Theta Boutique Hotel

We highly recommend this beautiful boutique hotel, perfectly located for visiting Chania and recently completely refurbished. Run by a wonderfully warm and friendly family, nothing is too much trouble and the service throughout our stay was exceptional. They genuinely care about their guests and deserve every success.

Our stay at the Theta Boutique Hotel was truly excellent and exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we received a wonderful welcome from Irene, who was always kind, helpful, and attentive to our needs. She kindly managed to have our room ready before the scheduled check-in time and welcomed us with exceptional hospitality, even offering us something to eat after our journey. We also greatly appreciated her valuable recommendations for beaches and places to visit, both nearby and further away from Chania. Our room was beautiful, modern, functional, and equipped with every comfort. The sea view from the room was absolutely stunning and made our stay even more special. The cleanliness was also impeccable throughout our stay. Another great advantage was the parking area directly in front of the hotel, which was extremely convenient and made parking very easy. The hotel’s location is also ideal: you mainly need the car to reach the beaches, while in the evening you can easily walk to nearby restaurants and enjoy the area without having to drive. We also really appreciated the varied, high-quality breakfast and, above all, the availability of the staff, who were always ready to help and accommodate any request, 24 hours a day. Superb stay in the Theta Boutique Hotel. From the moment we arrived we felt so welcome. We where late checking in (outside reception hours) but someone was there to meet us and show us around the room and give us all other information. We stayed in Room 101 which was bigger then expected and had a small balcony looking out to the harbour. The room was very modern, bed was fantastic, very comfortable and rain shower was amazing. Coffee machine and Netflix on TV was also a great addition. We hired a car for afew days and only free parking in Chania is location right across from hotel which was brilliant. Shops, restaurants and bars all-round the corner from the hotel and there is also alittle swimming spot a couple of metres away which we found great . Breakfast was brilliant always so fresh and staff would literally make anything new for you if they had ran out. Hotel is located 5min walk to the Old Town Harbour and in a quiet area. Massive thank you to Irene who literally couldnt do enough for us. We where able to whats app message her with any questions and she got back to us without any problems about anything. One of the best places we have ever stayed 😁 Will definitely be back someday

This is one of the best places I’ve stayed in! This is a family owned cute little hotel and the hospitality is beyond anything I’ve ever seen :) The big smiles, the kindness and the breakfast prepared by a greek mum have been absolutely outstanding! I’m leaving my honest review of this hotel because I know how important it is to find a truly worthwhile place when planning a trip, especially when reviews include photos and clear information about what to expect. Let me start from the beginning. The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Chania’s Old Town, and our room had a beautiful sea view. All the main attractions, restaurants, and the harbor are just a short walk away. The room had everything we needed: a large comfortable bed, TV, refrigerator, hairdryer, basic toiletries, and even a jacuzzi, which unfortunately we didn’t have time to use. The soundproofing was excellent, and what mattered most to me was the cleanliness. From the moment we checked in until the day we left, the room was spotless. The wonderful housekeeping staff kept everything clean and tidy every single day. A very special thank you to the amazing receptionist, Irene, for her outstanding communication and hospitality. She was incredibly helpful, genuinely cared about our stay, and even assisted us with planning and organizing some of our trips. What we loved most was the atmosphere of this place. You truly feel like a welcomed guest rather than just another tourist. It’s obvious that the entire hotel team genuinely cares about their guests and puts their heart into what they do. If we ever return to Chania, we won’t hesitate to stay here again. I can confidently recommend this hotel to anyone who values cleanliness, a perfect location, attentive staff, and a comfortable stay. Lo staff estremamente accogliente, ci ha seguiti sin da prima dell’arrivo per soddisfare le nostre esigenze. La camera era grandissima con una vista meravigliosa. Tutti i dettagli curati. Appartamenti nuovi ristrutturati, a 3 minuti a piedi dalla zona dei ristoranti. Colazione buona.

Assenza di parcheggi, anche se i proprietari ci hanno tenuto la prima sera il posto per l’auto. Alcune bevande come cappuccino a colazione sono a pagamento extra.

What a warm welcome right from the time of making the booking! The location is perfect being in easy access of the old port and also a good (but limited) town beach. We didnt get a room with a view but we got a jacuzzi and a fantastically comfortable bed. The breakfast had real orange juice and home made pastries by Mum. Eirini was super friendly and helpful with advice and dinner reservations etc and turned what would have been a good stay into a memorably excellent one. Thank you. I would definitely stay again without hesitation.

Absolutely nothing

The experience was amazing from start to end. We arrived late at night around 2:00 and Spyros was there to welcome us with a smile regardless of the hour! The room was fantastic and what counts more for me it has an amazing bed. Everything was super clean with all amenities you need. The staff at breakfast was super and the food was freshly made. We got amazing tips from Eirini as to where to drive to to find the perfect beach bars and food recommendations. I 100% recommend Theta Boutique Hotel.

This is not something I didn't like but as a recommendation, if you are renting a car to get there, due to its amazing position right next to the port and city center, during weekends especially, finding parking can be hard. There is ample parking during the day but during the night everyone wants to go to the port area so parking fills up fast.

The room was very comfortable, spotless, and had everything we needed, while the location was perfect- just a short walk to the Venetian Old Port and the Old Town, with convenient parking nearby. What truly made our stay exceptional, however, was the incredible hospitality of the owners, Spyros and Irene. They went above and beyond at every opportunity, from arranging reservations and sharing excellent local recommendations to making us feel genuinely welcome throughout our visit. Location perfect, beach on one side of the hotel and the Old City on the other. The restaurants to the sea side of the hotel are where the locals eat, lovely food. Hotel is very well kept, super helpful staff, great breakfast.

