Reviewed Sep 12, 2026We absolutely loved our stay here! The accommodation was beautifully presented, spotless and incredibly comfortable, with everything we needed for our time in Lake Tekapo. The location was peaceful and convenient, and the whole place felt modern, cosy and very well looked after. A perfect base for exploring this beautiful part of New Zealand. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend it! ✨

The bathroom was a little dirty could have been cleaned better. The shower curtain was pink at the bottom which is skin particles and there were pubes and dirt in the corner of the bathroom

The bed was very cozy and the location was great — close to Lake Tekapo for hiking, beautiful sunsets, and the small town center. The owner was extremely friendly, welcoming and very helpful throughout our stay. Everything was clean and well equipped. We had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend staying here.

The kitchen facilities were good with a Nespresso machine for early morning coffee. The owners who live next door were very friendly and helpful with Ken taking me to collect the key from the office, so they went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable, giving us valuable local knowledge on what to do and what to eat.

There is another house obstructing the view of the lake directly from the balcony, however we did not consider this an issue as you can see it from so many places in the area.

The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had under floor heating. The apartment remained warm even when the temperature was 1 degree outside with no need to turn on the heater.

The only downside was that there is no turnaround area for car so it means reversing down a long driveway on departure...

Unit 2 is located in an alley after the unit 1. The garage is to enter with a small alley in which, the driver either reverse in or reverse out.

Reviewed May 6, 2024Lisa at Discover Tekapo was lovely, giving great suggestions for places to go during our stay as well as on our trip back to Queenstown. The property itself was lovely, and Ken the owner was even there during our stay so popped in to say hi. He left a small watercolour painting of the area as a small momento of our stay which was so lovely.
It would have been great if the view was a little less interupted but no much can be done about that.

The kitchen is quite small, only a microwave, no dishwasher or stovetop, small fridge. It’s fine but be aware it is not large and you won’t be able to cook there.

Reviewed Nov 11, 2023The property inside was superb. Very clean, spacious and modern. The agents we collected the key from in the village were excellent…. Very helpful and friendly. If you’re looking to go stargazing as one of the main benefits of the village, we would highly recommend Silver River Stargazing tour which departs from a 2 min walk away….better priced than all the others on offer and more time with the expert than the flash competitors!
Our only issue was at the time we booked, it stated lake view. Since then a new property build has been completed which partially obscures the lake view. It’s still a fabulous property with balcony and partial lake view. If you want a full lake view then book No1.
