Urban Galle Villa

Ich wurde sehr nett empfangen und habe mich von Anfang an wohl und sicher gefühlt. Alles war sehr sauber und das Frühstück war ausgesprochen lecker. Besonders schön war, dass man das Frühstück auf einem gemütlichen Balkon genießen konnte. Hervorheben möchte ich außerdem die tolle Kommunikation und die hilfreichen Tipps für meine Weiterreise. Vielen Dank für den schönen Aufenthalt! Ich würde jederzeit wiederkommen!

Als ik dan toch iets negatiefs kan zeggen is de matras met veren die je er voelt doorkomen!

Struttura familiare immersa nella natura (sui tetti si possono vedere scimmie e scoiattoli) gestita da proprietari gentilissimi. Camera grande e ben fornita, con aria condizionata. Colazione abbondante con uova, frutta e pane tostato, servita in terrazza. Inoltre la struttura ha anche una bella piscina, estremamente piacevole visto il caldo. Ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo.

Per muoversi è necessario prendere un tuk tuk o auto, non vi sono strade adatte per pedoni (questo per chi vuole muoversi esclusivamente a piedi) Il bagno non è nuovissimo, ma comunque la doccia presenta acqua calda. Ovviamente essendo nella natura non bisogna meravigliarsi qualora ci siano insetti, che potrebbero entrare anche in camera.

On a réservé toute la villa. J’ai retrouvé les employés en train de dormir dans la quatrième chambre . J’ai été aussi surpris lors du retour du restaurant de retrouver toute la famille en train de manger sur la terrasse. Après je ne connais pas suffisamment les coutumes du pays !

Very nice villa, quiet and even has a swimming pool. The owner is very nice and helpful. The breakfast is absolutely fantastic.

The shower head needs to be fixed. The location is a bit far away from the center. The room is a bit small.

The villa is located just 10mins Tuk tuk ride from Galle Fort surrounded by palm trees, banana trees with monkeys, parrots and peacocks. Capa our host was amazing - nothing was too much problem and he made the best breakfast.

This was located a bit further away from the bustling Galle Fort, so the atmosphere was very peaceful and it was within a village and hence, very much closer to nature and its natural sounds rather than the traffic noises and it was ideal for us. Would highly recommend to those looking for a quiet and peaceful getaway! The breakfast was so yummy and was totally worth the money paid. There was always a mix of fruits, coffee, eggs and toast along with some traditional Sri Lankan cuisine, which is really nice for foreign visitors. The pool area was also ideal for relaxing. Highly recommend to any solo traveller, couples and also small families for a relaxing getaway in Galle!!!

Perfect start to our trip, quick access to Galle Fort, nice area. The breakfast was amazing, great pool with local birds hanging nearby. Very nice and helpful host, who also arranged our airport pick up.

The Urban Galle was the perfect stay! Big thanks to the host who was super friendly and always there when we needed a hand. The rooms were clean and comfy, but the pool was the real winner - the best spot to cool off and just relax. Totally recommend!

The hosts were so kind, generous and friendly. They gave us a welcome drink which was fresh and tasty, they gave us pool towels and allowed our friend to visit the pool, where the gave us free mango juice. Breakfast was really authentic and tasty, and you sit on a beautiful veranda overlooking the greenery as you eat.

Sometimes loud dog fights at night outside but just wear ear plugs!

We had the pleasure of staying at Urban Galle Villa at the end of our amazing holiday in Sri Lanka. It was the perfect, peaceful place to stay, relax by the pool and watch the beautiful bird life in the area. It is only a short tuk tuk ride to the Galle Fort where we went each afternoon to explore and have dinner. The Villa is very comfortable and clean and the hosts are very welcoming, helpful and kind. They also helped us book tuk tuk rides when needed. The breakfast was delicious and a very generous serving. We would thoroughly recommend staying there and wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you so much!

The Best thing was the absolut friedly people ( specially Kepa). We have been there with two small kids and they just gave us the feeling that we’re totally welcome. The breakfast was amazing, we got every morning some new original Sri Lankian food to taste, but even some toast and lots of fruits. The pool area was also very nice to have and the villa is in a very calm area, with two wonderful, lonely beaches.

Room was basic with balcony. Breakfast was good with lot of different food and it was served outside :) I stayed only one night and arrived late, so no idea about the surroundings.

