Nous avons aimé notre nuit au sein de l’hôtel. L’accueil était chaleureux.
Location was good Never eat breakfast
I went to the front dest a few time to pay for my stay and no one was there.
The steps at the entrance.
Parking was absolutely horrible. There is no clear direction on parking. You cant park at the property and there's a sign which says to park through the second left turn.when you make the turn, every where on the street is filled with no parking signs. Apparently you are supposed to know that you have to get out your car, somehow unlock a chain barrier (which is also marked 'No parking') and park in that area. Other parking is across the road at a completely different facility with no security and no cameras. Expect vandalism. Also, the shower was filthy. There is mold in the corners and on the shower pipes. For the 3 nights I was there, I had hot water 0 times. You can hear your neighbors even though all the doors are closed. The vanity in the bathroom is too big and takes up 80% of the space. Poor design. The wifi and cable TV was terrible. Constantly buffering. We were not able to watch anything as it was too frustrating.
Maxwell Del Mar is in a great location. It lies between Oistins and St Lawrence gap which are both popular visitor spots where you can find reasonably priced food and places that offer entertainment. There are local buses that run frequently to the main town (Bridgetown) Maxwell beach is within walking distance. There are other beautiful beaches (browns beach) just a short bus ride away. The sand at Browns beach is stunning and the food is lovely.
I checked in on Monday, the Cafe/restaurant didn't open until the Thursday. The breakfast that I wanted (saltfish and bake) wasn't available on the morning I requested it. 2 of the mornings I think there might have been a children's party. It was quite noisy but I think that's more due to my room entrance being on the side entrance to the garden. When leaving my room I had to knock before I opened the door as I had children dancing infront of my door.
Exeptional service and staff. The hotel is affordable and convenient. The rooms were clean with the smell of fresh linen. Would recommend!
I liked the interaction with the staff wished the dining room was opened for later otherwise great location room very comfortable
I loved everything about it I will surely be back
Food was good.
This hotel needs some serious attention to its rooms. I checked in a room with a lot of broken stuff, the images online didn’t look the same. The parking a lot is not directly onsite and the area for parking doesn’t feel safe at night. This should be listed as a motel for the price paid!!
I love this location and the staff is so friendly.
Check in process needs to be improved.
Cozy clean and comfy. Close to my the wedding location but away from too many tourists
Great stay for one night!
Nice friendly staff, their restaurant was good, but we rather go elsewhere as the menu was small. But the food we did get was good. Only thing that was not good was Saturday night they have a DJ who played music way too loud and until 12 midnight. I get that its a vacation/party vibe but the rooms are not very sound proof.Which brings me to the next, we could hear our neighbor talk and hear his tv. Im sure he could hear us too. Other than that we liked it.
The hotel was very affordable I loved the fact that it had a restaurant and bar and i didnt have to worry about walking far to find food. Mr Hal at the reception was exceptionally helpful and very kind during my stay. He made sure i was taken care of including getting me a taxi back to the airport on time. I really enjoyed my stay. Id definitely return
It was a great stay, the room was small but it was very clean and the staff was always helpful.
Maxwell Delmar is a nice inexpensive place to stay , nice newer rooms, nice staff , good food
Beautiful ambience
Have a great pool
It was peaceful and relaxing
No hot water our second night. Toilet seat broken, bathroom sink clogged, No TV service first night. No receptionist after 5pm. Female restaurant worker with bad attitude. The front desk receptionist, when available, was extremely nice, that's why 3 stars.
No hot water, toilet seat broken. The receptionist was extremely nice , but by 5pm no reception. The lady at the restaurant was rude. We decided not to eat there
Nice so till
Staff were friendly. Room was neat and tidy. No complaints. Would stay there again
Loved my stay, thank you!
This room was booked for a 2 person 7 day vacation March 14th-21st.. The room offered was as tiny as it gets. Even though i confirmed for 2 persons ahead of travel... When i mentioned we'd like to changeroom the pregnant staff was highly pregnant with attitude.. Seems like i was a bother. The bathroom is literally above the bedhead. Television didn"t work. This hotel room will serve 1 person for 3 days Max. Will not stay here ever again Moved out next day aavaommodation ahead of time
Cute little hotel... rooms are lovely, grounds a little dated but kept very clean. The food was really good in the restaurant and Hal the bartender is great! It's very reasonable considering the proximity to beach and having a nice little pool around back. A little noisy from being on main road, but handy as well! Would recommend for sure..
