a very good and varied breakfast. A heartfelt thank you to the entire staff for taking such good care of us.

Nothing negative to say

Once you enter the main reception of the hotel you know straight away why it's called Grand. Chandeliers hanging high in the ceiling reflecting on a shiny marble floor you haven't time to really notice as your luggage is taken from you and handled by the porters. After a brief conversation at the receptionist desk, your luggage is taking to the elevator. Inside your room, everything is what you are hoping for. Fridge, large television, and a toilet seat that automatically open when you enter the area.

Only problem, like all Chinese hotels with a pool, you must wear a bathing hat. Lucky for me I had one.

The room, was large and very comfortable, the bathroom beautiful. The hotel doesn't look very old, the entrance and hallways are all beautiful.

We couldn't workout how to turn the actual toilet light off.

The staff were wonderful particularly the gentlemen who may be the manager. Humble helpful & adorable 👍

Chosing Grand Mercure is like hitting the lotto. General manager Rita is an exceptional human being in kindness, professionalism and friendliness. We felt at home in her sweet presence. She became part of our family. Rita, Iris and Sofi are pleasant memories now. Thank you all

Lovely location, a stones throw from the Yangtze, and walking distance to the city centre but in a quieter area. Our river view room was fantastic and had the added bonus of being able to see a beautiful tower, lit up at night. The staff were welcoming and the breakfast was great!!! The swimming pool and gym were much better than most we’ve experienced in other hotels.

Not a hotel for foreigners. Would not recommend this hotel, floor was never vacuumed and a whole host of other things
