Super netter Besitzer der einem bei allen Fragen geholfen hat. Nur 10min Fußweg zum See direkt am Lions Rock, also tolle Lage und aus dem Garten kann man ihn auch bisschen sehen. Auch das Frühstück war sehr lecker und man konnte dem Besitzer immer schreiben wenn man es haben will so war es immer noch frisch und warm

Lovely property, surrounded by nature. We stayed in the new chalets, the rooms were sizable, very clean and comfortable.The host Harsha and his family were very welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was good. Harsha, also helped us book our safari in Minneriya National Park and all of our transfers to other locations.

The room was perfect, and with all équipements needed, have a lot of place, and even equipment for electronic device from Europe, Food was avsolutely great and done localy, not spicy if needed, Activities sugestion like Safari and climbing were really great and very well organized, Harsha is also a very human person and is really happy to help, I forgot a bunch of stuff there and was able to get everything back in another city ! Thanks for this moment Harsha !

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt und können diese Unterkunft uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber, schön eingerichtet und gemütlich. Die Betten waren eher etwas härter, was für uns aber perfekt gepasst hat. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker, typisch sri-lankisch und abwechslungsreich. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir unseren Gastgeber. Er war sehr aufmerksam und hilfsbereit, ohne dabei aufdringlich zu sein. Er hat uns unter anderem eine Safari in Minneriya zu einem sehr fairen Preis organisiert. Man hat einfach gemerkt, dass ihm wichtig ist, dass seine Gäste sich wohlfühlen. Als wir erwähnt haben, dass wir bisher noch keine frische Kokosnuss bekommen hatten, hat er uns sogar direkt eine vom Baum geholt. Auch die Lage ist sehr gut. In unmittelbarer Nähe gibt es zwei sehr feine Restaurants, und innerhalb von etwa 10 Minuten erreicht man weitere wunderschöne Restaurants mit tollem Blick auf den Sigiriya Lion Rock. Vieles ist auch gut zu Fuss erreichbar.

Ein wirklich besonderer Aufenthalt! Die Betreiber sind unglaublich freundlich, herzlich und hilfsbereit. Alles war sehr sauber und die Lage mitten in der Natur macht Yashi’s Place zu einem echten Erlebnis. Absolutes Highlight war das fantastische, reichhaltige Frühstück. Klare Empfehlung für einen Aufenthalt in Sigiriya!

La ubicación es perfecta para ver sigiriya y lion rock, e incluso para hacer un safari en Minneriya. El entorno es una maravilla, en plena naturaleza, rodeados de monos y ardillas, con una calma perfecta para desconectar. Las cabañas están nuevas y muy cuidadas, además de impecablemente limpias (el alojamiento más limpio de todo nuestro viaje), con camas grandes y cómodas y un baño enorme. Pese a estar en medio de la naturaleza es el único alojamiento en el que no teníamos mosquitos en la habitación. Desayunos muy abundantes y tradicionales. Las cenas también estaban muy buenas. El dueño, super amable, nos ayudó a organizar traslados y orientarnos en nuestra visita. Si volvemos, repetiremos seguro.

The position was great, away from the hustle but close and just ashort walk to eateries and the Lions Rock. Harsha and his family were extremely accomodating, assisted with activities and we did a beautiful cooking class, had fresh coconut right from his garden 😋 thank you for a memorable stay!

We loved our stay at Yashi’s place. The bungalows were so comfortable and clean! Yashi was very helpful in organising activities for us such as a safari and a sunrise hike. Highly recommend. Breakfast was great! So much food every time we could never finish it!

Das Hotel hat uns extra eine Cabana als upgrade geschenkt, weil wir in den Flitterwochen waren. Die Cabana war extra mit Blumen eingerichtet und war sehr schön und sauber. Das Frühstück ist wirklich ausreichend und sehr sehr lecker! Mit schöner Aussicht in Mitte des Dschungels kann man es geniessen. An manchen Tischen sieht man sogar auf den grossen Felsen. Die Menschen waren alle sehr lieb hier! Vielen Dank! Wir waren sehr zufrieden:)

Die Gastgeber waren super freundlich und familiär, immer hilfsbereit und gewillt zu helfen. Es gibt einen eigenen „Garten“, wo man die Tierwelt beobachten kann (besonders die wildlebenden Affen waren für uns als erste Station in Sri Lanka sehr faszinierend). Das Frühstück war super gut. Zimmer waren super. Das Bad ist nichts besonderes und wird beim duschen auch nass - aber das war für uns vollkommen okay. Betten waren etwas hart, aber für uns auch in Ordnung. Besonders hervorzuheben: Der Gastgeber hat uns zufällig gesehen, wie wir von einem TukTuk-Fahrer zu einer „Touristenfalle“ gebracht wurden und uns per WhatsApp gewarnt. PS: das war der Herbal Garden - tatsächlich recht interessant, aber überteuerte Produkte, die verkauft werden sollen. Dürfte den meisten Leuten auch selbst auffallen, aber trotzdem sehr aufmerksam vom Gastgeber.