Quiet
The hotel is situated on a public road, providing convenient access to public transportation, including buses to and from Bridgetown and Oistins. However, heavy traffic persists throughout the day and late into the night, particularly on weekends. Access to Maxwell Beach is about 500 mts (546.8 yards). This is one of the most beautiful and cleanest beaches in the area, even when there are 3 resorts. There are no kiosks and bars on the beach, so come prepared. I just wish there would be restaurants nearby and that the surrounding neighborhood was not so abandoned.
I’m going to need a bigger box…Arrived for our 4 night stay in an Elite Room only to be directed to a small, dingy basement accommodation. One small window that would not even open and looked out onto a concrete walkway, not the pool area we had reserved. NO hot water, nowhere to sit in the room except on the lumpy bed. TV was impossible to operate. Asked for a blanket, got a story about why we couldn’t get one as well as pool/beach towels which we offered as an amenity. We asked for a different room but were told they were booked up however we saw only 1 single guest on our 2nd day and after chatting with him he was equally disappointed. We never ate in the restaurant. NEVER AGAIN!
Love Mathew!! He’s amazing
Matthew was amazing. Sheree was rude and helpful. Rooms were only cleaned 2 times during our 7 day trip. There was no hot water for shower.
My room didn't have Hot water only luke warm water. My channels was constantly buffering. However the staff tried the best to assist me
My room had a mold spot on the ceiling. The stafff were just okay not extra nice or rude. The room was small but good enough for 1 person.
Very comfortable rooms, and friendly staff, a well enjoyed stay. Not very close to restaurant options but nevertheless, a good stay.
The place was Very clean .. smelled really Nice when I Walked in . I would definitely visit again.
Clean. Thin walls you can hear noise. But all good
We didn't stay in hotel but we went to the restaurant the food was amazing and service was even better, made us feel so welcome will definitely be going back here while we are on our ten night stay. Drinks were also good , Our glasses were never empty.
It was definitely worth it. I’ll be back
Great hotel for our short 2-night stay in Barbados. Comfortable room with good restaurant and bar service. Easy local bus service to Oistins fish restaurant area which is highly recommended👍 Overall good value - nice stay! Recommended.
Ideal for a couple of nights on the island. Really enjoyed going to Oistins fish market area for dinner both nights - highly recommend!! Local buses to/from v cheap ‘n cheerful but a bit of risk (speed, safety etc) Maxwell del Mar is a well run small but very comfortable 3* hotel - great for travel on a budget 👍👍👍
We stayed here for 2 weeks in February and it was the perfect base for our holiday - it is a small hotel with just 10 rooms but it suited our needs perfectly for a reasonable price for Barbados. Being on the main road you can hop on a bus to Oistins, Bridgetown and anywhere in between! It’s a short walk to Dover beach and from there the Gap. A quick mention to Hal and Matthew 2 members of staff who really made our stay - they are both super helpful and really friendly and a credit to the hotel.
We sent the hotel a message weeks before going with questions and never got a response, we knew that front desk waa only available during certain hours but even when they were "open" the door was closed and nobody around, we ended up having to go over to the diner to get someone to help us.
The best hotel in town. Thanks for your service.
Good solid hotel near good transport links and st Lawrence gap. Marked down slightly as food was pretty poor
Great location, super close to the beach and main road. Large bed, clean room, great staff. I would highly recommend.
Good location, friendly and helpful staff
Good service
The hotel was new, nice restaurants, room was clean.nice area, wi fi worked.i would recommend this hotel if you plan to visit Barbados.
Very nice hotel, clean , comfortable , equipt with every connivence i would book it again and highly recommend
We enjoyed our stay at Maxwell del Mar. Staff are friendly and having a small bar/restaurant on-site was helpful for breakfast and drinks. The pool is small but enough to sit around and occasional dips. Best is really the location. It’s not right down on the St Lawrence Gap strip, but that’s only a 15 minute walk away, where there are plenty of bars and Dover Beach where you can easily swim with turtles. There’s also bus stops right outside the hotel from which you can easily get to Bridgetown, Holetown etc, and in the other direction Oistins (which is only a 20-25 min walk, great for the Friday night fish market).
