Reviewed Jun 23, 2026Jane was very welcoming and made the check-in process incredibly easy and she showed me around the facilities, including the lovely lap pool and spa pool. The apartment is very spacious and is full of interesting and fun art. The bed is luxuriant and deliciously comfortable. The shower is powerful and a great way to start the day. The basement car park is very convenient, and you can just leave your car there, as all restaurants, bars, and the beach is walkable An evening soak in the pool, or a walk along the boardwalk, just around the corner is a blissful way to start the weekend, even though I was only there for a Monday night, I will be back for a weekend stay, ASAP!

Got moved to a different apartment to the one I booked which was fine except that my daughter found the sofa bed to be quite uncomfortable. The staff did their best under the circumstances.

Reviewed May 23, 2026Host Jane was warm, welcoming and communicative. The apartment has a very comfortable king bed and in a separate room a single bed. The shower offered great pressure. The decor is eclectic and fun. Location is perfect for access to the beachfront and cafes. The pool is tepid and the spa is warm.
Oceanside resort is an older complex, this may not suit some tastes, but we've enjoyed the apartments here multiple times.

The property was cluttered and did not meet the standard of a serviced apartment. It appeared to have been recently vacated, with cupboards and storage areas filled with personal belongings, including under the beds. This made it difficult to use the space properly—we were unable to find basic items like a chopping board due to the clutter. Additionally, the coffee provided was stale, and there was no hand soap supplied. At $350 per night, there are reasonable expectations for cleanliness, organisation, and basic amenities, which were not met.

Reviewed Mar 19, 2026This booking was for the weekend immediately after the devastating Mount Maunganui land slip that saw the tragic loss of life. This property over looks the incident site/hot pools and emergency services asked for people not travel to the area. But the operators insisted that they were open as usual even though local roads were closed off. So we decided on the emergency services view of not to be in the area out of respect for those that lost their lives. I don't think a reduced fee for a future stay covers the cost of the 2 nights.

Reviewed Feb 22, 2026We had the host meet us on arrival, showed us around to the apartment and around the complex. Access to carpark and 2 sets of keys which is very useful. Apartment had everything and more, great location very close to the beach and restaurant's. Very kid friendly as we had 2 (ages 8 and 11). Could not fault this place at all from booking to coms to our wonderful stay, def an 11/10.
That we had to leave and drive 6.5 hours back to Wellington.

I noted a previous reviewer called it whimsical, and I think that is accurate! Lots of furniture and owner's knickknacks. The second bedroom is a single with no window.

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026Jane was so lovely to deal with! We had a little bit of an issue to start with due to not checking our emails 🤦♂️. But luckily Jane text us right after it and everything was fixed! She took us into the carpark and offered to help us with our bags. Showed us to the room and around it, and gave us advice on food places to eat and things to do! Dixie browns was amazing!! The apartment was clean, well organised and heaps of decoration, felt like home. Jane was lovely enough to give us a late checkout due to our late arrival. Will definitely be back to stay with Jane again!!

Reviewed Dec 20, 2025Jane was lovely and welcoming. The location was great close to the beach and town. The accommodation was lovely and beachy-homely. So many cool things to look at i loved the radio and deck to sit at.
The noise from outdoors seemed louder from the room I preferred sleeping in the lounge as it was a bit more sound proofed. Cars with loud speakers woke me up b4 daylight that was annoying. I didnt get to use the laundry as they closed at 8pm and didnt open again til 8am. I was scared not to break anything as im a clutz and that ruined part of the stay otherwise it was really good