Die Anlage ist schön und gepflegt. Sie liegt ca 10 Minuten (mit dem Tuktuk) entfernt von Galle fort. In der Nähe, 10 Minuten fussläufig, gibt es ein sehr nettes Restaurant, sodass man abends nicht unbedingt in die Stadt fahren muss. Besonders hervorzuheben ist, wie wahnsinnig nett die Gastgeber sind! Es war immer jemand vor Ort und ansprechbar, und ich wurde an meinem Abreisetag netterweise auch noch zum Bahnhof gefahren.

Simpel, maar alles wat je nodig hebt. Uitgebreid ontbijt. Zeer behulpzaam personeel dat graag met je meedenkt. Alles is goed bereikbaar met de tuktuk. Fijn zwembad voor een heerlijke verkoeling.

Nektere veci by bylo dobre doladit, zavirani dveri v koupelne, prvni noc byl citit odpad, ale nic dramatickeho, urcite bychom se ubytovali znovu.

Everything was done to ensure we had a great stay. The pool was refreshing and the property like a lush spa.Loved bird watching from the balcony! Lots of good beach restaurants to walk to.

We absolutely love the place and the hospitality of Arinda and Duvinda. It was our first stop and we felt so safe and welcome there. We stayed for 4 nights, first in the room with balcony, later in the double bed room, and really missed a place which we liked so much afterwards. The breakfast included European food and different Sri Lankan food which was always lovely to discover. Fresh juices too :) Thx for that Arinda! There is a beautiful natural beach within walking distance, not touristy. For New Year's Day the owners gifted us incense sticks which was a lovely gesture. We took tuk tuks to restaurants or Galle closeby and you can also order food on the pickme app. The pool is a true gem to relax on a hot day and in general there are lovely sitting corners at this villa. Would come anytime again :)

Excellent service – the guys were always smiling and helpful. Whenever I wanted a cup of tea (and they have excellent tea), it was never a problem. Very varied (something changed every day), large, and delicious breakfasts. A very pleasant pool, which was never crowded and perfect for a leisurely swim. Good location – close to Galle, yet quiet and peaceful. I could relax. Tharinda – thank you for everything!!!

A few things could be improved - the facility and rooms require some renovation and investment

We spent a fabtastic 6 days at the Galle Urban Villa. Duminda and his brother, Tharinda, we're very kind and welcoming. The villa was perfectly clean and the pool area was actually sanctuary set amongst the trees and vines. Duminda booked a series of tours for us in the local area which gave us an insight to Southern Sri Lanka. These included, the Cinnamon Island, Galle Fort, Udawalawe National Park, Sonharaja Forest Reserve and Lumbini Tea Factory. Look forward to returning next time!

Das Frühstück war abwechslungsreich und reichlich, mit vielen Zutaten aus lokaler Küche! Weitere Pluspunkte waren der Pool und der außergewöhnlich freundliche und hilfsbereite Servicemitarbeiter. Obwohl 5 km vom Zentrum entfernt leicht mit öffentlichen Bus und Tuck Tuck erreichbar.

Staying here was good for a short stay in Galle. While a little far from the Fort, it was about a 12 minute tuk ride. I think this is more of a home stay than a hotel, but the service was excellent! I originally booked the bottom floor, but thought I have booked the top. The staff, Capa, allowed me to choose from all the rooms since I was the only visitor during my stay- so nice! He also helped talk to my tuk drivers when they couldn't find the pick up location to go into town, and let me check out late in time to catch my train. Great service! The room did the job, it had what was needed for a short stay and had no frills. Would recommend a stay here.

Everything was nice, the bathroom and room are big, there is also a balcony. The pool was clean and handy after an active day. The staff was nice and helpful.

The location is a bit off, but you easily catch pickme and the dinner and lunch can be delivered as well.

Het was een geweldige plek, we hebben nog een nacht bijgeboekt omdat het ons zeer goed beviel. Een mooi huis, heerlijk zwembad, lekkere bedden, zeer uitgebreid ontbijt, en een persoonlijke benadering. Bijzonder fijn! Aanrader. Thank you Tharinda!

Sehr ruhig. Hammer Pool. Nettes Personal. Viel Frühstück (Obst, Yoghurt, Ei, Saft, Tee, Kaffee, Muffins, Toast, Pfannkuchen, variierende nationale Speisen).