The hotel has lovely staff and is located about a 2 minute walk from the beach with wild monkeys jumping through the trees. The room is a reasonable size with a balcony but they only give you one chair for the balcony. The food in the restaurant was lovely and would definitely recommend the Thursday BBQ night. Great selection of drinks. However communication is poor as three times the restaurant just shut up shop early afternoon with no communication so we couldn’t order something to eat. There are other eateries nearish but all a ten minute walk. The doors and windows are NOT very sound proof so you hear all the road and people noise and every time someone enters the property the main door bangs shut and makes you jump in the middle of the night. The night staff sit in the atrium and are on their phones overnight which ordinarily would not be an issue but with the little sound proofing you listen to what they listen to….. All night. The room was clean and functional apart from the middle shower which needs replacing. Again staff in the restaurant are fantastic and friendly. It was a fair price for the island. The pool is clean and surrounding area is kept clean. The property is a non smoking property.
Absolutely enjoyed my stay at Maxwell del Hotel. It’s in a lovely spot, close to all amenities if you like walking.Beaches nearby Oistens walkable Worthing. The annoying part of the booking is if your room faces the main road. You are only guaranteed a good nights sleep from midnight to 05:00. The other annoyance is the housekeeping services were extremely poor. In 16 days my sheets with a complete makeover happend only twice! Hence I found myself begging for clean towels and loo rolls. Overall do not let this put you off. Lovely staff especially Hal and Mathew.
We were not guests at the hotel but attended the restaurant that does not appear to have its own TripAdvisor listing. The restaurant was incredible and offered value that we did not realize even existed in Barbados. I recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Stall was amazing and Room is very clean and nice .Food at the restaurant was great too .location was great
Staffs were friendly
I love everything about the hotel I will be back
I love the convenience of this property, feels welcoming and homely. Always a pleasure to walk into the room on checking in. The staff are always friendly and engaging. I had a 2 night stay and was disappointed that the room wasnt cleaned and no fresh towels. I was also locked out of my room and almost missed my flight, the security had to wake a guest to open the buzz door.
Very good hotel
Customer service and food was great
Wonderful Boutique Hotel... service was friendly...breakfast was good...nice pool grounds...right on the road so easy to catch the van...it loved it...can't wait to go back
My stay was ok for the time I was there
The property itself from the outside does not look inviting. Needs redorating. Inside room was clean enough but could be cleaner in the bathroom and needed updating shower & around shower floor, toilet & sink. Otherwise, Hal who runs the restaurant etc is the most helpful, polite & loveliest man I’ve met.
The hotel was nice and clean all the time and the staff was very friendly. The restaurant was close early on Mondays and Tuesday which was inconvient.
Hal and the other Wait staff are gems, the House Keeper however marred what would have been an excellent stay. I was there for four nights and my room was cleaned once and only after I asked, despite the in room literature indicating that it would be cleaned daily. Literature within the room also provides other outdated information such as closing times for the onsite restaurant and many menu items were not available.
Overall a pleasant experience. Foodwas just just ok.
Great staff and location. Very close to the beach which is a plus. I would recommend.
I recently stayed at Maxwell and had an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making me feel right at home. Mister Hal was amazing treated me like family. The waitress at the restaurant was nice. Nadia who checked me in accommodated us we were greatful. I will definitely stay here again. Highly recommend.
Very comfortable sleep and stay, quiet and relaxing hotel. Seating outside to just sit and chill with a book, phone or just own thoughts, lol. Have channels that can watch for entertainment. Small pool to swim and enjoy, beach in walking distance and parking across the road available. Decent breakfast. Didn't like the walk in shower as called it normally the shower head system...for some reason we just could not get it understood with the 3 faucet system and heating control. Helpful and cool Receptionists.
Poor management
I like the hospitality of the staff.
Awesome property, cook needs a bit more training! Property has the potential to be a 4/5 star with the kitchen food being addressed!
The staff were all very good and 'helpful' at all times. The food was excxellent. I shall recommend the hotel, to all my friends and colleagues, back in Wales. Regards.
The Maxwell Del Mar represents the pride of Barbados. The cleanliness of my room was a sight to see. The pool was also gorgeous-blue-sunlight. But if you really want to understand what makes this hotel so special, it is a warm and welcoming staff that caters to your every need. The leader of this incredible team is Mr. Hal Haynes, who borders on Barbados royalty. A statesmen in every sense of the word, Mr. Haynes is a stately gentleman reminiscent of a bygone era when respect and dignity ruled the day. I also thank Nadia and Matthew for their superb service. Stay in this wonderful Barbados hotel before you cannot get a reservation!
