Superior værelset var rigtig fint. Sengen god. Men søvnen led under megen støj. Meget trafik i området - og megen støj fra nærliggende bar. Havde bestilt og betalt for ophold med kontenental morgenmad. Det viste sig at være een ting man kunne vælge. Hvis man eksempelvis ville have blot en lille portin yoghurt med drys udover, blev man bon'et for 12 euro.

The room was perfect for a one night stay in Athens before an early morning flight. The room was well appointed and very comfortable, albeit it took a bit of fiddling with the window to get the air conditioner to work properly. Communication with Marina was great and the location was perfect for exploring all the best Monastiraki has to offer. The only downside was the lack of soundproofing on the doors (we could regularly hear doors slamming during the late evening and guests talking in the hallways). Otherwise an enjoyable stay and would happy stop by again next time we’re in Athens. Thank you!

Tres bien placé dans le centre d'Athènes et proche des lieux antique. Parcontre nous avions une chambre coté rue et nous avons eu pas mal de bruit surtout la nuit. Mais sejour très bien passé.

Très bel hôtel, bien placé, au centre de la vieille ville. Les chambres sont bien decorées et agréables. Le personnel sympathique et les petits dejeuner sont excellent. Nous retenons l'adresse et la conseillerons à nos proches qui veulent visiter Athènes.

This hotel has limited check-in hours. In the event, you miss the check-in window, walk into the hotel door, open the door on your left and walk into the restaurant which will be empty. Continue walking and on the right hand side there will be a table that likely has a key card for your room. If you continue walking further back within the restaurant, there is an elevator on the right hand side past the bathrooms. This hotel is fantastic, Maria is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is amazing so given the opportunity to include it in your stay, I would highly recommend though it is still available for purchase. This is located near many sites and very walkable to shops, restaurants and other things. We would stay here again. Keep in mind hotels in Europe do not have conditioner or wash clothes so come prepared.

L’hôtel est bien. Notre chambre était propre et spacieuse. La climatisation fonctionnait bien. L’arrivée était un peu compliquée si on arrive après 16h. Le code d’accès qui nous a été fourni pour entrer ne fonctionnait pas.

Loved our stay here!! Very nice rooms and location is unbeatable! Walking distance to main attractions and lots of restaurants nearby! Marina was an excellent host, helped us around a lot during our stay!

The staff members were very friendly. The room was very clean and the location is really close to all the city centre attractions.

It was very hot in Athens for my three day stay. This is my second stay at the Dogpound and I really loved it the first time. The price is right and it is very central. Check in was easy with keys left for us. The rooms are large and comfortable. My only problem is that I feel there was little support or attention when I needed something. For example my air conditioner was working but on the last night I couldn’t get the temperature lower than 26 degrees. I also had to seek out the person to pay for my accomodation.

The staff was very friendly and communicated well. Room wasn’t ready when we arrived but they were prompt about letting us know via WhatsApp. They helped carry our luggage upstairs. The location is awesome! Wish we had more time to spend here. Photos are from across the street.

Excellent location. Almost located at the city center. Marina was helpful. Room was nice and clean. Just to say that please add a customer to the wall for the wet towel.

The location is excellent! 2-3 minute walk to Monastiraki Sq. and the subway to the airport. Nice Boutique hotel.

No information was provided about late check in. When we arrived, the door was locked, and we were left standing outside in the heat. We eventually got help from other hotel guests to get inside. When we finally received our room, the air conditioning didn’t work, and the circuit breaker kept tripping. The window faced an elevator shaft, so there was no access to fresh air, and it was 39°C in Athens. It was impossible to get in touch with the hotel. No one responded to phone calls or messages, and I still haven’t received any reply to my inquiries. Hotels.com tried to contact the hotel on my behalf, but they refused to offer any compensation. We ended up sleeping with wet towels just to be able to stay in the room. Completely absent customer service and no willingness to resolve the situation.

Didn’t have code to get in after hours, so had to stay in another hotel on first night. Dog pound was sorry and credited our first night.

Easy to find, via Metro from airport. Friendly welcome from staff, who were very helpful and pleasant throughout our stay. Breakfast was delicious. Fridge and kettle in our room, which were bonuses. Shower and products all of good quality. Hairdryer also provided. Very comfortable bed. A/C if required. USB sockets useful to have by bedside. Would definitely recommend, as handy for good places to eat, also.

We stayed for 5 nights with some friends, staying in 3 rooms. Myself and partner stayed in the room with rooftop access. Dogpound Hotel is a very convenient location, a couple of minutes walk from Monistiraki metro station (which goes from the airport), and near to many tourist sites, places to eat, etc. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and all rooms that we saw were similarly modern and clean - one had balcony access with a table and hammock (also lovely for chatting with friends). There was an issue with the hot water not working on the first morning (unrelated to turning on the boiler), but they fixed it the same day and no issues for the rest of our stay. The breakfasts were amazing. We all tried different options and were happy with all of them, in particular, the overnight breakfast bowl and the egg/salsa were most popular. We never explored anywhere else for breakfast as we really enjoyed the food here. The main concern for our room was the stairwell didn't leave much space on one side of the bed, making it difficult for the person on that side to get in and out of the bed. It also made accessing the storage area for clothes difficult, so I wouldn't recommend this room for those with mobility challenges (perhaps the balcony access option might work better).

