Pleasant owner. Nice cottage.
Shower upstairs, mattress upstairs
The history, the beautiful living room with fire place , the nonchalant horses and the host
The walls are too thin
Great value for money and an ideal location! Mike was extremely friendly and gave us some awesome local tips on what to do and see. Would definitely stay here again!

So cute and quaint! So peaceful and in the country! Mike was wonderful to us.
Nothing
Nada
Es una casa fenomenal, te molt i molt encant.
everything, lovely cottage
as for me one of the beds was bit too hard
It truly was a 300 year old cottage. Great host and very accommodating.
Nothing
We were in Ireland for 10 wonderful days--a family of 6--grandparents, parents, and two young girls ages 3 and 10. This cottage was the HIGHLIGHT of our trip. We all agree on that. There was competition--enchanting towns, castles, falconry--but this cottage is our most beautiful memory. The owner Mike was the most hospitable and informative of hosts--with a map of the area and stories of his family's history. The stone cottage itself is spotlessly clean, comfortable, and atmospheric--magical. This place is a gem.
We didn't like leaving this cottage.
Good location, Mike was awesome, house was amazing
House was amazing. Mike was excellent. Kids loved it.
Beautiful place in every sense, the host was AMAZING!
It was a great location for someone who really wants to relax. A fantastic bit of history we received from the host is priceless
The walls are very thin, and you can hear every single sound.
Beautiful cottage in idyllic surroundings, Mike was very helpful and welcoming for our arrival and gave us an excellent history of the cottage and the area. Would absolutely love to return!
Beautiful setting- lovely and homely Mike- fantastic chats!
Tempremental washing machine! 😳 I’m so sorry! 🤣
Where to begin!! A step back in time. Lovely everything! Look out the windows and see horses grazing. Beautiful stone patio. Well preserved. Comfortable beds. Loved it all and could have stayed a month.
The toilets were a bit touchy and didn't fill fast enough, but we sorted it. We cook in alot and the pan assortment was great but the sad skillet needs replacing.
Mike was a very accommodating and kind host who waited patiently for us even though we arrived late
Very interesting and historical place. The owner was very friendly and helpful but not intrusive. The peat burning fireplace is amazing. The local Pub was one of our favorite experiences in Ireland. Overall it's a great experience and I highly recommend it.
We never did figure out the laundry facility and had to leave with wet clothes. That may have just been our ignorance. The toilet is under the slope of the roof so it's a bit uncomfortable. That said, it is 300 years old so allowances must be made.
Tunnelmallinen kivitalo, takassa turvetuli.
Parven sohvasänky oli epämukava
Le cottage est magnifique et chaleureux.
Hotte tres aimable. Jolie maison
Mike is very friendly and full of suggestions for having a nice time. The cottage is very beautiful and comfortable.
The double mattress in the first floor bedroom is not at all comfortable while the two single beds below are much better.
A truly special couple of days. We were greeted by Mike at the entrance and given a wonderful reception, complete with personalized history of his family's deep roots with the local area. The house is a marvel. A perfect combination of old tradition and modern comforts. It was a privilege to stay there, would recommend to anyone passing through the area
One of those places where everything is so fundamentally great that to even start complaining about the TV not working perfectly just seems churlish.
A Magical Step Back in Time! Our two-night stay at this 300-year-old traditional stone cottage was easily the highlight of our trip. From the moment we arrived, it felt like we had been transported back in time, yet the cottage was spotlessly clean and perfectly equipped with everything we needed to feel right at home. We had a bit of a rough start to the day with a flat tire and a vehicle swap, which resulted in a very late arrival. Mike was absolutely wonderful about it! He met us in the dark with a flashlight to help us navigate the windy driveway and gave us a warm welcome that immediately put us at ease. Mike’s hospitality didn't stop there—he sat down with us and shared a wealth of local information and history, helping us plan exactly what to see during our two days in the area. His recommendations were incredibly helpful and made our short stay so much more meaningful. The kids were especially thrilled to see the horses on the property! If you are looking for a unique, historic, and cozy place to stay with an exceptional host, look no further. We absolutely loved it and can't recommend it enough!
Molto tradizionale e antica
Mike was a wealth of knowledge, and the cottage was perfect
Hosts that go above and beyond to ensure the comfort and best experience for their guests. Cozy and warm cottage with ample Turf to burn. Many nooks to settle with a book or relax in front of the fire. Fresh country air and walks at the doorstep. All of the comforts you need in your little home away from home. Thank you Mike for your hospitality, company and rich knowledge of Irish history and sharing the history of this home and the area with us.
It was a beautiful place, and even more beautiful after the host Mike gave us the history of it , I even started to read a book he had there about Lady Gregory and I ordered it when I got home so that I could finish it, Mike had the stove lit and the place was so cosy and warm whenwelanded, it was hard imagine it was SO old and stone because of the comfort, it was a home away from home with everything that you could possibly need, and the sauna ❤️ was an added bonus of pure relaxation, all in all we truly enjoyed our stay, thank you Mike for sharing the history and the pleasure of enjoying the work you have done restoring and keeping the pure character of the cottage ,
Beautifully restored stone cottage with all modern facilities. So cosy and comfortable. Our host was welcoming and very informative
Nothing We hope to return here
The welcoming turf fire, helpful , informative host
The cottage was very comfortable. We arrived to a peat fire burning in the stove and it was very cosy. It has great character but is quirky - the bathroom is squeezed in with not much space. Mike was very flexible to meet our requests. It suited us well for a short stay and we would happily return.
The fold out beds are not very comfortable.