Bellissima struttura con una vista meravigliosa sulla roccia di Sigiriya! Harsha e la sua famiglia sono stati super accoglienti. Ottima colazione e cena. Harsha vi aiuterà a organizzare al meglio escursioni e trasporti. La struttura è a pochi passi dalla strada principale, ottima posizione. Camere molto pulite immerse in un giardino ben curato. Ci tornerò sicuramentte.

The most important thing with homestays like this is how the host and their family treat you - these guys were absolutely lovely. Harsha, the main man, is super-communicative and responsive, helped me and my wife out so many times with arranging things and being super flexible with eating times and whatnot. The rest of his family were an absolute delight, chatty, friendly and warm. The room was very comfortable and clean with everything you need. (To address another review, to turn the heat up on the shower, press the + button - it doesn’t look like it’s touchscreen but it is!) The food was great, both breakfast and dinner. Sigiriya itself is a very pleasant little place, there’s lots to do and it has a really nice “everyone knows everyone little village” vibe about it. It’s so relaxing here, there’s tonnes of greenery and you really feel like you’ve encroached a little into the jungle with the sounds of wildlife and general feel.

Amazing, authentic stay - the family are so lovely. We enjoyed playing board games and they were so helpful - we even forgot a jumper which they couriered to us. The room was also clean and we enjoyed the breakfast. WiFi also fantastic - which was helpful for a couple of calls we had.

Beautiful stay and garden close to all must-see spots in Sigiriya. The owner Yashi and his family were super friendly and welcoming - they even organised a private cooking class for us! The breakfast was amazing too :) Will definitely stay here again when we are back in Sri Lanka!

Loved this brilliant little place. The gardens are exceptional and the rooms are clean and comfortable. We were a party of 4 and were offered an additional room as we had a lot of luggage. The hospitality is what really shone through though. Genuinely lovely people in a great location on the edge of town. Breakfast was bountiful including fruits from the garden.

Had a wonderful stay at Yashi’s Place in Sigiriya. The owner was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. The food was delicious, and the fresh juices were the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka! A great place to stay, and I would happily recommend it to anyone visiting Sigiriya.

Se avrete bisogno di assistenza e consigli basterà chiedere al proprietario che vi saprà suggerire la soluzione migliore a seconda della stagione. Giardino con amache e piattaforma rialzata su albero dalla quale è possibile scrutare la foresta e non di rado vedere elefanti nelle tarde ore del pomeriggio o alla sera. Wir waren zwei Nächte bei Harsha und seiner Familie und hatten zwei der Häuser angemietet. Vom ersten Moment an haben wir uns unglaublich wohl und willkommen gefühlt. Die kleine, wunderschöne Anlage liegt ruhig zurückversetzt inmitten eines herrlichen Gartens und ist ein echter Wohlfühlort. Unsere Spitzdachhäuser waren fast neu, sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und absolut sauber. Abends saßen wir vor den Häusern, haben Tee getrunken und den schönen Ort am berühmten Lion’s Rock genossen – einfach traumhaft. Das Frühstück war außergewöhnlich lecker, sehr reichhaltig und typisch singhalesisch – ein echtes Highlight. Besonders schön war auch die herzliche Atmosphäre: Bei Harsha fühlt man sich schnell wie ein Teil der Familie. Wir haben auch zu Abend dort gegessen, alles sehr lecker. Ein weiteres unvergessliches Erlebnis war unsere Sonnenaufgangswanderung auf den Pidurangala Rock - Berg gegenüber dem Lion’s Rock –> absolut empfehlenswert. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen, uns rundum wohlgefühlt und wünschen Harsha und seiner Familie nur das Allerbeste. Sehr gerne würden wir wiederkommen, dann würden wir gleich einen Kochkurs mitbuchen.

Loved the garden view from the room, and it was the perfect place to base ourselves to see all the nearby sights and do an elephant safari. The owner fixed our AC issue at 2am, after I messaged at midnight and thought it wouldn't get fixed until the morning. Turns out the squirrels got in there and clogged the fan! But after that there was no issue. Breakfast was great, and it's also close to the main road where there were many restaurants.

We opted for the cheaper room category, which was perfectly fine but maybe a bit dated. The newly built cabins looked amazing and modern though!

Het is een klein paradijs in Sigiriya, gerund door een vriendelijke en behulpzame familie. 's Avonds kunt u ervoor kiezen om te dineren in de gezellige tuin van de accommodatie. De vrouw van de eigenaar bereidt de meest heerlijke gerechten. De locatie is perfect ten opzichte van de belangrijkste bezienswaardigheden. Op sommige dagen kunt u wilde olifanten zien; ze hebben een klein hutje, een soort boomhut, naast het hek. En vanuit het restaurant heeft u een prachtig uitzicht op het rotsfort van Sigiriya. Ze hebben ons geholpen met het boeken van een safari en de chauffeur was geweldig en had veel kennis van zaken. Als we de kans krijgen, komen we zeker terug naar Yashi's Place. Bedankt voor het fantastische verblijf!

Owners were wonderful, very welcoming and doing all for us trying to make us feel like at home. Breakfast made from own produce was so tasty. When enjoying your breakfast, you are watching Sigiriya rock from the tropical garden - this was an unexpected surprise! The dinner was amazing - home made meal - it is a must to stay for a dinner at Yashi’s place!

