Not a major, however thought privacy screen or sheers would be helpful for when getting ready during day.

Geen minpunten. We hadden wel de achterste kamer waardoor we konden buitenzitten. De kamer vooraan heeft die mogelijkheid niet.

Reviewed Dec 19, 2025Extremely comfortable and clean and in a perfect location to enjoy the small town of Matakana. The owner was very friendly and allowed us to check in early so we didn’t miss the farmers market. Would highly recommend for a short stay.
It was VERY hot when we stayed, so an umbrella or awning to cover the outside space would have made the place perfect, as it was impossible to sit outside until the sun had gone over.

It would have been good to get a guide on what to do with the rubbish etc for check out. We kept the blinds closed for privacy so some bent curtains for the back windows would have been good

It took me nearly an hour to actually locate the place. Asked the locals to where the Matakana Central 981. Some sent me to different places. When I first came nearly to the village the numbers on letter boxes the one in particular 981 wasn't quite visible and was slightly hidden behind the 4 in front of it. Maybe a little flag put up behind 981 letter box with the Name Matakana Central. I was getting very frustrated. Took me 1 and a half hours to finally get to it.

Reviewed Apr 18, 2025In our 6 weeks of touring new zealand this was one of our favourite stays we had perfect little quiet hideaway in the centre of the village good choice of eateries and restaurants, our host popped round to make sure everything was OK and if we needed anything as she had before we arrived via booking message only wish we could have stayed longer. the art centre Sculpturium is just up the road and is a must to visit

Reviewed Jan 30, 2025It was within an easy walking distance of Matakana Village. The room was well appointed and comfortable. The shower is 10/10 for pressure, also lovely & hot. Loved all the personal touches with ornaments and plants. Very clean. Lynette was accomodating and fast to respond which was appreciated. Hosts gave us loads of privacy but I can see that the set up lets you interact with the hosts as much or as little as you like.
Mid week traffic noise so we were woken early every morning at 6/6:30AM which was a shame.
