Locatie is geweldig.
Overall, this riad is a great find. Marika (hope I’ve spelt that right) who owns the riad is an absolute delight. She couldn’t do enough for us. While her English is limited, it really didn’t matter - Google translate came to the rescue when needed. The riad is inside the medina, which is a real labyrinth of alleys, so she kindly met us where the taxi dropped us off. We were then greeted with mint tea and Moroccan biscuits. The rooms are nice, but need a bit of maintenance. That really didn’t bother me though - the location is great, the beds are comfy and the staff are amazing (the lady who works with Marika, doing breakfasts etc. is also lovely). My friend’s room was off the main courtyard so was a bit noisier than mine, which was upstairs. Breakfast is very tasty, although it would be nice to have some fruit/yogurt. We also had dinner in the riad one evening, which was delicious (we were given soup, tagine and then oranges with cinnamon and a sweet biscuit/cake, but i suspect it may vary from day to day and I’m sure you can make requests should you wish to). Overall, I would recommend this riad and would stay there again
We stayed 5 nights and our rooms weren’t cleaned during that time. It didn’t matter that much as it was only a few days, but it’s something you generally come to expect in a hotel type accommodation. Also, you have to be careful when showering as there are no shower curtains/screens so the water can go everywhere and it would be very easy to flood the bathroom! My towel rail was about to fall off the wall so I didn’t use it. As I mentioned above, it would have been nice to have some fruit/yogurt as part of breakfast, although what we had was very tasty!
Todo muy hermoso y limpió! La habitación grande y cómoda! El desayuno increíble!
Nos gustó todo!
The breakfast and the hospitality here was incredible. We felt so safe getting to and from the Riad, and felt welcomed in like family. Thank you for hosting us!
Breakfast was plentiful and served on a terrasse. Rooms were nicely decorated and clean. Not fancy, but practical with all that is needed. The bed was of very good quality and firm. Location is great, down a small street off a main area, 10 minutes walking to the jemaa el fnaa square and near plenty of good restaurants. Dinner was served at the riad if we requested it in advance.
Not fancy, but meets all needs well. I would have enjoyed fresh fruit at breakfast (fresh orange juice was served).

We stayed in Riad la Bigarade for 4 nights The stay was very pleasant and quiet despite being in the heart of Medina , the location was very close to the most popular places to visit. Fahd was grate host very helpful caring and friendly so the restock the team . Mia the cat „Zorro” she deserves to special acknowledgment to as she is the part of the family to (why „Zorro” Yous have to find out for Yourselves ;) ) Food was always freshly cooked and tasty . We definitely be back Thank You
All good
Our stay at Riad La Bigarade was perfect. Right in the heart of the medina we saw Moroccan life at its best. A mix of authentic and luxurious experiences all around us. Fad was a superb host - kind caring and helpful. As two ladies travelling together we knew that Fad was always there should we need him. Breakfast and meals at the Riad were amazing. Freshly cooked by a wonderful lady - who too, was always smiling helpful and forever cleaning around the property. Fad met us as we arrived and walked us to the taxi as we left. On an evening we were escorted through the alley to the medina by a pleasant security man. As a frequent visitor to Marrakesh I will most certainly return to this Riad.
Everything met our expectations
The breakfast was truly outstanding. It was served on the roof-top. A complete Moroccan breakfast. Each item was deliciously prepared and presented. The service was outstanding. One of our choice memories of our time in Morocco. We liked all that we experienced. In addition to the great facility, the personalized service offered by Fahd was above and beyond. His knowledge, kindness, and willingness to go the extra mile made our stay at the Riad La Bigarade second to none. He was outstanding!
Fahd who was managing the place was kind, smiling and always wiling to help. The courtyard had a very peaceful and relaxing vibe. The accommodation is situated in the central hub of activity within the medina with many attractions really nearby.
The room we stayed in had huge gaps in the doors so we were woken up early by sounds of the Riad. (This is a difficult one to address while preserving the authentic doors). Google maps does not show the proper location so we got lost trying to find the place. It would have been helpful to have some directions or a google maps pin beforehand. We booked an Atlas mountain day trip through the accommodation- while this was convenient and efficiently done, I would advise clarifying what is included as when we got there we found out we had to pay extra for a guide and a meal.
Lovely oasis away from the busy streets. The tagines were lovely on arrival even though we were slightly late.
Having breakfast earlier, ~8am, was difficult (before day trips) and you had to whisper not to disturb other people which felt uncomfortable. Fahad was disappointed that we had booked trips via other means rather than through him, made us feel like he was very money motivated.