Doors at our family room did not close, but anti bug spray provided by the owners prevented any unpleasant bites.

The stay in Sigiriya at Yashis place was one of the highlights of our trip. We came to Sigiriya after having done the whole south trip, so we were quite relaxed without much expectations. When we arrived, Yashi had allocated one of his rooms to us. On Booking.com, we had seen the huts and asked if these were also available. He explained that they are not finalised and open for guests yet... However, if we are fine with a cold shower, we could be the first guests to rent one hat with a minor extra charge. We did this and it was the best experience. Brand new house, super clean, quiet and comfy bed. Yashi and his family were the best hosts, super kind and caring. Breakfast was great with the view in the beautiful garden and the lions rock. All restaurants are a few steps away only, laundry service was arranged and nice recommendations were included. A highlight was that we were invited to the birthday party of Yashi's wife and sang Karaoke together 🥰 So we definitely recommend the place, and wish Yashi and his family great success with the new huts :)

We loved our stay, it's a really good location, right next to a few nice restaurants and cafes. It's a 10 minute walk into town or a very short tuktuk ride. The lovely family were so kind and offered a beautiful Sri Lankan breakfast each morning and even offered to take us to the city bus station. We enjoyed being so immersed in nature as the sounds of wildlife are all around. Very clean room, welcome drinks on arrival. Aircon is a dream. Thank you so much!

That we couldn't stay longer

We had a wonderful stay at Yashi’s place. All rooms and cabins are situated in a very nice garden. It is very close to restaurants and center of Sigiriya but very quiet so you have a feeling of sleeping in a forest. What we enjoyed the most were breakfasts and dinners prepared by Harsha and his wife. It was like tasting all Sri Lankan curry specialities. Very delicious! We also had a chance to see the brand new cabins Harsha has just finished. Absolutely recommended for your stay! We would definitely return if we come once again to Sigiriya.

Die Unterkunft liegt ruhig abseits der Straße und lädt zum Entspannen ein. Trotzdem gibt es fußläufig ausreichend Lokale. Uns wurde geraten, am Abend nicht zu Fuß zu gehen (wegen der Elefanten), mit dem Tuktuk kostet es ca. 300 skr bis zur Kreuzung, wo die meisten Lokale sind. Das Frühstück war gut und ausgiebig. Der Vermieter war sehr freundlich. Er hat uns eine Nachtwanderung vermittelt, bei der man Loris und andere Tiere sehen konnte.

Das Moskitonetz war etwas schwierig über das Bett zu spannen, aber es war dennoch brauchbar.

Could benefit from additional useful furniture like foldable luggage racks. There is some sort of slanted wooden rigid drying rack but its useless for putting your luggage on since everything slides off. Wished there were hangers, or hooks on the walls to hang our belongings. We had to put our duffle bags on the floor because there is no where to put it which can be concerning for those who do not want insects crawling into their bags. There is no instructions on how to use the hot water heater in the bathroom to take hot shower. Did not know which knobs to turn. Will take awhile for foreigners to figure out because there was no instructions or demonstration at check in. Walls are thin so you can hear other guests but we always travel with ear plugs. Would not recommend their ride/travel service - overpriced and the driver was rude. The owners own their own travel agency and we thought it would be convenient to use it. We prepaid for the ride service for the entire trip. The driver was paid by the daily rate and was suppose to take us anywhere we need to go. The driver seem reluctant and would recommend that we pay for a Tuk Tuk if we needed to go somewhere in the afternoon. Why would I pay for a Tuk Tuk if I already paid for a full day ride service? It seemed the driver was trying to leave work early and get paid for the full day and this was only the second day of the trip. We brought this up to the owner and he talked to the driver. The driver was very rude to us after. We told the driver we will no longer need his service and requested a refund from the owner. The owner did refund us the remaining unused amount which we appreciated but things just felt very awkward after. We actually found a taxi/ride service from Tripadvisor that responded fast, provided great drivers in clean cars, cheaper than this property's transportation prices, and was very welcoming as Sri Lankans are known for.

Eine schöne Unterkunft mit Dschungel-feeling und Aussicht auf den Lions Rock. Das gesamte Ambiente war ruhig und entspannend und Yashi mit seiner ganzen Familie sehr herzlich. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und wir haben auch das Abendessen gebucht und fühlten uns wie „Jenseits von Sri Lanka“. Ganz besonders hat uns die bezaubernde kleine Tochter der Gastgeber mit ihrem fröhlichen Lachen, ihrer Neugier und ihrer offenen Art jeden Tag aufs Neue begeistert und wir haben sie direkt in unser Herz geschlossen. Yashi hat uns einen Tuktuk-Fahrer nach Polonnaruwa organisiert, ganz großartig, und auf dem Rückweg gab es noch Elefanten am Straßenrand zu sehen. Zum Lions Rock und in den Ort kann man zu Fuß gehen und Yashi hilft bei allen anderen Unternehmungen. Wir empfehlen sehr gerne weiter, vielen Dank für die schöne Zeit!
