Reviewed Aug 9, 2026This place is spectacular. Stunning views, a hot tub that sits cliffside and overlooks the valley, incredibly friendly staff and amazing food. It was the perfect peaceful escape with a gorgeous little trail and fully embedded in nature. Far enough away for a full disconnect but still in good proximity from the wine estates.

Reviewed May 13, 2026Wir waren in der Nebensaison für eine Nacht dort. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und bemüht – besonders der Koch war ausgesprochen nett. Das Essen, das man bestellen konnte, war gute Hausmannskost und hat uns gut geschmeckt. Insgesamt war der Aufenthalt für eine Nacht in Ordnung, das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis hat für uns persönlich aber nicht ganz gepasst. Wir können uns vorstellen, dass die Atmosphäre bei mehr Gästen und in der Hauptsaison deutlich angenehmer wirkt. Für Aufenthalte in der Nebensaison würden wir die Unterkunft daher eher eingeschränkt empfehlen.
Die Unterkunft selbst hat für uns persönlich allerdings eher einen Herbergs- als einen klassischen Hotelcharakter vermittelt. Da während unseres Aufenthalts nur sehr wenige Gäste/keine Gäste vor Ort waren, wirkte das Haus insgesamt etwas geschlossen und es gab kaum Möglichkeiten zur Unterhaltung oder Beschäftigung – vor allem bei Schlechtwetter war das etwas schwierig. Unser Zimmer war bei der Ankunft recht ausgekühlt. Zwar gibt es einen Kamin, den man selbst beheizen kann, dennoch hätten wir uns bei den Temperaturen ein etwas vorgewärmtes Zimmer gewünscht.

Badezimmer mit Super-Dusche, Toilette in separatem Raum. Großzügige schöne Lounge für Frühstück und Dinner. Tolles Schwimmbad. Frühstück und Dinner aus kleinerer Karte auswählbar - lecker. Anfahrt nach vorab unaufgefordert übersandter Anfahrtsskizze präzise und einfach bewältigbar. Wenige nicht asphaltierte km, sehr gut gepflegt und sehr gut befahrbar mit normalem Fahrzeug. Personal sehr freundlich und engagiert. Wir kommen wieder!!!

Reviewed Dec 4, 2025Unglaubliche Ausblicke ins Tal und auf die umliegenden Berge. Unser Cottage war modern und komfortabel ausgestattet mit allem was man benötigt. Alles sehr sauber. Frühstück und Abendessen waren gut und aufgrund der wenigen anderen Gäste sehr exklusiv, es waren außer uns nur 2 andere Paare da.Schwimmen und chillen im 25 Meter Pool waren ein Erlebnis und eine perfekte Abkühlung an einem heißen Tag. Die Ruhe dort oben ist schon etwas besonderes.

Preis Leistung für uns nicht ganz stimmig, da trotz relativ hohem Preisniveau z.B. für die HotTub Nutzung 400 ZAR zusätzlich aufgerufen werden oder der nachgeschenkte Kaffee zum Frühstück überraschend in der Endrechnung auftauchte. Das kennen wir sonst anders. Potential ist noch vorhanden: etwas gemütliche Außenbeleuchtung statt „Flutlicht“ wäre schöner. Überraschungsbesuche der freilaufenden Hunde (von klein bis ganz groß) sind vielleicht nicht jedermanns Geschmack 😉 Wir hatten Angst um unser Grillgut 😜

Reviewed Nov 20, 2025Sehr freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal. Sensationeller Ausblick und ein wunderschöner Pool. Super Frühstück. Sehr grosser Zimmer. Einziger Kritikpunkt am Zimmer: eher harte Matratzen und hohe Kissen.
Leider wurde uns nicht gesagt, dass der Hot Tube separat verrechnet wird, wenn wir diesen nutzen. Das war an anderen Orten nie ein Thema. Sonst alles tip top und wir kommen bestimmt wieder dorthin.

Alles war rauchig im Bungalow. Kamin. Schlafzimmer nur ein Nachttischbereich (der an Schrankwand liegende fehlte). Wo soll man seine Sachen hinlegen (Uhr/Wecker/Handy)? Es fehlte definitiv Couchtisch, wenn auch Kleiner. Wasser vom Kanister war nicht trinkbar. Man würde auch echtes Wasser zahlen.

Reviewed Aug 25, 2025- the view from the superior suite is phenomenal, especially the sunrise (you can see it from your bed!) - location is beautiful - room is comfortable, with a small kitchen and a fireplace (which is needed in winter) - breakfast on the terrace by the pool with nice views
- we did not know the hot tub use was with a supplement, which is ok - but we would have preferred to be informed beforehand - a little bit more fresh fruit at breakfast would be awesome, but I know this is difficult in remote locations

Wine by the glass was not an option. But the owners did fix this small problem right away. Maybe they can choose a White, Roses and Red from the bottle for the future, for their guests.

Reviewed Feb 15, 2025What an amazing gem we found. We thought we knew all what Robertson had to offer however we were pleasantly surprised. Go here and just relax. No need to even go into town often. Kick back and enjoy the day and night. We will for sure be back!
The road up to the property could be an issue for sum however we are lucky to have a bakkie which was enjoyed!

The only thing that was a bit strange was that breakfast had to be pre-ordered the night before, and coffee/tea was not included. And they have no lunch. I guess my feedback is that they should have more food options available. Another note to future visitors - the mountain road up to the hotel was a bit difficult if you have a smaller car. But other than that it was perfect.

From the gin and tonic by the pool to the iced grapes. Food is fantastic and we brought meat to braai and used the facilities on our deck but could use their kitchen too. The views are breath taking and we will be back
