However, cooking is not allowed, so I don't really understand why there were so many utensils and tableware provided. This part felt a bit inconvenient.

The property was very neat, clean and tidy to enter as well as an easily accessible entry as clear directions stated with a very easy car park included. The view is immaculate - you couldn’t get any better!

No need to go to Mount John’s Observatory, you have your night sky full of stars just outside in the verandah. Everything you could possible need is in the apartment. Cannot recommend highly enough 🫶🏼

Reviewed Mar 16, 2025Such a perfect spot to be away from the masses, but with breathtaking views allowing for rest and relaxation when not tramping the hills or running around the lake or kayaking on the water.
The only thing missing was a pair of scissors! Funny how you find yourself needing to get into a packet or something when only a pair of scissors will do!

The apartment is clean and comfortable, with plenty of towels and toiletries. The key pick-up was easy and communication with Discover Tekapo excellent. The staff were friendly, informative and efficient.
Ensure you turn off all lights before leaving the apartment at night otherwise you will get invaded by bugs!

The host was super friendly and went out of his way to ensure we had the best stay. I highly recommend this to anyone lucky enough to secure this piece of paradise.

Reviewed Dec 30, 2024Good view to lake tekapo even though it is not beside the lake— 2 minute drive to the lakeside. Good shower.
The room and check-in office is not in the same place—- travelers should note that. After checking-in, we find the rubbish is still in the bin- it means no cleaning after last costumers left. We feedback to the host and soon a cleaner came to clean it. The price is a little higher than it should be even though it is in peak seasons.

Seems Booking.com charged an over the top price for our one night stay, compared to Discover Tekapo who manage the property. Now seems to be a 2 night minimum stay. No minimum when we booked.

We did travel to Mount Cook for a day about 1hr away but every part of the drive was unbelievably beautiful. We had knee deep snow so was even more exciting, we're from Queensland & it was even unusual for NZ to have that much snow end of October

Pick up of keys was very easy from DiscoverTeckapo in the main shopping area, staff were very helpful ( even brought pillows for us to the studio ) The studio is a 15 minute walk into the township, OK if the weather is fine.
The furniture was a bit minimalist for our taste and it would have been hard to 'settle in' if we were there for more than one night (stools only to sit at the little table, no sofa , not a lot of places to put our 'stuff'

Reviewed Sep 6, 2023Heaven on Earth exists and it’s at Karen and Kens beautiful modern lakefront apartment. Perfectly located with uninterrupted views of the most gorgeous scenery. Everything in the unit is ultra modern, heated bathroom floors, heated fan in the bathroom, heated towel rack. Best shower and shower pressure. Spotlessly clean, not one fault. It felt so safe! And knowing that our kind hosts Ken and Karen were close by was a real plus. If you’re tossing up between Unit 1 and Unit 2 - the value for money is worth it to go with Unit 1 - slightly better views, but both looked amazing. We didn’t want to leave… unfortunately we had to. Thank you Ken, Karen and the staff at the check in you were all lovely. All the best x