Wlan war nicht ganz optimal und hat lange zum Laden gebraucht. Essen liefert nicht viel aber dann muss man halt jeden Tag 20min vor zu den Restaurants laufen.

Eine wunderbare, geräumige und stilvoll eingerichtete Villa mit schönem Pool, feinem Morgenessen und super Service. Die Villa liegt etwas abseits von Galle, der Transport mit TukTuks war jedoch problemlos und unkompliziert. Der Owner Duminda hat einen abenteuerlichen Halbtagesausflug für uns organisiert und uns zum Abschluss zum Udawalawe NP chauffiert. Durch Duminda konnten wir viele spannende Facetten von Sri Lanka kennenlernen.

The hotel was small and personal with excellent friendly staff. Breakfast was excellent and quiet location allowed an opportunity to observe the wildlife.

The place is very clean and feels like home. The pool is lovely, surrounded by nature, and the breakfast was very good. Staff were super friendly. It’s a great option if you want to stay a bit outside the busy town of Galle. We had a tuktuk, so getting around was easy.

Amazing pool, spacious bedrooms, and a super helpful rotating staff of caretakers that knew when to assist and when to hang back. The location is a quiet secluded residential area about a 6-min tuk ride from Galle Fort.

The downstairs living area was always pretty hot as there was no AC and the fan only ran on a slow speed. However, the bedroom ACs were all powerful and comfortable!

El lugar es una villa es decir una casa como un ves and breakfast. Pero está limpio, recién renovado con una linda piscina. Lo único que hay que considerar es que Galle es una ciudad amurallada y la gran atracción es la ciudadela pero este hotel está fuera más bien al norte. Un poco alejado. Eso pasa mucho en sri Lanka. Dormir en el fuerte debe ser caro y menos tranquilo quizá que esta opción

El personal entra en las habitaciones aunque cierres con llave a apagar el aire acondicionado nos dijeron pero nos dio desconfianza ver que los dos dias que estuvimos entraron en nuestras habitaciones cuando no estabamos

L hotel è un po’ fuori dal centro di Galle ma in una posizione molto tranquilla. La camera era pulita, il letto grande e comodo. La porta del bagno leggermente difettosa, non si chiudeva, ma per il resto tutto assolutamente ok. Il personale è stato molto gentile, la colazione servita sulla terrazza molto buona!

The swimming pool is clean and a little paradise! The room has a/c. Breakfast was big and really good. The guys at the urban galle villa are always nice, welcoming and smiley!

The door of our bathroom didn’t close and neither the windows. There was hot water in the shower, but even at maximum heat the water was warm-ish.

One of the most relaxed stays in Sri Lanka. Rooms were big and clean. People were nice and breakfast good. Swimming pool pleasent and clean. Galle is easy reachable with tuk tuk. Unfortunatelly we were stuck in the hotel for a day because of sickness. But glad it was here.

Loved this villa off the beaten track. Everything you need to be comfortable. Amazing price especially with breakfast included. Pool is lovely to relax in after a busy day in town. Everything is clean. Staff are amazing and helpful, organised transport, accom and safari for us the next day.

Breakfast was good. The pool is pleasant. Staff are helpful. A/C worked well. There are two outstanding restaurants nearby - Luuma and Shelter Beach - both went a long way towards improving our stay.

The hotel needs some finessing. Most of windows and doors don't line up with the catches. Plug sockets were loose. Sadly the neighbouring properties are residential. One neighbour had a radio blaring from 7am which woke all of us up. Second night, neighbourhood dogs started a 'conversation' loudly, from 2am - 4am. Sleep was impossible. Additionally, there was a loud pump running intermittently on the roof of our room - needs to be relocated, which the owner is intending to do. I hate leaving a bad review, as they are genuinely pleasant, but a few days with a general handyman tidying up and do small jobs would help. Neighbours cant be helped, which is sad for the hotel.

These guyssss <3 could not have been better. They were so genuinely interested in us having a lovely time. As a woman travelling alone with a kid, I felt so safe and even in just two nights I felt very familiar. Everything was a reasonable price, they were actively ensuring we didn’t get ripped off. The place was extremely clean and my son LOVED the pool so much. They really went out of their way for him, taking him to a lovely personable hatchery and even to the factory of a jewellers to, with guidance, make a ring himself out of a gem he picked himself. It was a truly special experience here