Keine Abstellmöglickeiten in der Dusche Keinen Kleiderschrank, nur eine Stange zum hängen Frühstück war 6x das gleiche ohne Abwechslung. Eierspeisen und Speck waren jeden Morgen kalt. Das frühstücksbuffet hat sehr viel Potential nach oben für den Übernachtungspreis… Bettlaken wurde 5 Tage nicht gewechselt obwohl es offensichtlich schmutzig jeden Tag auf dem Bett lag. Im Zimmer wurde kein Staubsauger verwendet während dem Aufenthalt…

We loved everything about this Hotel!!! The family that owns it is so hospitable and went above and beyond to help us have a perfect trip! The hotel is in the perfect location. It is within easy walking distance of all of the great places to visit in Chania. The sunset’s were absolutely stunning!! Off of our balcony we got a perfect view of the sunset every night.

L'accueil était exceptionnel, que ce soit les femmes de ménage ou le personnel à la réception, tout le monde a été adorable. La réceptionniste nous a donné d'excellentes adresses pour aller dîner. L'hôtel est moderne et propre. La chambre était impeccable, spacieuse et confortable. La localisation de l'hôtel est parfaite, à proximité de tout mais assez à l'écart pour être au calme.

We stayed at Theta Hotel for six nights and had a wonderful experience. The facilities were excellent and everything felt brand new. Our bed was very comfortable, and we had a lovely sea view, which made the stay even better. This is a family-run business, and the owners were incredibly helpful with anything we needed. They even made scrambled eggs specially when I asked, and left us a lovely bottle of wine as a treat, which was such a nice touch. Breakfast was also very good, with a great variety of fruit, bread, pastries, yoghurt, granola, bacon, and eggs. They arranged all of our transfers too, which made everything so easy. The hotel is in a great location, within walking distance of the old town. There is a free parking lot across the road, although it can get very busy, so parking is not always easy to find. Overall, I’d highly recommend Theta Hotel and would happily stay again.

Très bel hôtel situé à proximité du fort vénitien et d’une jolie plage où l’on peut passer un moment… l’accueil est très attentif et très agréable, on vous donnera de bons conseils. Le PDJ complet et soigné, le quartier à la fois calme et animé, la proximité de la mer, un parking gratuit très pratique juste à côté… un vraiment bel endroit pour séjourner à La Canée !

The location was perfect - away from the main touristy area by the harbour, but only 5 minutes walk away. The bay in front of the hotel is shallow and ideal for swimming. The breakfast with local home-made treats was really amazing and tasty! Irene at reception was extremely attentive and helpful. She also gave us excellent recommendations for restaurants and places to visit.

Mr Spyros and his team are some of the kindest people I’ve met. Someone was available for anything I needed 24 hours. Excellent location, a 4-5 minute walk to the Old Port, within eyesight of the old walls, but not right in the middle of the noise and crowds. Sparkling clean rooms, modern furnishings, elegant and simple providing everything you need without too much clutter. Breakfast is light and filling.

L’hôtel était très bien situé, avec un agencement moderne et des prestations de qualité. L’équipe était vraiment très sympathique, à l’écoute et avenante. Il y a un parking à côté de l’hôtel ce qui est très pratique.

Le seul point négatif est qu’il n’y ait pas de café sur place pour le petit déjeuner. Une offre de proximité existe toutefois, ce qui compense, même si cela revient un peu cher.

Lage top (am Meer und zum alten Hafen sind es nur wenige Meter), Ausstattung top, Sauberkeit top - wir haben uns rundherum wohl gefühlt. Liebe Irene, herzlichen Dank für deine tollen Infos und den super Service❣️ Frühstücken durften wir im Restaurant Salis am Hafen, mit tollen Blick und ebenfalls sehr aufmerksamen Service, da der Frühstücksraum noch nicht fertig war.

Parkplatz direkt vorm Haus, aber mit einem etwas größeren Auto wird das Einparken schnell herausfordernd. Der Parkplatz ist eng und meistens voll.

The property was just as described and we had a beautiful room overlooking the sea with jacuzzi bath and every facility that we needed. All lovely and clean on arrival and was cleaned to a high standard daily. Spiros and Irene ran the hotel and were absolutely the best hosts .. we needed to see a doctor and Irene organised that, she also organised any excursion that we wanted to go on . We had our wedding anniversary there and there was a bottle of wine in the room with balloons and a card. My I phone charger broke and immediately Spiros gave me one to use that was the hotels . They absolutely made our holiday as nothing was too much trouble for them .

Such a fantastic location--just steps around the corner (around the old Venetian wall) from the main old town center of chania, and yet there's a great cove/neighborhood feel right next to the hotel-- we esp love the cafe/restaurant 'The Monkey' with great service, good & coffee. Rooms are modern, comfortable and clean.

Part of the hotel is being renovated. Spiros and Irene were the best hosts and they made up for any inconvenience with their wonderful hospitality.

Theta Boutique Hotel is an incredibly convenient, clean and comfortable location for exploring Chania and Western Crete! The warm, friendly welcome and support from the staff team is truly exceptional. Free parking opposite the hotel is very helpful if you have a hire car as we did.

It will be lovely to see the ground floor reception area complete. The team offer an inspired solution by offering breakfast at a nearby restaurant with a lovely view of the inner harbour

Location was excellent within easy walking distance to the heart of the old town and right on the water. Room was very spacious, very clean and very comfortable. While the hotel's breakfast area was undergoing renovation we were provided breakfast at the Little Monkey which was right around the corner. Excellent food and service. There was ample free parking on the street and in two large lots across from the hotel. Be aware that if you are arriving between 1900 and about 2200 the lots will be crowded as many park there to go to the old city. Parking during the day was not an issue. We had a great experience and found all of the staff to be friendly, helpful and focused on making our stay enjoyable. Highly recommended!