Ottima posizione, staff gentile e molto disponibile
The location was great as it is very close to the most popular places to visit, we could shopping and get back to our place to drop off the bags and then come back to keep enjoying of our trip! The staff was very sweet and friendly! Cooking everything with love and always checking on us all the time- Our very good friend Fahd gave us great tips, recommendations and took an amazing care of us! we will come back for sure and stay longer! we were very happy there! Thank you!

Very helpful host who it will answer all your questions and help you arrange your visit and even help you book entrance tickets. Very good breakfast. The location is very central but still slightly off the noisy and bustling shopping streets.
Esperienza consigliata
The staff at Riad La Bigarade were great. Always ready with info and advice and lovely breakfast on the rooftop terrace. Thanks
They where kind and flexible with our schedule
The room where we where had no window and you cold hear the neighbors chitchat at 12 at night
Location is inside .Medina, very hard to find, staff speaks English well and dinner served at this property was delicious
Riad La Bigarade, was a lovely place to stay. The staff were incredibly warm and friendly. The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. Our room was very cosy and the bed comfortable. The Riad provided a map with all the major sites on it. The location was fantastic right in the heart of the Medina.
It met all our expectations
Lovely Riad, excellent rooms and breakfast was very good too. A couple of sun loungers on the top floor would have been nice as the 2 reclining chairs were a bit basic.
Location Staff, absolutely wonderful Breakfast
Smell in bathroom Darkness in room Room door locks with a padlock Hard to find Riad
Lovely staff. Good location once you find it-/ make sure to have staff meet you entrance of Medina.
Strong sewer smell in the bathroom that permeates into bedroom. I think it’s function of old sewer system.
First we were welcomed in this beautiful Riad with a cup of Moroccan tea and delicious pastries. They took time to talk with us about their history and places to visit in Marrakech. The rooms were very nice, modern yet and spacious. The breakfast was very copious and delicious. The Riad was in a great location and whether it was early morning or late at night we always felt safe.

All the staff is amazing, very kind and helpful. You feel at home. They are the reason I will be back to this Riad.
In one of the
Really nice and helpful staff. The Riad inside is stylish and relaxing, the rooftop terrace is very nice.
It is a personal thing, but I did not like the dirty narrow streets leading to the road. There was no real window on the room, only a wooden door facing to the narrow street - it is not easy to let some fresh air in. Breakfast was simple, with lots of sugar (pancakes, other cakes, honey and jam), but served with care.
Fad, the host, was really kind and helpful. The Riad is comfortable and the breakfast is very good.
The Riad is in a fantastic location. The staff are extremely helpful and offer a great service, especially Fahad and Zohia. It was my wife's birthday and they got a cake and balloons for her and sang her happy birthday! Highly recommended!
All was great.
Amazing stay, the personnel is really friendly and helpful. Loved it. The breakfast was included and amazing very tasty.
Very pleasant property, right in the middle of all touristic attractions. Staff very kind and attentive. Comfortable bed. Clean and quiet. Yummy breakfast.
Nothing.
Really enjoyed my time here! Google maps led me astray and they did an amazing job of helping me find our accommodation. They put us in a great room, were incredibly hospitable the whole time and would definitely be the first place I'd come back to in Marrakesh.
Place was decent but outdated. You get what u pay for...the manager is good at getting every penny from customers. taxi from airport is $10..,he will ask for 20 ueros, he can tell customers to be dropped off at dar maho and then have his assistant pick u up. Another thing...dinner at this riad is 25 ueros...anywhere elsewhere is like 15 ueros...i felt robbed and wont stay there again. his assistant was really good.showed me marrekesh and i had to force him to take a tip..if u r on a burget stay here, book all ur trips not with him becos his rates r high and if u have to pay him, they accept credit card...he had me believe he only accepted cash...sooo awful. Place is in tthe old medina.
Simple, friendly and well located Riad about 10 walk through the network of small streets of the oldest Medina of Marrakech. Fahd and his team were extremely friendly, respectful and did everything they could to make the 4 of us feel welcomed and comfortable. Great home cooked breakfast. They helped us organize transportation a few days before our arrival from the airport and to our next destination. Definitely recommend.
The riad is tucked within the alleyways of the Medina, close to all the shopping action and walking distance from the square. The rooms were spacious and clean (there was one issue, but it was taken care of promptly), but what sets the hotel apart is the service. Fahd was able to organize an airport transfer for me in the middle of the night and organize transfers to and from a conference outside the city multiple days in a row. He even was able to bring me something that I had forgotten at the hotel promptly. The breakfast and dinner were also outstanding and truly home cooked, better than most of the restaurants we had tried. Make sure you get in touch with Fahd on WhatsApp before arriving at the hotel, and you'll have a great experience.
we had a wonderful stay made so by the extremely pleasant service from all the staff.