Cuando prendia paea que saliera el agua caliente, esperaba mis 15 minutos, me bañaba y el agua caliente no duraba ni 5 minutos. Adicional quise usar la tetera para agua caliente y desprendia restos blancos, no estaba limpia. Frenre hay un bar, se escuchaba todo durante la noche

The location and decor was very very good! Being only minutes away from the metro was very handy. The breakfast was delicious, it’s a shame it started at 8am as had to miss it two days out of three due to tours and early ferries. The rooms were not soundproofed at all! We could hear everything going on in rooms and the corridor, I didn’t get a full nights sleep the whole time I was there due to the noise ( I don’t think people were being exceptionally noisy, it’s just that the walls were so thin!) We also found check in not very easy. The instructions before hand were great but it wasn’t clear where ‘reception’ was at all when we got there and ended up walking around lost in the hotel for a while. If you’re a heavy sleeper or have ear plugs I would have no hesitation in staying, however for the noise alone we wouldn’t recommend

Very hip and well located property. Breakfast was exceptional. Would definitely recommend for anyone wanting to explore the centre of Athens and for access to cool rooftop terraces and bars in the centre.

Although it was tricky trying to navigate with the multiple luggages on a narrow street, hotel has a good vibe once we got in. Marina was very helpful once we got in, got an early check in. Place has an elevator which helps with luggages. Place was clean well-lit and well decorated. AC, fridge and water heater was a huge plus. Conveniently located near restaurant, bars, shops, and about 15-20 minutes walk to the Acropolis. Would book again if Im at the area.

Clean and well furnished hotel in the heart of the city. Noisy at night, as expected, as the road is a thoroughfare for people and cars in the middle of the city. Check-in and checkout process was easy.

Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen, die Unterkunft ist sehr sauber und liegt direkt im Zentrum von Athen, man kann von dort aus alles zu Fuß erreichen. Marina war sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich.

Marina was an excellent host! She made some excellent recommendations for our stay in Athens and then in Paros! She also allowed us to store luggage for our trip to Paros and then allowed for early check in on our return!

This was our first visit to Athens. The location was perfect and in close walking distance to all the main attractions. Marina and staff were very friendly and accommodating! The space was clean and well maintained! We especially enjoyed the sourdough sandwiches at the Proof Nanobakery in the lobby!

the location is the best! one min from the metro and monostraki square. there are bars, restaurant just s few steps from the hotel. the stuff was very nice, everything we asked for, they were happy to serve. marina was vey kind about everything. very recommend!!

Good location and value

Nice and clean Hotel. Location is perfect - the metro station is only 2 minutes away and you can visit a lot of places of interest on foot.

We stayed three nigths at the Dogpound in February. The hosts are very friendly albeit not always punctual. On the first morning the person responsible for breakfast arrived late for breakfast service. Breakfast is limited to 4 choices, everything however is tasty. Because we stayed in winter and the communal area is open to the street 24/7 the place was cold hence we had to sit with coats while munching our food. The rooms are generous and have everything you need for a comfy stay. The only way of heating the rooms is by using the aircon in "reverse". Unfortunately this stopped working on day 2 when the temperatures dropped in Athens. My room was facing the street and you want to be aware that Greek people can be a noisy bunch at night. Bring earbuds ! Overall nice stay but I reckon if we come back we would not stay for more than 1 night or go elsewhere.

This hotel turned out to be a complete nightmare. I booked this hotel for 5 nights. I left after my 2nd night . I forgot my key card inside my room when I went to get some food late at night. When I returned I could not get inside my room and there was no staff on duty to help. I ended up being stranded in the lobby/kitchen area over night. It wasn’t until 7am until the owners husband let me into my room. I didn’t sleep the entire night. I also never had hot water. I took cold showers. The a/c heating unit was also not functioning. The breakfast was also very poor. I requested a refund from the owner which was denied. She said they were knew and trying to worst things out. Not my problem! After leaving them a bad review, she then threatened me with her lawyer to remove my review. Unbelievable!

The place was very clean ,increadibly well located and very comfortable .Marina upgraded us to a very nice room,will definately visit again.

The hotel is located above a pizza place. The rooms are unique, beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. The pizza and breakfast is delicious! The location is perfect and within walking distance of everything you’d possibly need or want to see, or to transportation to get you to anywhere that’s beyond walking distance. The staff is extremely kind and proud of this place and I don’t blame them. They’re doing an amazing job! Thank you for ending our stay in Greece with hospitality, comfort, and kindness!

Recently renovated and very nice hotel room. Sound proof windows so you don’t hear the outside noise at night. Easy location to get to from subway station and close to everything by walking distance. Marina was very friendly and helpful with check in and check out, and everything in between. Highly recommend it.

Nous avons séjourné 2 jours mi-juin dans ce très bon hôtel, tout neuf et propre. Extrêmement bien situé, vous pouvez faire toutes les visites à pied ! Le lit est confortable, la salle de bain est grande et spacieuse. Marina nous a bien accueilli avec le sourire et nous a recommandé des restaurants à Athènes. Il y a le bar au rez de chaussée qui n’est pas encore tout à fait terminé, mais comme dit dans un autre avis, vu tous les bars et restaurants à Athènes ce n’est pas dérangeant ! A mon goût, il manquerait juste une machine à café, un sèche cheveux et disposer d’une bouteille d’eau dans la chambre et cela serait parfait !

They are renovating the hotel but the front desk person Marina makes us for inconvenience. She is very welcoming overly helpful to make your stay great. She a guide go to person for all of Athens even she was honest with me about the place I’m staying next. The location is next to everything. The too is updated a very very clean! I loved my stay!

Our reservation was cancelled by the property one day before we were due to arrive
