Hello, We have booked stay at DSS homestay on 08-AUG-2026, by seeing old reviews, we were amazed by their services, the owner of the property mr. Dinakaran is very polite and kind and managed and guided our arunachalam enire trip. Their hospitality is next level. Very good and clean rooms. He arrange local auto facility for us to avoid confusion with language and bargainings and arranged trusted drivers. When we visited on the same day Amit Shaw visited arunachalam temple. So mr Dinakaran planned our trip by using his contacts and we had a hassle-free darshan enen though our home minister visit. Please simply go along with his plan and advise in arunachalam for hassle-free stay. We really felt that we have stayed at our relatives house. I strongly recommend DSS home stay for Tiruvannamalai / arunachalam trip.

I'm a person always looking for experience than a simple stay... This is all about what truely felt..... This review is about so much more than just a place to stay—it’s about the unforgettable experience I had at Dinakaran’s home. From the moment I booked, Dinakaran kept in touch to ensure I arrived safely, even offering to pick me up from the bus station to protect me from local transport scams. I was genuinely moved that someone would go to such lengths for a guest. True to his word, he was right there on his motorbike when I arrived. Upon reaching the house, his wife welcomed me with a warm cup of tea and genuine, heartfelt Indian hospitality. Her warmth made me feel instantly at home. Dinakaran thoughtfully asked about my goals for Tiruvannamalai and mapped out a detailed, methodical itinerary for visiting the temple and completing the Girivalam. He suggested starting the Girivalam at 1:00 AM, drove me to the temple, and picked me up the next morning. Later that day, he personally drove me to the Sri Ramana Maharshi Ashram. He handled every drop-off and pick-up with a bright, welcoming smile. As for the room, it was absolute perfection: Comfort & Climate: Powerful A/C, beautiful firm beds, and plenty of cozy pillows. Thoughtful Touches: Artistically folded towels, full dental care kits, and immaculate cleanliness. Hotel-Grade Hygiene: The bathroom had a protective seal stating it had been sanitized—a high-end touch you usually only see in luxury hotels. I ended up extending my stay and would have stayed even longer if my schedule allowed. Before this trip, Dinakaran and his wife were complete strangers to me. Now, I feel like I’ve reconnected with a long-lost brother and sister-in-law. I truly couldn't have asked for a better experience.

One of the best home stays I’ve ever stayed in. The owner and his wife are so kind, always happy to help out with anything at all, be it transport, food, and information about the town. Situated away from the hustle and bustle in a colourful neighbourhood, it’s the perfect place to stay in Tiruvannamalai!

He personally provided **free pickup from the bus stand to the stay** and **free drop back to the bus stand** for our return journey. He welcomed us with complimentary coffee, guided us on the best places to eat and visit, and arranged reliable auto rides at very reasonable prices, saving us from the hassle of bargaining or getting overcharged. Host is the best. Helpful, respectful and supportive. He picked us from railway stations and helped us locally to roam places and dropped us back where we want. Most importantly we feel safe and secure during the stay.

I feel the price I paid is little higher. 3700 INR is bit higher, could be around 2500.

We stayed in a 4 people room and it was spacious with two single beds and one double bed and well equipped with fresh sheets, soaps, dental kits, water kettle, AC, fans. Very good value for money when travelling with family. It is a proper homestay within a simple residential area. So the home upon entering doesn’t look like it has the rooms shown in the pics. But the room is exactly like it’s shown in the pics. So if you are expecting a boutique hotel kind of entrance/reception, this place is not for you. It’s a home. The best part is the hosts. Extremely service minded. Nothing is a hardship for them. They are happy to tea and coffee anytime and provide breakfast upon request. They also help with temple Darshan and auto pradakshina if needed. Extremely hospitable couple.

Only the ground floor entry could be less regular ‘homey’ and more in line with the room interiors

The host is very friendly and communicates very well and also very flexible. Mr dinakaran was very good and wonderful host. He helped from getting our luggage to 1st floor and their family got us tea,coffee, fed our kids with nice idiyappam. He is very cordial and gives utmost importance to the comfort of the customers. The rooms were very well maintained and we got very good sleep. The beds and bathrooms are nicely maintained. location is near good centre and their hospitality and care has offset the only small issue of small roads to this homestay. They have taken good care, very friendly and helpful. Mr Dinakaran even dropped us to the temple in the early hours. The facilities are also good with a good bed, AC, Geyser. We had to stay an hour more than our timings and they are not concerned about it Overall a homely stay.

The property owner is very supportive and being native of Tiruvannamalai, he is aware of all information about Arunachalam.He helped in hiring auto and told them to drop us as near as to the temple. There at the temple car parking is almost 1KM away, even though we have a car it is better to go by auto.He is good at communicating anything in a gentle manner.Over all everything is fine.

He went out of his way to make my trip comfortable—from picking me up at the bus stand late at night, to personally taking care of me when I unexpectedly fell ill during my stay. He even brought me to the hospital and made sure I recovered enough to go for my temple darshan, which was the highlight of my trip. Not only did he take me to the temple, but he also dropped me at the railway station for my return journey. Without his support, it would have been very difficult for me to manage everything. His help and care throughout my stay made all the difference, and I am truly grateful. Apart from being such a generous host, he is also a local who knows the town and its hidden gems very well. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Tiruvannamalai—both for the comfort of the stay and the kindness of the host.

The Host! Amazing people. We don't find many people like them very often. Were very keen on looking after us and making us feel absolutely comfortable and guided us on What has to be done when n how. Dinakaran and his wife made me very welcome in their guest house. The room was the only one on the roof so very quiet, there was no air conditioning but it was fine despite the April heat. I didn't eat with them as I didn't know I could, which was a mistake on my part as Dinakaran's wife's cooking looks very good so don't make the same mistake I did. Dinakaran picked me up from the bus and kindly took me home on his scooter. The bus was late and he came back with his wife to make sure the bus was there. And for a few dozen euros, he also took me to the Tiruvannamalai temple, the Siri Aurobindo Ashrams, and part of the tour of the sacred mountain. And the next day I was leaving early but he dropped me off at the ashram so that I could take the walk up the mountain to a lovely viewpoint over the temple and the town, and see a very peaceful little ashram, where on the way up and down I came across two kinds of amusing breeds of monkey. Don't forget to take water, but on the way there are also small vendors selling water and lemon juice. Dinakaran and his wife do everything to make your stay a pleasant one.

The Hosts is more than welcoming and humble. They go out of the way to help you. They cared like a family member and ensured my stay is safe with comfort. I would highly recommend the property.