Mike is an amazing friendly person. He knows so much about the area and the history. It`s very interesting to listen to him. The tour to his fields was an absolute highlight. The house itself has a very unique character. And we did like it very much. The turf oven gives it a very cozy touch.
Unfortunately the dishwasher was broken. Some corners in the house would benefit from a thorough cleanup. But it was all very manageable.
Delightful cottage wigh alot of character. Turf fire burning on arrival made the cottage feel cosy and welcoming.
The mattresses and pillows were a little hard but after first night did sleep better.
Great recommendations. Mike knows a lot about the history of Ireland. The house was exactly what we expected, it was lovely and well equipped.
Mike was a good host. Location was good.
Beautiful setting, comfy cottage, home from home feel.
Nothing to mention.
Beautiful old stone cottage with everything you need .Clean and tidy ,great burner with plenty of turf .Mike was a great host ,friendly ,helpful and a great historian .Easy to drive to the cliffs of Moher and Galway town.Great walk/hike just opposite the cottage
Couldn’t fault anything
The charm and history is amazing
Cosy, warm & welcoming, loved the fire.
Pillows were hard, so didn’t sleep great.
It was amazing from start to finish we brought some shopping with us it was a home from home . We Loved every minute of it. My dog got out but with in 5 minutes one the neighbour rang to sat them food the ever so friendly.
The bed were a little uncomfortable but as there ere only four of us we use the onter duvets so we had one under and one over us and had the best sleep
Mike was a great host. Nice country cottage. Area is great all the amenities. Sauna. Washer / dryer
Beds a little uncomfortable
Mike made sure to meet us up even if it was 22.30 and when celebrating his daughter's birthday. Thanks a lot, Mike!
The history, the comfort and location
It was excellent, nothing to report
Everything Mike is fantastic, we discovered the farm and also the mountain with him
The experience and authenticity
The rollout mattress in the upstairs spare room really needs replacing
Fantastic house. We were greeted by the owner Mike. There was a fire lit in the fireplace. Mike told us the wonderful history of this place and his family. I will recommend it to everyone. A wonderful place where you can feel the breath of history.
I have nothing to complain about
This is an exceptional property with a lot of history.
Very comfortable, with a high standard of finish.
The cottage itself and the area is lovely.
Mattresses weren't very comfortable and could do with a sofa for families
The fire was going when we walked in,Mike have us ideas where should visit while there,. The cottage was more than I expressed and we adore the whole place! Mike was knowledge about the area and gave me ideas for finding more of my family,,, E
We didn’t have enough time to stay longer. Glad my mother chose the location.
The host had so many interesting stories to tell!
Nothing comes to mind
We enjoy a lot the irish atmosphere, with fireplace it seems to be in a mountain chalet. Very comfortable and cozy.
Some of the item were not clean as the best.
The ambience of such a historic cottage was fabulous. It made us feel like part of the Irish country side. The host Mike was great and told us the history of the area and his family.
We loved everything! It was a dream stay. Beautiful and cozy cottage that allowed us to relax and feel at home. Loved sitting in front of the fireplace and drinking tea. Loved have space for each of us to rest.
Absolutely nothing!
loved the atmosphere comfortable very private . Mike was awesome enlightening a real pleasure to converse with. horses were right there in the back field . easy access to many places by car. and cooking facilities to boot, it was nice to cook one night.
the bed could have been a little more comfortable but it only added to the authenticity . only real negative is we couldn't stay longer.
Beautiful historic property! Nice fireplace, horses, lots of TV options. Mike was super informative. We had a great conversation about searching for Irish family history.
Traditional Stone Cottage is located out of the city. It is a peaceful retreat but close to shops, pubs and excursions. Mike was super helpful with suggestions for places to visit.
There are many beds to choose from but the one we picked could have been more comfortable.
We loved everything here. Our host Mike is a great and kind person and he gave us tips which places to visit and explained us everything. This place is truly amazing and the cottage is awesome. Cherry on the top was a fire place giving sense of warmth and home. We only regret that we stayed here only for one night due to other plans. Can "only" give here 10/10 and recommend it to be visited to everyone.
Beautiful stone cottage with alot of history behind it. Amazing host Mike who showed us about and told us the history of the house.
Location was great. Building was full of historical charm and beautiful. Mike was a fantastic host with lots of information and tips for visiting the area. He had a lovely fire lit and waiting for us.
We weren't aware that one of the bathrooms was actually in an outbuilding. The sauna did not get hot enough for use. Both showers needed a thorough cleaning, and both had black mould in them. Written instructions for the washing machine would have been very helpful.
Breakfast was on our own. We had the facilities to cook.
We understood the second bath was outside the main house, so this little inconvenience was anticipated.
The fire, workmanship. The downstairs bedroom was nice. The owner was nice and helpful.
Outside bathroom, staircase, claustrophobic bedroom and bathroom upstairs especially for me as I am disabled and found it Difficult to climb the stairs etc. Difficult to locate the property when we first arrived.
Amazing Place and top accomodadion
So incredibly friendly, and the place was lovely!
Mike v friendly and helpful.
All good
Everything!
Lovely setting and welcoming fire. Mike gave us a lovely welcome and recommended eateries and places to visit
The thought of having to go to outside loo at night 😊 there was an inside toilet as well!
My favorite accommodation during our trip to Ireland. Mike was the perfect host, exuding hospitality, humor, history and local knowledge. Loved sitting by the cozy peat fireplace at night. Full kitchen and laundry facilities. Sauna is a nice bonus, but didn’t get a chance to use it.
It wasn’t a problem for us, but about a 35 minute drive to Galway.