Excellent place. Fahd and his staff are superb. Location is perfect and everyone is almost too kind. I definitely will stay here again. Thank you!!
Great place to stay in the Medina. Truly a unique experience. The staff was amazing. Faid was there any hour of the day or night to assist u. He even walked us to out taxi at 3am.
Cant speak highly enough about our stay. Fahd and the team looked after us so well from the moment we arrived, they just couldnt do enough for us. Nothing was any trouble, Loved the Riad, loved the quirkiness, never stayed anywhere like it. Great location right in the heart of the Medina. Perfect
Staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Fahd arranged transport for us, arranged for a lady to come to the Riad and do Henna tattoos they and cooked a meal for us on our last night that was outstanding
No
The property was cleaned, staff were all very cooperative and quite helpful. When my flight got delayed, i messaged and the response was very quick, has amazed me. Staff are very well organized and found helpful thru out. The breakfast was excellent.
Lovely riad close to the center of all the excitement in Marrakech medina but still quiet because it is off a side street. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They walked us from the medina gate to the Riad the first day and showed us how to get around the medina. Breakfast was on the terrace and we could even order dinner in the riad if we wanted to.
We were extremely happy we chose to stay here. The Riad was beautiful and had everything we needed and more. The breakfast was amazing and very genourous. It tasted fantastic. The best thing was the people who worked there. They were friendly, polite and extremely helpful. In particular Zouhir, Zinbe and Fahd. They had amazining knowledge to help us with everything. The best food we ate in Marrakesh was at Riad. Zinbe is an amazing chef. We loved everything she made. In particular the evening meals and breakfasts. Zouhir was always there to help with recommendations, translation and directions. He is amazing. I cannot wait to go back. You should defintly stay here for an great hoilday and authentic experince.
It was our first time visiting Marrakech, we weren't disappointed. When we arrived we were greeted very warmly and offered tea, we then saw the room! The room was great but not something we expected, the windows pointed inwards. Something we got used to very quickly. It doesn't take long to settle into the groove, Malika and her family were very welcoming and couldn't have done enough for us. The food was ok outside, in the Riad the food was amazing and really made our anniversary meal something special. We cannot recommend this Riad enough and when we return to Marrakech we will certainly stay here again. We can't recommend it strongly enough, oh and the breakfast was to die for!
Amazing daily breakfast on rooftop terrace. Personal service by staff. Fahid, Zouhier and Zainub were excellent!!!! In addition, great recommendations on things to do and day excursions in and around Marrakech. Stayed 6 nights and we loved it!!! Zul and Veno
We very much enjoyed our stay at Riad La Bigarade. We were able to have transport arranged to and from the airport. The breakfast was delicious. The location of the Riad is great as you are readily able to walk into the souk for shopping and eating and are able to walk to most sites you will want to visit while in Marrakesh. Despite the centrality of the location, the rooms were very peaceful and quite. We were able to come and go flexibly throughout our stay. Additionally, laundry services were available.
Staying in a Riad is the most authentic and exciting way to stay in Marrakech, putting you right in the heart of the souks and old city, walking distance from all the main local attractions. They are unique and beautiful settings allowing you privacy and serene escape in a bustling city. What really made the experience at Road Bigarode though were the staff. Zuzu and Fahd who were more than friendly and welcoming, giving safe advice and help from printing boarding tickets, to sorting local Sims to allowing you to message them on WhatsApp. They were easy to talk to, make great tea and a beautiful breakfast which welcomes local birds in the morning.
Had a great time at this property! Highly recommended… staffs are very attentive and helpful… thank you so much Riad La Bigarade Lorelie A.
I LOVED THE VIBE, THE WELCOME, THE STAFF, THE BREAKFAST, EVERYTHING.
The host, Fahd, was very welcoming and very helpful.
Very good stay would definitely recommend
All the staff were incredibly friendly snd easy going. Excellent breakfast, nice room, right in the city center. Everythign was perfect
The staff is so friendly, sweet and helpful and it's a very convenient location.
Loved this Riad hidden in the Medina. Staff was warm and welcoming, the best of Berber and Arabic hospitality. One of the best experiences I’ve had at a Ryokan or Riad. And the food was good too!
