Reviewed Mar 16, 2026It was very aesthetically pleasing, with a lovely coastal theme. Loved that i could bring the doggies. Had everything we needed and more. Loved the location. The beach a short walk, private, cute and pretty.
Unfortunately mozzies which seemed to come out of the wardrobe in the master bedroom. I was eaten alive both night! And im allergic to those damned things, so healing took 2 weeks. I guess with bush around there will be mozzies, just didnt expect it.

Reviewed Mar 6, 2026The location is great .. handy to the beach and town. Once inside my mum could use her walking frame to get around with ease. They were happy to accommodate our old Labrador.
After the recent storms there is a large slip on the bank beside the property. But I did notice roading engineers inspected it daily which made us feel more comfortable about the steepness of the bank the house is located on.

We were a little bit out of town and you had to cross a busy road to get to the beach. That being said it was a fantastic place to be to get over jet lag

Reviewed Dec 19, 2025Pretty cottage in a brilliant location - 2 mins down the hill to Little Oneroa beach and a 10 min walk into town. Bus stopped right by. Front deck is in line with the tree canopy so lovely birdsong - we saw a kākā parrot and tuis. Also a little table and chairs higher up which was lovely for morning coffee.
Road noise! It’s located right above the island’s main road which was surprisingly busy.

The water did shut off on our last day in the early morning. It wasn't too much of a big deal as we didn't need shower or water. Seemed a bit too late to inquire about it as it was the morning we were leaving any way.

Just for groups of friends to be aware there is only one bathroom for all three bedrooms. I’m sure it is stated in the description but just to highlight that as it’s a bit tough with 6 adults.

Didn’t have a travel cot so just a suggestion to have some family friendly items placed into the cottage eg a travel cot and maybe high chair

Some of the kitchen equipment is a bit old and need replacing but otherwise is well equipped