Customer service was excellent.. Staff were very responsive to guest needs, caring and polite. The gentleman at the bar, Hal, went beyond the call of duty and provided the best 5-star service you can imagine. My room was small but very clean and quite comfortable. Perfect location along a main thoroughfare so very easy to get public transportation. It’s as close as you would get to a home away from home. I highly recommend and would certainly stay there again.
The clean up is poor.
Everything was awesome! Miss you guys!
Great service, friendly staff will definitely stay again
I liked the flexibility of the check in times
I like everything the staff was excellent and it's near the beach the transportation gets you around quickly and it's really safe walking around during the day and at night, Good vibes and positive energy all day every day.
I enjoyed my stay. Was just disappointed that some items that were on the menu, weren't actually available. Also the rooms are not cleaned daily. The staff are very kind and helpful and though the pool is small, it was very nice to have it there. The food was basic but nice. All in all it was a pleasant stay.
Clean and excellent staff services.
I enjoyed my stay there my nice
Excellent Boutique Hotel with Staff who are so Friendly ,Special thanks to Mathew at Reception and Hal in the Bar who is some story teller and a real nice person
The hostility of the staff
the staff is friendly and the food is good
Guy on reception really helpful sorted room out and early check in quickly and for free. No coffe or milk in room but waiter from restaurant sorted it. Room a bit small, shower small no hot water that we could get but otherwise ok. Comfortable for a 1-2 night stay.
I will most definitely be visiting again! The staff were friendly and welcoming! Much thanks to Matthew at front desk, Mr Haynes in the restaurant and the nice Rasta lady at front desk (can’t remember her name). Pros: Amazing facility, friendly staff, walking distance to the beach, 10 mins walk from the service station, shops close by, food was delicious, 30 mins walk to Oistins, very close to transportation Cons: at the time of my stay, there was no housekeeping, parking not on the facility & no secured parking, portion size was a bit small (personally speaking) In all, I really did enjoy my stay. A big thanks to Mr Haynes for waiting back to ensure I got there safely and guiding us through how to navigate the island. Also I would recommend trying his rum punch!
It was close to the main road which makes it very easy to get a local bus and go to the city or beach and also very helpful receptionist. I would definitely recommend this hotel if your traveling to Barbados.
Friendly staff
Very intimate and comforting place to stay away from home.. about a 6 minute walk from the beach and very close to Sandals resort and Bougainvillea hotel.. will be back… Barbados owes me nothing…💜🇧🇧💜
It was an overall good stay. Matthew was a gracious and supportive receptionist. He attended to our needs without a fuss. The only major issue with the property was the lack of hot water in the shower. There was also a roach in the bathroom which Matthew handled after the first night. We didn’t receive room cleaning service during the stay, not sure if we had to request it after the third night. The room we got was small but cozy enough for two; equipped with a safe, mini fridge, microwave, two teacups, two glasses and some tea and sugar. For me, some blankets would have been nice to have as the AC works really good and blows cold air keeping the heat at bay. Breakfast was enjoyable and tasty. The cafe was quiet during the day and we were served by Hal who was also quiet and helpful. The location was ideal as there is a bus stop outside the hotel which we utilized to get around. The hotel is also ten minutes walk from the Deia beach restaurant.
The staff was great. Friendly the place was clean and very comfortable
Hotel was good. Staff was great. I enjoyed the food as well. Has a fridge and micrI would stay here again. Outside area can be noisy cause of the main road. I was fine, but light sleepers might find it annoying at times. The beach is just a short walk down the street, so is the Sandals Resort. Two more resorts can be reached along the beach before things get too rocky for walking. Oistins Fish Market and Massy grocery store are a short drive away by taxi.
It's in a convenient location for transportation. Some of my towels had stains on them. They gave me a floor towel with rips and holes. Staff often was not at front desk. One staff at the restaurant, a lady that worked a morning shift was very unpleasant. She was on the phone while people were waiting to be served. There is this older guy that works at the restaurant, he was delightful! Overall a comfortable stay, but stay need to do better.
The property was very clean and quaint. The pool was lovely and the staff was right there when needed.
The staff was very polite and helpful. It was exactly what I needed for two nights.