The location of the riad is great. Delicious food - if you order a meal in the riad, it will be very, very tasty. The young man working reception/guardien is very kind & helpful.
The design of the riad isn't very exciting. We privatized this riad for our entire group and they were disappointed that it didn't look more "authentic" with Moroccan rugs, pompom blankets, lanters, etc. There is so much opportunity with such a great location. The house itself is very nice but the decor could be better, as this is what foreigners want to see when visiting a riad in the medina. Also, there was a staff member smoking all day/night inside the house which kept most of our guests up coughing all through the night. On the last night, the owner of the riad presented one of our clients with a bill for all the food consumed by the guest (which is always paid by the organizer, not the clients) and it worried them. Overall, I just don't feel like I can recommend the place and definitely would not book it again.
Opulent and comfortable on the whole. Nice roof terrace with shade and sun and comfortable chairs. However the best thing about the property was one of the staff called Dress who couldn’t have done more.
My room had a wooden door with 3-4 centimetres gaps at most edges. When people came into the Riad, it was as if they were in my room. It wasn’t so bad for me as I was on my own but, if you are looking for privacy, this is not the room for you! (My son had another room with a properly closing door.) I found the location of the property quite scary. It is down a series of dark, quite smelly, narrow passages in the medina area. I kept telling my son, ‘It can’t be down here’ but it was!
Lovely Riad really close to the Souks, the best restaurants, and all the incredible things Marrakech has to offer. Malika and her team Idris and Aisha were warm and friendly - nothing was too much trouble, and it really felt like they welcomed us into their home. The Riad has a wonderful roof terrace and we were treated to home cooked tagine one evening (when it was still warm enough to eat outside in December!) We were also treated to traditional singing and dancing on New Year's Eve. Such a great stay! Room was lovely, clean, great shower room and really comfy bed. Breakfast really set us up for the day... The team are only too happy to set up airport transfers, and Idris keeps fit by insisting on carrying all the bags to and from the car! If you have a little French language that would be helpful but all the effort was made by the hosts. Thank you all! We would highly recommend this Riad to spend a few nights or more if you're visiting Marrakech.
This is a gem of a place to stay if you want the full experience of the Medina in Marrakech. You will need good directions or simply pay a few coins to get help from those looking to lead tourists to their Riad. Once there, you will discover it is right in the heart of the Medina, with everything that this means, available within easy walking distance. La Bigarade has just undergone a complete but sympathetic refurbishment. You get the full mix of what a Riad should offer; cool central courtyard, Arabic features and a roof facility where a full, delicious Moroccan breakfast is served, which should get you through most of the day. The bedrooms are also fully refurbished with modern 'wet-room' facilities. Add to this the most pleasant staff who simply cannot do enough to make you feel like honoured guests. Overall, it is probably as close to a five-star experience as you are likely to get anywhere within the Medina. Don't pass this gem by - I'm so glad I didn't.

What guests love
Areas to consider
Cleanliness
10/10Rooms described as clean on arrival but housekeeping was inconsistent (guests had to request cleaning, one party had rooms uncleaned for 5 nights). Minor maintenance issues (towel rail about to fall) and bathroom flooding risk due to no shower curtain affected perceived cleanliness/maintenance.
Service
10/10Consistently praised hospitality: warm welcome with mint tea, attentive owner/host (Marika) and staff, airport/meet-and-greet assistance, staff described as delightful and very helpful throughout the stay.
Location
10/10Multiple comments highlight an excellent location inside the medina, safe area, short walk (~10 minutes) to Jemaa el-Fnaa, easy to reach with the riad shuttle—location seen as a major positive.
Room Quality
10/10Rooms are nicely decorated with comfortable beds, but need some maintenance (towel rail loose, general upkeep). Some rooms closer to the courtyard are noisier than upstairs rooms.
Amenities
10/10Breakfast and dinner service available, airport shuttle recommended; breakfast generally plentiful but lacks variety (limited savory items, little/no fruit or yogurt). Lack of shower curtains/screens is a practical downside.
Value for Money
10/10Several guests found on-site dinner expensive (and large portions) compared with alternatives; overall value reduced by extra food cost and limited breakfast variety despite high service level.
Food and Beverage
10/10Breakfast repeatedly described as tasty and copious (fresh orange juice served daily). Dinner in the riad was delicious when tried, though menus/pricing varied and some desired more variety (fruit/yogurt).
Overall Experience
10/10Overall very positive: guests recommend the riad, many would return, citing authentic atmosphere, excellent hospitality and a safe, enjoyable stay despite minor cleaning and maintenance issues.
